Hardware related lower mic issue Does this exist - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So this question I had to bring to the Non carrier s6 threads .
I have g920t s6
The charging port went bad so I easily and successfully replaced it.
After that fact I no longer had a bottom mic for outgoing calls noone can hear me unless I go to speaker phone and use the top mic.
Supposedly the s6 has a lower mic that's claimed to be built into the charging port so a replacement should have this .
My new part fixed the charge but now no mic
I cannot nowhere visibly see what represents a mic. Someone tell me the issue here is it built in unnoticeable on the Board or the main board
I don't want to keep ordering these I've been told some are defective but if I can't see what looks as a lower mic what do I do?
If you even were to tear apart a s6 there's nothing behind the speaker outlet on the bottom of the phone it's like a mic hole and speaker grill that have nothing behind them.
Any illustrations posted so I can see what to look for would help.
Thanks

Prophet Speaker Crashed

I dont know what happend suddenly the speaker phone stopped working when I Was on speaker phone mode. I restarted the phone and tried all different kinds of ****. Finally I popped open the back camera cover and I could see the speaker. I was playing something on my Windows media and I could not hear anything. The moment I touuched the speaker with the stylus it started playing loudly but the moment I pull the stylus back it stops working. Can some one please explain me what is the problem with my speakers. Do I need to replace them ? if yes then where can I get them replaced in United states.
Yes mate, I had the same problem. I have a HTC Charmer and my speaker died while using tomtom. I openned and discovered the same thing, that touching the speaker causes it to respond again and dies again. Its basically the speaker "moved" too much for its own good and the wire carrying signal to its coil got damaged/broken.
While you could temporarily fix it by trying to glue the broken wire, it may not do any good. And can't solder it as the wire is stuck on the speaker cone surface which is plastic. For a few days mine worked by placing a flexible peice of plastic in such a way that it constantly applied very light pressure on the place where the wire was broken, and the contact was maintained, but obviously such a solution is short lived.
At present I am also looking for where to buy a spare speaker from, but can't help you in this regard as am in UK.
Hope this helps in some way.
Happened to my Prophet. It's currently away for a warranty repair.
Seems like a very common problem.

Can't hear person on the other end unless they're on speaker or bt, please help!

For some reason my phone decided to stop allowing me to hear the caller on the other end unless I have them on speaker or switch over to my bt device (though, the caller can still hear me). Has anyone experienced this problem? I believe the problem started this morning when I installed Skyfire (I received a message saying something about sound issues, but the warning went away before I could understand what it said), but I may be wrong. The main speaker works perfectly fine and I have no issues with any other phone sounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, i have the same issue since i own the phone.
The speakers sold at gsm4world are only for the back of the phone, i didn't find a replacement "earpiece" (correct word?) by now. Since i don't use the phone for calling, that didn't bother me till now (my gf wants to use it).
Maybe i will dismantle the phone during the week to see if its just a cold solder. If i get the partnumber i'll post or maybe another member comes up with a solution.
Phone dismantled and tested
Well.
I dismantled the phone yesterday and tested the speaker. You can do so yourself by simply using a 3,5mm headphone jack. Cut the cable open, connect the shield to one side, the white one on the other side. No sound --> speaker broken.
Afterwards i connected my 3,5mm cable directly to the board an plugged in into the microphone-jack. Receive a call an you can check whether the board is ok. i could easily record the call so there is no problem on the board itself. I assume its a production error.
You can order the spare part speaker at gsm4world.us für 8$, other sites offer it for 25$ and more. It's listed for the Diamond but don't worry, should fit as my colleage owns a diamond and allowed me to check - looks the same and works flawlessly by connecting directly to my 3,5mm cable.
Unfortunately i live in germany so it will take a while until i receive it. If i finally get my hands on it i will post my findings (in any case )
So the speaker arrived and i can only say: IT WORKS!
get a diamond earpiece and peel off ALL of the protection, because it is 1-2mm thicker than the original one.
Thats it After 1 year of ownership my raphael can actually make a call!
After that it was directly taken by my gf

[Q] Speakers distorting and cutting out

Not sure if I have titled the thread correctly if not please can a mod correct.
I am wondering if anyone else is having/had issues with speakers distorting then cutting out when playing any form of audio?
Asus support advised factory reset which didn't fix.
Have DOA code but figured I'd check here before I actually DOA it.
Many thanks

Sounds like a hardware fault and a return is in order unfortunately.
Agree with you stuntdouble,
however now the issue is raised, its in the search should anyone else have problems and need a reference to prior issues.
Interestingly I tried to do a Left/Right audio test and was getting nothing from the left. not sure if its linked in any way to the balance issue I have seen suggested as awaiting a fix.
Roll on Monday when new one should arrive!
Yeah Im one of those with the right speaker louder than the left. The left still works, it's just annoyingly low volume level. Still hoping its a software fix issue, I dont want to have to send mine back. No popping/distorting or cutting out as you describe thank goodness.
i had my first unit for 2 days and it was perfect but the right speaker crackled and then cut out completely. Tried to sort it doing the usual but ended up contacting Comet who had no problem replacing. Was disappointed with carrier as box was water damaged when it arrived but new unit is great apart from some creak. Im just a bit worried about turning the volume up now in case a speaker cuts again!
Did you guys have issues with the sound distorting and crackling all the time? Or did a reboot solve it?
I'm asking because it seems every now and then my audio will crackle and have some static and a reboot fixes it.. not sure if its software that's causing it or what

I too have improper sound levels, one speaker is louder than the other.
I tried testing my the left and right channel speakers using moboplayer. My observations are that when only the right channel was on (green indication) that the sound actually cam out of the left speaker. Same if I checked only the left channel, the sound came out of the right speaker. This was also true when using headphones. Left chanel only then sound came out of headphones identified as "R" for right channel.
Is the right speaker on the TF not on the bottom right side of the TF as you look at the screen?
Anybody else notice this anomaly? or do I have things backwards?

Issue with Microphone

Has anybody else noticed that if you cover that tiny microphone on the top panel of the phone (hole next to the headphone port) then people can't hear you at all? If I'm lying down in my bed and the top of the phone is touching the pillow under my head, then people can't hear me at all until I make some room between the pillow and the phone.
This has never been an issue before and I thought there was another microphone on the bottom side of the phone, on the other side of the speaker? Shouldn't that still pickup something and the other mic should be used for noise cancellation or something, I assume?
Is it just me? Perhaps my phone is defective. Can someone please cover that top mic and see if they have the same issue during a call?
Thanks!

HEllo? ....Hello? no ear peice sound

After I changed my screen on my XT1032 the ear piece doenst work. I replaced it with this but still no joy. The pins for the speaker at installed with the long pins facing the top half of the phone. Speaker phone works fine using speaker phone that how im taking call at the moment.
The connection where the speaker connect on the motherboard looks so basic its hard to imagine that got damaged.
What else can I try?
Thanks bros

The problem that the coil gets separated very easy from the rest of the earpiece.
It's very easy to replace and the orientation doesn't matter, there are pins both up and down, which are interconnected.
All I can think of is that you either got a defective replacement or you damaged it somehow.
You can test it by connecting it to some audio source at very low volume and see if it works at all.
