I want to sell my HTC Sensation 4G.
I unlocked it using Method 2 on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232107
My question is if I use the Factory Reset option in the Settings menu on the phone. Will my unlock still be activate and will the factory reset work?
Because on an iPhone if the phone is jailbroken you have to use some other method to factory restore it.
Hey adaseb,
no, a factory reset only deletes all data in /data.
To recover back to a stock image, please follow this instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1228648
Greetings,
Kanocx
I also experienced the same problem.
thanks for the enlightenment.
Hello, I want to do a complete wipe or factory reset on my device, it is rooted and I have CROMI on it, I have done a Backup with twrp and titanium app and Asus official back up app on a external sd card. the reason I want to do this is that my hdmi doesnt work and my docking station wont let me write anything anywhere, I have explored the internet and discussed the issues with the nice people on xda developers so this is my last resort before I send it to asus (apparently according to their support line they will fix it if there is a hardware issue even if it is rooted and customized)
Anyhow I want to do this right so can anyone give me a guide on how to completly do a factory reset, or atleast wipe as much of the data as possible.
thx

To do factory reset -> settings -> backup and recovery - factory reset
BTW, the full Asus firmware 4.2.1 has been released on Asus web site, you should download, then unzip the file then copy the unzipped file to the root of your sdcard and you should received a notification to upgrade and do so.
If all the above not working then you should return/exchange your device.
Yesterday I use the lollipop factory image to flash my nexus 5 to lollipop, coming from Slimkat 4.4.4. Now, my 32GB Nexus 5 only shows 12.55GB Storage. What happened? How do I fix this?
Flash stock recovery, wipe all data / factory reset. Just happened to me too.

Hello,
My nexus 5 device running on android lollipop 5.0.1 suddenly performed a factory reset. I'm been searching for about 2 hours and reading articles about how to recover my valuable lost data. I want to know are the windows based apps that claims that they can recover my lost data worth trying or buying or there is no hope ? also if they works, will they work on my unrooted device ?
I Appreciate your help a lot
Regards,
I have a 32gb nexus 5, but I found out the size of my hdd shrink after I installed lollipop
Anyone knows what happen
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
I don't know why it does it but I think a factory reset fixes it. There are quite a few threads about it.

ok, it seem like i have to do a factory reset. i think i will wait til i get my new nexus 6p.
btw, since i hae backup app on titanium backup and store inside the phone. Does anyone know factory reset will wipe the phone data?
because my nexus 5 showing 14gb instead of 32gb. I heard a factory reset will help the problem. I just dont know which factory reset (recovery or in setting) to do.
but if i use twrp wiping cache, data and dalvik (leaving system and internal storage alone).... will it wipe my lollipop os too? will it wipe my storage too?
what is the different between the factory reset under setting and the factory reset under twrp?
sorry for so many questions....
