I know many users will see the title and do a facepalm as it is listed in the description SUPER AMOLED DISPLAY.
But i don't seem to get why then some applications which have a requirement in play store -> OLED devices only
don't work on J7?
For eg. KnockOn Pro
Always On Display S7 Feature
Tap To Wake On/OFF
etc.
Can someone please clear my doubt of OLED and AMOLED Displays?
Thank And Regards,
AyushJ702
i have j700f and j700h (6.0) btw

Hello World,
I couldn't find a suitable HW forum for the Note Edge, so I am posting my question here.
Sorry, but I am not that great of an XDA whiz.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with Lollipop, but I flashed Resurrection Remix onto it, so I am (hapilly) devoid of TouchWiz.
Yet I still would love to be able to use the edge part of the Edge Screen for notications.
So here is my question: Is there any third party app available which would help to split the screen in two, limiting the main screen to the flat part of the display and allowing me to use the curved part to e.g. display notifications?
All the playstore sidebar apps I have tested thus far, use an overlay technique for their display.
This makes it impossible to have them active all the time, as they would obscur the application display beneath them.
Thx in advance for any helpful suggestions

Hello guys,
As some of you may already know - Samsung announced their Galaxy Note 7 and it has an interesting power-saving feature. Namely, it can drop screen resolution from 1440x2560 to 720x1280 in order to save power. I'm curious if we can this thing on our Galaxy S7/Edge devices too. The main problem with simply doing that with root is that the system framework (and apps) are usually not suitable for DPI different than stock so Contacts, Camera etc etc etc get cut, badly aligned, misplaced... : ) Since Note 7 apparently has this function, this means that probably it's system apps + framework no longer suffer from such problems and can be used with a custom DPI too!
If my thoughts are correct - maybe we can get a feature like this on our devices (by porting the framework + system apps) and achieve this functionality?
Looks like they'll also need to disable whatever it is that reduces performance (in medium mode) and all network access (high mode). It's not just a resolution switch
.... Edit, I stand corrected - you can make your own preset

I'd argue we'll get the exact same features once the Note 7 is officially released; officially from Samsung and unofficially via XDA.
is there any way to install ambient display future apart from xposed ?
im running lineage os nougat
Hi !
Ambient display , if it is not a phone default feature can be used by m as you said , flashing xposed and using a module or by installing one of the available apps from playstore
Keep in mind that not all devices are fully supported so don`t expect 100% functionality like on the built-in ambient display devices has .
For more help , in the future please mention the device model you`re using.
Cheers !

It's been 4 months now I have bought this device, since last 2 months I'm facing this Display problem. I'm not sure what it's actually called but it's like double imaging effect!
When i use whatsapp, after exiting the app I see the whatsapp chatscreen everywhere like on the launcher-homescreen & while viewing videos etc. visible more on a grey background!
Youtube non-tilted orientation image is also seen in Sub-key option when i type *#0*# in the dialer to check display issue!
Also the status bar is burned-in & visible while viewing videos & under grey background!
I tried all sorts of Display pixel fixing Apps from the playstore but none worked! I hope this is a software issue & will be fixed with the Nougat update! I tried resetting my device also but the problem still persist!
Please share your knowledge, opinions & experience to help me out!
P.S :- The PLS IPS display of this phone is good for outdoors & natural color reproduction! But I wish Samsung would give an update for Display color mode settings like the S. Amoled phones have, where you can tweak the color balance according to your preference! The colors are dull on this display which I don't prefer!
