Now personally, I don't like amoled's oversaturated colours but there are many who do so. As we cant recalibrate the screen (or can we? pls explain how calibration is done), I have thought up of an idea. We could go about it two ways:
1) Put a screen overlay giving more colours : kinda like those screen dimming apps that put a translucent black layer over the screen. It would be like a instagram filter or a real filter by which we can get richer colours.
2) You know in image editing apps ( even the stock one ) there are options for increasing vibrancy and saturation? Well how about use similar algorithms that run always , all over android.
I don't know whether this works. I am a total NOOB at development and programming so don't expect any results from me. I know something of this sort has been done in bravia engine, but the effect is barely noticeable. This is just a concept/idea and if you want to move forward with this idea, feel free.
The Galaxy S4 has a good screen but it's a little too over-saturated giving unnatural skin tones. Switching to "Movie" mode results in rather muted colors. For accurate color reproduction there's a new app "Calibrated photo Viewer" on Google Play with pre-calibrated color and gamma corrections to show photos in their natural colors.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.auralisoft.jpegviewer
Adobe RGB and sRGB color spaces are supported so both standard and professional photos can be viewed seamlessly, without the need to switch 'screen modes'.
The app works just like a normal photo viewer. No rooting is required.

Added color balance controls
I have added controls for custom fine tuning of color balance, to allow for variations between different S4 devices.

I'll check it out, thanks! I'd love a way to set the rgb for the whole phone, not iust one app, as my whites are quite greenish in comparison to many other screens-is this possible without kernel modifications?
Unfortunately I don't think that is possible without a mod kernel.
Check out the new version with Auto Color Balance.
Use a camera on an external android device as a color measuring device.
No more fiddling with color controls.
The two devices communicate via Bluetooth.

Borderlight live wallpaper
This is an updated version of the original Borderlight found here. It's a live wallpaper that creates a thin colorful line on the edge of the display (hence the name), the new version also allows you to display a normal background image behind the edge highlight and darken/desaturate it when the device is locked/unlocked.
There is no real way to programatically get the shape of the display in Android, so I did the next best thing and created a preset system, where users can tweak the wallpaper for their phone and then share their preset with others.
I need your help!
See this post for details
Update 2/24/2019:
New notch settings (OP6T and other teardrop notch phones should be supported now)
Pink highlight of the outside borders when changing screen shape settings (makes it easier to configure the screen shape just right - just move the sliders until there's no pink visible)
Update 2/23/2019:
Moved to Google Play
No new features (yet), but they're coming soon!
Update 11/2/2018:
Force black theme on Android 8.1+
Fix red tint on Huawei/Honor/Vivo devices (hopefully)
Fix preset codes not containing notch width
New launcher icon
Update 11/1/2018:
Background image support
Only show border when locked/unlocked
Desaturate/darken/hide background image when locked/unlocked
Black out clipped parts of the screen - the wallpaper looks good on screenshots now
Shorter, less annoying preset codes (with support for the old ones)
Correct rendering in landscape mode
Wider range of border radii - will now support Pixel 3 XL

Great work dev!
Settings for OnePlus 6 with very thin border

For Dark Wallpapers :

My HUMBLE suggestions :
1) An option for wallpaper slideshow.
2) Custom wallpapers with the same effects ( like oem logo, geometric shapes, popular shapes etc with minimalism in mind).
3) Option to change colors (or add different gradients, custom color combinations).
4) Presets of popular Phones built in ( Can add from trusted users)
5) Option to enable just a single beam of light (which doesn't cover the whole border).
6) Toggle for; only on notification/lockscreen/charging etc
7) Different patterns\animations for cycle like pulse, fade, etc ( rather than linear motion).
8) Option to change the direction( clockwise or anticlockwise).
9) Always on display.
10) An option to store and load different Presets
These are all SUGGESTIONS and NOT requests.
You have done a Great job in making this app so lite and minimalistic. Once again THANK YOU for keeping the app ad free !! :good:
This new update was all I was waiting for, awesome job with the custom image!
Sent from my OnePlus A6003
Awesome, great, too good!!
Can there be one more setting?
Seperate border size for left/right and top/bottom, u must be aware of black border tempered glass for oneplus 6 covering the sides of screen. If this setting can be implemented then this problem of tempered glass would be solved.
Awesome! The background image I select won't stay in portrait and I can't resize it, but the border is perfect on my Pixel 3 XL! Here's my present, I made sure it was perfect:

That's weird, I did not add an option to crop the image, but it should definitely stay in portrait . Maybe you could try cropping the image to your screen resolution beforehand?
BTW: The images work like this: If the image resolution is smaller than your screen, it will just get placed in the center of the screen, kinda like a logo. And if it's larger, the full vertical center portion of the wallpaper will be used (sides will be chopped off to make the correct aspect ratio).
Does this work on Oppo F9?
Thank you,man

I'm not sure tbh, you can try and if you won't be able to adjust it to the teardrop, I'll make a new version that will allow it.
Great
Looks great works on my 5T
great wallpaper
Great update! Its qorking perfectly with no bugs, i have one request, if you can add a wallpaper cropper, that would make it the best live wp, great work!
Wonderful!! I agree with the other suggestions about being able to crop any picture. Next step is offering a paid version. Or at least a donate option. Your hard work deserves it.

The app is not supposed to recognize your phone, you should open the settings and disable the notch there.
Wow. This is amazing. Perfect on 3XL. How do you get it to work on lockscreen? I selected both at initial start and it only shows black screen on lock now..
Thank you for your work.
Does not work on my Jiayu S3A with MAD OS OREO 8.1.0
Amazing. Thanks for this.
Using it on my Vivo Nex full screen... Wonderful. Keep the good work going.
Looks nice but I'd like to use it with my current bg. However I can't seem to find the settings. There is only a big activate button in the app. No options to import or edit settings. Do I miss something? OP6.

Hi,
I recently upgraded to pie by installing the Alexis Rom. It runs smooth but I've noticed the following which I can't make changed to like I could in Oreo and Nougat,
I don't have much control on full screen apps. Some games I play now look over stretched. The opportunity to make this but a full screen app isn't highlighted so I can't change it.
Also the navigation bar won't go away on certain apps especially if I'm watching video content in apps. Before pie there was an option for me to lock it to the screen or not.
Can anyone confirm if I can make the changes I need? I surely can't be the only person who finds this annoying.
Thanks
SAMSUNG also effed up the camera.
1. They removed dedicated video recording button.
2. They removed pro mode from video recording
Game tools
1. Can't change frame rates and resolution etc.
Very bad move by Samsung.
I feel everything is half baked.
So they've removed the features I mentioned above as well then?
Several things missing in pie. I do hope they get added in the next patch though. Most annoying issue I have now is auto brightness not remembering what I prefer. It keeps setting it very dark in low light. I'm constantly putting it back to around the middle. Sticking it isn't an option because in sunlight I need it to go way up.
Icons are ugly with the white templates etc etc.

Hi, I just got my Mi 10 Ultra. Camera is fantastic and it's fast. I usually use Nova Launcher but Xiaomi prohibited to change that.
However, at first I thougt the camera had horrible white balance but when viewing pictures on other devices I find out that that is not the case. However, it really don't show red colors - they look almost brown. I have not found any way to adjust it with sw and suspect that it is a HW problem?
Any ideas?
Attached is the same photo viewed on another phone and on the Mi 10 Ultra (to the right).
Woah that looks... very wrong. I just took a picture of a Cola Cola can and it was fine in the viewfinder and in Gallery and I'm seeing red just fine.
You can adjust in software, worth a try, look in Settings for Color Scheme. But it defaults to Auto and that is pretty accurate in my use so far... you can go into the Advanced mode to set individual colours. If that doesn't work, it could be hardware...
(btw, change your launcher from within Nova Launcher itself!)
