Hi all
I have removed the xposed framework and gravity box from my Nexus 5 as I have switched to the ART runtime as I was fed up with poor battery life.
A few key features I am really missing.
Status bar brightness change (like CM)
Advanced volume control where when you push the hardware volume keys you get the media slider too
Volume key hold down to skip track with display off
Quick settings from dragging on right side of status bar (not silly two finger Kk style)
Battery percentage number always displayed
Resizing the horrendsly massive navigation bar which takes all screen space up
There were more things but those were the main...
My Nexus 5 is rooted and unlocked. I don't mind if I have to use adb to do some of the above or flash etc. I'd like to stick to the standard ROM. I'd also not like to install a million third party apps which also require resources and permissions...
Any suggestions? Does Android L improve on the above?
Thanks very much
Laurence
These are custom features. Xposed was the easiest way to get them. Finding a custom ROM is the other way.
Either Xposed or a Custom ROM. Xposed won't work with ART.
I know that's the problem . I wanted to keep stock but there is just far too many lacking features - come on Google give the advanced users a few more options - even if you hide it away...
I'll have to flash the Cyanogenmod ROM. I see that they have the M8 (4.4.4 ) version of CM 11 which is which I think has all the features I need and more. Maybe a good thing anyway!
I think Android L has a few problems reading up on it for now... I know it is a developer preview anyway.
Thanks
Laurence

Does this mean /storage/sdcard0 is on external SD? If so, can it be an ext4 filesystem or does it have to be vfat?
Can you provide outputs of 'df' and 'mount' ?
Have a nice day
I have Beta4, but trouble with Bluetooth. Is this fixed?
I cant seem to unable 4G.. is this rom related or maybe my sim card ?
btw i'm from Portugal.
regards
Anyone suffering with the battery performance?
I easily got a day on KK roms, and I have tried all the LL roms and they seem to do the same - about half the capacity I had before, get down to ~ 15%, then a few minutes later battery dead.
Can't get past the afternoon with normal use.
Great Build @superdragonpt, really fast and smooth! I only see that some heavy games as Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 tends to be a little laggy on this and other LP builds, in KK is way smooth and no problems, hopefully this will be fixed with more builds!
Regarding NFC, so far that wasn't working for me, I can't even use Android Beam. So no missing point since it's removed to be improved, hope we get it working perfectly as KK soon.
And good news is Xposed is working really nice in your Rom =)

Hi thanks for report. I am still on latest KK S3S version and I am quite happy with it but also want to move to Lollipop as soon as possible. I use phone mainly for calls, Internet a GPS navigation. No Bluetooth, no NFC and no 3D games.
Would you suggest to try this version?

I'm getting a good day and a half on light use, and a full day on heavy use.
So, just flashed this ROM and seems super smooth and super fast, thank you superdragonpt!
Edit: Unfortunetaly, batter drops from 20% to 0% on this version. Back on KK.
I'm using the beta III - will i lose data/settings/apps etc if I flash this over the top?
if someone can post (preferably ascii) output of df and mount, that would be nice
Funny thing about the LP build, Youtube app just started to support 60fps videos, in KK the phone runs 720p60 with charm, pretty sad it apparently don't support 1080p60, but in LL all 60fps videos resolution goes up to 480p pretty bad, don't know exactly why.
Another is that Google Now does not show the option "Ok Google from any screen" what worked perfectly in the KK Rom.
Not reporting bugs at all, since this is a Beta, but just helping to point some issues.
I know it might not solve your problem, but I've exposed and gel settings installed and I've got okgoogle turned on and it works, and I think in gravity box in advance setting there is a setting that's similar, I can't confirm that gravity box works but exposed gel settings does.
How can I make the alarm clock ring in silent mode. At night, I don´t want to here the notifications but I want my alarm clock to ring in the morning.
Settings, sound & notifications, interruptions. In here I've turned all priority interruptions off.... This works for me, alarm still wakes me, and a star comes up in the statusbar that I presume is the notification that its on.
I know many users will see the title and do a facepalm as it is listed in the description SUPER AMOLED DISPLAY.
But i don't seem to get why then some applications which have a requirement in play store -> OLED devices only
don't work on J7?
For eg. KnockOn Pro
Always On Display S7 Feature
Tap To Wake On/OFF
etc.
Can someone please clear my doubt of OLED and AMOLED Displays?
Thank And Regards,
AyushJ702
i have j700f and j700h (6.0) btw
Hey Guys
I'm searching, for days now, how to force, on installation, to have the Phone UI on Hearthstone on my 6.6 inches Honor Note 8. The installation set the tablet UI on my phone and it's a little too tiny, particulary to read long descriptions of certain cards.
I figured out that one year later there was a reddit version who can do that but there's no update anymore form the modder.
So I rooted the beast and just installed Xposed and the App Settings module.
If anyone had this problem and solved it with App Settings, I'll be happy to know the parameters to enter for the apps, and WHEN to do that, as I supposed you can't change the UI on the fly, now that the installation is done.
Thanks for all the help you can bring to me !
