Looking to buy a new phone - Best Bang For The Buck? - General Questions and Answers

I have been googling but its kind of hard to find real posts from sponsored ones through google. I'm going to be purchasing a phone today and was wondering what is roughly the best phone out there for its cost.
It would have to be purchased through T-Mobile, US Region, and price should be about $700 - $750 max preferably. Battery life and screen size would probably be the priority. Its for my wife and she doesn't really care about how powerful it is. Hopefully this is the right place to post and I'm not breaking any rules lol Thank you!

Best place to buy and sell used phones

What are some good sites to buy and sell phones other then Amazon or Ebay?
I've had good luck with Craig's List but remember to follow the rules:
1. face to face ONLY and
2. cash ONLY!
You can always meet at the carrier's store and get the phone activated right there, that eliminates any possibility of a bad ESN or...

A little Craigslist tip, send your seller multiple extremely low offers from separate email accounts, lower his confidence a little before going in for the real but still below value offer.

this Thunderbolt has been Infected with a Virus for all Eternity
I usually sell mine on Ebay and buy them on craigslist or Ebay.
Swappa.com is another. It's where I bought my Thunderbolt.
You can also sell your used/broken phone at Buy Back Pros other than Amazon or eBay. I can say this because I also sold my broken phone at Buy Back Pros where I got a very good price there even all beyond my expectations. They provide me free pickup and also the 30 days money guarantee

[Q] goophoneshop.com; safe seller?

Hello; i'm serriously considering selling my current motorola razr hd, and buying a new phone from goophoneshop.com. I can't find any info on this website, and due to chinese websites having a somewhat flakey reputation, i'm a little concerned. Has anyone bought a phone from this website.
Edit:
I've found another website with the phone i'm after.
http://www.dhgate.com
Does anyone have any experience with this website? I'm particulary concerned with this one, because paypal is not an option.
As I told to another user I suggest to buy from etotalk. It's really fast and serious and you can pay with PayPal. I bought a vivo Xplay and everything went good.

Unfortunatly etotalk does not have the phone i'm after. After observation, i've noticed the phone i was considering on dhgate, is not infact the phone i'm after; but instead a fake, and it doesn't have the one i want either.
I've decided i will buy from goophoneshop.com because they have paypal, and i will report back if they're any good.
The devices there are also clones.
Wayne Tech Nexus
I once wanted to use dhgate to buy some ton of case and sell them locally had a bit of research seemed pretty legit if you ask me and some other reviews approved aswell...
Its kinda the chinese version of ebay..

Retailers need to make money.

Retail pricing isnt govern by Google... If you dont like reatil pricing, by from Google Play or sign a contract to get discount on the phone.
Google doesn't make any profit from selling the phone. They just want to get their services into as many hands as possible. A retailer, on the other hand, actually wants to make money on the sale of the phone itself. It doesn't make sense that a retailer would buy the phone from Google or LG and then turn around and sell it for the same price. They're in business to make money.
Exactly. Essentially, Google has "cut out the middle man" by providing Nexus 5 for a reasonable price on the Play Store. They're at least covering the costs if not making a small profit on each sale.
Anywhere else you're still dealing with the middle man. The middle man always wants his cut.

Actually both of me & my father own the Nexus 5(me) and the Nexus 4(father).
We love it so much.
But he:
1. Dont want them "big".
2. Dont want them "too easy to drawning to".
What about the JIAYU F1?
In the biggest Israeli forum there is a huge thread on the JIAYU F1.
Looks like a grat vlue for 70-75 usd...
Just wana some other options to hear.T
Thanks!

Stay away from the clones!

A bit off topic, but there is the odd person who comes to these forums looking for help with their S4 clone. I had often considered one of these handsets before and still get tempted by the lost cost/decent specs, but think I'll stay away for good now.

Although if the below story is true, even equipment from reputable manufacturers can be compromised, so its no just 'all chinese devices can't be trusted'.

I brought a clone at first. And while its mostly ran great the biggest problem was that its 4G/3G antenna was rubbish.

That seems to be the fall down in even the good ones from what I've seen, either a poor WiFi radio or rubbish GPS.
xda is not for clones and Chinese junk that cost as much as a case for phone I do not know why here allowed threads related to fakes
indeed.. got one from ebay ..it sucks
How do people get scammed into buying fakes? Always buy from reputable retailers!

Because we are all saying 'STAY AWAY'.
If one of us said 'Best phone I ever brought' it would be closed.
But in the end I wouldn't bother wasting my money again in the future with those phones.
Better way of not getting a clone is to check the hardware of the device .
Mainly clone or copy have same software but hardware is diffrent .There are many apps to check the hardware .Better be alert

I know right. If the deal sounds too good to be true then it probably is. If most people saw a Rolex watch on sale for 50 bucks I'm sure they would be skeptical.....so why would you fall for a knock off phone.
