Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum. I've tried searching for some answers but can't seem to find how to resolve the problem. I'm quite new to using PPCs so let me know if there's any information that you guys need.
So my phone works fine in Canada using Rogers... but everytime I go to US, I cannot detect a network for my phone and there's a "!" at the top. I tried searching for a network and it says "no network found" or sometimes it tries to register and then it fails in the end. In US, my phone automatically shuts off... I have no idea how this happens but everytime I go to look at my phone after leaving Canada, it's off. So when I go to turn it back on, there's no phone signal. I have no idea what to do as I'm not very familiar with PPCs.
Thanks for the help!
Which phone are you trying to use? Guessing Touch Pro?
Is international roaming or data roaming added to your account with Rogers?
Hey I have the HTC Touch Pro... yeah I've used this sim with my eten m700 before and it works fine. It just always seem to be searching for a network then it can't find any.
Thanks!!!
are you a prepaid customer? if so, Rogers doesnt allow roaming outside of canada.
Hey there... Just figured I'd pipe in here...
I am still using a TyTN (shopping for a Touch Pro today), and although I was able to always use my phone in the states, since my last firmware upgrade (WM6.1, new radio stack)....
....I can't get any service when I cross the border.
SOMETIMES I'll get 10 minutes of service over the course of an entire day. Very strange.
It is obviously firmware-related... Good luck with your phone...!
Thanks for all the help guys...
Nope I'm not a prepaid customer... should I be upgrading something on my phone to see if it works? Sorry... really don't know much about PPCs here!
just out of curiousty, have you called Rogers to ask for an updated OTA to be pushed to your SIM?
I've contacted Rogers and they said it has nothing to do with them... it's my phone! Should I contact them for the OTA? I'm sorry to be so noobie but... what does OTA do?
Thanks again!
Anyone help please!!!
I posted this elsewhere, but I thought I'd come looking for help in a forum where I might have a few friends...

Hey guys. This is a last attempt at fixing this very annoying problem. All the searches I have done don't seem to leave anywhere. So here's the situation:
I bought a Chinese clone phone (Sunno HDi - clone of HTC T8282). The phone comes with WM6.5 [5.2.23037 (build 23037.5.3.0)]. Overall the phone works great, and I have done a couple of YouTube videos on it.
But anyway - the really annoying problem is that from day 1 the phone has always shown that I'm roaming. I always get the little roaming triangle, which in turn makes several applications complain about roaming charges, blah blah blah. From my understanding, roaming is a feature of what's stored on the SIM card, and the info being pulled in from the tower. I have my T-Mobile SIM card in the phone, and I put up all T-Mobile networks I could find on the top of my preferred network list. What am I missing?
*Any* help will be greatly appreciated!
What you have missed?
I dunno, perhaps the common sense not to buy cheap crap?
Sorry, I know my answer doesn't get you anywhere either...
Hello everyone, been using the helpful tips on this forum for a while, but it is my first time posting here.
I am in China at the moment, so I had to get my phone unlocked.
I purchased an unlock code, and was able to have my phone working with other sim cards.
My problem is, when I have the Chinese sim card inserted, my phone still thinks it's roaming.
I have tried messing around with the network settings, but have not been able to get anywhere.
Is there anyone here who can help me with this? Thanks so much!
I will be traveling to Europe on Friday and purchased a Global Unlimited Sim that has unlimited data and texting for a month.
https://www.mobal.com/global-unlimited-sim/
I wanted to test the sim card out here in the US with my Galaxy S6 to make sure I'm all set. I popped the card in and it gave me a message that 'This is not a Sim for Verizon Wireless'. Texting seems to work fine, I don't want to test calling since the would be a charge. Data however doesn't seem to work at all.
I have a call in to Mobal and am hoping to hear back (but haven't yet) . Does anyone happen to know if the reason data won't work is because I'm in the US? I wasn't sure if Verizon locks this in the US. This should work fine in Europe I assume right? (It is an international T-Mobile Sim card)
If anyone knows anymore and could let me know I'd greatly appreciate it!

Are there certain apn settings I need to try? I see either an 'H' or an 'E' so it looks like it's finding data, but won't connect. Verizon is now telling me that since it's a tmobile sim, even if I'm out of the country it won't work (including data) is this true and can anyone help me out with this?? I leave Friday and really am trying to get this working.
Anyone know anything I can try??

I can confirm that this works. I switched back to T-Mobile about 6 months ago and have used my G920V in The Netherlands, UK, and Germany.
Hi guys, new to here.
I've searched high and low and I can't seem to find an answer.
I'm from the UK and have a BTU galaxy s7. I've just rooted it and have downloaded csc feature expert. Tried to enable wifi calling but nothing appears under phone settings.
Has anyone had any luck doing this? If so, info would be much appreciated.
It worked for me in USA on t mobile!! i didn't do anything special just outta the box connected to wifi and boom
I'm in the UK too, vodaphone network with wifi callinging activated on my account and similarly I can't activate in on my phone, because there is no "wificalling" enable selection on my Samsung S7 Edge phone settings, did you have any luck finding out how you can do it

According to the Vodafone S7/Edge forum Wi-Fi calling needs an update before it can be enabled. No idea when this will be out.

It's working for me, but I got my S7 from EE.
OK Thanks. I contacted Samsung and they say wifi calling isn't part of their software, its a service provider software add on. I know EE have their wificalling working, where you download an App, whereas vodaphone are saying you don't need to download any app, so as you've said, vodaphone are advertising under false pretences, becasue their wificalling isn't up and running yet.....you'd think they'd get a system that works first, before advertising the facility......a case of waiting to see when Vodaphone get their act together

To be fair to Vodafone (which is very difficult) their web site doesn't mention Wi-Fi calling for the S7 - only the S6. Several people on their forum have claimed that customer service told them it was enabled which doesn't surprise me in the slightest. As the new flagship phone why wouldn't it be enabled out of the box? Especially given EE didn't appear to have any problem doing it.
Anyway, I'm sure it will be along any time now... What I'd like to know is when they're going to enable Wi-Fi texts as well as calls.
P.S. You don't need an app for EE either. I believe EE and Vodafone work in the same way as opposed to O2 and 3 which use a separate app.

I just flashed EE version (from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/EVR/) G930FXXU1APB9 and WiFi calling options still do not show up. Please advice.

Which version of the S7 do you have, the one T-Mobile sells, or an international variant?

AFAIK, there is no way to get WiFi calling on the Exynos variant. Sorry, it doesn't sound like it will ever be possible, so don't get your hopes up.
