Updating the x pure with 6.0.1 and security patches promptly is a nice way of saying f you loyal customers. Not. What the hell is going on? Haven't even received security patches. 6.0.1 isn't a big deal but being stuck on old security patch is a slap in the face. Thought lenovo was going to do us Motorola fans right. Guessed wrong. Moto z is intriguing but ugly as hell, but seeing ALL the updates we've been getting it isn't even on my radar. Ta ta lenovo. Good luck sitting on your hands.

XT1572 already has the May update. I want to say that none of the android makers in the world pushes the monthly updates in a monthly schedule. If you care about monthly updates and security patches you should go to buy a Nexus device, or flash custom roms like CM.
The May security patch is rolling out to the XT1575 now.

Is that what the current ota is? Just May patches, not 6.0.1?
I woke up with the notification this morning, but I have custom recovery, xposed, kernel, so I have some work to do to take it.
Anyone remember what service to freeze to kill the update notification? I'm not going to get around to it for a while.

US. Northern Midwest if region makes a difference in how it rolls out. I captured the ota. The ota zip from my xt1575 is attached if you'd like to apply it yourself. I've accidentally downloaded it, but I'm not planning on applying it just yet.

24.201.3 is the February security update that I've had installed for months.

That file was the only Blur...zip left in cache. I'm pretty sure it wasn't left over from February.

I guess the update is being batched out incrementally. Still showing as up to date on the February security. Disappointed with Lenovo. The 1572 model has 6.0.1 as early as March/April and as of yet no love for the 1575. Still love the phone, but have to wonder about Lenovo and their phone support.

Is the update file out in the wild? I am not bootloader unlocked (so no custom recovery and no root obviously). I will root eventually, but given the main reason for rooting my other phones was to rid then if carrier and manufacturer bloat, I haven't seen the immediate need. While there are little things I miss, they are not a big deal and my warranty stays intact.

Absolute failure by Verizon. Verizon's list of features has typos and they don't have a damn clue what Google Now is! C'mon man!
'Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software updrade.' Really?
And why is the Google Now screenshot labled as Google Plus?
Furthermore, why do all the screenshots contain on screen soft keys? WTF Verizon!?
Obviously, Verizon has no clue about software and the Android OS. Makes me wonder why the updates take so long!

Broken help was actually a bug in my previous prep method for the leaks. I have fixed that on the last leak as of 12/10. Refer to the new K3 No-Wipe Fixed image in my thread.
Wonder if this would fix the home button going back to home screen when screen itself is off. That or if its already been fixed by a dev I'll take it.

It will only show you OTA if you have the official build (last OTA version was VRALHE). If you flashed any of my earlier leaks you won't get the OTA and will have to flash VRBLK3 manually from my thread. Otherwise you will get the OTA and it will just remove root and relock your bootloader.
The ironic thing is that in order to reroot and unlock your bootloader after the OTA you have to reflash VRBLK3 manually from my guide anyways so if you're looking to keep root, custom recovery, or unlocked bootloader after the OTA, just don't bother with the OTA and follow the guide from my thread to get on the OTA early.

actually i think it will only show the ota if you have the stock recovery. if you flashed CWR or TWR then you will have to wait until one of the devs here root it for us. or odin back to stock and upgrade from there.
So those of us who have been on the K3 leak have been on the OTA? Or is there a chance they'll make additional changes to the OTA...?

There will b no changes they have decided after testing. . I hope... they don't get all jumpy and add things at the last minute that would b 6 months from now if they wanted anything changed.. unless it was critical.

Is this the lollypup update? Or some other security crap
This is not the Lollipop update. Its an OTA to address some bugs, security issues, and remove/add some bloatware.
Personally I wouldn't be surprised if its AT&T slipping something else in to mess with root or worse.
I'd avoid it till you hear from others what the downsides are.

Excellent question. I've been looking for a while, as well.
Odd - I received the notification and accepted the OTA, yet did not lose root.
My phone forced the update last night and it seemed I didn't have root this morning, but I just installed SuperSU again from Play Store, and it was able to update itself and I had root again after it rebooted.
I re-enabled ota and cleared dalvik and cache and now I see a message saying invalid update and to re-download. Will try again when I get home.
I froze Software Update in Titanium Backup and have not gotten a forced update or nay since yesterday.

CAUTION with 5.1.1 UpdateG925PVPU2B0F7I've been spending some time reading T-mobiles issues with the update. This isn't a super new conversation, but is probably new to many Sprint users. The update appears have rollback protection, which effects both kernel and bootloader from what they are saying... Which I find slightly confusing since I didn't think that their was a locked bootloader on the US versions (maybe someone can assist with that)
Figured we could start the conversation early for Custom Root/Recovery/etc. users, so that we may save some of us some trouble with Soft/Hard brinks in the next week or so.
This is the thread I've been looking at.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge/general/psa-odin-5-1-1-t3136151
EDIT:
NO, the bootloader is not locked with the 5.1.1 update.
Rather, "Factory Reset Protection" (an Android thing - not a Samsung thing!) is now an option, which allows you to lock the bootloader yourself, protecting your device from someone installing a custom recovery, wiping your device and making it their own. It makes the device somewhat less valuable, and therefore (supposedly) less likely to be stolen.
The 5.1.1 upgrade looks to be a "permanent" upgrade, meaning we're not able to revert back to 5.0.2 kernels and recoveries.
So, I would suggest to sit tight with your current set up. In order to customize our devices we will need to wait for:
A) Root for 5.1.1
-Root has been achived: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...elopment/5-1-1-stock-of7-kernel-root-t3153396
B) Samsung to post the source code for the new kernel.
C) Custom Recovery
-Recovery has been achived:
Once we have the above, we can get back to modding our devices.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
Interesting article, I remember several other older Samsung devices where you could not downgrade bootloaders and modems. IE Galaxy S3, note 3, s5. But there was still root, Roms and the ability to flash kernels. Hopefully there's no need to go back anyway. The kernel thing is something new so I may hold off on upgrading. Thanks for the info

This is my first Samsung, so the whole root recovery process was almost too smooth since I've been on the HTC side for 5 years. Unlocking bootloaders, S-off and requesting tokens to push.. Ugh, as must as I likes HTC and Sense, that sucked.
I think I'm holding off as well, untill Sac23/ Ram9200 might have spare time to look over the update first and make sense of it all and could at least get it to where V.2 is right now. But it sounds like the Kernel could be our hold up, without Hybridmax's current support.

Yea but based off of my years of experience and having Samsung devices, I'm pretty sure that someone will find a way moving forward, but going back probably won't happen. I too had an HTC evo years back lol and I couldn't stand the root process. I feel your pain. But yea it may be wise just to wait for a while on the update

3) got the update after 12 hours, where every one here claimed they got update.. ( i got the notification about software update as soon as i ON my wifi )
did you have all these as i have?
if yes, then try another thing.. install MOTOROLA DEVICE MANAGER, and connect your phone to your PC and try looking for any software updates..
NOTE : i am kind of getting a feeling that - software updates are now no longer active, they must be downloaded on that time only !!

Me too have the same build number. The system version you have is not getting any updates. Motorola claims that they build software for different build numbers so i think we may get marshmallow directly. Those who got update check their phone and i possible send a screenshot of the system version. You will see that it is different hope it clears your doubt.

Can i get the link for this information please? i mean from where did you knew this?
The info which baner bro said seems to be promising..
i had purchased my mobile in august 1st week , so had no chance of getting inbuilt stagefright update .. so we need to get stagefright FIX, so we got updated..
to confirm this anomaly.. lets do onething.. you check for StageFright vulnerabilities.. if yours is stagefright patched.. then you would not have any need for the updates we got !!

Goto help app and ask motorrola why im not getting updates even my friend on another build number got that. They will tell you the same thing what i have told to you.
I have the latest patch and I still have two vulnerabilities. Contacting Motorola is pretty useless though. I'm not that worried though because I use Textra as my messaging app and it like most of the other 3rd party MMS apps have the fix built in. If you're that worried, look at Chomp and Textra which are both better than the stock app.

Check your phone now
Looks like the update for our phones is a little late, but is available for previous gen models.

That's because we are special ?
But there seems to be a relevant cause as of why it's late. Changelog speaks of changes/fixes regarding Pixel Wallet. Maybe they'll announce it at the beginning of the upcoming week. And there are a lot of fixes IMHO:

I'd rather wait a week to receive a well-rounded, polished update rather than something half-baked for the sake of releasing it at the originally projected time frame. Absolutely no issue for me!
Well here we are. December 9th, still no update! Wow.

It's available OTA for me but I stopped it, I think I'm gonna try flashing it and maybe I'll end up with a unlocked bootloadt (Verizon)

I tried this, but keep getting installation failed. *shrug*
Whoops, I believe due to custom kernel, lol.

Yeah got the same, but I don't know how to revert to the stock kernel. If someone managed to share a flashable zip, we can flash the stock kernel, remove magisk then install the OTA and flash again magisk + kernel after.

I just got the boot.img from the factory image, fastboot flash boot --slot all boot.img
Installed OTA and re-rooted, flashed FrankenKernel.

That's a lot of words. I like moving pictures with people talking. Easier for the brain.
Just got this update today and it seems to be going well unfortunately I'm missing the photo blur feature on the Google photos app and all apps and software are updated to December update. Plus the photos app specifically updated 6 hours ago so for some reason it's wired but I can't see that feature so I just have to double tap on the option instead of having the suggestion.
Also I don't know how much truth there is to this but apparently Google photos will allow you to share photos in full resolution. But I doubt that effects the uploads. Lastly I heard that this update also brought a brand new Google assistant? It's wired because I already had the brand new assistant when I got my device a few weeks back after I changed my device language to English US.
Please let me know if anyone else has missing features that were supposed to be included in the December update.
