Crap.... I can confirm also on the D850.... DO NOT UPDATE until we know what it exactly is.

Does anyone know the time limit between an update popping up(being able to dismiss and postpone it) and then being forced?

Did not see that, thanks!
I'm completely stock at the moment so I just did the disable OTA from the hidden dialer menu that can be found in the lounge thread. Hope that's enough to prevent any unwanted updates while I fix up the PC in the meantime

Is this the lollypup update? Or some other security crap

This is not the Lollipop update. Its an OTA to address some bugs, security issues, and remove/add some bloatware.
Personally I wouldn't be surprised if its AT&T slipping something else in to mess with root or worse.
I'd avoid it till you hear from others what the downsides are.

Last I saw some people weren't able to bump their phone after it. I may be wrong though.
****Edit: It supposedly patches towel root. Definitely avoid for now if you plan on flashing Roms in the near future.

Software Update AT&T LG G# 850
I disabled the OTA update by dialing 3845#*850# but still get the software update notification. Is there another way to disable OTA updates that makes it stick. I don't want to lose root and twrp recovery. Does anybody know which files to freeze in Titanium Backup so the OTA update will not pop up?

Excellent question. I've been looking for a while, as well.

Odd - I received the notification and accepted the OTA, yet did not lose root.

My phone forced the update last night and it seemed I didn't have root this morning, but I just installed SuperSU again from Play Store, and it was able to update itself and I had root again after it rebooted.

I re-enabled ota and cleared dalvik and cache and now I see a message saying invalid update and to re-download. Will try again when I get home.

I froze Software Update in Titanium Backup and have not gotten a forced update or nay since yesterday.

[Q] I've Got an OTA waiting.... What could it be?

Im running Prime 2.1 but i have a notification that an update is available. I thought the OTA service was pulled from Prime ROM which makes me think its not ICS... but what if it is?
Any way to download without installing? If I install and it is ICS I would lose root and I can't live that way.
I noticed someone else from the UK also has an update notification.

BTW, I work in IT shop, Slider just got some minor update today for WW region so it is possible that they r pushing it to tf101 too. It's nothing major tho. If u running prime rom, i'd stick to it since the OTA update is completely bull****

You guys crack me up. More should post new threads saying there's an OTA update just to make people to go back to stock. I swear there are people in every thread that say "I went back to stock but nothing."
Too much work. I'll wait for ASUS to post it.

Backup, restore to a stock backup, nada, restore to first backup. Too easy.
I'm not rooted on here, but if it's like every other android device I had it takes all but 5 minutes... and if an ICS update means that much, might be worth the repeated 5 minute restores.
Just my 2 cents.

also it is says "system file update detected" thats not comon imo. Usually it has to be downloaded 1st and notification shows up before that. seems like u already have the update on ur tablet.
Why not install ota updates? Anything wrong with ota updates?

Can someone help me out?
Today the update showed up but upon hitting "YES" to update the phone booted into Clockwork Mod Recovery v5.8.4.5 and it says that the signature verification failed and it has me reboot to a "your update has failed" message. I have looked in my advanced section of CMR but there isn't anything there to disable signatures.
Any ideas? thanks!

Does anyone know how to block it? I bought my used S3 rooted and have done a lot of customization that I don't want to lose. On my previous phone there were a few programs that I had to freeze (using Titanium Pro). Can someone tell if that can also be done on the S3? And is there a way to delete the file to free up the 50MB?
Thanks!

Jelly Bean Official OTA Approved by Verizon

Please be informed the VRBLK3 has just been approved by Verizon as the official Jelly Bean OTA build.
Details + Support Documentation - ETA 12/14/2012 (This Friday)

Absolute failure by Verizon. Verizon's list of features has typos and they don't have a damn clue what Google Now is! C'mon man!
'Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software updrade.' Really?
And why is the Google Now screenshot labled as Google Plus?
Furthermore, why do all the screenshots contain on screen soft keys? WTF Verizon!?
Obviously, Verizon has no clue about software and the Android OS. Makes me wonder why the updates take so long!

Broken help was actually a bug in my previous prep method for the leaks. I have fixed that on the last leak as of 12/10. Refer to the new K3 No-Wipe Fixed image in my thread.
Wonder if this would fix the home button going back to home screen when screen itself is off. That or if its already been fixed by a dev I'll take it.

It will only show you OTA if you have the official build (last OTA version was VRALHE). If you flashed any of my earlier leaks you won't get the OTA and will have to flash VRBLK3 manually from my thread. Otherwise you will get the OTA and it will just remove root and relock your bootloader.
The ironic thing is that in order to reroot and unlock your bootloader after the OTA you have to reflash VRBLK3 manually from my guide anyways so if you're looking to keep root, custom recovery, or unlocked bootloader after the OTA, just don't bother with the OTA and follow the guide from my thread to get on the OTA early.

actually i think it will only show the ota if you have the stock recovery. if you flashed CWR or TWR then you will have to wait until one of the devs here root it for us. or odin back to stock and upgrade from there.
So those of us who have been on the K3 leak have been on the OTA? Or is there a chance they'll make additional changes to the OTA...?

There will b no changes they have decided after testing. . I hope... they don't get all jumpy and add things at the last minute that would b 6 months from now if they wanted anything changed.. unless it was critical.

Not yet. Do you think ioroot will work? That's how I rooted on d80110c. Is there another root method that will work with any stock rom since ioroot says it's only for the shipping rom? yeah, I don't think they did anything to the camera. It still has that annoying breathing issue with the focus. They might have fixed the Knock Knock issues some people were having with the screen not coming on consistently. I haven't noticed that I have had to double tap multiple times for the screen to come on so far.
The brightness slider is different. If auto is checked you cant move the slider any more.
How long?
How long did the process take? Mine seems to get stuck at downloading software everytime. I don't get a status bar at all.
The actual update took about 10 minutes on a slow computer. Downloading the 1.75GB file took forever.

My own Unofficial Changelog since the one Razer provided was lacking
Added 8.1 features such as PiP, smart text, new power menu and switch off/reboot animation
Added Updated Dialer (looks more like the Pixel Dialer now)
Added "Colour" under "Display" to tune the display between "Natural" "Boosted" and "Vivid"
Fixed Crashing Issue with Netflix and Google Play Movies
Updated Dolby Atmos Application and equaliser
If you have any issues/bugs please post with a detailed description of it and if it can be replicated. Also upload any bug reports to your Google Drive and share the link here so the developers can take a look.
How to Take a Bug report.
Activate Developer Settings by going to Settings>System>about phone and tap the build number repeatedly.
Once done go back once and you should see "Developer Options"
In here press "Take Bug Report" and then "Full Report"
Wait a bit and you'll see a notification, press it and upload to Google Drive
Once in Google Drive get the link for the .zip file and make sure the sharing settings are changed to "anyone can edit" and then share the direct link to the file here.
I know this sounds like a lot but it's very easy and really helps the developers.
Downloading now. Hopefully will be a good update considering how long it took.
Already installed (on a de-branded phone, btw). It looks like the screen is about 10% brighter than it was before the update, but I may be wrong. Has anyone else noticed the same?

Someone on the Razer forums said the same thing.
If someone could test something for me I would be very greatful but you have to follow these steps exactly and let me know the outcome. The Theme isn't the cause it's just easier to see.
go to System settings>display>colours and change the colour scheme to "Vivid"
Change your theme to something vibrant like flat green or crimson from the razer theme store
Change the theme on Gboard to something bright like red/green
open Google chrome and tap the field box so the keyboard appears
now swipe the quick toggles all the way down with no notifications making sure the keyboard is still up
Now when you look at your quick toggles is the colour switching from vivid to normal by itself? been trying to find the cause of this on my unit but was a bit hard with hardly anyone on the dev preview.
It will be interesting to see if the Three variant has the update delayed. I am still struggling with debranding mine but if the update does roll out with the SIM free devices I will stop trying.

Hi,
Is there any new settings such as haptic feedback vibration settings?
God knows how long we will have to wait for factory images to be released.
As those of us who are on the DP will not receive the OTA, and cannot roll back to N neither
To those of you that don't have the update yet, just install a VPN app like protonvpn and connect to a US server, then check for updates...
Thank me later.

Damn, it worked for me, I live outside the US ans had no update available, after the vpn connection from US I was offered the update at first try. Try other servers in US maybe. They sais rollout is in wave. Maybe not all of the US is being served.

its working btw Thanks dude !! im so happy with this update !!
Stock recovery should be able to flash it, it's the same file your device would download.
Whats the correct way to install the OTA???
Fully fresh install DP 1 and then the OTA over it??? (I'm using the DP 1, but I rooted and messed with some files already, I want the fully fresh experience).
Best regards

In my case, I already instal DP1 .. and then roll back to nougat version via fastboot .. then relock the bootloader.
And then update via adb sideload the OTA update

All right then.
So, first install the factory image: https://developer.razer.com/razer-p...210.450019206.1523910795-820167234.1522079918
Then relock the bootloader.
And then ADB Sideload the OTA.
I heard some users had problems downgrading from the DP1 to N, you had any issue???
Best regards,
