Those PDF files don't mention anything about jellybean k3. They are for the HE version. And I don't think jellybean will only be a 62mb update

I take it this one and the leak that are the same exact numbers are 100% identical with no changes whatsoever?

Droid life just tweeted this, not sure what it means.
Verizon just changed the Galaxy S3 JB support doc back to some old minor update.

I'm sure it's just vzw's "oops" moment. I'm still sure we'll see it this week. Fingers crossed.

Absolute failure by Verizon. Verizon's list of features has typos and they don't have a damn clue what Google Now is! C'mon man!
'Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software updrade.' Really?
And why is the Google Now screenshot labled as Google Plus?
Furthermore, why do all the screenshots contain on screen soft keys? WTF Verizon!?
Obviously, Verizon has no clue about software and the Android OS. Makes me wonder why the updates take so long!

Does this mean it will not be fixed in this ota?

Broken help was actually a bug in my previous prep method for the leaks. I have fixed that on the last leak as of 12/10. Refer to the new K3 No-Wipe Fixed image in my thread.

Wonder if this would fix the home button going back to home screen when screen itself is off. That or if its already been fixed by a dev I'll take it.

IF, IF , IF this really happens..... I am rooted and unlocked, thats it. Will I still be able to get the OTA update? If no, what do I need to do to get the OTA when it is rolled out?
Thanks in advance

It will only show you OTA if you have the official build (last OTA version was VRALHE). If you flashed any of my earlier leaks you won't get the OTA and will have to flash VRBLK3 manually from my thread. Otherwise you will get the OTA and it will just remove root and relock your bootloader.
The ironic thing is that in order to reroot and unlock your bootloader after the OTA you have to reflash VRBLK3 manually from my guide anyways so if you're looking to keep root, custom recovery, or unlocked bootloader after the OTA, just don't bother with the OTA and follow the guide from my thread to get on the OTA early.

actually i think it will only show the ota if you have the stock recovery. if you flashed CWR or TWR then you will have to wait until one of the devs here root it for us. or odin back to stock and upgrade from there.

So those of us who have been on the K3 leak have been on the OTA? Or is there a chance they'll make additional changes to the OTA...?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

There will b no changes they have decided after testing. . I hope... they don't get all jumpy and add things at the last minute that would b 6 months from now if they wanted anything changed.. unless it was critical.

2.3.6 update for AT&T skyrocket...

Yes to both.
If all you did was root, you should be able to keep it when flashing. Others have reported that it stays. If you flashed a custom recovery though, it would be wise to flash back to stock first before updating. You can get root after by flashing CWM with odin and then installing the zip file for root.

Same thing here. I have the SGSII Skyrocket and the update for 2.3.6 was available to me four days ago. Weird that some folks do not have the update available OTA.
As some people have mentioned, there might have been an issue with the update and maybe it was pulled but it does exist. I have no reason to lie.

2.3.6
I got my Skyrocket two weeks ago from AT&T and it came with 2.3.6. On another note, I've had no success trying to root it. Keep getting the following result. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
U need to use this method to root acs easy root on click does not work on 2.3.6 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340526
guess i will have to wait for Sonja to get the kk1........running 2.3.6 though.

[Q] I've Got an OTA waiting.... What could it be?

Im running Prime 2.1 but i have a notification that an update is available. I thought the OTA service was pulled from Prime ROM which makes me think its not ICS... but what if it is?
Any way to download without installing? If I install and it is ICS I would lose root and I can't live that way.
I noticed someone else from the UK also has an update notification.

Backup, restore to a stock backup, nada, restore to first backup. Too easy.
I'm not rooted on here, but if it's like every other android device I had it takes all but 5 minutes... and if an ICS update means that much, might be worth the repeated 5 minute restores.
Just my 2 cents.

New ATRIX2 GB Firmware, probably for AT&T Variant

Hi everyone, yesterday i was checking the website "http://sbf.droid-developers.org/" and i found a new firmware, nothing new really, it looks like a full 2.3.6 Fastboot files for A2, AT&T users, did somebody try it?
The stock we use to get back to stock is
InlineFlashing_edison_5.5.175.16_cfc_p3_APBP_CID285.zip
The new one is:
InlineFlashing_edison_5.5.175.25_cfc_p3_APBP.xml.zip

If there is a new Bootloader may be we wouldn't be able to go back or probably we would, not sure, i've been around Motorola's website and i saw that they are working to unlock the bootloaders, hopefully with the future ICS OTA we could probably have an option in fastboot to unlock it, would be awesome.. About this firmware we don't know what we could find. Probably nothing interesting but at least we know that Motorola is still working in MB865.

Jim! I flashed the firmware, its the FULL 2.3.5 WITH the OTA update to 2.3.6 so its a full 2.3.6 for att variants, system version 55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US so its safe to flash!
I know that DROID RAZR users got an update that made their devices ready for the ICS upgrade. Their update seem to not change anything ...
Would this save us a step when trying to install the ICS leak?

Could be, its exactly the same as the OTA Update but the Full FXZ so people won't need to flash 2.3.5 then apply the OTA, with this, which is the same as the OTA you can skip 1 step and flash directly the leak or simply wait to receive the official OTA which is on the way, next month probably..

Kinda confused is it just the radio update ?? Because going by size doesnt look like whole ROM.Can anyone confirm what is this please.
i see the same thing...curious indeed...
perhaps Moto threw us a bone and because its a Dev leak its an incremental update to full OTA... HA
I suggest downloading and not installing (well, you probably won't be able to anyway unless you are on stock ICS) - but then go to /cache folder and copy the update to your sdcard and/or computer and open it to look inside...
I am curious about what this is also... definitely too small for the entire ICS package... which system version do you have?
downloading...
i did also notice there is a release notes URL in the notification, though it brings you to the crappy Motohelp browser page and i'm too busy munching on lunch to follow it through...
btw I too am on SCV7 w/ System version 67.21.123.MB865.ATT.en.US
EDIT: I have it downloaded and sitting on my HD if any dev wants to poke at it. Let me know if/how you want it uploaded.
EDIT2: Attached a listing of files so you can compare sizes and such if that helps.
@seeyoudouble thanks for downloading. I was about to start the download and up it.But can you it please and send to some dev
Thanks in advance.
I would take a look...
It seems like an update for the leak (or, to be more precise, for the Moto devs on that first leaked ics build) - it will probably update you to the non-downgradable leak#2 - NO ONE SHOULD INSTALL THIS YET!
Sent from my phone's mind
I also have the same message, did somebody tried to install this? By the way im using ATT MB865 ICS leak rooted.
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
It is not wise to install this yet. Let the devs have a good look at it first.
I too have the message. ICS LEAK #1 rooted.
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app
i definitely do not plan on updating as I am quite content with my phone the way it is until CM10 achieves maximum sexiness...
i merely wanted to give those that care an opportunity to chew on it and see if there is anything worthwhile...
Everyone on the first leaked AT&T ICS build will be receiving this OTA update notice.
!!!DO NOT INSTALL IT!!!
...or you will be locked down even more and definitely not able to return to GB - ever.
More to come...
This has the mbloader_ns.bin again????? Been looking at this and temped to try , tempted but not sure yet.....
I've got the notification, too.
Non trap version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879475
Well, Moto is at it again..
All AT&T users on the first ICS leak build will receive a notification for an OTA update package. This new package will bring your device up to the current ICS build that Moto is planning on releasing officially to everyone very soon. This new mini-update package will replace your cdt.bin with the same one found in the second ICS leak, and lock you in a state of no return to GB. No FXZ will be able to help you...
Yes, there is a mbmloader_ns.bin included in this update, but again, it is useless to us at this point - it is only for Moto devs who are using NS bootloaders - but, it appears this update will install for anyone on the first leak, regardless of your bootloader status. So, you have been warned..
DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE IF YOU LIKE BEING ABLE TO FXZ BACK TO GB
Well I really got nothing to loose and gave it a shot no go for me update failed..... Even used stock recovery to try and fail verify check?????? O well now i can roll back for OTA still!!!!!

Wait, were you on fresh and clean stock ICS when you tried to install? or have you modded it? BootMenu and/or Safestrap can also cause install failures...
You can check /cache/recovery/last_log to see why it failed..

Yea.. BootMenu will botch the installation. Also won't install if you have removed certain system apps (some seemingly just bloat).

OK, I am on the very first ics leak. I want to end up completely ics stock. This is my everyday phone and I have an old captivate for Roms and such.
Is there any reason not to install the 46 mb update? Yes I understand I will not be able to go back or mess with boot loaders etc. I have no desire to do so.
Alternatively, I would script back to GB and OTA back up to ICS.
Thanks,

I would not install it just in case Motorola decides to change something and you end up on this locked down version with no way forward or back.

Well... that's your choice completely. But, at this point we honestly have no idea if it can actually be installed by average users on the first leak (I say this because everyone who has tried has failed for one reason or another; also because inside is only an mbmloader_ns.bin, no "hs" like we have, but from the looks of the updater-script, it seems like everything else should install as long as it passes the patch checks for existing files).
We just started warning right away because, yes, this would, in theory, put you up to the version of ICS we found in the latest leak. Which, for all intents and purposes, seems to be pretty close to the real deal (it's been on the server for at least a week straight now).
Which leads me to a question for you: why not just wait for the full official ota then? Probably pretty soon from the looks of things..
But, yes, I believe you could install that update on a clean system of the first ICS leak.

Don't Install 5.1.1 YET!!! Understand it first

CAUTION with 5.1.1 UpdateG925PVPU2B0F7I've been spending some time reading T-mobiles issues with the update. This isn't a super new conversation, but is probably new to many Sprint users. The update appears have rollback protection, which effects both kernel and bootloader from what they are saying... Which I find slightly confusing since I didn't think that their was a locked bootloader on the US versions (maybe someone can assist with that)
Figured we could start the conversation early for Custom Root/Recovery/etc. users, so that we may save some of us some trouble with Soft/Hard brinks in the next week or so.
This is the thread I've been looking at.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s6-edge/general/psa-odin-5-1-1-t3136151
EDIT:
NO, the bootloader is not locked with the 5.1.1 update.
Rather, "Factory Reset Protection" (an Android thing - not a Samsung thing!) is now an option, which allows you to lock the bootloader yourself, protecting your device from someone installing a custom recovery, wiping your device and making it their own. It makes the device somewhat less valuable, and therefore (supposedly) less likely to be stolen.
The 5.1.1 upgrade looks to be a "permanent" upgrade, meaning we're not able to revert back to 5.0.2 kernels and recoveries.
So, I would suggest to sit tight with your current set up. In order to customize our devices we will need to wait for:
A) Root for 5.1.1
-Root has been achived: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...elopment/5-1-1-stock-of7-kernel-root-t3153396
B) Samsung to post the source code for the new kernel.
C) Custom Recovery
-Recovery has been achived:
Once we have the above, we can get back to modding our devices.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
Interesting article, I remember several other older Samsung devices where you could not downgrade bootloaders and modems. IE Galaxy S3, note 3, s5. But there was still root, Roms and the ability to flash kernels. Hopefully there's no need to go back anyway. The kernel thing is something new so I may hold off on upgrading. Thanks for the info

This is my first Samsung, so the whole root recovery process was almost too smooth since I've been on the HTC side for 5 years. Unlocking bootloaders, S-off and requesting tokens to push.. Ugh, as must as I likes HTC and Sense, that sucked.
I think I'm holding off as well, untill Sac23/ Ram9200 might have spare time to look over the update first and make sense of it all and could at least get it to where V.2 is right now. But it sounds like the Kernel could be our hold up, without Hybridmax's current support.

Yea but based off of my years of experience and having Samsung devices, I'm pretty sure that someone will find a way moving forward, but going back probably won't happen. I too had an HTC evo years back lol and I couldn't stand the root process. I feel your pain. But yea it may be wise just to wait for a while on the update

I've been keeping up with the thread. Looks like T-Mobile got it worked out and looks like it didn't affect the international variant. US cellular just got it. Let's see what happens with them

That makes sense. Thank you for the confirmation. 5.1.1 is only a stock update for the time being
