Snapchat troubles? Here's your solution!

Hi all,
I've seen some people experiencing video recording issues on latest versions of Snapchat on our Xperia M2, either on Stock Lollipop ROM or in Custom ROMs, such as Xperia Z5 STYLE, so I decided to investigate it.
I found out that the latest fully-working version of Snapchat for our device is 9.21.1.0, which doesn't have most of it's new features, but at least doesn't crash while taking a video.
So, in case you want to downgrade to it, fully uninstall Snapchat from your device, and ensure you don't have Xposed Framework installed (you may need to use Xposed Uninstaller for that).
Once done, take the APK from APKmirror.com or from my OneDrive, and install it. Login to your account, and voilà, video recording works again!
Remember to disable Google Play Store auto-updates to avoid overwritting the version we installed, and to install Xposed Framework in case you had it before.
This might happen on some other old devices too, so feel free to let me know if this worked for your device!
Enjoy!

[Root] Issues with Facebook app and Play Store on Android 7.1.1

Hi,
I have an Xperia XZ dual sim (F8332) with :
An unlocked bootlader
Android 7.1.1 (build number 41.2.A.2.199)
AndropPlus Kernel version 3.18.31-v24
TWRP version 3.0.2-4,
Root with SuperSU v2.79
All flashed with Flashtool, following this wonderful guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/how-to-unlock-bl-kernel-twrp-root-t3541648
I have noticed that when my device is rooted with this configuration, after about a day (variable), I encounter two problems :
- Facebook app : no more refresh possible. I still have notifications but when clicking on them they lead to nothing. After a couple of try, the app becomes unusable, tells me to refresh as if I was offline and nothing happens. On my device, Facebook is shipped with the phone as a factory application. So is Twitter, but is seems to be OK so far.
- The Play Store works (I can download apps) but I don't have any images : no thumbnails, no screenshots... Only text and green layouts.
I tried to flash again Android 7.1.1 without wiping datas (restoring default kernel and voiding root), the apps work normally again. I assume this has to deal with the custom kernel or the root.
Solutions I tried (but failed) :
1)
boot in recovery mode
wipe dalvik/cache
reboot
wipe cache & datas from : Google Play Store, Google Play Services for Instant Apps, Services Google Play, Facebook
2)
log out from Facebook / Google account and log again
3)
uninstalling Facebook and Google Play with a root app uninstaller
install them again the usual way
So far I don't have more idea of what the problem might be. Do you encounter the same issues or have any idea about it ? Tell me if you need more information.
Thank you.

No Gapps Guide&Tutorial (MicroG)

Hi guys, this is an Tutorial of installing MicroG.
MicroG is an alternative to Gapps that includes:
Service Core: Is a library app, providing the functionality required to run apps that use Google Play Services or Google Maps Android API. (GmsCore)
Services Framework Proxy: Is a small helper utility to allow apps developed for Google Cloud to Device Messaging (C2DM) to use the compatible Google Cloud Messaging service included with GmsCore. (GsfProxy)
Unified Network Location Provider: Is a library that provides Wi-Fi- and Cell-tower-based geolocation to applications that use Google’s network location provider. It is included in GmsCore but can also run independently on most Android systems. (UnifiedNlp)
Maps API: Is a system library, providing the same functionality as now deprecated Google Maps API (v1). (mapsv1)
Store: Is a frontend application providing access to the Google Play Store to download and update applications. (Phonesky) [Same functionality and looks as the Gplaystore]
Why you would want to install MicroG instead of Gapps?
1.More privacy
2.Uses very little ram and memory
3.OGYoutube, an youtube app that works only with MicroG and has backround playback and downloads directly from the app
How to install MicroG:
Prerequisites:
In order for MicroG to work, it needs to pretend to be the official implementation of Play Services. To do this, MicroG must be able to spoof Google’s Play Service’s package signature.
Signature spoofing is not available in most custom ROMs, though patches are available for ROM developers to include in their project. For Marshmallow and Nougat ROMs, spoofing is provided as a runtime permission that the user can grant or deny to apps, which is an added bonus.
If your Rom doesen't include Signature spoofing then you can activate Signature spoofing with: Tingle/Haystack/NanoDroid/FakeGapps[Xposed Module]
First option:
Download Services Core, Service Framework Proxy, UnifiedNpl and FakeStore if you want to install other stores than the Official Google play store. (Yald Store, F-Droid etc)
Install them. After that go to MicroG settings and click on self-check, give MicroG the permissions required and check "System grants signature spoofing permission" if its not checked. To log in to Phonesky you need to enable Google device registration in microG settings, after that make any changes you want to the settings.
For more Advanced things check out: https://shadow53.com/android/no-gapps/setup-guide/3/ and https://shadow53.com/android/no-gapps/setup-guide/4/
Option two:
Flash MicroG from Recovery
Dowloads:
MicroG: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657595051
PlayStore: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850504869
Patched-Playstore: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673956719939831837

Microg&Patched-Playstore: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754472306
Flash any of theese in recovery.
Option three:
Download from https://downloads.nanolx.org/NanoDroid/Stable/
I recommend NanoDroid-MicroG.....zip
Go to Magisk Manager, Go to Modules and add the NanoDroid zip that you like.
Thats it.
Or is it?
How to install OGYoutube:
Install the modified MicroG apk from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/ogmods...-apk-download/ (Its made so OGYoutube could work correctly)
Install OGYoutube apk from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/ogmods...-apk-download/
[To make more apps work wihout play services, that MicroG doesen't include you can install "This app will run wihout google play services" Xposed Module]
You are DONE!
Give me a thanks if i helped you

Add Needle and this link also https://github.com/microg/android_packages_apps_GmsCore/tree/master/patches and also For above tools give embedded links...

Why you said to install UnifiedNlp if GmsCore also said to install?
Also Yald Store = Yalp Store

Hey. Thanks for this. This was an old guide in my nooby times and i didn't have time to update it. I will update it when i can with useful informations.
Hi,
Informations are quite clear but i still need information regarding my specific case.
I have a OnePlus 6 (OxygenOS 9).
I'd love to get ride of all Google stuff and have MicroG as I have on another mobile phone (LineageOSMicroG).
If i flash from recovery NanoDroid on my existing rom (i don't have Magisk).
What will happen exactly ?
Will i loose something from my device ?
Will i get MicroG AND still all the Google apps ?
Will i get just MicroG and the Google apps will have been removed ?
Sorry if it looks stupid questions.

If interested, here I posted the whole story how I went GApps-free from the very beginning until nowadays using mainly NanoDroid modules.
I did install MicroG on a ArrowOS 9.0 ROM. Signature spoofing seems to work, the self check looks good.
Still Apps complain they need Google Play. What's wrong?
howdy folks.
just catching up on this thread and this wonderful substitute for gapps is something that I had already fascinated me just that I became where it does exist. before I install it after removing my gas on a custom rom that I have ... I am sure it has progressed through a bunch of correction cycles so I'd want to know where it stands as of now for the following functionality .
-Google voice dictation voice to text is it working with this substitute
-Gmail
-Google maps live directions. should be able to turn on GPS Google maps and get live directions while driving
-Hangouts
-Google documents specifically only looking for Google PDF reader Google docs and spreadsheets
-syncing contacts and dictionary
-Google drive and photos
the last one having the least priority for me
would someone please Care to reply to my bullets...a bulleted reply as to what works and to what extent, and specifically in what hardware environment if it is available.
thank you so much for all your hard work and efforts.
also when you reply please leave a link where people like me can donate to your good work

Samsung Galaxy S6 (G9200) with Rooted Stock Rom failed to install Gapps

I am using Android 7.0 Stock ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S6 (G9200) with a baseband version of G9200ZCS2ERC1 and security patch of ASKS v1.4 Release180122 SMR Mar-2018 Release 1. After I use Open Gapps 23 October 2018 ARM64 Android 7.0 pico in TWRP, I cannot login with Google Play or other Google apps if I use a network that bypasses GFW in China. If I use SSR or other VPN apps on my Samsung S6 to bypass the GFW, the Google Play Service would crash (and sometimes it would turn into black screen if I use multi threads in webview enabled in development options).
If I remove Open Gapps and use Go Google (a Chinese apps that installs Gapps for you), once it installs Google Services Framework, I would get repeated crashing modal popping up. I will need to pm uninstall gsf in adb. Same with installing Google Services Framework 7.0-3037786 from apkmirror or moving Gapps’ gsf from /system/priv-app to /system/app.
Typically I noticed all third party ROMs that I installed required to flash Gapps immediately after flashing the ROM or after doing a factory reset. I think it could be that I already installed a bunch of apps and used the phone for a while now without Gapps. I really would prefer to not backup everything and recover them after a factory reset.
It turns out that even if I do a factory reset and flash Open Gapps in TWRP it would still crash when Google Play Services is running as a result I can’t even get into the system because I would first need to log in once Google Play Services is installed before the system is initialized. Now I think this version of Stock ROM (G9200 for China) blocks Play Services or Services Framework. I will try to install some custom ROM during the weekend and see if I can get it to work.
