I was recording a lot of important videos this past weekend and I didnt realize that my SD card was having issues with my phone and continuously ejecting itself. It seems to have jacked up my videos and pictures! It has saved my videos as .TMP files and my pictures will not open up despite seemingly being full size picture files. Any tips on how to recover or correct the pictures and videos? I really would like to save them!
I used a Samsung S7 edge FYI
You could try 'recuva' on a pc, but if the file structure of that card mucked up, you wont get anything.

I presume you have already tried renaming the files as jpg or avi etc...

Already tried renaming them but some videos and pics are fine thats why I think the card just ejected while I was recording so maybe the header information just needs to be fixed.

I forget, is there an option to limit the files at a certain size? If you kept it high enough, it would skip the small notification alerts, etc. I haven't used it in a long time so...

This article says if you put a blank file called .nomedia the media scanner will skip that directory, but I'm not sure if that would stop the system from using them too.

Is there an option to select the folder that music is imported from? Could be that it is currently set to retrieve everything on the device instead of for example /sdcard/music
Hope this helps

no, it read all device storage!
this is yet another reason why 99% of people Don't use the stock music player, the 2 typical options are to put all your music on the external sd card and then put a .nomedia file on the root of the internal as has already been mentioned, but even that is not perfect as the stock media scanner sucks balls, it will skip perfectly good songs just because of some kind of error in there ID3 tags aswell, for these reasons it is best to get a BETTER player with most importantly it's own media scanner, personally I use POWERAMP, it will allow you to select only specific folders, or the file size thing, like mentioned before and doesn't have the faults of the stock scanner (I had like 40 more mp3's come up on it's scanner versus the stock one).

I had to do a factory reset on Xperia Z1 and erased everything. Lost the demo videos, the trailers and the photos from across the world. Can anyone tell me where I can get them. I have the wallpapers and videos sorted.

Is the device completely stock or has it been rooted? If stock have you tried a complete reset? What player are you using to play local content? What Type of local movie file are you trying to play? Try MX player from the play store on a local video and see if it stutters.

It is completely stock. I do use mx player. It doesn't matter if the video is streaming or if it's downloaded to internal storage it still lags. I'll give that ROM a try, I have been looking for ROMs and couldn't find any. Even through Google. Thanks

First, my phone: SM-N910T Note 4 w/ 6.0.1 not rooted
This began over the weekend, this being that when I select a video via Gallery that what is played instead appears to be the first video on my phone in order of file name regardless of the file location. It starts with a video in the Video folder on my SD card before moving on to a video I made with my camera wherever those are stored. Trying to play a video not on the SD card results in the same different files being played.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, with no success. Does anyone have an idea?

Hello
As my Nexus 5x got not much memory left, i was wondering if it was possible to record a video but no to store the file on the phone but on my PC through wifi?
With that, i will be able to record long videos without any memory issues.
Thanks.
I cant really think of a possible way but you can mirror your phone's screen on your PC then record it..

Using this method will record onscreen buttons and camera buttons.
Not perfect.
Maybe another solution uploading the file directly online? youtube? drive?

Try using a wireless flash drive linked to the phone and set it up to store your videos to the wireless drive. Or use an OTG flash drive. Store the videos on the flash drive and then move them to PC if needed.
