Is the device completely stock or has it been rooted? If stock have you tried a complete reset? What player are you using to play local content? What Type of local movie file are you trying to play? Try MX player from the play store on a local video and see if it stutters.

It is completely stock. I do use mx player. It doesn't matter if the video is streaming or if it's downloaded to internal storage it still lags. I'll give that ROM a try, I have been looking for ROMs and couldn't find any. Even through Google. Thanks

htc video player?

not talking about watch but the video player that it plays like .mp4s or whatever its the only one that stretchs the video full screen on my sensation ive tried almost every video player on android market they all use like half the screen! any ideas?
I always use mVideoPlayer, has a lot of nice features. One if it is you can select how you want to zoom (fill screen (zoom), fill to aspect , fill screen(stretch)).
You can config this in normal settings or just change it per video.
I think that is what you are looking for?
nah i tried that it only stretched it halfway but thanks for the suggestion

I use MoboPlayer. I like it and it gives me volume control by touching/swiping the screen.

Woohoo!
qqplayer is pretty decent
my top 3
best movie players "i've" found for the sensation (in order):
Dice player
VPlayer
Android Video Player
These play .avi's well and seem to produce the best picture quality (for me at least).
MoboPlayer or PlayerPro

Hence the confusion.

DirecTV app for streaming?

I have the DirecTV Android app on my phone (HTC Rezound, with Android 4.0.3) and on my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, with Android 4.0.4).On my phone, I can stream movies just fine. On my tablet, if I choose the same movie and tap Watch Movie, it pauses for a second or two then says DirecTV has stopped and kicks me back to the previous screen in the DirecTV app. But, I can tap Play Trailer, and that works. And I can use the HBO Go app, sign in with my DirecTV credentials, and stream movies from there and it works, too.
Anybody else using the DirecTV app? Successfully streaming any movies? Any idea why mine isn't working?
I'd also be curious if it works any differently for folks running CM10 on their GN10.
Give me a movie name you've tried.

Never mind. Same results.

FWIW, I'm not rooted.
I tried Underworld: Awakening, Cars 2, Back To The Future, Tangled Ever After, and a couple others.
I am rooted and I thought that might be my problem. But, my phone is also rooted and it works there.

Can someone Port the Music Player from GB 2.3.6

To what and for what? Why?
I don't think you will get anyone to do this since most people didn't use the stock music player from 2.3.6. Also, when you have a request for someone to do some work you should really consider adding a lot more info than just "can someone do it". I say this because, if it were something that "should" be done, it would have been done, attempted or talked about already; if there is a compelling reason to do something please share that compelling reason and maybe someone will feel the same way and port it. But requesting it just because you like the way it looks or something, will not get someone to use their free time to port something for "you".
I would also like to have it, the 2.3,6 music player had options like lyric search, album art fetching, video search for the now playing track.. and also music recognition. ICS music player has got good UI but I miss those things.. if someone gets it ported, it would be great

Camera record directly on a Pc

Hello
As my Nexus 5x got not much memory left, i was wondering if it was possible to record a video but no to store the file on the phone but on my PC through wifi?
With that, i will be able to record long videos without any memory issues.
Thanks.
I cant really think of a possible way but you can mirror your phone's screen on your PC then record it..

Using this method will record onscreen buttons and camera buttons.
Not perfect.

Try using a wireless flash drive linked to the phone and set it up to store your videos to the wireless drive. Or use an OTG flash drive. Store the videos on the flash drive and then move them to PC if needed.
