Can someone Port the Music Player from GB 2.3.6

To what and for what? Why?
I don't think you will get anyone to do this since most people didn't use the stock music player from 2.3.6. Also, when you have a request for someone to do some work you should really consider adding a lot more info than just "can someone do it". I say this because, if it were something that "should" be done, it would have been done, attempted or talked about already; if there is a compelling reason to do something please share that compelling reason and maybe someone will feel the same way and port it. But requesting it just because you like the way it looks or something, will not get someone to use their free time to port something for "you".
I would also like to have it, the 2.3,6 music player had options like lyric search, album art fetching, video search for the now playing track.. and also music recognition. ICS music player has got good UI but I miss those things.. if someone gets it ported, it would be great

Thanks for the suggestion, really looks impressive. Will give it a try.
You can download that music player from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933255
Its the same music player that we had in GB 2.3.6. I installed the .apk file and it works fine as of now. Have been using this instead of the new ICS music player.
I am having GB Music Player..
Hi, before updating to ICS, I ripped useful apps from GB. Music players works very fine with Lyrics Sync. But MotoBlur apps and Social networking apps don't owrk..

Dood's Music Streamer streams music from Grooveshark, but it has been removed from Google Play.
It's a free app, if anyone is interested, you can get it here: http://dms.mysticdeath.com/
Removed from Play Store? What the hell? Way to go, Google/Grooveshark.
I downloaded this from the play store a month ago. A few days after I noticed it was removed from the paly store, i can't play my grooveshark playlists anymore. :crying:
Why was it removed?
It allows you to download songs for offline usage, maybe Google has a problem with that.
There's a new page for this app: http://dms.mysticdeath.com/

I gives you free access to paid features of Grooveshark. Borderline piracy and Google wants to steer clear of that stuff. Whole reason why GS isn't in the play store.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
My guess would be that Google would prefer you purchase your content through play music. Rather than have easy access to a free alternative. I don't blame theme either. I'd do the same.
Sent from my Transformer using Tapatalk 2
GrooveShark decides anybody else using their service to offline cache music is illegal except through their own app.. which costs. Figures...
Does anywhere know where the app exports playlists too? I can't find a directory, i want to export my playlists to my other devices without having to redo them all.
thanks
I was searching it, thanks for sharing us DM streamer.

How do you activate shuffle in doods?
Seems like both Dood's and Tinyshark are not working in 4.4 :crying:
They were working on 4.4 but when I updated to 4.4.2 it broke compatibility with doods and other apps that have lock screen controls. Volume rocker mods won't work cause of the lockscreen issue.
Works for me using v1.3.3 on nexus 7. Just apply the new v2 of the ‘songs not playing fix’ (soft button, settings, songs not playing fix, on v2).
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Just a quick heads-up for everyone: The dev released a new version of the app,the 1.3.4 which is supposedly fixing bugs among the one which made the search by artist/album option not working.
Sign into grooveshark on Doods?
Is there a way to sign into doods music player so I can sync my playlists with Doods music player?

Sorry but you have to search for your Grooveshark username to download your playlist. So make sure it's a very unique name. I found out mine was not very unique and and to try about 25 of them before I found mine.

Be sure to update to the latest version if you are having issues with the IP Block issue on Android KitKat 4.4.2. Latest version is 1.3.6 as of this posting and it fixed my issues when on 4.4.2 on my Moto X on U.S. Cellular. You can get the latest version from his site shown below. Sorry mods if this is not allowed but he is a dev here on XDA and post this link himself:

I forget, is there an option to limit the files at a certain size? If you kept it high enough, it would skip the small notification alerts, etc. I haven't used it in a long time so...

This article says if you put a blank file called .nomedia the media scanner will skip that directory, but I'm not sure if that would stop the system from using them too.

Is there an option to select the folder that music is imported from? Could be that it is currently set to retrieve everything on the device instead of for example /sdcard/music
Hope this helps

no, it read all device storage!
this is yet another reason why 99% of people Don't use the stock music player, the 2 typical options are to put all your music on the external sd card and then put a .nomedia file on the root of the internal as has already been mentioned, but even that is not perfect as the stock media scanner sucks balls, it will skip perfectly good songs just because of some kind of error in there ID3 tags aswell, for these reasons it is best to get a BETTER player with most importantly it's own media scanner, personally I use POWERAMP, it will allow you to select only specific folders, or the file size thing, like mentioned before and doesn't have the faults of the stock scanner (I had like 40 more mp3's come up on it's scanner versus the stock one).

Is the device completely stock or has it been rooted? If stock have you tried a complete reset? What player are you using to play local content? What Type of local movie file are you trying to play? Try MX player from the play store on a local video and see if it stutters.

It is completely stock. I do use mx player. It doesn't matter if the video is streaming or if it's downloaded to internal storage it still lags. I'll give that ROM a try, I have been looking for ROMs and couldn't find any. Even through Google. Thanks
