Hello
As my Nexus 5x got not much memory left, i was wondering if it was possible to record a video but no to store the file on the phone but on my PC through wifi?
With that, i will be able to record long videos without any memory issues.
Thanks.
I cant really think of a possible way but you can mirror your phone's screen on your PC then record it..

Try using a wireless flash drive linked to the phone and set it up to store your videos to the wireless drive. Or use an OTG flash drive. Store the videos on the flash drive and then move them to PC if needed.

Is the device completely stock or has it been rooted? If stock have you tried a complete reset? What player are you using to play local content? What Type of local movie file are you trying to play? Try MX player from the play store on a local video and see if it stutters.

It is completely stock. I do use mx player. It doesn't matter if the video is streaming or if it's downloaded to internal storage it still lags. I'll give that ROM a try, I have been looking for ROMs and couldn't find any. Even through Google. Thanks

Here is how I got to work Spotify via vasting on my razer forge since even newest app would not detect it,new chromecasts and old ones are ok with it.
If you have amazon fire tv or fire tv stick or can use friends either device then all you need to do is log in with your amazon account and then extract spotify connect from fire stick or fire tv,then sideload it to your nexus player/shield/forge or sony android tv.
You also need to sideload amazon appstore (underground now) and log in with your account.
You will then be able to use spotify via casting from your phone tablet etc.
Take a look at my post on Razer Forums:

it won't do much for you unless you can disable Amazon DRM. It will only work with my account or - your account
What I can suggest that you make amazon account, download their appstore and download the spotify connect to your device and then you will be registered (at least add click to cart and purchase it for free) then hit me up and I will post APK for you.
It will work this way.
Connect apk
Yes can you please post the spotify connect apk you pulled, I have amazon app store and purchased the app. I tried using the 0.0.6 version on my nexus player but i think it's too out of date. Thank you

why not use Spoticast in the first place?
Anyway, this is all annoying and those are just cheap workarounds. We need this to work directly from the official Spotify app without any tinkering. As far as I can see, the Android TV Google Cast functionality has now been degraded to something you could call Google Cast Light ...or Google Cast 2nd Class. As both, a Spotify Premium and an Android TV user I hate to say I'm disappointed, especially since e.g. Deezer has been working without issues on Android TV for ages. Either I've missed it or neither Google nor Spotify have mentioned Android TV compatibility at all in this case. This is the beginning of Google Cast fragmentation...

There is no link to the APK and your account. If they have an amazon account they can just install the underground, login, install spotify, open spotify (dont have to do anything, just open it) then on your phone\tablet\whatever, choose the Asus NexusPlayer.

Spotify Connect APK attached. Amazon Underground can be obtained from here.
works for one song and then fails. Songs play but no audio

Apparently upgraded. Do you have the apk for 0.2?
Why not just use the Spotify add-on in Kodi?
I´m also interested in latest APK.

Is there a program that I can use that's easy to cut up the 360 video and delete bits I don't want?
m in need of such a program myself. Everything I use messes up the video when I upload to youtube.
Hi, you need to use a tool that maintains all the backend stuff that lets YouTube know it's 360 video. This basically means you need to spend *some* money on a decent video editing package. Freeware type stuff is likely not to work (as well as open up your editing computer to malware). Lots of people use Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro (essentially industry standard software for video editing) which are expensive to buy - but there are trials you can use to check 'em out. Cheaper options from companies like Magix are available - their MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus product allows for 360 editing and costs £70 (again there is a trial you can use).
Probably be helpful to hear what camera you're using, what you've used to edit and how it didn't work?
If it's any help, I'm just about to dip my toes into 360 video editing at work and I'm planning on using Adobe Premiere Pro for the main editing.
I don't have my cam yet but watched this video explaining how to do it. Installed one of the apps and seems simple enough to use going by what the video says.

Welp finally got my cam and done some playing. I need to figure out how to pull clips from videos. I tried putting videos on keyboard and it messes them up.
You can post videos to YouTube directly from phone.
What's really dum is toy have to keep the phone screen on when transferring from cam to phone.... complete fail

Probably be helpful to list the software that hasn't worked...
As I said above, to edit 360 video you need to use a package that keeps all the additional data (that flags it as 360 content) intact. Most freeware software will not do it properly (or at all) which is why it's distorted or not rendering as 360 video when you upload it. This means spending some cash, or using trial software or *cough* your preferred method of circumnavigating such restrictions.
Hey guys, I've been using Premiere to edit my 360 videos so I dont know about any free software that would allow you to edit your videos. What I do know is that any other program you use to edit will remove the metadata needed for Youtube or Facebook to know its a 360 video. There is a small piece of software, which is free, that you'll have to use to "inject" the metadata necessary to make it a 360 video again. Its super fast and easy to use. If you do a quick search in google for "360 metadata injector" you should be able to find a ton of results on where to download it and how to use it. Hope this helps.

Yes of course! Since this is an LG thread I assume we're talking about the LG 360 Cam and not the Ricoh Theta. The Ricoh Theta has PC software which the LG Cam doesn't. The LG 360 Cam is designed to work with a phone, this means that to get videos that you can later edit you'll need to download them through the phone app and then move them to your computer. In the process of downloading to the device, the app will also stitch your 360 video, this might be the reason why it takes so long for the video to download.
Once you have downloaded all the videos you want, move them to your computer. Use your favorite video editing software. Make sure that the aspect ratio does not change or gets cropped. The video resolution size should be 2560x1280. When you're happy with your editing, export/render your video. Now look for and download the software called "Spatial Media Metadata Injector" its free. This will allow you to re-add the metadata info that lets YouTube, Facebook or any other site that this is a 360 video. This info is lost when the video was edited. Open the program and choose the video you edited and select the "Spherical" check box. Now use the "Save As" and save the new "injected" video. That will be the video you'll want to post anywhere and it will be recognized as a 360 video.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Happy 360 shooting!

I have used Power Director 12 and Nero to attempt to edit them. I "inject" the metadata after editing them and it seems to be a normal 360 video prior to uploading them. Once uploaded they become distorted.

So, they're obviously mangling it in some other way (welcome to the world of video editing - the amount of times a codec behaving badly has made me want to cry...).
What format is the unedited footage saved as and what format have you outputted edited footage as prior to injecting the metadata?
---------- Post added at 10:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:02 PM ----------
Give Adobe Premiere a go editing to see if it maintains the 360 gubbins when you upload the edited footage, follow what @asainz320 said on the previous page for exporting.
That way you'll know it *will* work. Then it's a case of finding software that will edit within your price bracket.
Premiere Trial - https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/premiere
Adobe ain't gonna maintain it since it's already not there. When you copy a video over to a computer its already 2 fish eyes.
I found some app for the computer from another 360 cams website that you can watch them on computer but the stitching isnt great.

Yeah - you're right with the LG Cam. I've been messing around with a Theta S at work which produces similar duel fish eye footage. Can confirm that when you stitch that together and edit in Adobe Premiere, then inject the metadata the footage uploads perfectly to YouTube. So you need to find something to stitch the footage.
http://chrissniderdesign.com/blog/2015/11/23/how-to-edit-360-video-in-premiere/ is the workflow I'm using, doubt the free tool would work with LG Cam footage but it's free so worth a crack - if you want to pm me a short bit of footage from the LG Cam I'd be happy to run it through to confirm one way or the other.
I'm also going to try above workflow using the more modestly priced Sony Movie Studio so will confirm whether that works.
Once again. The LG 360 CAM was not meant to be used stand alone. You will need to download the videos to your phone before you can get something you can work with. There is no software yet to convert the raw videos from your LG camera.

So the LG Software on the LG Support Site doesn't allow you to convert footage externally to a camera? Cos this video seems to beg to differ.
well I'm using Ricoh Theta + video editor on iPhone for on the go video editing
I was recording a lot of important videos this past weekend and I didnt realize that my SD card was having issues with my phone and continuously ejecting itself. It seems to have jacked up my videos and pictures! It has saved my videos as .TMP files and my pictures will not open up despite seemingly being full size picture files. Any tips on how to recover or correct the pictures and videos? I really would like to save them!
I used a Samsung S7 edge FYI
You could try 'recuva' on a pc, but if the file structure of that card mucked up, you wont get anything.

Already tried renaming them but some videos and pics are fine thats why I think the card just ejected while I was recording so maybe the header information just needs to be fixed.
With Huawei video and old Panasonic excellent video and audio. No studders or skips.
Phone did get a little warm streaming a 1080 to the TV, split screening watching a 1080 on YouTube, surfing and fast charging at the same time. No skips jumps or studders. Damn this phone is powerful.

If you use Google messages you can. I bought a little USB c dock with an HDMI port and a few usb ports so I could use it like a laptop. Wonder if the house x3 works with it.

That's exactly what I am doing and Google Messages isn't showing up in the EMUI desktop mode. And like Chrome won't work windowed. And YouTube is only going to 480p for some reason. Kinda confused by the weird restrictions.
Ok... Some apps work more properly if you maximize them, close and reopen. For whatever reason this allows HD in YouTube and brings more proper TV interface on Netflix. Still haven't found way to fix Chrome to work in window.
Now having trouble with Netflix not showing video. Is this an HDCP issue maybe? No errors... Just no video other than in mirror mode.
BTW, why don't any reviews/rundowns point out the flaws of these desktop modes for media consumption. Notice prime video app won't even start on the EMUI desktop. It's not a total deal breaker... Just more of these limitations need publicized so Huawei can try to address.... Well them and google. Weird part is like NFL app won't allow mirror, but somehow gets tricked into working mostly on desktop. Yet Netflix and Prime won't work on desktop... But mirror... Just that aspect ratio of device sorta messes up optimal mirror playback.... Sorta works though.
