I have the DirecTV Android app on my phone (HTC Rezound, with Android 4.0.3) and on my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, with Android 4.0.4).On my phone, I can stream movies just fine. On my tablet, if I choose the same movie and tap Watch Movie, it pauses for a second or two then says DirecTV has stopped and kicks me back to the previous screen in the DirecTV app. But, I can tap Play Trailer, and that works. And I can use the HBO Go app, sign in with my DirecTV credentials, and stream movies from there and it works, too.
Anybody else using the DirecTV app? Successfully streaming any movies? Any idea why mine isn't working?
I'd also be curious if it works any differently for folks running CM10 on their GN10.
Give me a movie name you've tried.

FWIW, I'm not rooted.
I tried Underworld: Awakening, Cars 2, Back To The Future, Tangled Ever After, and a couple others.
I am rooted and I thought that might be my problem. But, my phone is also rooted and it works there.

not talking about watch but the video player that it plays like .mp4s or whatever its the only one that stretchs the video full screen on my sensation ive tried almost every video player on android market they all use like half the screen! any ideas?
I always use mVideoPlayer, has a lot of nice features. One if it is you can select how you want to zoom (fill screen (zoom), fill to aspect , fill screen(stretch)).
You can config this in normal settings or just change it per video.
I think that is what you are looking for?
nah i tried that it only stretched it halfway but thanks for the suggestion

I use MoboPlayer. I like it and it gives me volume control by touching/swiping the screen.

Woohoo!
qqplayer is pretty decent
my top 3
best movie players "i've" found for the sensation (in order):
Dice player
VPlayer
Android Video Player
These play .avi's well and seem to produce the best picture quality (for me at least).
MoboPlayer or PlayerPro

Doesn't solve the playback issue, have tried it, just makes the video jumpy and slow. Been using codename since it got uploaded, waiting on bnd to come out of his compiling session. Kinda miss the updates

Is the device completely stock or has it been rooted? If stock have you tried a complete reset? What player are you using to play local content? What Type of local movie file are you trying to play? Try MX player from the play store on a local video and see if it stutters.

It is completely stock. I do use mx player. It doesn't matter if the video is streaming or if it's downloaded to internal storage it still lags. I'll give that ROM a try, I have been looking for ROMs and couldn't find any. Even through Google. Thanks

Nowadays TV Boxes are becoming more and more popular.
In Tools->Settings->Player->Screen you can enable "Elapsed time" and "Battery/Clock". The problem is that when using a TV Box it is difficult to make this information out from a distance.
Is there any chance to add possibility to configure the font sizes?
Thanks in advance.
Hi guys, the issue is really annoying. I guess, it would be a lot better from the UX point of view to have the OSD layout/font settings on a dedicated tab, basically copying the same controls, as are used for subtitles.
---------- Post added at 04:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:46 PM ----------
Maybe, there are some undocumented OSD related parameters in the XML file?
P.S. BTW, thank you for one of the best Andeoid player apps.
Great, this is what I'm hoping for as well. I use my Samsung Note 9 on the tv via Samsung Dex, playing videos with MX Player Pro. The font of time/battery/clock cannot be seen clearly from a few metres back, as it's quite small. Thanks!
Hi, I'd like to share my first android app - Chichi: YTS Online Player.
This app is made with love for my honey - now my wife
This is unofficial YTS player which helps play YTS movies without downloading all the torrent file. Some cool features:
- Blockbuster movies in HD and FullHD resolutions
- Subtitles in multi-languages
- Seeking to anywhere in the movie
- Search movies by name
- Filter movies by quality, genre or rating
- Sort movies by uploaded time, rating, likes, views, and more
- Trailer in YouTube
** NOTE: It uses torrent protocol, so it may not work in some countries, please let me know if it gets stuck at 0B/s for a long time. Thank you very much. :victory:
Have fun :fingers-crossed:

I'll add a button to stream/cast to tv, it's working as expected, I tried subtitles too
---------- Post added at 03:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 PM ----------
And allow horizontal "rotate"
Thank you for your valuable reviews. I'll try to include them on next update
