Hi! Is there a stock rom with 6.0.1 ? 6.0 on xt1540 works really slow, and have a LOT of hangs ... I've only seen 6.0.1 for XT1541... Or any other rom? Im now on Broken with 6.0.1 but it reboots by itself and thats quite annoying...
Thanks in advance!

Have not seen a stock ROM for 6.0.1.
Did you try Factory Reset of 6.0? I know many had several issues after upgrading to 6.0 that required a FR to fix.

Yeap.... several times... First it works good, but after a few days it gets slower and slower and slower....
My wife has the XT1540 and the MM 6.0 makes her smartphone really slow, it freezes all the time. Still waiting 6.0.1 update!
Same here.... now using Broken but it reboot itself sometimes... Stock 5.1.1 with optimization also works very well...
RAM issue
I had the XT1540 and moved up to the XT1550 because of the same issue. It's the 1gb of RAM that does it. The extra gig in the XT1550 makes a big difference. I'd try keeping all caches cleaned periodically. You can also overclock the GPU and CPU but that's at the risk of overheating and battery life.

So we can say that motorola should give us a solution ... but... they answer me... "The problem is the facebook apps...." LoL!!! So this is a really dumb "smart"phone... Well so, which rom do you recommend then?

Hey guys my moto g XT1032 has been incredibly slow since the update to 5.0.1, I think this is due to the memory leak issue?
Restarting solves the issue for all of 20 mins - I've also tried wiping the cache.
Has anyone had any experience with this ?
I'm stuck between waiting for 5.1 and fixing it or downgrading to kitkat - it's incredibly frustrating at this stage waiting for my apps to load.

IMO kitkat is far more responsive, quick, and stable than lollipop. Lollipop 5.1 is better than 5/5.01/5.02 but I still prefer kitkat over Lollipop. That's just my opinion.

Okay. In your original post you stated that you have the 2nd gen moto g. The xt1032 is the 1st gen moto g.
Also, if your bootloader is not unlocked and/or you are not rooted then you are stuck on Lollipop. If it is unlocked then you can adb fastboot the correct 4.4.4 firmware for your phone to go back to KitKat. I purchased my xt1028 with JellyBean on it, ota'd to 4.4.2 KitKat, then later took the 4.4.4 ota. Unlocked bootloader, rooted it and flashed numerous KitKat roms. Then upgraded my bootloader from 41.13 to 41.19 and flashed more than a few Lollipop roms. At the end of the day, I am just not impressed with Lollipop at all. Too bright, too many colors, and the design is too kiddie-like, as though they designed it for kindergarten children. Grow up android, and make an os for adults.
I reverted back to KitKat and I like it far better. Although I am about done with android. Going to iphone.
thanks for the reply - you're right -I'm a 1st gen ( XT1032).
So am I completely stuck on lolipop since the upgrade? ( I'm not rooted)

Yes, unfortunately if you are not rooted you are stuck on lollipop. However, you have a GSM phone and I think it is unlockable through Motorola's bootloader unlock program. Here is a link that may help: http://motogroms.com/moto-g-bootloa...o-g-xt939g-xt1008-xt1031-xt1032-xt1033-xt1034
And if you have success unlocking your bootloader, this link will help you restore KitKat on your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Keep in mind though that when you took the Lollipop ota it updated your bootloader so even if you restore your phone to KitKat you will still have the updated bootloader(bootloader cannot be downgraded) so you will have some screen flicker every time you reboot your phone but that is resolved by just turning the screen off/on.
If you need any further assistance please feel free to let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
Upgraded mine 2 days ago I totally hate lollipop
the lock screen sucks with the speed dial on it .....I have acidently made calls twice......I have had to put a pass code in to stop this happening
untill I can find a way of removing this pile of **** from my phone.

thanks for the reply classic757 - you're a gent
It looks like I'm stuck so for a while. Any sign of an improved 5.1 to deal with the memory leak / slowdown?

Your welcome.
And I am not quite sure if there is a 5.1/5.1.1 Lollipop update for your phone. You can always visit Motorola Software Update Page to check.
Hey guys, I just saw that 5.1.1 has been available for my N915G for some time now. I would like to ask how people are feeling about it in terms of performance? I was on 5.0.1 awhile back and it was so laggy and slow that I eventually downgraded to 4.4.4 (at times, I wouldn't even be able to answer calls because the phone would ring but the phone was so laggy that the screen wouldn't turn on until after they hung up).
I'm very happy with the performance of 4.4.4 now but I do like the features in Lollipop so I just wanted to ask if it's safe to jump back in? I heard that it's not possible to downgrade after flashing 5.1.1 so I need to be sure before taking the dive. Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks for the reply. Although I am always a little cautious when I hear people say there's no lag at all. I have never had a non-stock Android phone that was lag free (well, with the exception of my old Z1 Compact maybe). Even on 4.4.4 where the performance is far better than on 5.0.1, there is noticeable but tolerable lag at times. But still, I'm glad to hear you're having a good experience on it!

how did you update 5.1.1, I'm on 5.0.1 and OTA doesn't show any update available?

It depends on what version of the Note Edge you're on. Mine is SM-N915G (yours could be 9150, 915F, 915FY etc.) and sammobile.com listed 5.1.1 as being available. Then you need to flash it through odin. There are tons of guides around for that if you do find a compatible firmware for you.
I have 915G. Can you please provide any updated working guide /links?

Well I haven't done it yet myself but I'm pretty sure it works the same way as with previous firmwares. There are heaps of guides here and elsewhere that describe the steps to using Odin such as this one. And get the firmware from here.
Question for the more knowledgeable people: Does the baseband version on my current firmware have to match with the one I'm trying to flash from Sammobile?

Shouldn't matter, it's the "G" that's important.
There is both a Telstra rom and a generic rom of 5.1.1 so you should be good to go.
If you want to get root access you will need to flash a 5.1.1 root enabled kernel however...
Hello to all XDA fellow members.
I recently upgraded to Android 6 (Marshmallow) by flashing the firmware image (credits to @lost101) because I was rooted on 5.1.1 and my OTA would'nt work anyway. After doing so, I noticed the ram usage on the OS is more than normal, some times shooting up to the limits like 900mb usage.
Also the phone turned out to be quite laggy than it used to be on 5.1.1. My only hope to get my phone to be buttery smooth responsive again was to downgrade it back to 5.1.1 . However I really would like to stay updated with the latest releases of Android.
Are there anyone out there who is facing similar performance issues on MM? If so, what are you guys doing to reduce the lags and reduce ram usage on your phones. Please suggest me..
EDIT: posted this in general thread out of anxiety
@ Moderators, please help me move this to Q&A. Sorry for the trouble
Let it run for a day before you do anything drastic, it seems to take a while for the battery to settle in.

ok thnks..
Marshmallow's UI should be (and is noticeably for me) smoother and more fluid if anything.
Motorola changed the maximum clock speed of the Adreno 306 from 400 MHz to 465 MHz with 6.0's kernel.
A 'Factory data reset' in Android prior to flashing firmware image, and fastboot erase userdata during flashing should resolve any performance issues.
Hello.
What rom do you recommend for 6039Y android 5.0.2 rooted with 8+8GB?
I don't mind keeping Lollipop only I don't want shorter battery life after installing.
Thanks.

I have the same model, I've tested many times cm12.1, cm13, and decker's "r2" MM rom, IMHO the best is decker's.
Thanks all.
I think I keep the stock rom 5.0.2 now, maybe doing an hard reset (and then getting root and the 8 gb back) for cleaning things.

How did you update? Via update on phone or did you flash new firmware via pc software, either best thing to do is carry out a factory reset, there is conflicting experiences in terms of battery life mm vs nougat, some say it has better battery life in Nougat others not so much, currently there seems to be certain nougat version firmwares which give better battery life.
