Hi,
this is the history, I have bought this One A9 as broken. The problem of this phone for his owner is that after few week from display replacement touch became unresponsive after wakeup.
I have open the phone and it seems to be water damaged. But all works perfect. But if I lock the screen and after I wake up it touch doesn't work. I have try with RUU installation, but nothing. This issue persist also in twrp recovery.
Can someone help me? This is the first time that I see this problem.

There is nothing we can do about it.
If the screen replacement wasnt accomplished by HTC, you have a problem.

Not only that, if you think it is water damaged, you can throw it away.

Today a friend send me a One X AT&T.
The phone turns on and everything is fine, except the screen don`t turn on, i think its hardware related, but i don´t have a idea.
I applied the RUU and nothing, factory reset... nothing, screen don´t works in bootloader.
Motherboard or screen?
Any help is appreciated.

If your sure it's booting, then I'd safely guess it's the screen.

Yeah it works normal, plays the volume -+ sound, etc.
The touchscreen works too.
How do you know the touchscreen works if the screen doesn't?

I had the same thing happen with my first one. It would play notification sounds and even ring when called but no screen. I tried everything and eventually took it to AT&T's warranty center and they replaced it without hesitation.
They couldn't tell I was rooted, unlocked and s-off

Hey guys thanks for your time.
@timmaaa because i hear the unlock sound.
@kotchishm yeah same thing here, the phone have locked boot and s-on but i live in Costa Rica, is imported, so no at t, anyways the man buy free in Amazon so no support i think.
I dont want to spend much cash on it, is the repair cost 1/2 of the real phone price i prefer a new one. i read some about this problem happen in one x int but no on this model.

Close, i sent it to USA.
Hi to everyone, I went from my broken Galaxy Nexus to the Moto G. I am really surprised by Motorola's quality but i have a big problem. Sometimes phone freezes and become unresponsive. If I lock and unlock the phone it often starts to work normally. If i don't do anything the phone starts to show ghost touch and erratic touch. Sorry for my bad english. Does anyone have that problem? I have to send my Moto G to Amazon.Uk?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4K-xNJXFBc Can I try to change my rom? I'm on .uk 4.4.2 :crying:
Contact Motorola support and explain the touch screen issues. Probably they will replace the device if its a hardware problem.
If its a software issue then backup your data and do a factory reset to see how it performs.
That looks software issues. Have you tried to hard reset the device?

Motorola said to me that is a common problem and that I have to send the phone to Amazon... i was loving it!
Meh. For now I don't want to accept it. I don't get this often so I can't test as good as you.
But especially scrolling in tapatalk or chrome seems to force this. Could be coincidence. Can you confirm? Since xposed knockoff sometimes my screen is going off so it thinks there is a double tap in the upper bar.
I also had enabled visual touch showing in developer settings but there is no visual tap point occurring if it happens. So it's not like it really thinks that we touch the bar with our fingers.
By the way it is impossible to touch the bar in a way that it comes down only half an inch isn't it?
Could you please disable autobrithness end test again? Since I can't force the device to this I need days for one test.

i did a factory reset and still the problem persist.. isn't it considered as a defect ??
It's clearly a software issue. Reflash might help.

thanks for all the help! :good:
Very strange, a hardware issue which temporarily disappears when you reboot. Oh well, luckily it's fixed now.

Sounds like the flex ribbon cable to the display had poor contact. Where do you live to get such quick service? Cheers!

Hello,
I got marshmallow update yesterday and it is awesome, but I am facing one small issue. My screen stays off after a call ends. Why is that? Anyone else facing this issue in android 6?
Same issue here
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I've noticed that too. I thought it might be kernel related (I'm using ElementalX) but I haven't tested that theory out yet.
won't wake up
Having the same issue, with a different kernel. It's intermittent. I have to press the power button several times.
I have the same issue. I must press power button twice for turn on display.
I have this problem too with stock kernel.
Same problem for me,I've flashed the complete factory image.

Installed last night - same issue as well - stock kernel
Same issue with stock kernel.

Same issue here with Stock Kernel, ElementalX 6.01 as well as blue_spark_r30....!:crying::crying:
I think I've solved,by turning on the option to end a call, pressing the power button, into "Accessibility" menú.
Anyone tried this?

same here, but it doesn't happen after every call. can't figure out why...
Dude it ends a call, so what to do if i dont want to end a call and just want to see time or something during a call?

You just remove the phone from the ear, as always ...

Hi guys, I fixed this by factory reset of my phone. FC I used recovery console instead of from settings.

I have tried your suggestion. Same result. Screen not wake after call randomly.
Отправлено с моего Nexus 5 через Tapatalk
same prob. So can I ?
I got Android 6.0 on saturday.
Facing this prob where the screen doesn't wake up / turn on when moved away from the ear or when the call has ended.
I tried all the options discussed in this thread. So......I was thinking, ok may be there's a fix on the way.
Until then can I Factory reset my phone ? If I do which OS will get Loaded, 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 or 6.0 ?
I haven't flashed it or anything. Pure ol' OTA updates always. Hence the above question. And I'm also a noob
Many Thanks.
God Bless.
After perform factory reset you will have the same version of Android which you have now. After I performed factory reset this problem has been fixed (partially) in my case at 2 of 10 incoming call not wakes display, but at 8 of 10 yes.

Yes i can.
Without screen protector it's better but it has lag and this problem.
i used three different screen protectors but i think it depends on hardware.
