MT-TL10 Android 6.0 Battery - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Although the marshmallow update really looks awesome and behave so cool and fresh, gotta say on my case the MT-TL10 has lost the most strongest point it ever had. The battery endurance
I frequently used to have 6h of screen on time back in 5.1 Lollipop but now i struggle to pass 3.5h SOT! Which is really disappointing! :crying::crying:
DId a factory reset on B560 but nothing has improved over the B525 now having second thoughts to go back to 5.1 by next week. If anyone knows some solid leads to sort this out please help me.
Thanks in advance

I use leandroid to control radios and minimise drain. Also make sure the OS is set to not start all apps at boot. Only the ones you want/need.
There's also a setting that could affect it.
Settings/Advanced Settings/Security/Apps with usage access.
Google play store is probably turned on. Try turning it off so it only works when you go to play store.
I'd leave google play services on though.

The wake locks will never go. Ever.

Hello,
I am on ParanoidAndroid 4.4 and the battery drain is killing me. I have to charge my phone at least twice a day if I'm outside just because I'm scared of having my phone die on me. I was on stock 4.4.3 up until recently but the sudden wakelocks at random times would kill me so I switched to PA to at least have a few extras like Hover and its even worse now. I'm using ElementalX kernel now because of how amazing the battery life is supposed to be but I am almost crying :'(
I have noticed that if I turn WiFi off, the phone will go to sleep without any problems but turn it on and it'll stay up all night and all day draining the battery 2% every 5 minutes of use. It appears GoogleSearch is the culprit but I'd like some more help on this.
I have uploaded some screenshots if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.

Disable Google Now and Greenify it. If it's a system app, I recommend using a minimal gapps package. Like the one from my signature.
If that's still not good enough, Greenify WhatsApp and Viber. We need to see if they are the cause. I suspect something else is the issue, but let's rule out your top 3.
Oh I almost forgot. Thank you for posting a BBS log without being asked.

Greenify won't allow me to hibernate it since its a System app and asks me to buy the donate package. Also, I'm on ART so Xposed doesn't work for me. Is there a workaround?

Then change it to a user app with Titanium Backup, etc lol. If you installed it from the Play Store it would be a user app, it's installed as a system app if it's flashed in a gapps package. Shouldn't have any problems moving it. You could also Greenify it for free if you did that..

You said you are on PA. You need to wipe system, reflash PA, then flash the Banks minimal gapps in my signature. Then download Google search from play store. Google Now is now user app and can Greenify it. After you do that, send another BBS log.
You will also need Nova launcher or similar. Banks gapps doesn't come with a launcher.
OK guys....look at this I found.
Last night I enabled the new "OK google from any screen" option, in Google settings, OK Google hotword detection.
Then after only after I woke up (didn't charge...I charged before bed) look what I saw....held awake time on Google search, which I've never gotten before.
So a couple hours ago I turned from any screen option off.....no more held awake time on search.
So guys with Google search out of control.....that might be the issue.
Too bad too....I liked that new feature, but Google gone messed it up.....again.

Sadly, this is to be expected at this point.
I think like double tap to wake.... If it isn't on the low voltage core, like moto x always listening is, its never gonna be battery friendly. But people wanted....they got it...kinda. Better than having to be on a certain screen anyway. Just now audio in is listening to every sound it hears.

[Q] does anyone else's phone not go into deep sleep?

After looking at battery stats I see my phone never actually sleeps. According to the battery stats the phone is awake the whole time. Multiple apps have confirmed that my phone doesn't sleep. Is it because I have the knock knock screen on option checked? I can't find any apps keeping it awake.

Reboot the phone after charging?
I ran into this issue as well and it looks like it's due to the new Google Play Services not playing nicely with CM 11S.
This should work though.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53739230&postcount=5031
If not, I used 'Disable Service' app from the Play Store and re-enabled "SystemUpdateServer" under Google Play Services and it seemed to work as well.

[Q] Help! Google app is draining my battery!

Hi guys,
In the last few days google app is draining my battery. It is disabled for wake up and keep awake in privacy mode, I tried to calibrate the battery, nothing helps. Even when I put it on flight mode, the draining is insane!
I attached screenshots.
My phone is not rooted, and I cannot root it.
Thank you all in advance!
I uninstalled it. I do not ise the cards and voice assitant plus I am an old fashioned guy, using search function in Chrome. By the way I saw other people having this issue, but don't know if it was resolved.
Yeah same for me, mine has been draining so fast when the phone is idle too! I'm running xnph05q cm11.

Uninstall the app update which is causing battery drain. Use it for some day using factory version of the app. If problem not resolved, report back here

For chrome, you can do the same thing as suggested above
Android OS and Android System.. You can't do anything with it.. If you play with them, you'll end up making your system malfunctioning..

Hi there,
Until I will have a report regarding your previous suggestion, can you please take a look at my screenshots and tell me why the GPS is always on when I am on battery saving all the time?
Something is draining my battery, I get only 2:30 SOT, in the best case, without games videos music or even phone calls.
Thanks a lot!

As you have not rooted your bacon, only thing I can suggest you is that with the help of Privacy Settings, disable access for wake up and keep awake for the apps which are not oftenly used and also Google Play Services
Battery saver mode disables background services of the apps and lowers done the device performance
Combination of above stuffs can help you increase your battery life to some extend
Your GPS is not always ON as seen from the chart

Battery Drain?

Here are some of my GSAM stats on this Imgur link. I am worried I am dealing with lousy battery life and have to charge my phone once a day mid-day to get anything done. I was expecting 5-6 SOT and decent stand by battery life with Doze. Even with Airplane Mode and Wi-Fi, my phone's battery life drains a bit too. I did a cache wipe and dalvik cache wipe too.
I have the July Patch with stock T-Mobile software: Baseband G930TUVU3APG1
https://imgur.com/a/z11jw
Do I need to do a factory data reset of some sorts? Or wait for a new update, even though T-Mobile is taking their merry ole time with the August patch?
I had really bad, terrible battery life when i first got this week couple weeks back until i looked into it.
First i installed root on the phone, and started to uninstall unnecessary programs and bloatware that came with the phone. If you decide to install root, PLEASE follow the instructions to a point. I forgot to disable manual security updates and one week later, ran into the famous bootloop and had to start all over. Oh well, lesson learned and i learned
After i uninstalled several programs, i still noticed that i had better battery life but not great. I thought maybe it was my old house the reception "pinging" was the cause of it. After searching around, i was told to install "Wakelock Detector" App from the Play Store.
What this App does is that it will tell you which app that are installed on your phone, are causing to "wakeup" your device either by pinging out, or waking up the screen or whatever. After running the program and after a day of it surveying my phone, it found several programs being the cause. Mainly my email App. It was waking up the device, something like 43 times a day. After looking around the settings of the App, i had it setup to check for emails every 5 minutes. After adjusting several other programs, battery life is great.
Just today, i took my phone off the charger at 9am and here it is 10:43pm and my battery is sitting at 55% battery with medium use today.
Also look into system settings such as Account sync options, wifi searching and whatnot.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask away. I love to help out

You could always use Debloater 3.90 to disable certain apps from running. Although this wont unistalled the apps nor will it free up any space, it will prevent them from running.
Did you check into the settings that I mentioned within the System settings or download Wakelock Detector? This will help you figure out and pin point the issue.

I tried a few times in the past, but I always end up disabling stuff and it causes a headache. I only want to disable stuff like DT Ignite and T-Mobile anyways. I'll play with the settings. Didn't download the wake lock detector since it said root was better.

Two good guides from the main Samsung S7 are located here :
Debloater - Safe Apps to Disable
Battery Life Discussion
Although i wouldn't disable all the apps that the thread suggests, i did use it as a guide. Most of Tmobile and useless Apps are safe to delete.
There is a way to run WakeLock Detector without root but you have to be familiar running command prompts / ADB lines. I can walk you through it if you are interested. Not too complicated, but can be if you have never did it before.

Any battery saving tips/tricks?

Haven't been getting good battery life on my Note 20 Ultra compared to my Note 9 and it seems to eat up about 10% every hour(heavy user playing music and YouTube videos). I have package disable pro running but greenify doesn't seem to work on the Note 20 ?, which I think helped a lot with battery on my Note 9.
It might be because I did smart switch(I will factory reset and do a fresh install later today) but if it's not, do you guys have any tips to preserver battery life?
I am currently using Optimized Power Mode and put a lot of apps, other than the ones I need notifications for, in Deep Sleep. I also used the app to Mac out the refresh rate to 96hz. You're help is much appreciated ?

Apparently it takes a few days for the system to learn your usage and optimize accordingly. But below is a few things i have done that don't effect general performance.
* Put apps into sleep or deep sleep mode if you don't use the much or require notifications from them.
* If Google play Services is causing a drain, go to the app and clear cache.
* Go to location and check out app permissions and turn on off or while in use for what you use etc.
* Go to your accounts and go through what is being synced or not, turn stuff off if you dont require it and if theres any errors being displayed this will always cause a battery drain as its constantly trying to re sync.
Hope this helps
