(T285M,....modified system image for debloat etc-tar.md5 fails on flash in odin-not sure if some signing is needed-have the system folder if anyone interested...took out some apps, added csc folder with some xmls for control on data on off auto for mms, added two fonts...nothing more than that)
also see page 14 here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...ng-tab-e-sm-sm-smnu-smp-t3302935/post66585078
I just got my T285 yesterday. Noticed that in Setting, App manager I can move some app to sdcard but after restart, the moved app disappear.
Sorry if I have mislead anyone.
Now I am also facing memory shortage with this 8G device.
I have lost all hope for root on the SM-T285. Why such a low profile device gets a locked down bootloader annoys me.
However I'm trying to customize its system.img, I'm stuck though as Heimdall fails at 3% upload everytime I try to use a repacked system.img file. Flashing the original image works fine though so it could just be in the way that I repackage the image. tune2fs shows some difference which I am still trying to sort out.
I'm willing to help if there are things that I can try.

i found this on web, seems fake but, uses a beta root file of cf auto root webpage:
HOW TO ROOT GALAXY TAB A 7.0 (2016)
Note: This is a developing story. As far, we have found only one way to root your phone. But if someone invent more tricks of rooting in future, we will try to share with you.
You can install Chainfire’s SuperSU manually using a custom recovery such as TWRP (In this method we are showing how to install SuperSU.zip file with TWRP). If you are interested, check details below but take a backup of your device’s data first. This method should work with any variant of tab including SM-T280 (Wi-Fi only) and SM-T285 (4G/Wi-Fi)
Step One: Download Chainfire’s SuperSu.zip file.
Step Two: Copy the downloaded zip file to your device.
Step Three: Turn off your Samsung device and boot into recovery mode (boot device by pressing and holding down volume up, home, and power keys at the same time to enter in recovery mode).
Step Four: Take a backup, it is optional but important because if something happen bad in rooting, backup file will help you to restore previous state easily. So press ‘backup’ button, check all the boxes for backing up everything and then swipe to start the game.
Step Five: Once you have taken the backup file, press ‘install’ button, locate the SuperSu.zip file and confirm you want to install it.
Step Six: Reboot the device and your device is rooted.

Yeah it's fake. To even be able to follow that, you need a custom recovery, but there is no way to install custom recovery right now with a locked bootloader.

Hey guys I need help.
I want to root my Prestigio multipad PMP5080CPRO but I can´t find the Debugg-mode and I can´t find the adb driver.
Could anybody tell me how to root it??
Thanks :laugh::laugh:
Found an excellent thread on ROOTING the PRESTIGIO MULTIPAD 5080 C PRO
HERE:
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/36909-prestigio-pmp5080c-pro-rooting/
In case the thread is lost in time and space, I will copy and paste parts of it below here:
Original post by user xenonification on slatedroid.com:
***
Okay, here it is:
http://www.mediafire...gxa50m45c15zm5v
Installation instructions:
1)Plug in USB and turn on Mass Storage mode.
2)Unrar update.rar and copy update.img to SD card.
3)Unplug USB, A message should appear on the tablet saying something like "Would you like to update?". Press yes.
4)Phone will reboot and start installing firmware (Make sure you have power cable plugged in just in case).
5)Done
Notes:
-The file is much larger than the firmware file from the website. The reason for this is that when I rebuilt the system.img file, I made the image the max size that it could be.
-This is only for the Prestigio PMP5080c Pro. Do not try this on any other device.
-You lose your warranty by rooting your device (I'm pretty sure you can unroot it and remove all evidence though.)
-If something happens with the firmware (Tablet boot loops or freezes), remember, there is a reset button at the back of the tablet. Pressing the POWER button while holding in the volume down key will put the phone in recovery mode, where you can flash the firmware from here: http://www.prestigio...ad_PMP5080C_PRO
-I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device. Although if you are REALLY unlucky and something does happen, I'll try my best to help you sort it out
Just flashed it on my PMP5080C and it worked perfectly. None of the applications got deleted either. You can test if the root is working by downloading Root checker from android market. Follow the instructions and you'll be A for away
Good luck :clapping:

I did the same. Except I copied su and Superuser.app directly into the image (you can do that as root from terminal .. and IMHO if you open the file explorer as a root, you can do it that way too). I'm flashing as we speak (new FW 1.0.6). If it's alright, I can post a tutorial (I've done it with Xubuntu in VirtualBox) on how to do it, or just upload the file.
PS: The device just booted, root is enabled! Yay!

Confirmed, above method works.
Just in case, here is the rooted 1.03 ROM mirrored.

You are welcome for more help
As it shows from the title, this is the official Jelly Bean 4.3 room with a rooting method ( if you wish to root ) also a Google play installation.
Downloads: (Choose one link as you wish)
1- All files "Rom file + Recover file + Google Play file + SuperSU file"
file size: 1.3 GB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/4g3tedsq9tkp/I9502%204.3%20officia%20room%20%2B%20google%20play%20%2B%20rooting.rar
2- All of the above except The Rom file
file size: 24.3 MB
http://www.filefactory.com/file/5zjsz818rjl/I9502%204.3%20google%20play%20%2B%20rooting%20WITHOUT%20THE%20ROOM.rar
The steps are as the following: ( a text file explanation is included with the download)
"DO NOT EXTRACT ANY OF THE USED FILES"
First: Have an entire backup of your phone data, in case of a failure.
Second: Turn off your phone then start your phone in download mode "Down button + Home button + switch Button".
Then up button to say yes and enter the download mode.
Third: Open Odin program then put the update rom 4.3 in the PDA and start.
The phone will restart with the new update 4.3.s
Fourth: Again go to the download mode and also the same again with the Odin
and this time put the recovery file. the phone will restart.
Fifth: Before going to the recovery mode, make sure that you copy the two files.
The SuperSu and the Google play file (yourZgapps), to your local or external memory.
Sixth: Turn off your phone and go to the recovery mode, Up button + Home button + switch button.
Then up button to say yes and enter the recovery mode.
Seventh: Now you just need to install the two files (SuperSU and google store).
Unfortunately, yet, there is no English version in this recovery and instead this is
a Chinese version. However, you can see some English word in the choices.
In the first screen you can read "zip" click it then you go to another screen.
You can see "sdcard" in one option and "external" in another. Choose one of them
according to the place you have copied your files. The next screen you can navigate
to the file and install it as usual.
Do the installation to the both files and after you finish just touch the go back sign until it
goes out and reboot.
Congratulations: now you have an official rooted rom 4.3 with Google play in I9502

No download link working
Hi, I'm not fairly new to this forum but I silent read from a long time ago and now I decided to share something I found.
Let's say you're tired with rooting and xposed as some apps refuses to run upon detection of either or both of those, and custom ROMs out there didn't float your boat, you decided to return to the stock. No recoveries, just a plain stock. But you need that SystemUI with netmeter, or you're too lazy to re-log in 6 different Twitter accounts onto the Twitter app you've previously backed up using TitaniumBackup or similar.
Without any words let me start:
What you need:
Obviously an unlocked bootloader since we will flash a recovery, and locked ones can't do so.
Any custom recovery, either CWM or TWRP that's fine. Don't worry about its compatibility with the stock, as it'll be wiped again (if you want)
Flashtool, it already includes fastboot for flashing stuffs, otherwise why is this called Flashtool?
Your current FTF file
OPTIONAL : AromaFM if your mods isn't a flashable zip
For TWRP you can also use its built-in file manager
Steps:
Download and set up Flashtool
After installation there will be some folders like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}

Install the drivers located in the Drivers folder, place your current firmware's FTF file to the firmwares folder, and for convenience, place your recovery in the x10flasher_lib folder, and rename it to something short and easy, like rec.img or similar.
Put your mods in the phone's storage/sdcard (and also your aromafm if you choose to use it).
Turn off your phone.
Open up Command Prompt (or console window of your choice, if you're not on Windows), and navigate to the flashtool/x10flasher_lib folder.
Run this on your console:
Code:
fastboot flash boot rec.img
change rec.img to your recovery's filename.
Plug in your phone with a USB cable while holding volume + button.
When done, plug it out and boot to your recovery by powering it on and pressing volume - button when the illumination bar lights up (depends on your recovery).
Apply your mods (flash mods, replace system files, remove bloatware etc.).
You may skip steps below if you change your mind to having a (compatible) custom recovery
When done turn off your phone again.
Open up your Flashtool, if asked for admin rights just say yes.
Click the bolt icon above the window, leave the Flashmode selected, and click OK
find your firmware, select it but don't flash it yet. Uncheck/check these options, you don't want to wipe your data, right?
Click to collapse
Now press the flash button, located on the bottom-right of the window. When a window pops out (instructions to connect your phone while holding the back button), connect your phone with the Volume - pressed.
Wait the flash to finish, and unplug your phone.
Now you have your mods back and your app datas restored 'without root'~!
NOTE: I've done this on my Xperia E, for other phones I can't yet verify if this method works, so if anyone is interested to try this out go ahead and don't forget to report it back to me whether it's worked or not~
First of all, I am newb, kindly ignore silly replies till I am used to technical stuff, Very new to Android World.
I have upgraded to lollipop 5.0 properly from KitKat. Now planning to root my device to try more..
I have succesfully done following with guidance of http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5375117 :
1. I am using following files as recommended, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58648567&postcount=297
Using odin 3.10
2. Followed instructions from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58732404&postcount=345
I used that CF method once and it ended up tripping my knox counter. So I will just stick to the su method I used.
Once you launch odin. Make sure only the Autoreboot and F.Reset time boxes are ticked on the left side of Odin.
Then head over to the right side,Tick the box just before AP and then navigate to where you've downloaded the CWM. select it.
Now boot your phone into download mode (press power+volume down+ home), connect it to the PC and once that part written ID COM on odin goes green, click on start and wait for odin to do its thing.
Upon completion, your phone will reboot.
Click to collapse
Was able to complete this task properly, without any issues.
Now make sure you copy the super su zip file to your device storage then reboot into recovery (press power+volume up+home button) and flash the zip file.
Thats it. Your sm-n900 will be rooted.

After following the above method. I am getting "signature verification failed of entire file" continuously. I also retried after removing the battery and replacing it back. But getting the same error.

Tried removing battery + renamed the file to update.zip but nothing works.
I got another suggestion:
hat means the zip file is corrupted. Disable signature verification in CWM
Click to collapse
But there is no way I can find an option to disable signature verification in CWM for NOTE 3 SM-N900
Looking for expert advice.
So far, being little more comforable with android compared to my DAY 1 here.
Regards,
You need custom recovery to flash that .zip file via recovery. Stock recovery requires certain signature in the file.
You can use the CF-Auto-Root to root your phone, you can find it in Original Development section. Requires Odin for that.

Dear sir,
Request you to kindly help me through step by step instructions.
I am a newb for sure but will never give up.
User helping me said no to go for cf-suto-root for some knox counter issues.
Kindly help what right file to download and go ahead with right stuff.
We have few more mobile to test everything. We keep getting
SwiftKey keyboard messed around many options SORRY
CF-Auto-Root is pretty much only method for Lollipop at the moment. Yes, it does trigger the KNOX Warranty Void flag though, look it up if you want to know what it means (voids warranty in certain regions apparently, definitely not in EU).
Instructions are in the first post of the CF-Auto-Root topic - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
I can post better instructions tomorrow, no time today.
I followed the above method, phone rooted properly.
But now I end up with phone not booting.. due to some mistake.

Upgrading System guide (DLOAD):
Dload is the way we upgrade frimware in Huawei. To flash a new version of the OS you first need to check what version you have. You can do that by going on your phone and open the SYSTEM Update app.
Image_01
The reason why you have to check this, is due to you cannot flash an lower version. So if you have B179, you cannot flash B177. Keep that in mind as, if you do try to flash it will show you an error.
When you download the new frimware bear in mind to put the dload folder in the root directory of your SD-Card.
Example: /sdcard1/dload
After you have placed your folder, go to the SYSTEM Update app, and press Local Update and comfirm.
