Why don't you buy a Samsung headset?

I am using airpods with my s76 edge and have made and received calls from them. and yes the mic works on mine. a double tap on either airpod pauses and un pauses the audio. other people have said when they remove one it pauses but that feature on my set doesn't work. I know there is a interface on the iphone where you can turn that feature on or off. I'm going to pair them with my wife's iphone 7 tonight and see if I can turn it on then re pair with my s7 edge to see if that works

Is there anything like market app "Next Track" ?

The idea is to control music player with screen off to save battery. Control with volume buttons and maybe trackball.....
If you have a headset in then you already can. The headset it comes with allows this. I have a bluetooth stereo headset and can change tracks with it just fine.

Buy anything supporting the iPhone, the Nexus One seems to support the same standard. I bought some Sennheiser in ears w/ inline remote for the iPhone and they work for play/pause/next.

Galaxy S Earphone

Hello guys,
apparently something happened to my earphones. I'm guessing my roomies messed with it and busted it. I can see that there's a hole in the right earphone now.
I'm in search of an earphone which is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S. Sure I can get loads of better ones off play/Amazon. but I wanted to get the one which is compatible with my phone.
can anyone suggest me some in-ear earphones with volume adjuster or perhaps link me to original one?
thanks.
Look here
There are few other threads discussing about headphone compatibility, do a search.
As I have said in the first thread, I'm using a Nokia AD-54 with my own pair of headphones. IMO thats the best way to get highest quality. Because you can connect any high quality 3.5mm headphone.
P.S: For me Samsung's bundled pair sounds pretty bad, any $30 aftermarket head/earphone will sound way better.
I did a search already, but I found few more questions instead of answers,
the thing that nothers me is the polarity (mic/spk/gnd/gnd) thing, I wonder how many headphones/earphones support that..
I dont want to invest into something that doesnt work with my phone..
do the following two work?
http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/uk/home...onal_headphones-headsets_dj-headphones_502103
http://www.jbl.com/EN-GB/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?PID=REF250BG&accT=1&tsT=0&ovT=1
I've found something for you (I expected it, to be true):
-Every normal Headphone does Work (without Heaset functionality, understandable)
-iPhone-compatible Headsets do not work on the Galaxy
Oh and in a Review about the Galaxy someone used several Headphones, all of them are working. For Example there were Sennheiser CX300.
thanks, i'll go on earphone hunting now, and will let you know how it goes.
cheers!
also these seem to be cheaper: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=34645994#

Link to Sennheiser site is broken. I'm not sure about the other one either. Some say Sennheiser MM50 works, but I havent tried.
As for using a regular 3.5mm ear/headphone for music, everything works. I am using several different standard 3.5mm earphones and headphones, but remember, when you receive a call you have to disconnect the headphone to talk, built in mic disables as soon as you plug in the headphone. Its annoying, thats why I use the Nokia AD-54 adapter and a Bluetooth clip when walking outside.
urbanears
If you do a Google search for Urbanears, they do a range of headphones that will work as hands free with the SGS. I have some of the over the head ones and there pritty good. They come with a variaty of headphone jack addapters for diferent phones and have an inline mic.

I use these earphones and I can say that they are the best!! Great sound quality... Extreme bass clarity
Apologise for resurrecting this thread, but I want to confirm that the Nokia Adaptor provided with the Urbanears range of headsets do indeed work with the Samsung Galaxy S.
I ordered a pair of Medis, but when the headset first arrived the Nokia adaptor was faulty, I emailed them that the adaptor wasn't working, and they responded asking for my address so they could send out a free replacement (they did not ask for any kind of proof of purchase). When the new adaptor arrived, it worked like a charm, media button and mic became functional.
Yep, the urbanears nokia adaptor works perfectly

To operate the headphones you should turn off the microphone of the iPhone, because in the Galaxy S the pins are reversed.
A test when you insert the earphones, hold the microphone, you will hear the difference.!

Hey is it possible to get the adapter separately? I'm using the KVconnections one with my NuForce Ne-7m and the plug doesn't fit my cases (had to enlarge the holes in a couple already - don't want to have to do it with the rest).

That's not a hole dear. There is one upper layer of some kind of fabric thats been removed or got removed. Go to any samsung service senter they will replace it free of cost if in warranty your phone within three days.
Same happened with me but my left earphone of headphone wasn't working and this time they replaced it with the better one.. M njoying.

Urbanears don't appear to sell the nokia adaptor seperately, but you could always try emailing them.
I bought my Urbanears (black set of Medis) from a third-party site, but when I contacted Urbanears directly specifying that the adaptor that came with my Urbanears did not function, they simply asked for my address and sent a replacement adaptor out to me, they didn't verify that I actually owned a pair of their headphones. Theoretically, you could send them an email pretending to be someone with the same problem, though it would of course be harmful to their business if abused.
Just a quick question: i noticed, that if i am using the stock headset with an old ipod touch, i always have to press the button to get all the sound. Is there any way to avoid this?

Surely there are adaptors availably which are sold separately? I use a Sennheiser BT headset at the moment (MM200) but would like a pair of wired, good in-ear earphones so I have one less battery to worry about plus the sound quality is better. But the one thing I love about BT is the remote control buttons and there are very few options available for Samsung compatible wired earphones.
Can anyone recommend a good adaptor?
I bought myself a pair of samsung gtI9000 earphones from ebay for £4 :/.
works like a charm!

I've also found another set of adapters that might work: http://www.amazon.com/Native-Union-Adaptor-Blackberry-Phones/dp/B003NVM9HK, but given that the Medis is available for $USD50 I might just grab that and have a spare set of headphones.

Yes - use a rubber band to keep the button pressed
I use this adapter to make my NuForce NE-7Ms work with the SGS: http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/km-354r3m-r2f.htm. In theory you should use this one since you're doing the reverse: http://www.kvconnection.com/product-p/km-354r2m-r3f.htm, but they should be the same. As I said earlier, it works well but is bulky and doesn't fit my cases without modding
I can confirm two headsets working (tested) with I9000. The first one is Sennheiser MM-50 Nokia (the Nokia part is important, as they do also them for IPhone), second are the Stock Nokia's E52 ones.
After ripping my original headset I'had bought the Sennheiser's headset and must say I am quite pleased with them.
Cheers
So there is no headset with Nokia ad-54 functionality...
I mean there is no way to plug in my earphones and control calls/music... Exept of soldering iron... it's sad.

Headsets for the S3.

Hi all,
I've got a pair of Bose earbuds with the mic and media controls on the headset cord, that worked beautifully as a headset for calls on my old iPhone. I realize that the media controls will not work on android, but is there a way to use these as a headset during calls? Or if there is any black magic ways to make the media controls work too, that would be amazing.
Thanks!

I've tried many headphones on the S3 that worked fine for me on the Galaxy Nexus only to find they don't work for phone calls. The only set I've found so far that works is the iBeats that come with the HTC Rezound
List for Samsung htc sony (not sony erricson) and Nokia lumia headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic
- urbeats
- htc beats solo
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-00
- Nokia purity
Update as I found some more
I got the Sony Ericsson mw60 Bluetooth stereo headset. Really like the led display Full music functions such as skip, rewind etc. When I'm in my car I can plug my phone in via auxiliary on head unit. I then can use the Bluetooth for voice search, music, and phone calls. It works better than the Bluetooth in the actual headset. There the hm300 by Samsung that has lossless audio but I can't complain about the quality on the Sony and the led display just sells it. Especially when I'm at work I can control the phone without having to touch it.

No because the headset was made for only apple products (hardware and not software is what's stoping the other 2 buttons from working)
Here's a few in ear headphones you could buy with android 3buttons that will work on the s3 and s4
Soul sl99s (don't forget the s in the end)
Ajay fives (android version)
Nokia purtity inear (they say windows phone but will work on android too)
Htc Urbeats (1st version also they say htc but will work on samsung s3)
APP (free) you could use with the headphone I just listed is called ajay headset control
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.jays.headsetcontrol
Hope that helps!
They also have android 3button cable
That would on few on and in ear headphones like beats solo or soul headphones

Radioshack has one for $10. The one near me didn't have it so I have to travel to get it. that cord you mentioned cost as much as the Hesh 2 that will be $110 combined i am better of getting another pair of headphones. Best Buy also has some for $20. I live in the city so I don't have to travel far for a good deal.

Hi,
Are some of you using a Stereo Bluetooth Headset Headphone with Caller ID Display?

I'm assuming you mean the type where the display is on a separate piece that you can clip to your shirt. That works well, but there are some i've seen (not recently) that have the display on the actual earpiece which means if you are wearing it and a call comes in, you won't know who's calling without some voice caller id or pulling the headset off your head and looking at it (or looking at your phone, in which case the whole point is moot).
I used to think this was a good way to go, but instead just went with a smartwatch when they started to become available, as the watch can show you the caller ID and lets you use any bluetooth headset to talk on the call that you'd like.
I'm using the Metawatch Frame, but I also am waiting on my white Pebble to finally ship. I set caller ID and texts to come to my watch.

I use a Pebble and Jabra Sport together (or sometimes just the phone hooked to my stereo) to listen to music on the phone wirelessly. The Jabra controls volume and the Pebble displays the songs and can skip forward a track or back. Both can pause/play. You still get notifications on your watch no need to touch the phone. Great combo!
Edit: I'm not sure about the Jabra Sport handling calls simultaneously with music. I think you would need a more up to date bluetooth headset, so check that it can connect to multiple devices simultaneously and can handle both music and phone calls. I think the Jabra Sport can handle music OR phone calls over bluetooth, but not both. I haven't tested this, but when I place a check mark in phone audio in the bluetooth Jabra settings, it switches music play to the phone from the headset. (?)

I purchased a Sony Wireless Headset Pro (Lite Version). The MW1 is way overpriced, but I was so obsessed with trying different bluetooth dongles/adapters, that I had to give it a shot. Sony just released a newer stereo bluetooth recently, but I got a decent deal $80 (retail is $120). Contrary to what many of the reviews say, lots of the apps actually do work, but it's very very quirky. Caller ID display, as well as the other apps do the job that I need them to (when they are actually working properly). Main reason I got this is for daily use, while at work or on the go on the weekends.

Yup...lol. When I first got it, I got pissed cuz it automatically started updating once I downloaded the app. Then it was in an update loop, so I had to update through my work cpu. Really frustrating. Overall, I have been happy enough not to return. Just wouldn't recommend to anybody looking for the best bang for the buck.

What's the best headset with caller ID.
I know people worry about having to look at headset while it's on head. ... but my plan would be too only put this on the head when you have a call.

I should have also mentioned that in my research of this also realized that a bluetooth headset with an lcd display would either end up being so big in order to accommodate seeing the Caller ID easily and quickly or to get a small size, the headset LCD would be so small that you would have to waste precious time for enough of the caller info to scroll across the screen when you were getting a call AND THEN struggle to put on your ear in time to catch the call. that's usually too much time to pass so call is either going to voicemail or the dialer will hang up. Or you end up having an LCD display with texts so small in order to fit more info that it's very hard to read.
Good luck in finding a good model, if after finding this out you still believe that this is your best option though.

That's useful to know.
I don't mind a big display as I would only put next to my head when I want to call or receive call.
Not sure there is anything though.
In an ideal world the smart watch would be perfect for this with bone conducting earpieces always set behind the ears.
Don't know why anyone hasn't thought of that before.
Talk to the wrist but listen with bone conduction.

I have a Note 3 but didn't go for a Gear smart watch because I don't see talking to the wrist for calls as practical for my use. I do want a watch that has a mic for voice command, though.
Let us know if you find something good for your use. If you ultimately can't find a suitable model I would recommend that you consider the smart watch for your notifications once you find one that fits your style. It really is a liberating experience.
I usually use an LG tone headset which hangs around your neck when you're not using it, but in a way that is pretty stealth under a shirt collar. When I get a call I look down at the watch and if it's a call i want to take, I just remove an ear bud from the holder around my neck and put it in my ear.

Just wondering if a three button earphone made for Android, like the Degauss Labs Sabotage Royale will work with the Nexus 5.

probably apple patents, and a lack of support direct from google so there is no standard and manufacturers have to come up with their own way of doing things which is bad because it sometimes means proprietary interfaces that might not communicate with the standard android api so the feature may only work on the installed proprietary app and with "compatible" headsets. i've always been surprised sony never added this. with all the walkman/diskman stuff they had in the past i'd think they'd jump on features to make music easy and convenient on the phone.
Nexus 5 + these 3-Burton earphones works great!
I have now used these 3-Button earphones for Android a few weeks and they work great with my Nexus 5!!
Mid button is programmable
& up and down button raises and lowers volume.
Sound is..Massive and clear.
Modelname is Sabotage Royale

I uploaded a pic showing when I lower the volume on the Nexus 5.
Cheers

Volume control works? Really? I have a pair of s4a II's and the volume control doesn't work without the app.

I think he meant Galaxy S4, not Klipsch's S4 (which works poorly in my experience).

Yeah I knew that. My point still stands that no 3 button earphones seem to work with this phone.

I have heard reports that the default bundled headsets that come with GS4 work, including the volume buttons (which is basically what he was saying).

The Nexus 4 did not work with the 3 buttons headphones but the Nexus 5 does. Volume can be controlled as well as answering calls with the middle button.
Nexus 5 + 3 button Android, Degauss Labs Sabotage Royale
Yes indeed the 3 button headset works great with the Nexus 5 (but Not Nexus 4). I use it daily.
But I think why many people dont get them to work is that they use traditional iPhone spec 3-button headsets. They wont work beacuse they are made for.. iphone (they have different mic/power/design)
What you need to make the Nexus 5 work is a Real 3-button Android headset.
Here is a video showing the Nexus 5 with a 3button Android headset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQiEbt9wRy4&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Well.. connecting another cable to the uhh.. cable and having 2 3,5mm connectors is not really my thing. Another important thing to note is that the mic on the apple based headset are using higher voltage so dont be surprised if it does not work 100% with all Android phones (Google spec is half the voltage of the Apple iPhone´s).
REVIEW
Found this Australian review on the Degauss Labs Sabotage Royales. I thought this review was pretty spot on..

Your not connecting two cables and the cable if you opened the link I posted shows the cable for android 3 button cable. Example take your beats solo take off the cable and replace it with the android one.
Beats sells two cables replacement one for iphone and android (3button remote android).

Thanks. These + the Sabotage Royale from Degauss labs are indeed the 3-button in ear "made for Android"I could find. As I own the Royale its the only ones I can vouch for the sound quality on.
