Hi,
Are some of you using a Stereo Bluetooth Headset Headphone with Caller ID Display?
I'll like to use my Note 8 as primary phone (answer and make calls) but using a Headset and if it's also able to manage my music so much better.
Best Regards,
Javier

I'm assuming you mean the type where the display is on a separate piece that you can clip to your shirt. That works well, but there are some i've seen (not recently) that have the display on the actual earpiece which means if you are wearing it and a call comes in, you won't know who's calling without some voice caller id or pulling the headset off your head and looking at it (or looking at your phone, in which case the whole point is moot).
I used to think this was a good way to go, but instead just went with a smartwatch when they started to become available, as the watch can show you the caller ID and lets you use any bluetooth headset to talk on the call that you'd like.
I'm using the Metawatch Frame, but I also am waiting on my white Pebble to finally ship. I set caller ID and texts to come to my watch.

I use a Pebble and Jabra Sport together (or sometimes just the phone hooked to my stereo) to listen to music on the phone wirelessly. The Jabra controls volume and the Pebble displays the songs and can skip forward a track or back. Both can pause/play. You still get notifications on your watch no need to touch the phone. Great combo!
Edit: I'm not sure about the Jabra Sport handling calls simultaneously with music. I think you would need a more up to date bluetooth headset, so check that it can connect to multiple devices simultaneously and can handle both music and phone calls. I think the Jabra Sport can handle music OR phone calls over bluetooth, but not both. I haven't tested this, but when I place a check mark in phone audio in the bluetooth Jabra settings, it switches music play to the phone from the headset. (?)

my combination is sony smartwatch and samsung bluetooth handset HM5000
I use HM5000 because I don't like handset that you need to stick in your ear.
Using mine with sony smart bluetooth headset pro. Can read/playback sms and gmail with callerid display and fm radio function too. Great if u prefer to use ur own earphones.

I purchased a Sony Wireless Headset Pro (Lite Version). The MW1 is way overpriced, but I was so obsessed with trying different bluetooth dongles/adapters, that I had to give it a shot. Sony just released a newer stereo bluetooth recently, but I got a decent deal $80 (retail is $120). Contrary to what many of the reviews say, lots of the apps actually do work, but it's very very quirky. Caller ID display, as well as the other apps do the job that I need them to (when they are actually working properly). Main reason I got this is for daily use, while at work or on the go on the weekends.

At the end I bought the MW1 and I works very well, but the software has a lot of problems and It makes the tablet very slow.

Yup...lol. When I first got it, I got pissed cuz it automatically started updating once I downloaded the app. Then it was in an update loop, so I had to update through my work cpu. Really frustrating. Overall, I have been happy enough not to return. Just wouldn't recommend to anybody looking for the best bang for the buck.

What's the best headset with caller ID.
I know people worry about having to look at headset while it's on head. ... but my plan would be too only put this on the head when you have a call.

I should have also mentioned that in my research of this also realized that a bluetooth headset with an lcd display would either end up being so big in order to accommodate seeing the Caller ID easily and quickly or to get a small size, the headset LCD would be so small that you would have to waste precious time for enough of the caller info to scroll across the screen when you were getting a call AND THEN struggle to put on your ear in time to catch the call. that's usually too much time to pass so call is either going to voicemail or the dialer will hang up. Or you end up having an LCD display with texts so small in order to fit more info that it's very hard to read.
Good luck in finding a good model, if after finding this out you still believe that this is your best option though.

That's useful to know.
I don't mind a big display as I would only put next to my head when I want to call or receive call.
Not sure there is anything though.
In an ideal world the smart watch would be perfect for this with bone conducting earpieces always set behind the ears.
Don't know why anyone hasn't thought of that before.
Talk to the wrist but listen with bone conduction.

I have a Note 3 but didn't go for a Gear smart watch because I don't see talking to the wrist for calls as practical for my use. I do want a watch that has a mic for voice command, though.
Let us know if you find something good for your use. If you ultimately can't find a suitable model I would recommend that you consider the smart watch for your notifications once you find one that fits your style. It really is a liberating experience.
I usually use an LG tone headset which hangs around your neck when you're not using it, but in a way that is pretty stealth under a shirt collar. When I get a call I look down at the watch and if it's a call i want to take, I just remove an ear bud from the holder around my neck and put it in my ear.

Hi..
I'd like to here some comments about Trinity users who use the Motorola S9 headphone. I really liked its design, seems light and usable..
Any problems while using it with the Trinity for normal phone calls and music listening?
Do you recommend it ?
Thanks
Re Motorola S9
I love it ! Excellent Audio.
However will only last for 7-10 days. i bought 2 already. I had to return the first after 7 days of use. the second unit i sent for repair.
I think it gets an electric short if u use for work out !!
u can get it for $59 from certain vendors on the internet.
i recommend to wait until they fix the bugs on this device.
Thanks..
Actually i won't be using it for workout at all. my uses will be:
1) using it as a headset for my notebook PC.
2) using it for making calls while driving
3) rarely for listening to mp3s on my trinity
for this, u can see quality of sound isn't the most important issue for me. all i need is a LIGHT (most important thing), comfortable, reliable and easy to use product.
Do you think this product is suitable for my needs?
Thanks, and would love to hear other opinions.
Although I don't have a Trinity (but E-ten X500+) I must say that this device is lovely to use. I had no problem using it on a daily basis, even when I was running (sweating like a pig). IMHO a really good device, and I sure recommend it...
Good luck!
not good for phone use
i would warn that this isn't to be used for phone use the quality of the mic is too bad. Otherwise it is good to listed to BT stereo audio.
I agree with other posters, it works pretty well for listening to music, but I wouldn't use it for making many calls, particularly if you're outside or exposed to any environment noise. The other person on your call will not be able to hear you that well.

Is it really that bad for making calls?? I won't be using it that much for this purpose, but sometimes it would be nice to make calls, like when driving or waking and not having to keep the device in your hand.
Can it also be used for making calls through Skype on a normal PC for examples??
Edit to my previous post - my S9 crapped out today, no idea why it's gone bad. Guess Motorola has some quality control issues. Too bad, the functionality was good, guess the build quality sucks.
Call quality
Yes, it really is terrible for making calls. I tried a number of times and the people at the other end just couldn't hear me at all. I tried calling my own voicemail and listening to the message. On all messages I just hear static. Very bad I'm afraid. I could be doing something wrong but I would expect never to make calls. I don't.
I have two of these S9 headset. First of all, there are a lot of fake/clone units out there so make sure you have the authentic one with the Motorola hologram sticker on the headset. Listening to music and audio is great but during phone calls, only the left side is for listening. The right side is the location of the mike...hence poor pickup by the listener on the other side of the phone. Otherwise a decent headset that is very low profile and unnoticeable by most people, (especially when you are wearing a hat).
thanks guys for the feedback im going to get my s9 next week...i hope it will work fine...thanks again

Any alternative to this headset guys??? I've been reading lots of negative reviews also on this forum:

I've searched, but am having trouble coming up with a clear direction. It looks like the Jawbone II might work, but I saw one post saying that incoming call audio wasn't routed to the headset! Ideally, something small, with good battery life and voice command compatible would work for me.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!
I think it is a personal experience as to what headset is "the best".
I've had a lot of the higher end units....Jawbone1,2, blueant, Plantronics 510A,
Zivio Boom. All had their plus & minus points.
Right now, my "daily driver" is the Zivio boom, but it took sending it back 2 times to get a good one. First one had a broken boom, 3 weeks in, the 2nd one had static/low range. 3rd one works perfect.
The jawbone 1 was fantastic, but (for me) I think I broke 1,543 ear hooks until I got a custom fit ear piece. Jawbone 2, was smaller, but, I think the noise canceling, incoming sound & outgoing sound were inferior to the jawbone1.
Blueant Z9, had good incoming, but for me had low outgoing sound. The plantronics 510A was about the best all around incoming & outgoing sound, but,
it was like wearing a weight on your ear. For my preference, it was a little bulky as I wear glasses.
Each had their good points & bad points. I'm still searching for "the ultimate" headset, but I don't think it really exists.
One think for me that really made a difference, was to purchase a custom made ear piece. No more ear hooks, perfect fit, no more sore ear. They are kind of pricey, but for my preference, it really made a difference.
Which ever BT you purchase, make sure they have a good return policy...just in case you don't really like it.
JB II
Ive had the MOto pure (SUCKED), Jawbone, Jawbone II. I must say that the jawbone II is the best bt because of its quality and size. The Jawbone I is too cumbersome. When I lost my Jawbone II i did not think twice about buying a different earpiece. I immediately replaced it.
Thanks Guys. I'll give the Jawbone 2 a try... and also take your advice about a possible return by buying locally instead of online.
For me..the BlueAnt V1 won out over all the others. Check it out!
I have the regular 1g Jawbone, and I love it. The second version can only be better. Heard great things about blueant as well.
I've also had a Moto H500 and H700, and both were total ****e. I'm really liking how my Jawbone actually allows me to leave my phone in my pocket and enjoy crisp, clear conversations. . it was only 70 bucks, so not a bad deal. Jawbone 2 was 85 but I was feeling cheap that day.
Edit: just read up on the BlueAnt V1 -- that looks pretty damned nice!!
BT Headset
Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset not seen
NATF's HTC Fuze v4.1
Radio 1.02.25.32
ATT FUZE
before
ATT Tilt / Dutty
Wind noise
I live in California and drive a convertable, so top down 300 days a year. I literally tried 18 different BT headsets and the only one that was acceptable at all to my callers was the Plantronics Voyager 510. It has a bit of stiff foam on the tip that works better than the others. Jawbone was terrible with the wind.
Just returned the Jawbone II. Not being able to hear incoming calls when answered from the headset turned out to be a huge pain... also, it seemed to randomly disconnect itself from the phone and voice command (the noise assassin button) didn't always work.
As an aside, I am having trouble with my data connection after some period of time when bluetooth is on. Anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Also no TomTom or Music through the Jawbone. I'm assuming this is a bluetooth stack issue. Is anyone getting other sound through a bluetooth headset?
i am really liking the new JB-200m i got this christmas, only thing that sucks is i cant activate MSVC with it. i emailed their company and they said that they are looking into including that ability in the next model!
In the last 4 years I have easily had 15 BT headsets.
Currently, I am using the blueAnt V1 (updated firmware) and find it the best so far with my Fuze at the combination of 6 key areas:
1. Fit
2. Sound
3. Performance in the out of doors (wind)
4. Battery Life
5. Stability of connection with the phone
6. Ergonomics
JawBone 1 was good except in even the slightest wind (like a squirrel farting in a tree 50 feet away), but it didn't fit and went through ear hooks like Bubba goes through administrative assistants in Harlem.
Jawbone 2 was better on the squirrel fart issue, but didn't fit much better and dropped the connection too much
The V1 had initial problems with sound on incoming calls, but a firmware upgrade (available on their site) has fixed that. The fit is great (I don't need a hook), the thing is light and the battery lasts me 2 days and lots of calls. Sound is almost as good as the Jawbone...like barely a difference to the party on the other end of the call. Sound to me is less tinny that w/ JB2.
I wanted to weigh in here because I am "testing" my nth different headset (feels like) and I keep finding my self going back to the same one over and over again.
I have had the
Plantronics
Discovery 655 - useless but very light weight, blinks blue light, not good. Thumbs DOWN.
Discovery 925 - PERFECT weight and time, but complaints from callers about to loud pickup of background noises, option for no blinking status light, multiple (x2) pairings.
Voyager 510 - Still one of my favorites but has limits I don't like, such as no A2DP and multiple pairings option not available. Callers can't tell I'm on a headset. Not good in the wind unless you use the wind guard (which looks stupid). Other than that, a great single phone headset for the car.
Motorola
605 - crap.
Jabra
BT8010 - The best one yet and the one I keep coming back to HOWEVER, awkward fitting but small sacrifice for the features. Full A2DP, stereo, streams device audio, Blue OLED display, doesn't blink light, push button display,Phone directory in memory, software and firmware, Caller ID, multipoint technology, etc,... Lots of features. NO complaints from callers and they can't tell I'm on a headset.
BT8030 - Just a plain ugly but VERY cool features, fun for the hotel room while traveling. Excellent battery full A2DP features. Still very cool.
These are just some that I have used so far. I am always in search of the newest and best "feature-rich" headset. My perfect headset is still not there yet, but maybe someday soon. I would love to help design one with a company.
Hope some of this might help.
I have tried about 5 different motorolla headsets through the years and they all had bad sound quality. I had the Jawbone and returned it because of fit. Quality was good though.
Another recommendation on the BlueAnt Z9i. Callers are unaware that I'm using a headset.
For me, the fact that the company is prepared to offer software firmware upgrades was also a big plus. It's also the first headset I've ever found comfortable enough to actually leave on when I'm not on a call.
Need help badly
hi i'm trying to pair my bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP200) but everytime i put the pin number (that is given by the bluetooth headset) it always said "Your Device did not connect with Samsung WEP200. The connection Failed or the passcode is incorrect".
how to install the hotfix (the hot fix from HTC website) on my HTC Touch Pro? everytime i copy the .exe file into my device, and run it, i always got an error box. Incorrect Device, "Please use the correct Device to Install This Hotfix program!" i don't know how it happen, i download this from HTC support page. i select the phone (HTC Touch Pro) and in the "Software Download" tab it show that there are 3 available download, the Hotfix, the Rom and Application.
i really need help....... pls, someone that have the same proble with theit HTC Touch Pro bluetooth connection.....
I've been looking online for earplugs with controls to answer calls and to skip tracks in the music player. Most of the ones I've been have only been for the iPhone or iPod, does anyone know if these will work?
For example these: hxxp://sg.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=437&subcategory=442&product=17989 (link broken because I'm a new member, replace the xx's)
Anyone have any suggestions, recommendations or experiences to share?
I cant click on the link for some strange reason but i use Sony Ericsson Wireless Headset MW600 and i can pick up calls and skip tracks.
I think the link above should be this one:
http://sg.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=437&subcategory=442&product=17989
i still cant see the product, that sends you to the shop home screen not the product page. If you say the name it would save a lot of hassle
Link still works from me on a different pc, name is Creative Labs EP-630i stereo headphones
Ill be interested if these will work. Bought a new pair of phones without the buttons and really miss them!
Also, i have heard that these work well:
hxxp://www.griffintechnology.com/products/headphone-control-adapter
Griffin's Headphone Control Adapter.
My friend has a N1 and says they work.
Just got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Sma...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278934550&sr=8-1
It's surprisingly quite small and compact, button and mic are good quality. I have headphones which came with a short cord + extension (Denon AH-C751), so using this makes the cord length just right.
The smarttalk got a lot of bad reviews because the edges of the plastic parts would damage the cable over time, but the version I got has rubber sheaths where the cable connects with the plastic - it seems Griffin listened to feedback on that one. Still, I can't vouch for the reliability, but so far so good.
Thanks for the replies everyone, I think I'll see if I can find the griffin things somewhere nearby
I read the fabulous klipsch s4i are working with the desire, but I just read that on one forum, so i'm still a bit careful...
can't post outside links sadly...

Not op, but I have an issue with them.
The mic is already screwed up and one of the casings is about to fall apart.
I am willing to spend around 80 € on a pair of headphones with controls plus a microphone. Like OP said most of the ones available are for the iPhone but I heard somewhere with some application installed you could use those for an Android powered phone as well?
The Griffon solution is really not that sexy, I would love a complete solution instead.

so just to get this right you use this griffin adapter with your htc desire to:
1 - answer calls
2 - hands free and speak through microfone
3 - cycle through music tracks and pause music
I read somewhere else that iPhone headphones with built in controls work fine on the Desire.
As I already own a pair of Klipsch S4 cans which are fantastic I looked on eBay for an iPhone adaptor that plugs inline with the headphones. Cost less than a fiver delivered.
Exactly the same as http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-5mm-Headphone-Microphone-Adaptor-Cable-iPhone-/200484789691?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item2eadd31dbb#ht_1995wt_1137
It works just fine for me and means I can take a call without taking my headphones out.
I have the same product I can play/pause tracks and use the mike, but not skip tracks how did you get it to work?

Double tap the button to skip a track. I thought 3x click skipped backwards, but it doesn't work, at least not with cyanogen mod 6. Long press also takes me to the music app when phone is unlocked, but this might be a CM thing as well. I
Never tried to take a call with the button, but there's no reason it wouldn't work if @MARK's earphones can.
Also, djtosh, sorry about not replying - I haven't been checking this part of the forum. It's been answered anyways:
1 - yes
2 - yes
3 - yes, but I can skip tracks on the ROM I use, not go back
Thanks for the suggestion guys... as i too was looking for a headset wit mic for using it PC and i got tat wit ur help
I don't know how you feel about using wireless bluetooth options, but I searched long and hard some time ago looking for exactly the same thing and found nothing with the right functionality - ie. that worked on par with the factory earphones.
After looking into all the options I opted for the Sony MW600 - http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/mw600?cc=gb&lc=en
I like them because I can use whatever quality earphones I want, they sync via bluetooth and the remote control part therefore just clips onto you wherever you like (shirt collar for use of mic for instance).
Has play, pause, skip forward and back tracks, fast forward and rewind, and volume control. Also has the hang up / call button and mute mic function. The display should have theoretically have shown song title but it doesn't. Works great with doubletwist and default music player in android.
Tons of battery life and uses same charging connector as Desire.
Hope my 2c helps people.
^
Those are very nice earphones . Might get myself some
i just bought a akg dj518 and cut the microphone and music control of the original htc and brazed it to the akg cost me 5 mins of my life
Am I the only one who's noticed that the headset controls don't work for pausing/playing or really doing anything with music at all? No matter what headset I try, the remote control just jumps straight to the recent calls list and attempts to call the last person I dialed..what gives? Is this unique to me or is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know of an in-ear canal headset that has working music remote controls?
try using a different music player from market such as cubed ^3 or mixzing, then go into the setting for that music player and make sure use headphone controls is activated
I just tried both of those music apps, and while I HAVE to thank you for showing me mixzing (nice improvement over the stock android app), the headset controls STILL do the same thing! I unchecked and rechecked the settings and no matter what, the phone always defaults to opening the recent calls list instead of pausing/playing/skipping..
Is there anyone else out there having this issue with their Epic? Perhaps I got a defective unit?
glad u liked mixzing, cubed in my opinion is even sicker. I get my epic tomorrow so ill check and let u know how it goes
Thanks for your help Ravizzle - I'm anxiously awaiting your results! I tried cubed, but I found the cube interface a little too flashy and unintuitive - I did only give it a single glance over and headset check, so perhaps I need to give it a bit more time next time
Got my epic today, sadly it didnt work for me either with the included wired headset. My stereo bluetooth is charging so ill try that out and see, but so far its disappointing that headphone controls dont work, perhaps the email the devs for mixzing and cubed and maybe they need to add support for epic still cuz its new.
Well I guess it's good news mine's not defective..but still pretty freking annoying. I'm surprised I don't hear many people complaining about this..I've tried a bluetooth headset and the controls do appear to work, but I hate the look of wearing a BT headset - I feel sort of..well I wont go in to that. Regardless, I realize there are devices like the the Jabra Clipper which would make me feel slightly less..you know. Anyone have any preferences on devices like these?
I use the Motorola Rokkers Bluetooth. They don't look silly cause it's on both ears unlike those Jawbreaker things. They look very sporty and I use them for walking and bicycle riding. The sound is HD and the controls all work. I am using 3 cube music.
I noticed that I can't answer a call (unlike my Evo and Moment) when using with the Epic. That sucks, but all the music controls work fine and the sound is incredible. My Rokkers are a year or so old - maybe I'll try the newer ones to see if I get the phone controls back.

I too am surprised at the lack of post about the BT problems. I have no handsfree control on the epic. For one that paid full retail for the phone I pretty POed about it. (Plus no spell checker in email, can't download attachments via exchange) I smell a 30day return coming if things don't improve.
I use the lg hbs 200 bluetooth stereo headset and i like them a lot. They are lightweight and they fold up nicely. U can get em off amazon. heres the amazon link http://www.amazon.com/LG-SGBS0001606-Bluetooth-Headset-HBS-200/dp/B001KHVRJU
Well, I just ended up getting a Jabra Clipper. Amazon and Verizon stores both sell them, and it serves my needs well. You can use the headphones of your choice (though it comes with an OK pair), and all remote functions work. I like it so far (especially since I don't look like a tool with a big flashing blue light around my neck).
Highly suggested!

I bought this, too; I had the older dogtag mini-usb model, but the audio out had broken... Verizon has it with free overnight shipping for ~$5 cheaper than Amazon right now.
I ran into a problem, though -- I couldn't get it working with my music player. No play/pause, no next/prev. Someone else suggested TuneWiki, so I installed that and it actually works great, but it's something to be aware of if you're considering this.
(Also, in place of dedicated next and prev buttons, you have to hold the vol-up and vol-down for a second or so, but but it works pretty okay. I wish the volume buttons on the phone worked like that, too. )
For those of you wondering why- It's because samsung puts there polarity in different order than most companies do. When people make headphones they generally make them to the polarity of apple's.
This is also why bluetooth ones work fine, and wired don't.
Do you guys hear buzzing when you use headphones with a mic?
Hi! I would like to ask if you know a decent brand of Bluetooth Headset that I can use for my S5 particularly for VOIP Calls like that in the Facebook Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. Though the sound & call quality with the stock wired headset is ok, but I find the wire a bit of a problem. I need something that I can make calls, great sound quality during conversation, sensitive mic, while at the same time I can hear all of the outside noise with the other ear.
I previously bought a set of Plantronics before with my S2, but I find that the phone is picky with BT Headsets. I hope that is not the case with the Galaxy S5, and if so, a brand that is 100% compatible with it.
Many Thanks!
I use jaybird bluebuds. Very good. Facebook messenger doesn't allow Bluetooth headset for calls unfortunately.
Sony sbh-80 besteht choice !!

Hi,I'm also interested in buying a bluetooth headset. Thought I'd give you some background on my usage scenario.
1) I use to have a bluedio i4s clipper style headset. Really enjoyed using that. I liked that it was just a receiver so you could connect anything to it like other head phones or even speaker and these automatically became bluetooth audio.
2) I really liked the fact that I could switch headset ear pieces and invest in better ones. I'd keep the bluedio & earpiece around my neck all the time especially while communting & when I got home I'd just detach the bludedio receiver & connect it to my home stereo.
3) unfortunately, the receiver croaked a few months ago. I think it shorted after being worn by me all the time especially while commuting. The sweat & humidity might have shorted out the circuit board. Now I want a new one to replace it but these are my concerns.
I can either:
A) get the exact same model (just cover it up in cloth maybe to absorb moisture?) or get similar "clip on style receivers" (like the one from sony).
B) or get those sports bluetooth headsets that are sweat proof. I really like this one particular brand by playground. It's really thin (looks like regular earbuds) but is bluetooth 4.0 w/ nfc plus the ear pieces have magnets so you can "clasp them together" around your neck like a necklace when not in your ear. You can basically wear it all day ready for immediate use. What I will miss from my old set up will the ability yo re-attach to other earplugs & speakers.
My question is do you think that the "sweat proofing" of these dedicated "sports bluetooth" headsets are really worth getting as they will likely last longer than the clip on types? The clip on types are prone to short out I think if they're always worn under your shirt (w/c is how I wear them) because of sweat and body humidity. Any advice would be mort welcome. Tnx.
Hi,
Personnally, I bought the Samsung Circle which is pretty convenient to wear around your neck. I use it when walking downtown mainly (both for listening to music and for calls). However, the earplugs don't stay firmly inside the ears so I bought another set of bluetooth earplugs for whren I go running. I got the MPOW Swift bluetooth headphone and I'm quite satisfied of this product (you can run without fearing it falling off your ear).
Hope this helps.
