Is there anything like market app "Next Track" ? - Nexus One Themes and Apps

The idea is to control music player with screen off to save battery. Control with volume buttons and maybe trackball.....

If you have a headset in then you already can. The headset it comes with allows this. I have a bluetooth stereo headset and can change tracks with it just fine.

Buy anything supporting the iPhone, the Nexus One seems to support the same standard. I bought some Sennheiser in ears w/ inline remote for the iPhone and they work for play/pause/next.

Bluetooth headset

Can anyone recommend which bluetooth headset is good? I want something that is able to listen to music and receive call. I just hate those cable when listening to music. Thank you in advance.
i have a Jabra BT530 (one of the few that support A2DP = music streaming) only con is that you cant skip track using the headset volume button. otherwise its a good one !

the problem is with the music player your using. use a different one and give it a whirl.... should work a peach. i use tunewiki or simply music (both free apps).
Just for test I bought this from ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...163711&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_4192wt_911
It's a pretty cheap one from Hong Kong and it works perfectly (both calls and audio)! So I can imagine some other cheap BT headsets (with A2DP profile) will work as well.
Why that one you might ask. Well, in combination with € 3,- helmet speakers I have a complete working BT audio setup nicely tucked away in my helmet. For navigation etc on the motorcycle! All together for like € 10,-. A bit different than the € 200-300 they ask for BT sets built into a helmet!
There are BT headsets from $ 4,40 (around € 3,50), but I'm not sure they support audio over bluetooth. So you might want to look out for that!
But my estimation is that it can be done for around 10 euro's! Search on ebay for 'a2dp -dongle' and you might get some interesting hits!
i got the jabra street BT3030 today, bought from amazon.de
i am impressed, because it looks stylish, it worked from the beginning without any adjustments (using latest nightly of CyanogenMod, just start you bt-headset, open BT settings in your phone, add JABRABT3030 pin 0000), the headphones are really good (of course no comparison to expensive sennheiser) and the microphone is very good (i am phoning during this post ). And i like the fact, that you can buy some other headphones with 3,5mm pin and use it.

Depending on the use of the bluetooth headset, another suggestion could be something from Jaybirdgear.com, like the Sportsband 2. It's a lot more pricy than the others, but if you don't like the in-ear style, and even wants to listen to music while in the shower, yes I can confirm that they are able to do this without getting broken, these might do the job for you
But ofc, if running, sweating and getting wet while listening to music ain't your thing - don't buy em, as they are rather pricy.
I use a pair of Sennheiser MM400 headphones. Absolutely brilliant sound quality, plus it has a mic and next/back/play/pause buttons. I can confirm that the controls work with the Desire, cause it has AVRCP.

Normal earphone works?

Does normal earphone works on the i9000 as a handsfree?
I tried, but seems not working.
No, all iPhone compatible headsets with mic are not working on Galaxy S.
thanks!
I guess i'll have to stick with the one that comes with the phone for now then...
My one just died on me after 1 week.all I did is do some cardio and the right wire disconnected.
I didn't like it anyways. Is there any other higher quality ones from samsung? Any recommendations?

I refer you over to the other headset thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7350178&postcount=22 Samsung Genio one works.
wires breaking apart is the reason why i switched to Stereo Bluetooth headsets

yes, but it depends on the brand and model
for example Motorola HT820 sounds great but the Motorola S9 sounds like garbage
same thing with Sony, Jabra, Plantonics, etc.
google up the models you have in mind, and read their reviews.

based to the original headset, does the bluetooth headsets have the same quality or is it worst/better?
Im really fussy when it comes to sound quality..but the original headset sound is passable.

i'm a moderate sound/music enthusiast, but by no way fanatic that i must have the best sound quality any device can offer.
so, i'm comfortably happy with the bluetooth headsets, the ones that are like studio type, those are the only ones that offers decent sound quality, but overall of all the ones i've used and tested, the Motorola HT820 is the best, unfortunately that model is no longer in production.
now, if you are a little above me, and you must have near perfect sound quality, then it'll be better to stick with a studio style wired headset
i've yet to find a superbly good bluetooth that can beat a wired headset.
however the sound from the bluetooth HT820 from Motorola is comparable to a wired Sony MDR-7506 or those alikes, but nothing that can beat a SCHNEIDER

With this headset you can use your own choice of headphones with the adaptor - winner - I dont use the Samsung ones.
Just tested the headphones and I think that I either I got a faulty unit or I damaged mine beacuse the audio jack does not fit properly, so I get mono sound, buzz, stereo sound, buzz, no sound :-(

[Q] Headphones with inline controls?

Well the 'phones that came with my Trophy have decent inline controls however they are not very comfortable and sound, well, awful.
So I'm wondering if anybody out there tried using iPhone compatible headphones with a WP7 headset?
I was looking at the SkullCandy Full Metal Jackets today but don't really want to splash out until I know if they'll work with my Trophy.
Thanks
I use sony MX710 with my Mozart rich bass and excellent sound, look on ebay for them a decent price of about £12.00
Ipod headphones work pretty well. You can use the + and - to adjust volume, or press in the middle to stop music or start music. It is not possible to skip songs.

...but iPod headphones are known to be absolutely awful sound-wise are they not?
Yes they do, but the response answers my question.
So, iPhone controls will work in a limited capacity.
Actually I just borrowed some off a work mate and the standard iPhone controls only do Play/Pause/Answer on my Trophy, no volume control.
Bummer..... Looks like I'll be waiting on someone to provide a fully functional version of MS to change the software to work with the most common accessory set available.

The in ear headphones have average sound. Those are the only headphones I have with controls. Just to see if it will work. I'm now using one from sony but can't change the sound with it so I have to grab my phone everytime.

Sound Quality

Can anyone with the phone comment on the sound quality of the Sensation? Also, is the volume as low through headphones as most previous HTC phones?
I use PowerAmp with pair of senhiser, sound loud and quality is awesome.
using a good set of headphones, the sound is really good!, like Hassan said, sound quality is very good and you can change the settings to how you like it.
Without headphones in its acceptable... not great, not terrible, but acceptable

Nice to know that I won't be wasting a pair of Westone 4s by playing my media on the Sensation.
But if you replace the original headphones of HTC, you then cant use it as a hands free speaker right? so would a person have to carry 2 sets of headphones? one for music and one if he wants to talk to someone using the hands free speaker?
Yes i think thats a downside of using own headset.

While I am still waiting for my Sensation, if this handset works the same as previous HTC phones (and there is all indication that it does), any iPhone compatible headset should work just fine.
I've been using the Creative EP-630i (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-EP...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1306766090&sr=8-1) with my HTC Nexus One and Samsung Galaxy S2. The clicker as well as the microphone work as expected. The clicker accepts or ends (long press) calls and performs special functions (like play/pause) in applications that support headset buttons (like the music player, BeyondPod, doubleTwist, ...). The in-line microphone on these earbuds is perfect for calling.
As I wrote previously, any other iPhone-headsets should perform well with this phone (and, as a matter of fact, most other Android phones). The Galaxy S (not 2!) is a popular exception as Samsung used a proprietary connector they have now deprecated with the S2.

You can also buy adapters that add a mic and button control to regular headphones.
Example:
http://www.amazon.com/Headset-Headphones-Adapter-Microphone-iTouch/dp/B002ZX695U/ref=pd_sim_e_2
Here's a thought - I've never had any Android phone before so I'm not sure whether this is possible, but on my N96 I can use regular phones as hands free while using the device's mic. That's also how I plug it into my car - I have an auxiliary 3.5 input that I simply connect my phone to and it works seamlessly.
Would this work on the Sensation as well?

this has worked for me on my hd2... so i assume it will work on sensation too
Guys,
please, leave alone headphones What is the sound quality of loudspeaker and speakerphone? Older HTC android devices were so poor in this department - is sensation any different in sound quality?
Loudspeaker is 'ok', moved on slightly from Desire HD but nothing more.
However it is nice to see that equalizer options are finally available via bluetooth, including SRS. Sounds great with a good pair of bluetooth headphones
Soundquality is good, and the audible volume is the same as the desire hd. the bass is a little less (tested the same audio track & headphone). The higher frequencies are a bit richer (this is great is you like to listen to ye olde cbm64 SID sounds on droidplayer .

Headphones w. Mic

Hello guys!
I'm interested in a pair of headphones/handsfree, but I've tried a few "universal" units and either the buttons or the mic doesn't work with the RAZR HD.
Is there any way we can identify which headphones/handsfree fit on our unit?
Thanks in advance.

There are two specifications for implementing headset-based remote controls. One way is the way Apple implements headset controls. The other way is how everyone else in the industry implements headset controls. (sounds very "Apple-like" doesn't it?)
You can use this general rule:
If the headset says it works with the Apple iPhone, then it probably won't work for the Droid RAZR.
Quick example of this:
Klipsch Image S4: Version of headphones without headset controls.
Klipsch Image S4i: Same headphones, has headset controls that work with Apple iPhones (but not Android)
Klipsch Image S4a: Same headphones, has headset controls that work with Android.
Thanks for the input, but I have tried samsung galaxy s hands free for example and they don't work.

Just to be clear... the headphones and mic for these kinds of heatsets will always work regardless of intended Apple / Android manufacturer. Handling audio is just pure analog electrical signals.
However, the push button controls will depend on how the smartphone manufacturer implemented the control specifications. So even though your Dr. Dre Beats for your iPhone works for your Android smartphone, I'll bet that the buttons (Fast Forward / Rewind / Skip Track / Mute / Volume Up / Volume Down) does not work for Android the way that it works for iPhone.
I have been using Skullcandy ink'd with mic for over 6 months. At TjMaxx and Marshall's for $9.99. I also have Klipsch Promedia with Microphone. They both work flawlessly, but you can't go wrong with Skullcandy for the price. They sound awesome, come with lifetime warranty, and cost so little.
anyone can tell me if this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/A075-SKULLC...128&pid=100015&prg=1006&rk=1&sd=221066028978&

thks a lot!
I would assuming they are the mic one they will. I have a pair of skullcandy fmj's and they work just fine. Also have a pair of Skullcandy 50/50 just the track control buttons don't work but the middle button and the mic work

Im very happy with it
Anyone else can suggest another headphone please?
Thanks
I have Klipsch X7i both the mic and the Play/Pause button work fine. Only volume buttons don't work.
Same with my SOL Republic Tracks HD, mic & play/pause works but not volume
