Hey guys,
I have a rooted J700F with
Knox Warranty Void : 1
can i safely install the stock rom with the use of odin from sammobile?
or is my device gonna brick?
Guys please tell me as this is literally my last phone(if i brick it)(then ill have to use a landline) as i have bricked many phones. and my dad is telling me that he s not gonna give me any more money for all this rooting crap.
stock rom flashing
Yes u can safely flash the stock rom via odin.....if u dont know the process then u can tell me...i ll explain it to u....and if u want i can give u the link of the stock rom......
Thanks for your reply i do know the process (i guess) but i'd like if you explain it to me once again as i don't wanna take any risk!
Thanks in advance!!
I am running J700F on the indian stock rom
First u have to download the stock rom from sammobile.com.....then u have to put the phone into dowload mode.....then connect the phone via usb cable to the pc......u ll get a message that the phone has been added.....then click the ap button on odin and browse to the folder where u have kept the stock rom......that should be the md5 cheksum file.....then wait for some time.....then press the start button....u ll see that nand write will start......congratulations. ....u have finished the process and u are back to the stock rom....i have already done this process for 15 times.....when my phone got stuck into the boot logo.....its a very easy process.... ok.....best of luck....
after flashing will it still show
Knox Warranty Void :1??
Yes....the knox will not work anymore....
Dont use sammobile there is an easier way. Search xda for extracting roms from samsung kies or smartswitch

Stock Firmware
Here's a download of the latest Stock XWJW1 Firmware, with Odin included to flash the three files to your mobile with the xx512.pit file. Mind you, you may need to check [x] Repartition in Odin and make sure you put the right file in the right field for flashing.
Put your phone in Download-mode by Pressing and Holding Power+VOL.Down+Home, let go of the Power-key as the phone boots, but keep pressing Vol.Down+Home. Attach your phone, and flash away.

thanks for the reply and i need more help because i just don't understand that whole firmware thing i just flashed it accidentally because the ARHD ROM needed it so I just flashed the last if you could tell me which firmware i could use i would be grateful
Try to identify your CID, or make your phone superCID. Then you can choose the proper firmware, the same happened for me. It's not bricked, I should say this device is totally unbrickable
Flashing Firmware
This is the complete guide to flashing firmware
I know you will laugh after reading this post. But I have to ask this question
I have more 2months of warranty on my ace plus. Should I root my phone now or after warranty finished?? I'm in confusion. I have rooted my galaxy y after the warranty finished. Rooting means no warranty further, so little bit worry working on me. I can handle any type of problem related to software or by help of XDA-developpers. But if after some days of rooting my phone's hardware starts problematic then what..

i had the same situation... but when i did i had like 1.5 years of warranty
Well I would say you should root when you want because 3 months after rooting i had a battery problem.
I even had a custom rom in it that works perfectly (cm10.1 by TheWhisp) but i knew they would see this so i did the easiest thing: flashed my stock firmware.
sent to my local service and i got a new battery
i think they can see what i did but they will not spend their time testing our phones...
i have 5 more months of warranty and how i said if it starts being problematic just flash the stock firmware with odin and you will have the phone like you had when you bought it, i think they do the same thing if you send it to a service so just be careful what you do
if you only want to root it i bet you will have no problems, even it will work better.( that's why i did )
so my answer is Yes! you should do
yes u can...
well if u want to use custom roms & all other mods,
you have to root ur device which u may also know
& yup root mean void warranty but if u face any problem just reflash stock rom which mean u r in warranty period not a single sign of rooting when u flash stock firmware

What about flash counter?? If i flash with stock firmware will it be erased or set to zero?? You know about custom flash counter which countes how many time you have flashed the nand memory.

if you download your stock rom from sammobile or samsungupdates, it will include only the necessary files. if it includes a .pit, use it, otherwise dont. (usually there isnt one)

Sammobile and other sites only have the 4.2.2 version, my phone has the ver 4.3 which i prefer.. So i should include the PIT file? And what are the chances or bricking this phone? Because im just after getting it fixed from a hard brick.. Thank you for your reply

how did you update to 4.3? if its a custom rom, you can just flash 4.2.2 again, then install the rom. if its by ota or kies, install 4.2.2 and update the same way again.

I dont think its a custom rom.. After i bricked my old motherboard i bought this new one from ebay.. It had 4.3 pre installed from OTA update i think.. Then i rooted the phone and kept getting the "system ui" error, then i unrooted the phone and hard reset it, didnt fix the problem. So im trying to flash UCUEMK2 which my phone already has.. 4.2.2 has many bugs and i cant send apps to memory card in 4.2.2 thats why im trying to get 4.3.. Thanks

EDIT:

Thats y im confused.. It would be easy to flash 4.2.2 but the problem is i live in Ireland and we didnt get the 4.3 update here yet and i cant use OTA as its locked to AT&T.. Its very confusing i know.. But thank you so much for helping me

well, you can try without the .pit, if it dosent work do it again with, its simple. if you brick it, then use the 4..2.2 to uynbrick then try the other method, so no matter what its not a biggie.

so try without the pit file, if you brick flash tthe 4.2.2 to unbrick.
what do you mean, you actually had to replace a physical piece because of a brick??? never heard of that happening before

Yeah if u hard brick it, the phone doesnt do anything.. Not even charge or flash a light.. Its just completely dead.. You could get it unbricked if ur living in USA or UK and few other countries using JTag method but in ireland they dont have the tools to do it, not even the samsung repair shop, so i had to buy a new motherboard.. Thats why im very scared to do this..

you can also get a usb jig off ebay for about $5, just plug it into the port and it boots into odin mode.

So, i was trying to flash a ROM after i got my recovery and root going on, i wiped EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE recovery file i made and the installation file i got in the phone when i went to wipe the system files and attempt to install the ROM. So, i tried to put the ROM files into my phone via the ADB method. It worked but my ROM didn't and now my S6 is in a boot loop. i have tired Odin, smartwatch and kies. On kies and smart watch, they both said the attempt to install stock ROM failed and attempt a emergency recovery. HOWEVER, both software did not recognize my device in the emergency recovery devices list, nor did it recognize it as a compatible device in the 1st place, i tired to reinstall the drivers and the software themselves but nothing worked. For Odin, it keeps on saying fail to flash as well, it usually stuck on the 'nano write' process or 'setting up connection' process for a long time too! I did download the official Samsung firmware and extracted it, put it into the blank next to the 'AP' button in odin and i got 'Auto Reboot' and 'F. Reset Time' checked off. On the phone, i can boot in to download mode and download mode only, now it shows me a triangle and it says that stock firmware flash failed and use emergency recovery. i actually download a custom recovery and for some reason it wont boot into that.
Model number: SM-G920W8
carrier: fido
If any of you pros got any ideas please share with me, i've been trying to fix this problem for about a day and a night.

about roms, i still got 5.1.1 so if i want to install a rom, does it matter? or is it just about finding the 1 for your model. i want to install XtreStoLite but some versions have android 6.0 in the title and some have 5.1.1, and why don't posts about roms have any comments?
