Hi.
I'm having trouble with my android system.
I have a microSD with 2 partitions, first one is classic FAT32, second one is ext4 (mainly used for link2sd and other stuff). I would like to write a file that is more tha 4Gb (so over the 4Gb limit of FAT32) on that second partition, if possible by 2 means. Of course my phone is rooted. So here are my questions:
- Is it possible to see the second partition from windows when USB cable is plugged (maybe with a software? or via linux?) and then transfer the file.
- Is it possible to write to that partition directly from an app ? I was looking for some way to create a symlink in first partition to second, but it seems impossible on android systems.
- Is it possible to format the first partition to ext4, and still be able to use it as normal (windows file transfer, app reading/writing, etc...)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Rox.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I see you've posted here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/moto-g-xt1033-help-required-resizing-t3162842 That's the best place as they are the experts on your device. Changing partition sizes on an Android device is fairly technical and specific to the device. Doing it wrong is a sure way to brick the device. Hello, I am Prakhar Mishra, and I own a Micromax Canvas Viva a72. It runs on Gingerbread. It's internal space is really low. Before this, I had rooted it and made a second partition and used Link2SD for storing apps in it. It worked perfectly. Today, I factory reseted my phone, formatted the SD card and create the second partition like before (Ext2). Now, the system detects the Ext2 Partition. But LINK2SD doesnt detect it. It says Failed to create mount scripts. I followed all steps and created the second partition numerous times as Ext2, Ext3, etc. I even tried to use another SD card. But I have the same error. My phone is rooted. Please tell me if there is any solution to this problem, I really need LINK2SD for linking my app's data.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
As there is little resources about your device, all I can really suggest is the non-specific forum:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly]
Or you can post in the Link2SD thread:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games > [APP][1.6+] Link2SD
Hope this helps, and good luck!

I partitioned my sd card with AParted app. After I did it I saw three local drives on my file Explorer (ES File Explorer) - one internal and two external (as expected). And also I was able to see these three partitions when connected to PC. And I was able to mount the second partition in Link2SD app. After few days, the second partition disappeared from the explorer somehow. I don't know the cause of it. But I am still able to mount the second partition in Link2SD. And I have no problem in linking the apps to the second partition. Is there any way to make the second partition folder reappear again in the file Explorer.
Phone : Samsung S Duos
Second partition : ext2
Hi
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Try posting your question in the Q&A section of your device:
Galaxy S Duos Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Solution : Location of other partitions of SD Card
Second partition (or any partition) can be found on the root folder of any phone. Just Go to the following folder which has the path :
/data/sdext2
(If the required partition format is ext2)
If some other format is present, then the innermost folder may have a different name.
Try searching by name of the format or something like that.

Hi Primokorn
Thank you for suggesting to post this question in my device Q&A section. But I don't find the need in that. I believe this is a common question which do not require any information particular to any phone. Anyway, thanks for your concern.
Actually it can be device specific e.g there’s no sdext2 folder into /data partition for the Nexus 5.
Glad to know you got it fixed
No support from zeki. They said sorry can't help. And past any warranty to return.
Zeki tablet TBQG884B kitkat 4.4.2
I tried a swap ram thing to try increase memory size/speed.
dev_mount sd card change
I didn't quite know what I was doing. Didn't make a backup, etc.
I rooted tablet with kingoroot it's still on it. So is superuser but it asks to download binary files again, but can't because no sd card mounted. Internal or external.
It won't connect to computer usb debuging or mass storage at all.
I can no longer get into system files file explorer etc., to try to reverse/fix what I did.
It said nand flash something instead of sd in video. I now know I shouldn't of edited it.
Is there any way I fix it. Maybe put a different OS on it? If that would fix it? Maybe something from google/android and kitkat?
It works as far as going online with brower. But not much more. won't mount either sd.
I looked everywhere and trying everything. Please help. Thanks.
It said in video to go into sysytem files and change ...

Hello everyone, i'm a newbie here so, cheers to you all.
I recently had a major problem. My android phone wasn´t working too well, so i perform a factory reset trough the recovery menu (i couldn't even enter my phone), but i have removed the micro sd with some afraid that it will also be formated.
When i restarted the phone it was all ok, but when i inserted the micro sd it has said the same thing it said the first time:
if i want to use has portable storage or use has internal memory (this option i selected the first time), and if i select it again it will format all data on it, so i connected the mSD to my PC but i couldn´t read it because it is in GPT mode... PLEASE HEEEEEELP
i really need the files on the partition of the mSD, funny (or not) thing, the mSD has 2 partitions, one with 17MB and another one with the 29GB (this partition is the one that i can´t access, the smaller one is already formated).
Wich (free) tools can i use so i can recover the info? let me know please.
Thank you all.

I'm using a Oukitel K6000 (Android 6.0), and first time i have inserted the mSD card i have choose the option to consider it has internal storage, it was all good until the day i couldn´t even boot the phone. That day i removed the memory card, and started the phone in recovery mode, wiped all cache data but still would't enter the phone system, so i decided to factory reset through the same recovery menu. It has entered the system, and of course done all initial configuration of Android, but then, when i have inserted the mSD card (that i believe it's locked to him to avoid using it in another device, from what i've read) it gives me the 2 options to treat it has portable storage or to treat it has internal storage, either way, they now ask me for formating.... and thats what i don´t want to do.
