[Completed] Help for LINK2SD Second Partition - XDA Assist

Hello, I am Prakhar Mishra, and I own a Micromax Canvas Viva a72. It runs on Gingerbread. It's internal space is really low. Before this, I had rooted it and made a second partition and used Link2SD for storing apps in it. It worked perfectly. Today, I factory reseted my phone, formatted the SD card and create the second partition like before (Ext2). Now, the system detects the Ext2 Partition. But LINK2SD doesnt detect it. It says Failed to create mount scripts. I followed all steps and created the second partition numerous times as Ext2, Ext3, etc. I even tried to use another SD card. But I have the same error. My phone is rooted. Please tell me if there is any solution to this problem, I really need LINK2SD for linking my app's data.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
As there is little resources about your device, all I can really suggest is the non-specific forum:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly]
Or you can post in the Link2SD thread:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games > [APP][1.6+] Link2SD
Hope this helps, and good luck!

If @xzy99 posts a follow up question in this thread, please do not delete it. He is the OP. See this thread for more details.

[Completed] I've paid for link2sd plus but it doesn't work!

Hi,
first of all sorry for my english.
I like very much your app. I use your app in all phones. When a friend asks me how can he boost his phone, i suggest him to install link2sd because is the only app that move all apps into external sd.
But i have a problem. In my phone, when i have upgrated to KitKat version of Andoid, Link2sd doesn't work with the second partition. I've tried to format the second partition in ext2, and Link2sd said me that "script cannot be created".
I've tried to format the second partition in ext3, but it was the same. I've tried to format the second partition in f2fs, but it was the same.
Only in ext4 Link2sd can create the script and it can see the second partition!!
But when i link an app to the second partition, it doesn't and say me "reboot the phone".
When i've rebooted the phone, the app that i've linked is corrupted.
I researched on internet and it seems that is a problem of Kitkat that prevent to write in the external storage. So i've resolved this problem with this tutorial --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524277
But Link2sd still does not work....
My device name is: 706v92_jbla_fhd
Finally, i want to say that with Jelly bean version of Android, Link2sd was perfect and it worked very well. Now, with Kitkat Android, i cannot link apps to second partition!!
What can i do??

Hi there,
For these problems go to app thread and ask the developer:
[APP][1.6+] Link2SD
Or ask in the right Q&A forum here: > Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck

[Completed] [Q] Cannot Create Link in Link2SD

My phone is Sony Xperia E, it has unlocked bootloader, rooted (usng superSU), and using unofficial cm 11 custom rom. I've been trying to use Link2SD apps since my phone memory's relatively small. My secong partition in my microSD SDHC class 4 Card is 5858 MB. So far, it successful to move apps to SD Card. But whenever i tries to create link in Link2SD, it always failed. It says, "Link2SD package invalid.". Please hep me solve this problem, thank you in advance btw.
Hi,
You can review the first post of the Link2SD thread here, to be sure you are doing everything correct...
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games > [APP][1.6+] Link2SD
I'd start also on the last page and read back a bit to see if anyone else has discussed this issue.
If you still need help, you can register on XDA and ask for help in the thread.
Good luck!

[Completed] [Q] Can't mount Link2SD partition after reflashing CM, please help

I'm not a programmer - I just did my first root of my Galaxy S4 Blaze last month so please bear with me.
This morning I flashed a different version of CM 11 because of some weird things happening with the nightly I got a couple of days ago; that worked fine. This is what I'm using and have been using since about a month ago, except for the last few days:
cwm-11-20150119-NIGHTLY-t769.zip
Got all my apps and data back thanks to Titanium Backup, everything is working fine. But when I reinstalled Link2SD, I set it to Ext4 as it was before and I get this error:
"Mount Script Error - mount script cannot be created. Can't create handler inside thread that has not called Looper.prepare(0)."
Link2SD was working fine before the ROM change. When I partitioned it, the second partition was Ext4. I tried uninstalling Link2SD, rebooting, reinstalling and then trying the other Ext (2, 3) with the same result.
Not knowing what else to do I backed up my card and used Mini Partition Wizard to delete and recreate the partitions (FAT32 and Ext4) . Exact same error in Link2SD.
I tried making both partitions FAT32, same error.
I have no idea what else to try here. Could something have happened to my SD card while it was in the phone this morning during the
ROM change? I find that kind of hard to believe. Can someone help me, please?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I can see you've also created an identical thread here:
[Q] Can't mount second Link2SD partition in CM 11
Please refer to the XDA Forum Rules for information regarding the duplication of posts/threads. I'm going to close this thread as you're already receiving help in the other one. If it turns out that the help you're receiving there doesn't resolve your issue you might want to ask your question in the link2sd thread here:
[APP][1.6+] Link2SD
But, only do that if your own thread goes nowhere, don't have the same discussion in multiple places at once, again refer the the XDA rules for more information.
Good luck!

Everything is OK with it. The problem is that, when I am trying to install NBA2K15 apk..its about 1.75GB...I cannot have it installed successfully. Its not saying that its out of space, its only giving me an error that app is not installed. Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
It could be that "Install Location" is different from download location (and it is thus still trying to download on internal storage).
At any rate, please create an account, so you can post in other forums. From there, check out this thread (add a post, explaining your situation):

Hope this helps, and good luck!

[Completed] Second partition (ext2) not visible in File Explorer

I partitioned my sd card with AParted app. After I did it I saw three local drives on my file Explorer (ES File Explorer) - one internal and two external (as expected). And also I was able to see these three partitions when connected to PC. And I was able to mount the second partition in Link2SD app. After few days, the second partition disappeared from the explorer somehow. I don't know the cause of it. But I am still able to mount the second partition in Link2SD. And I have no problem in linking the apps to the second partition. Is there any way to make the second partition folder reappear again in the file Explorer.
Phone : Samsung S Duos
Second partition : ext2
Hi
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Try posting your question in the Q&A section of your device:
Galaxy S Duos Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Solution : Location of other partitions of SD Card
Second partition (or any partition) can be found on the root folder of any phone. Just Go to the following folder which has the path :
/data/sdext2
(If the required partition format is ext2)
If some other format is present, then the innermost folder may have a different name.
Try searching by name of the format or something like that.

Hi Primokorn
Thank you for suggesting to post this question in my device Q&A section. But I don't find the need in that. I believe this is a common question which do not require any information particular to any phone. Anyway, thanks for your concern.
Actually it can be device specific e.g there’s no sdext2 folder into /data partition for the Nexus 5.
Glad to know you got it fixed
