[Q] Problem while bringing Infuse to new life: no way to reach CWM. - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hi everyobody:
i was trying to install a new ROM in my old and unused Infuse but a I had to stop soon for the following reason.
As described here [ODIN][UCLB3] UCLB3 Unbrick - Return to stock - Working PIT included by jscott30 i succesfully returned to stock 2.3.6 Gingerbread UCLB3 but but now i have the "rainbow distortion" while rebooting that makes me impossible to use the CWM menu to install the 4.3 ROM.
As suggested I also tryied to install the GB bootloader but Odin always gives me a FAIL feedback.
Can you please help me get out of this?
Thank you

Hi, i decided to try again. I have recovered the rainbow distortion and now i have a 2.3.6 working.
Can you please help me with a link to the next step? How can i now install red CWM to load a new ROM (4.4.2 or 4.4)?
Thanks

You got the GB bootloader working? That would be required to use CWM, or else you will be stuck back in post one.
If sorted out, Option C would be the way to go:

What did you flash from? GB? Or the ICS leak?
My recommendation would be to flash the latest ICS leak and then flash SkyICS as instructed. Worked fine for me.
thanks for advice.. i was flashing from GB and get this problem. But i am able to flash to leak now. Will try to update again. thanks

I would flash the latest ICS leak and then from there, flash SkyICS. Flashing from GB has had it's probems.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652660 will get you to the latest leak. Have you used Odin before? Gotten into download mode? If not, I'm sure we can help you through it.

Stock ODIN recovery (.tar.md5) for GT-P6210?

Hi Folks,
Noob here... I've been lurching about the forum for about a year now, and finally decided to man up and sign up.
I apologize in advance if this has been addressed in previous posts, but my numerous searches have not been successful.
I am encountering some issues with my CWM recovery and I need to revert to the stock recovery. Can anyone point me to a resource where I can download the GT-P6210 - ODIN stock recovery so I can remove CWM?
I am currently running the permanent (ODIN) CWM recovery.tar.md5 from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777003
Thanks a lot!

I see how it works now. For some reason, I thought the stock recovery was a stand alone aspect, independent of the OS/firmware. It appears that simply flashing the stock firmware also got rid of the CWM and reverted me to stock recovery. Thank you for setting me straight!

[Q] Galaxy S GT I9003 stuck in recovery loop

I had GT i9003 with 2.3.6 as the firmware.
I recently flashed custom ROM CM10-GalaxySL-JZO54K-Alpha4.zip , which worked fine intially.

After doing the restore I am stuck.
Right now whatever i do the phone comes back to CWM recovery. I have tried to flash the phone again with

If you made a NANDROID(CWM) backup of your GingerBread 2.3.6 firmware, you won´t be able restore it while still on CM10.(as mentioned by MR.Volkf).
I suppose you know that to get back to 2.3.6 you will need to use ODIN to flash the firmwares previously mentioned.
If you´re not familiar with the proper steps involved with ODIN, here´s a great guide on how to do that, thanks to "Misledz".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
Once you get back to GB(2.3.6), then I believe you should be able to restore any GB NANDROID backups that you may have previously made.(From the restore option in CWM recovery mode).
Good Luck!

Directly booting to recovery

I have a rooted S-7500, with CWM recovery 5.0.2.8 installed. I (by mistake) allowed the 'software update' option to install a system update(or something) today by mistake (I know, you should never install system updates after rooting. My bad.) Since then, the phone directly goes to the cwm recovery mode on powering on, and i am unable to do anything else
I am not very well versed with the finer details of rooting bootloader recovery n all...so pls some details with steps...if possible .
Any help whatsoever...please I will be really grateful

Thanks!!! It totally worked!
Just a clarification...now that i have got the stock rom back on my phone...am i right in saying that I have lost root access, my phone is totally back to the 'original' state, and i have lost CWM as well? Please correct me if I am wrong.
And assuming that I am correct(above), I would like to re-root my device(need to use proxydroid to surf internet over the damned proxy server!). So..can I follow the standard method, ie, can I do it the same way I had done before, or do i need to do something different now?
And once again...THANK YOU for your help! I had ended up hard bricking my previous phone, and was really scared when this happend to my aceP. You saved me!
Easy way to ROOT your SGAP
Yes by the time you flash stock rom you loss root even any custom recovery you flashed before...
but now if you want to root your SGAP again don't follow that guide again which you done before just follow this :
Download ODIN from Downloading link below (inside ODIN software folder)
Download any one recovery which you like TWRAP / CWM v5.5 (inside Custom recovery folder)
Download Root_SGAP.zip from Root folder & place that zip inside in your sd card

Download Link : GALAXY Ace Plus - Basic stuff
FOR Custom_Recovery :
Open odin, be sure your system has already install drivers & if kies is there close it.
extract recovery zip
connect device to pc in download mod (vol down + power + home) & select that (recovery) .md5 file in pda section inside ODIN software
Click start & wait to reboot device
FOR ROOT :
Now boot device in CWM mod ( vol up + down + power + home)
choose zip from sd card & select Root_SGAP.zip
DONE.

you've successfully ROOT & flash custom recovery on your device by just few simple steps
Just 1 more qstn...is it necessary to apply a custom recovery before rooting? If no, is it recommended?? Because the last time i rooted, it made me put a custom recovery before rooting.

if you are going to stick on stock rom forever & only want to root device then stock recovery is ok for you...
but while dealing with custom roms, custom recoveries are smart choice.
it has lot of additional options than stock recovery.
so my opinion yes use custom recovery
Stuck in boot loop
Got stuck in boot loop after performing the steps. I was running this ROM.
Had to reinstall the ROM. I'm sure there's something I didn't understand or something I did wrong. I'd be thankful if anyone could point it out.
Thanks in advance.

JB leak 3 means jelly bean stock rom (works on Indian A2)
And about that list, these are ICS stock ROMs (I guess some are gb), use any Retail asia like 28-37 searet (actually I dont remember which exactly I used)
But my suggestion is to use that JB leak 3. (works great on my ph) (I am also from India )
You can install any stock rom (jb/ics) BMM works on both

Your phone needs to be in ap fastboot just to be clear to flash... an also have all the drivers installed properly and make sure rsd is up to date as well. Then its all a matter of doing research and finding a file that acctually works.
An make sure your flashing the file thats appropriate to the firmware you had on your phone before this happened. I hope this helps.
**Also you dont want to be flashing both gb/ics firmwares thats how you will brick your device.
