Phone can't turn on ("crashes" during boot) - LG G Flex 2

Hello guys,
So yesterday night, I connected my phone to my charger before going to bed. Then I saw the phone restart itself (showing the logo animation). Was tired so I just decided to ignore it.
This morning, the phone is not working. When trying to turn the phone on using the power button, it doesn't work. So holding the power button + Volume down button for 10 seconds worked, and the phone showed the boot animation. However, after a while the phone would crash and just turn off during the LG animation. Sometimes the phone would manage to go through the boot animation and saw Optimising apps 1 of 200, but it will never go through the process before shutting itself off.
After leaving it for 8 hours, it doesn't even respond to anything. Holding the power button, with or without the volume down key, connecting it to a PC. Nothing works. Tried charging for an hour but no response as well.
So just some information about this phone:
H959
Running v15e (5.0.1)
Not rooted

Oh another H959 down

Install the USB drivers from LG site as well as LG Mobile Support Tool. Turn it off, hold volume up button and plug USB cable, the phone will now go into download mode. In LGMST use recovery mode or something like that, u will find it in upper right corner.

Still not working D: The phone didn't respond and the computer didn't detect the device.
Could it be a battery issue?

I had very similar issue with 955. Main board was replaced.

mainboard costs like 100+$ what the ****... its just 7 months old

in some country, like in France, warranty is 2 years. How long last your warranty?

i'm gonna order the battery from aliexpress to see if it fixes anything. a guy in the shop said if it were the processor for charging it wouldnt turn on. he is also thinking its the battery. the battery will come then in 2-3 weeks. i already bought a g3. my wife has i and on 6.0 its a beast plus the screen is beautiful.
as for the warranty, the problem is i bought my phone in the us and now i am in serbia and after that in canada. it's not worth sending it and waiting for it.

Yes, it's the battery for my case.
Sent from Nexus 5X NDP5 on RingPlus

Exact the same issue with my LGH955. First could be turned on by PB+VD buttons, but crashed after some time. Now, 8 hours later it's not starting anymore. I'm thinking about a new battery (something about 25$ on ebay), but if it's not battery caused, i'will kill my warranty, puh... Or just send it to seller / lg service for an repair...

Same random crashes problem solved
My h955 also had problem with bootloop after 6 months off buying the phone.Tryed with soft and hard reset with no result.Lucky phone was in waranty and it turned up to bi morherboard which was replaced. Now using it for few months with no problems. It seams the problem accurs after 6-7 months of using and it look like the same problem LG g4 has.Fingers crosed that is not a so much common problem with the Lg g flex 2.

Mine - H959 - exhibited the same symptoms after a year of being used. It completely died after 6-7 minutes of running the StabilityTest app.
The charging flex was changed under warranty and the phone seems to run fine now. However, I am reluctant in running the StabilityTest app again, but would kill it again to somehow get rid of it if it's a design flaw that's causing these problems and the warranty accepts it's exchange for something else.

got my phone back today from LG support. reason was defect mainboard - was replaced. now it works fine again. funny surprise: before deadly crashes i was only able to install the 5.1.1 version of android. now it's back with 6.0.1 preinstalled (V20c-EUR-XX)...

I had the same problem, replacing the battery didn't fix it, so I took the mainboard out and used a high power air dryer and blew super hot air on it (both sides) for a good 3 or 4 minutes. Now it's working again. Too bad I already bought a new phone.

-The usb port does not charge anymore although another battery should work
-Motherboard is dead
-currently i am charging it for like 10 hours to see if the phones probably couldve messed up the bios that tells it that it fully charged
-And the last thing I am going to do is switch pieces from a working phone over to that untill it finally works

LG G Flex 2 H950 Random rebooting

Hi guys!
I bought one of those LG G Flex 2 H950 @ US$249 on eBay from Qualitycellz. However, my unit seems to have some issues...
It does not matter what I am doing on my phone, does not matter whether I am using a SIM-card or not (I tried the phone with and without Sim-Card), my phone keeps rebooting on various situations, meaning that there is no pattern or logic on those restarts. Usually I am just casually using my LG G Flex 2 and bang, the phone restarts. I can't find any meaning at all. I have looked it up but I could not find anyone with a similar issue, nor a solution.
What makes it even more crazy is the fact that I have tried numerous factory resets, as well as installing a new ROM! (I have installed the H950PR 5.1.1 ROM over the 5.0.2 AT&T one), however the phone is still not working properly. I could swear the problem was the ROM, but it looks like it is not.
What can I do about it?! I live overseas so returning the phone to get a new one is not an option, and warranty for LG is not international :crying:
Thank you and best regards.
The phone has a hardware defect most likely. I had this problem with my G2 a few months after I purchased it. Regardless of temp or ROM the phone would reboot all the time.

I see. And how did you solve the problem in the end?
If this is really a hardware problem, I am helpless, I guess...since I am not in the United States right now.

It was never resolved, actually got worse ha-ha. Sometime in Aug or July it stopped going into the OS so I started disassembling it out of frustration. Also linked the wrong post.

Exact same issue
I also bought an lg g flex 2 from ebay user qualitycellz. I also do not live in the US. My phone started doing these resets and it got to the point at which it gave up and just wont start... (It tries and tries again until i plug it in or it runs out of charge). There seems to be something dodgy with the seller and I will be emailing him regarding the issue.
Chiming in here, same issue, same ebay seller. Any updates from you guys?

Same issue here. To turn device back on I have to hit the power and the volume down. If I upgrade to marshmallow will it fix the issue?
My phone reboots when i use 4G, i now only use 3G to avoid any problem, but that's annoying
To bump my previous post, I talked to LG, they claimed a motherboard problem and will be replacing it under warranty.
Same problem here

I too had this same problem for past 2 month's.It all started with the mobile restarting randomly ..2 days ago it stopped to boot up at all.:crying:
It just keeps bootlopping on the LG screen .turns off and again LG.
When I try to use it plugged in ,it works a but slower than normal.
I think it is a hardware issue.maybe with the battery?Guess only ?
Anyone here has a solution ?I am currently outside us .:crying:
I have the same issue with my Flex -2 purchased from same seller last year August.
I also bought an lg g flex 2 from ebay user qualitycellz. I also do not live in the US. My phone started doing these resets for last 4 days. It tries and tries again until i plug it in and press power button. If I disconnect from the wall, it stopped working. But since yesterday it got to the point at which it gave up and just wont start. I see only the LG screen flashing. If I press the power buton

You'll have to send it in. It's a hardware bootloop problem. Only LG can fix it unfortunately.

Solved
I have changed battery. No more problem with randomly reboot.
Lg flex 2 restarting problem
I tried a lot of things but now i am sure this is a battery problem ,i noticed that when i charge my phone to 100 percent it started normally so every time i charge it all the way to 100 percent it works and when i dont it just restarts so you have 2 options to replace the battery or charge your phone fully every time
Hope this one helped
My G flex 2 also started doing the same. Seller was also the same qualitycellz from ebay.
My flex2 also started random reboots. Once mainboard was changed because there was bootloop issue, but now its a bit different. Also a bit over one year with a new board.. Maybe the reason of it is battery because its quite old. well, I need to wipe it clean just in case.

Hard-Bricked Hammerheads thread

My Nexus 5 died on me.
A few days ago, I woke up and connected my phone to the charger and went on with my daily routines. And when I checked the phone after half an hour, the phone was completely off. I tried to turn it on and tried all the key combinations, the phone showed no response at all; no Google logo, no bootloader, no TWRP, the screen was just completely off. I thought that it was the battery's fault as the phone was almost 2 years old and had been showing signs of depreciation. It doesn't even show anything even when I connect it to the charger, instead it heats up a lot during charging. So I took it to the service centre and the guys at the service centre told me that the motherboard had got fried and the only solution is to get a new mobo which costs 13,500 INR (200$). But, I don't want to spend that much fixing this device, I think its better to buy a new phone. I am planning to get something cheaper than the Nexus 5 with a not bad specification and good dev support (thinking about Moto G 3 and OPX).
Three of my friends also had bad experience with the Nexus 5.
One friend had the same issue, the phone died one day without any apparent reason. He is now using a YU Yuphoria.
The other two friends' phones just started bootlooping one day. Both those phones were not even rooted ( not the power button issue, they also had to replace the motherboards, but luckily their devices were under warranty back then, so they got it replaced for free). I think LG used cheap low quality components to make the Nexus 5.
What do you guys think could have caused this problem?
I had the same issue. I received a Nexus Device from a friend with a faulty wireless card. I know it was faulty because when I could get it turned on, it would never turn the WiFi adapter on.
What I did to fix it was, I ordered a broken Nexus off ebay. The screen was cracked and the guy tried replacing it but he f'd up the internals somehow. I swapped out the mother board which was easy and flashes stock Marshmallow and haven't had any problems since.

But that's just a small issue compared to mine :/.
Still a sign of cheap components.

Same thing would fix yours. If you buy one with a broken screen then just swap motherboard it would be cheaper than buying a mb replacement. I have the opposite issue with my wife's G2, motherboard is ok, but everything else, screen, battery, toast.

LG G4 AT&T gets heated up , crashes and switches off. [EMERGENCY]

My LG G4 AT&T switched itself off yesterday suddenly , after that it turned back on normally. But after some time it happened again and when I try to switch it back on it tries to boot but after LG logo , sometimes at LG logo it gets heated up and gets turned off. It gets heated up near camera area, I reset my phone . Last night I left my phone charging and today it turned back on for some time. When I turned it off to insert sim and memory card , it didn't get turned on. As it is an emergency and currently I cant get my phone to any shop , can anyone suggest me a way to fix this , given my zero experience with hardware and some with software. Sorry if my english is bad . Thanks .

It's either battery or hardware failure. Hate to give bad news but hardware failure with the G4 is extremely common. Only fix is a board replacement. Others have been able to temp revive them by placing them in an oven etc but that's not recommended.

First of all thanks , I was freaking out . So what would have you done if it would have happened to you? Given I can't take this phone to a repair shop , as I fried up my second LG G4 , first one was Verizon ( Leave that part ) and my parents are gonna kill me when they find out . So should I even bother buying another battery and try inserting it into my phone and check ? or it will not be helpful ? What should I do ?
Did I say thanks ?

Your very welcome. You could try another battery. But if you just Google LG G4 bootloop you'll see it's a huge issue LG will warranty it as long as there's no damage.

I bought it off some ebay seller , so I guess there's no warranty for it . I live in India and its an imported version and there's no AT&T service centers here and neither LG Service centers will lay their hands on it . So if its the case with hardware failure , I guess I should buy a board and get it replaced . I think first I am going to try replacing battery , if it works out then great else I guess I will be in huge problem . Appreciate the help.!

I've got the same error when I woke up yesterday the phone was at 55% battery. I'm in contact now with the store I bought it from. I've been using the phone for about one and a half months.

I got the same issues. There is a repair video on youtube. I wonder how many users have similar issues.
I had the same issue in December - I sent it back to the store I bought it from, and they repaired it, but after a short while it had the same problem again. I ended up repairing it a 2nd time myself.
For me it was the flex cable that stretches from the charging port over the battery to the mainboard - I suspect it overheats or becomes detached or some combination of those two things. I suspect the 'turbo' charger that comes with the phone overheats the battery and damages that cable, but it's only a suspicion. Since I repaired the phone I've been using a quick charge 3 charger instead... not as quick but not too bad either.
This is a repair video for it that I found after I fixed mine... if you wanna try doing it yourself. Not horribly difficult...
You'd need a new flex cable first - I ordered two from SunSky and had it delivered for around 13 Australian dollars altogether. It's been working since I fixed it back in January without any problems.
Good luck.

I didn't have trouble opening my cover as the people at the shop I bought it from who repaired it the first time had already opened it - I didn't have to heat it up at all. I used a guitar pick to re-open it... wasn't difficult.
So to answer your question - I don't know how long, as I didn't have to use heat for my situation, sorry.
I used hair dyer to heat for 2 mins to open poco f2 back cover.
