So this is my problem. I want to root my device but without loosing the data and keeping all the installed apps. Is it possible ?
Another noob question : Can i root without unlocking bootloader ? Cuz my device is Asus ZenPad C 7.0 And asus' warranty voids on unlocking bootloader not by rooting.
Thanks !

Hey guys I've read on internet that you can root(xperia arc) the phone without unlocking the bootloader using Gingerbreak. Is that real? And if you root without unlocking bootloader, will you void anymore the warranty?
Is there a possibility in the future to get root without unlocking the bootloader, so we won't loose the warranty?

Hello,
I just baught a nvidia shield tablet k1, (lolli pop 5.1.1) I want to only root my device and not unlock the bootloader, because unlocking the bootloader will void your warrant for ever.
SO please can someone guide me to a solution to root the device without unlocking the bootloader ?
Rooting also voids the warranty (unless things have changed) recently w/ warranties and such.
Here is something that might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nvidia-shield/general/root-guide-shield-shield-tablet-root-t2833943
I cant personally say it works or not since I just unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP once I made sure it was in working order.
Thnx, as far as I understood rooting will void warranty but if you unroot then you still have your warranty. But with unlocking bootloader there is no way back to gain your warranty ones you unlock the bootloader.
And Towelroot does not support lolli pop 5.1.1 bro

Hello,
i have to root my S8 pro now because the whole internal memory is nearly used by apps and system.
Is there a opportunity to root my device without unlocking bootloader?
I found magisk to modify the boot-partition and for example getting root on the device.
But you have to unlock the bootloader to flash the new boot-partition. I also read that unlocking bootloader always means that the whole device is resetted to factory-defaults which means losing all installed apps.
I have about 50 !! banking apps for generating TANs. For these apps, it's not enough to reinstall the app. You also need to reconnect the app (especially the device) to the banking account.
I think the only way to backup the the configured and connected app is to have root on the device, right?
My plan was to root the device without unlocking bootloader, then make a full-backup, unlock bootloader which resetting the deivce, and restore the full-backup.
After this, I un-root my device because the banking-apps check if a device is rooted. My plan is t re-roote the device using magisk only when needed and when no banking app is used, and then un-root it again.
Any idea how to solve my problem?
Regards

Really?
unlocked bootloader ist neccessary all the time while device is rooted, not only when flashing?
