[Q] htc bootloader unlock mucks up root access

Hi,
Phone in question is Tmobile G2
I have had temp root access for sometime and used it to freeze apps that I did not trust/etc.
I had wanted to get perm root but the wiki instructions were a little bit too haphazard for me and I did not wish to have to downgrade off gingerbread.
Someone said there was a newer way that did not require a downgrade and you unlocked the bootloader from htc web site. Well I did that and somehow it's mucked up temp root access as Titanium no longer works.
How could unlocking bootloader screw this up?
Think I am ok now. It was superuser that was messed up. New version requires yes/no (or default set to yes) before Tbackup will get root access.
To anyone else with a G2 that was frustrated with these unclear wiki instructions/downgrading/etc:
It appears that unlocking the boot loader does in fact give you perm root access.
Go to htcdev to unlock your phone. You will need the superuser app but that should be it.
Now just need a good firewall to stop these programs from using my data anytime they please. Any good recommendations?

[Q] Root questions

Help on root? Do I have to unlock my bootloader from the Motorola website?
Because on my S2, all I had to do was use odin and stuff, didn't have to unlock anything.
What exactly does unlocking my bootloader do? Is it absolutely necessary for rooting or are they both the same thing?
Help me root please. Thanks!
First time Motorola.
yes, it is necessary.
you have to register for, what i can only see as a system to tell them you've voided your warranty.

[Q] What is the actual way to unlock & root a LTE with lollipop?

There are many threads about how to unlock and root but things get old much fast, I feel like FAQ is too old to follow.
I prefer ask before make same thing wrong.
I have a Moto G 4g with lollipop locked and orginal, so I decide to put new thing now because same things are annoying me in the phone, I think xposed can help me well, so I only need unlock and put root, but need to know the last way to do this, I know unlock is easy but what recovery to flash and how? What I need to root? Is there same problem with xposed in lollipop?
I did come from Razer D3 mediatek, had not unlocked bootloader but was easy to root and te best way to custom was with xposed, so im more "acquainted" with this.
any help on this would be appreciated.
Please someone answers!!
If your phone is not retail and your carrier locked your bootloader, it's not currently possible to unlock the bootloader or permanently root it. You can only temproot it currently.
If you want to flash a recovery your bootloader must be unlocked. You cannot flash anything with a locked bootloader. But if you wish to know, you can use TWRP or CWM for peregrine phones.

Posibility of BL unlocking on Android 5.1

pls tell me how to install custom rom on gionee g5 without rooting phone? pls help

I want to install android marshmallow on my gionee g5. Kindly tell me how to install it without rooting my phone. Pls tell me in detail im beginner.. Thqnk you
If the ROM you want to install support PC flash, you can flash it from PC. The only thing you could need root for is to unlock the bootloader, cuz it's the easiest way to unlock it. So, yes. But if you're afraid of rooting cuz of brick risk, or void warranty, you can use KingRoot(root almost all phones, even if it says it can't root your phone, but you see a root button, it can. Example: LG L90): http://kingroot.net/wap
