Got my K1 tablet two days. Updated to January MM OTA update. Played Asphalt 8 a couple of times (graphics are fantastic) but the game crashed the whole MM system yesterday, causing me to invoke a force reboot.
The first crash occurred when trying to connect to my Google Play Games. It was loading/connecting and froze. I waited a minute but no joy. Forced reboot and game was smooth again.
Five hours later, while playing Asphalt 8: Iceland Classic. Nothing fancy going on and CRASH! Same thing: force reboot then smoothes as usual.
Tried to find crash logs but no luck.
Help appreciated.
Any more information than that? Are you trying to play said game on really slow sdcard from a few years ago? How did you treat the adoptable storage? Do you have anything else in the background that might interfere, i.e facebook crap? Have you tried factory reset after said update from 5.1.1->6.0.1? The list is endless!
It's rather hard for people to read your mind without more info than "my car sometimes stops working, tell me what is wrong with it?!"

Guys,
I have a very weird problem that started a couple of days back with my Galaxy Tab.
I was running a game (game name does not matter as the problem happens in all games) when all of a sudden the 'Pause' screen came into effect.
After hitting any key to continue it played for around a further 20 seconds then it happened again... and again... and so on.
Some games simply pause whilst others will flip back to the reload the game screen then flip to the press continue to play screen.
Whatever it is it only effects games.
I have tried several reboots and looked at all my recently installed/updated Applications but can not ascertain what is causing the issue.
Further, whilst browsing through my installed Apps using the App 'System Panel' (to see if I could locate the offending App) I also noticed when I scrolled down through my installed Apps every few seconds the list would jump back to the beginning of the list.
No matter how many times I scrolled down after a few seconds it repeatedly jumped back to the beginning.
After about a minute or so it stopped doing this.
It's almost as if something is paging the system every so many seconds ~ which may also explain why when playing games it drops the game into Pause mode.
Anyway, the Galaxy Tab is a stock Tab unaltered. It is not rooted nor had a ROM change.
At this stage I do not wish to update the ROM nor perform a factory reset.
As a surgeon you investigate the cause of the problem and not simply give the patient a tablet to mask the pain and send them on their way..... I wish to do the same with the Tab, find out what is causing the problem and not just do a system reset.
Any ideas ladies & gentlemen?
Same problem
I have the same problem on my stock ROM tab.
It's nerve wrecking to reinstall everything again.

As the OP that reported this I feel for you.
I have no idea what caused the problem nor do Samsung.
All I can say is I switched the phone off one night because it was playing up that bad and used my Galaxy S that evening.
The following morning I switched the phone back on again and mysteriously the problem simply vanished.
All I can think is whatever was causing the problem must have been memory resident.
Killing the phone for a long period must have cleared the issue.
I have not come back and reported it is fixed yet as I want to do further tests just to make sure it has gone but more importantly try to find out what caused it in the first place.
In a way although I do feel for you I also am pleased someone else has the problem.
This proves it is not a totally isolated case and may crop up again.
The tests I am currently trying are with the external SD card.
Do you have an external SD card and did/does the problem happen only with games installed to the card?
I have found that all but one of the games were installed in this way.
The one game not installed to SD that when run pauses behaves in a slightly different manner in that it does not pause every 20 seconds or so but every 1 minute or so.
I am beginning to think the problem may be something to do with timing, memory and the external SD card.
Hi all,
Really need some help to find the root cause of games suddenly closing while playing smoothly, especially Dead trigger. I am on stock 2.3.4 and rooted with hard gaming enabled in Ram Manager. The game would play smooth for some time and then would just close suddenly without even any message like stopped unexpectedly. Because of this, I keep loosing progress of long missions or Arena. This is my second Xperia Play, and I am really frustrated, since Dead Trigger is one game which never gave such problems before, hence I am doubtful if it is just shortage of RAM. I have installed catlog but don't know how to interprete the logged messages. I can see hundreds of messages saying:
channel '2b5f7c88 com.madfingergames.deadtrigger/com.unity3d.player.UnityPlayerNativeActivity (client)' ~ Failed to receive dispatch signal. status=-11
I have attached the log file for the same. Has anyone else experienced the same? Is there a way I can identify if some app is causing memory leak?

do the dpads.. and touchpads work for you guys on XPeria PLay.. they do work for me on Fifa 10.. but not in this game.. do I have to switch Touchpad behavior from Touchpad activator..
I am on MIUI v4 ICS.
Forenote, my N5 was running PSX v2 and Franco Kernel r13 flawlessly for weeks when this ramdomly happened.
Used my phone today just as I have for weeks on end with little to no issue until around 8 or 9 hours into my day the phone started to lag very badly. Redraws, stutter, unresponsiveness, you name it. I was surprised as this phone usually flies! So I cleared my recent apps and that seemed to help slightly, but it still was very slow. I used cache cleaner's built in ram cleaner to stop all running processes (which I never do) and it seemed like the issue was fixed. The system UI and launcher redrew and I was good to go.
Until I started to play some music in Play Music, a pop up constantly popped up that YouTube has stopped working. I didn't even use YouTube today! I tried to then open the YouTube app and it wouldn't open whatsoever. No animation no execution, just a dialog box reading, "Unfortunately, YouTube has stopped working." I went into app settings and cleared cache/data/and force stopped and the app still was misbehaving. I reinstalled the app via the play store and it still wouldn't open. The dialog box wouldn't stop popping up this whole time mind you.
I was thinking what the hell is wrong with my phone today!? Maybe a reboot would fix things. I tried rebooting and my phone got stuck at boot animation. I force shut off and rebooted into recovery, formatted cache and dalvik cache and rebooted. This time the boot animation actually froze.. I was like what the f***! I let it sit for a few minutes to see if anything would happen without any luck.
I force shut off again and now the phone won't even turn on. Not into bootloader, not normally, the thing won't even charge! So here I am with a dead phone and a $450 paperweight. I'm just so lost I have no idea what could've caused this really unusual sequence of events.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
A bad phone. Rma it
Was the phone hot when the weird things happened?

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary temperature wise.. Although my phone has overheated and shut off before that was maybe 2-3 weeks ago..
Sent from my Galaxy Note 8.0
So if anyone here has Brave Frontier I'm sure you know the problem. What happens often is when getting out of the game to switch apps even for a brief text reply and coming back the game resets as if I just opened it. This happens with games as well as some other apps where it acts as though I just opened it fresh even though 5 seconds before I was in the middle of something. Is this a phone issue or a compatability issue?
Starting sometime about 1.5-2 weeks ago, two games on my phone don't run. I wasn't really paying attention but I think there was a small software update shortly before this problem came up but I can't be positive. The games are Void Tyrant (which crashes immediately on launch) and Dungeon Tales (which opens to main menu and the menus work but crashes once I enter game play).
Thoughts or suggestions? I have restarted the phone a couple of times. I'm not out of memory.
TIA.

And two days after posting this, both games suddenly worked again! Then yesterday's Samsung update broke them both once more...
