So if anyone here has Brave Frontier I'm sure you know the problem. What happens often is when getting out of the game to switch apps even for a brief text reply and coming back the game resets as if I just opened it. This happens with games as well as some other apps where it acts as though I just opened it fresh even though 5 seconds before I was in the middle of something. Is this a phone issue or a compatability issue?

Guys,
I have a very weird problem that started a couple of days back with my Galaxy Tab.
I was running a game (game name does not matter as the problem happens in all games) when all of a sudden the 'Pause' screen came into effect.
After hitting any key to continue it played for around a further 20 seconds then it happened again... and again... and so on.
Some games simply pause whilst others will flip back to the reload the game screen then flip to the press continue to play screen.
Whatever it is it only effects games.
I have tried several reboots and looked at all my recently installed/updated Applications but can not ascertain what is causing the issue.
Further, whilst browsing through my installed Apps using the App 'System Panel' (to see if I could locate the offending App) I also noticed when I scrolled down through my installed Apps every few seconds the list would jump back to the beginning of the list.
No matter how many times I scrolled down after a few seconds it repeatedly jumped back to the beginning.
After about a minute or so it stopped doing this.
It's almost as if something is paging the system every so many seconds ~ which may also explain why when playing games it drops the game into Pause mode.
Anyway, the Galaxy Tab is a stock Tab unaltered. It is not rooted nor had a ROM change.
At this stage I do not wish to update the ROM nor perform a factory reset.
As a surgeon you investigate the cause of the problem and not simply give the patient a tablet to mask the pain and send them on their way..... I wish to do the same with the Tab, find out what is causing the problem and not just do a system reset.
Any ideas ladies & gentlemen?
Same problem
I have the same problem on my stock ROM tab.
It's nerve wrecking to reinstall everything again.

As the OP that reported this I feel for you.
I have no idea what caused the problem nor do Samsung.
All I can say is I switched the phone off one night because it was playing up that bad and used my Galaxy S that evening.
The following morning I switched the phone back on again and mysteriously the problem simply vanished.
All I can think is whatever was causing the problem must have been memory resident.
Killing the phone for a long period must have cleared the issue.
I have not come back and reported it is fixed yet as I want to do further tests just to make sure it has gone but more importantly try to find out what caused it in the first place.
In a way although I do feel for you I also am pleased someone else has the problem.
This proves it is not a totally isolated case and may crop up again.
The tests I am currently trying are with the external SD card.
Do you have an external SD card and did/does the problem happen only with games installed to the card?
I have found that all but one of the games were installed in this way.
The one game not installed to SD that when run pauses behaves in a slightly different manner in that it does not pause every 20 seconds or so but every 1 minute or so.
I am beginning to think the problem may be something to do with timing, memory and the external SD card.
I have had a problem recently where several games seems to freeze up my device and causes it to restart. Usually happens on exiting a game or if the screen happens to turn off. Has happened with me so far to Nova 2, star dunk, and a few other apps I can't think of at the moment. Anything similar happening to anyone else?
I'm running the stock rom (after flashing from Gummycharged about a week ago). Any insight?
If you could please. lil more information. Whats is currently changed on your phone. (sdcard, settings, kernel, etc)
check your memory and let us know what memory phone and sdcard you have.
Got my K1 tablet two days. Updated to January MM OTA update. Played Asphalt 8 a couple of times (graphics are fantastic) but the game crashed the whole MM system yesterday, causing me to invoke a force reboot.
The first crash occurred when trying to connect to my Google Play Games. It was loading/connecting and froze. I waited a minute but no joy. Forced reboot and game was smooth again.
Five hours later, while playing Asphalt 8: Iceland Classic. Nothing fancy going on and CRASH! Same thing: force reboot then smoothes as usual.
Tried to find crash logs but no luck.
Help appreciated.
Any more information than that? Are you trying to play said game on really slow sdcard from a few years ago? How did you treat the adoptable storage? Do you have anything else in the background that might interfere, i.e facebook crap? Have you tried factory reset after said update from 5.1.1->6.0.1? The list is endless!
It's rather hard for people to read your mind without more info than "my car sometimes stops working, tell me what is wrong with it?!"

The game is on internal storage. No background apps.
I had the same thing on mine, froze half way through playing the bloody game
Hi guys. Everything is great with my v20. The problem is that there are certain apps or games which I use, although fully updated which stop responding after a few hours. There is this one game which I usually leave open to farm on its own on auto. Eventually it stops responding to touches on the screen even if the sprites on the app itself keep moving. It comes up with a notification prompt to close the app, wait for the game to respond, or send feedback I have to reboot the phone to get it to work. Anyone else experiencing this kind of behavior and how did you remedy it. I already tried turning off power saving mode and the game optimizer to no avail.

Nothing can be done, you just have to wait for the app to update, although two apps I use xe.com and tsum tsum is having problem it's still usable.
It's a android 7 thing, so it's a waiting game.:fingers-crossed:
Most likely the Android 7 being the culprit, just watch for updates it would seem that there are some changes under the hood that are causing compatibility problems.

Yep. Probably nougat issue or memory leak problem. I'm leaning towards nougat. Luckily I've rarely had the problem.
Thanks guys. I kinda figured out it was a nougat problem since it's not consistent with all apps and just 2 apps in specific.

Hey guys! For the past few weeks, there's a random clip of a song that will play on my phone, almost as if I have a notification. But, there won't be anything in the notification bar. Sometimes, I don't even have any apps open when this happens. The "song" sounds like something from an Indiana Jones movie. It's maybe about 10 seconds long, give or take. I've tried uninstalling apps that I've downloaded right before this started happening, but it still happens. I've also tried installing an anti-virus (AVG, Malwarebytes), as well as a notification logger (nothing out of the ordinary) and an app that forces a refresh similar to a restart (Fast Reboot). It's driving me up a wall, but resetting my phone to factory conditions is a lot of work, so I thought I would turn to you guys to see if anybody else has a similar thing happening to them. For what it's worth, I'm running the latest Android OS on the Pixel 2 XL. Thanks guys!
