Screen to sensitive? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Hello friends. Idk if this question has been answered before. And if it has I'm sorry for the double post and mods go ahead and delete this.
My question and problem I have with my gs7 is that when ever I get a phone call and I have my phone in my pocket, when I answer on my gear s2 non 3g the screen stays on in my pocket. And when I walk I hang up most of the time.
Also I've noticed when I'm using an app that allows for split screen. My finger is not even near the bottom left soft button and when I tap on the screen it automatically goes into split screen?
Does this happen on your guys gs7? Thanks!

I'm currently waiting for my case to come in. Hopefully it helps out. Currently have a thin tpu case that has very little screen protection.

Issue with replacement LCD and Screen

I ordered a replacement LCD assembly with frame off eBay http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=190964828803&alt=web
I installed it last night. The screen looks great and mostly works error free... Except where the bottom where the nav bars sit. When I press any of those buttons other press points show up on the screen. (Ie. Press back button and the Hangouts icon lights up also as if they were both pressed at the same time) and opens Hangouts. Press the home button and it presses whatever is in the center of the screen.
Anyone had this happen with a new screen? Is it a bad screen or a bad install?
I emailed he seller and they seemed quite surprised that it isn't 100% functional. They asked me to do a hard reboot and check for broken connectors. Might just pull it back off and get a replacement or a refund.

That's the thought I had. Guess I'll have to pull it and ship it back.

Shipping it back. Anyone have a more reliable source for a lcd and frame. I bought the phone second hand so getting it done through Google is out of the question lol.

Did you try LG directly? I've heard of it not being too expensive and you will have peace of mind that it gets done right.

I found a reputable company locally that can fix it.
Took it in, was told to come back in an hour.
An hour went by and he tells me that the phone is missing the frame (bracket) that holds the ear piece speaker in place..........
The frame I had shipped back had the ear piece fit fine, the original broken glass that I told him I wanted back the ear piece fit fine...
I don't know if I'm missing a piece but he showed me the new frame and there seems to be something missing from his that was on the others.
This N5 is becoming a nightmare.
The part circled in red is supposedly the "bracket" he needs to re-install the ear piece. Yet every frame I see online has one included.
I told him to save my broken glass and I'll deal with it later. (either just use a small adhesive or pull it off the original glass and frame)
Any ideas? This is getting dumb.
Annnnnd to top it all off, he just called, the screen that they had didn't work, has to order another one. It'll be in Monday, with my work schedule I can't pick it up now until Saturday.

[Q] I can unlock my Nexus 5 through my jeans

So I got my Nexus 5 about 2-3 months ago. I must say it's the best phone I ever had, and i had them all from HTC to Samsung to Xiaomi etc. Nothing compares to Nexus.
Anyway, I found the first thing I don't like about it.
A few weeks ago kept noticing my phone pocket dials, so I enabled pattern lock. No more issues.
After that, yesterday, I was very curious if I am the only one with this issue. So my friend has a G2, which is pretty similar from what I understands.
If I wake the screen, put my phone in my pcket and try to unlock it over the clothes, I can do it super easy.
However, the G2 does not reach to this and my friend doesn't need a pattern unlock.
Is there a way this can be fixed so i don't have to use pattern? I don't like it. Thank you!
This never happend to me. In fact, I don't think it's possible due the fact the touchscreen only registers 'heat' touches(like your fingers).
Try to put a bit of your jeans over your fingers and try to see if the touchscreen responds.
Or you can set-up a harder pin/pattern lock.

Maybe not a proper solution but I have a Nillkin case on mine. Its fairly thin so doesn't make the phone bulky but the buttons are now slightly recessed so I don't push them by mistake. I don't use a screen lock at all most of the time.
I have the same problem, and I also opened the topic here about it a while ago.
I also set up a pattern for unlocking, and it somewhat helps. However, sometimes I see that emergency call dialer is opened when I pick up a phone from my pocket, so the problem still persist. Weird though, I never had similar problems with other touch phones that I had.
Some roms like CM do have an option to prevent accidental wakeups. It uses the proximity sensor to check if the phone is placed in the pocket.
I had the same problem,
To prevent this, I made a tasker pofile I can send you.
It checks if the proximity sensor detects anything on unlock, then relocks the phone immediately and vibrates for a second to let know something happened.
Never had any unwanted unlocks since

The digitiser registers electrical disturbances in its field. This can be caused by any part of the human body no matter what temperature.
It can even be done through thin fabrics. Maybe OP has jeans with very thin inside pockets.
Anyway, there is no way you could easily restrict the distance the field can "project" from the digitiser.

Allright, so i just used my covers, which aren't very thin, and i managed to unlock my phone using screen pattern lol. I just had to press just a little harder and it registered the touch. Weird. I don't mind using the pattern unlock but still ..
I will try that, i was thinking about a case which makes it a lil harder to wake the screen. Thx !
Maybe there's a hole in your pocket and your penis is doing some slide to wake action! ?

Sure, here it is, works perfectly for me
Never even once have I accidentally pressed the power button while my phone was in my pocket. Stop wearing tight pants, problem solved.

I don't wear tight pants, I notice this mostly while cycling body temperature and humidity probably play a role
I had this issue with my S3. I think pin or pattern lock are the only way, but it hits your emergency dialer, too. Hopefully, that tasker profile going to the prox sensor too will work. I don't think there is a way around this as the screens are sensitive. I usually have mine in my jacket pocket, but when I use my pants I can come across things like this. Not really sure we can know why, can't be in the pocket at the same time.
Could be a dodgy power button, I'm going a through a similar process where minimal pressure on the button makes it turn the screen off, hard resets or the power menu appears. I don't want to RMA because I'll only get a refurb which could have more serious issues.

Refurbs undergo the same quality control as their new devices.

Yeah so you should be good. Also they send you the device first so you get to look at it before sending yours back.

S6 gold users

If you look at your phone you'll notice there's a lighter color "gold" trim that goes around your screen, home button, and sensors. I'm wondering if yours is even? For instance the right side of my screen has more trim than the left and it looks odd when you see it in the right light. Same with the right side of my home button.
Sent from my SM-G920V using XDA Free mobile app
Here's a couple pics. First pic you can see on the right side just past black screen the trim is about the same as the bottom trim and it runs past the screen protector. The left side of the screen there's barely any and really none of the trim goes past the screen protector.

Screen extra sensitive

Any fix for this? This so far has been my main annoyance with this phone. Happens on both my parents Galaxy S5 running Lollipop as well.
Examples: Scrolling through settings is bouncy same for webpages which is just awful.
Then the worst is the Notification panel, Its so bad that I'll scroll down and the panel goes right back up.
Any suggestions for this?

I havent placed one on yet, I have a Ghostek Tempered Glass I planned putting on once I figure out what firmware I want to run on it.

Bezel clicks when I tap on it - normal or broken?

Just picked up an open box Classic tonight from Best Buy. Seemed perfect, but just noticed the bezel clicks when I tap on it. If I tap anywhere around the whole bezel there is a click of it tapping against the watch body.
S2 bezel never made a sound.
Is this normal on an S3 classic? Seems odd.

Nvm...found the thread here on this issue.
Still not sure if this is an issue that should suggest I return/exchange the watch.

it's pretty much a defect if your watch doesn't click like that.
they increased the tolerances on the ring a bit after receiving complaints about the S2 that the ring would get stuck or was hard to rotate.
as a result the ring can wobble and "click" a bit.
An euphemitic beautiful coloring...
I would send it with that mistake, like many other have pratice successfully because of this issue, also in a german forum
