[Completed] I need help with restoring an ASUS Memopad HD 7 - XDA Assist

Hi all,
I bought a secondhand Asus Memopad HD 7 (ME173X), which turned out to be rooted, customized and unstable, so I am trying to restore it to what it was when it was sold.
I'm used to tinkering with computers but flashing tablets is not something I'm familiar with.
I tried to follow the instructions in post #5 of this thread, but I got the "brom error : s_security_sf_code_download_forbidden (6010) , msp erroe code : 0x00." error.
Searching the thread I found my question repeated in post #605, and answered in #615.
I am following this solution but I'm stuck at step 4: After connecting the tablet, Windows (7, 32-bits) (re?-)recognized the tablet during the download. At first, it was on COM4, now I have a duplicate entry on COM6: http://prntscr.com/andrqc (in Dutch). The progress bar in the flash tool was 100% but the timer kept going, but nothing happened further. So I had no alternative than to hit the [stop] button.
If I try to download it again, it simply doesn't seem to recognize the tablet when I connect it. I tried if I could boot it, but the tablet does nothing when I hit the power button.
help would be much appreciated
(Sorry for crossposting but on second thought, I think this subforum is perhaps more appropriate.)

[Q] galaxy tab-at&t [sgh-i987]Q

Hi, I'm new to the forum and they did not allow me to post in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133590
so, I'm wondering if someone here can help me.
I went to the website http://www.samfirmware.com/
and I can not find the software for sgh-i987, it's like it does not exist.
And another funny thing, when I turn the device on and it goes to the black screen odin sees it's connected, however, when i go to the download mode it does not.
If it does not sound like soft brick here's what i have done so far. I was following this guide: http://oldwiki.cyanogenmod.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_(GSM):_Full_Update_Guide
After step 7 in Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery section the tablet just restarts to black screen with a bar on the side.
Thanks in advance!

[Completed] [Q] My HTC8S

Hello everyone. first of all I must say that I am Italian, so I apologize if my English is not perfect. Now let me share with you my problem: I have among others a Htc8s for some time after the last updates the baby did not work very well so I decided to try a process to rewrite the Roma since I could not restore it with the hard reset , so I ran into the same process of user Deextaar "The phone is dead
Hello, on the phone I have got an error message where was written insert the install media and something about recovery. So I download the files and I flash it. But unfortunately when i Should push the volume buttons, camera and flash and power button was started I let go of the button and the flash did not finished and now the display is out, the phone will not turn on, flash mode do not working, and after connecting to the PC is displayed That is not working properly. Do you know what I should do? "
It seems incredible but like an idiot I made the same mistakes, and now I find myself with my HTC8S that no charge is not recognized by pc that flashes for a few seconds and sometimes vibrates. Know that you are two weeks I read the post and try different solutions but nothing I can not get it started. I hope you can help me get my jewel. Excuse me while I was down in my first post. [Completed] bricked phone after sp_flash_tool

Hey there,
i followed these instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263455&page=6) to root my phone - but that's not so important.
Unfortunately after using SP Flash Tool (successfully with green ring) my phone won't turn on again. It is still possible to flash the phone, but as mentioned...no reboot.
Does anyone please have an idea how to fix this problem?
Cheers,
Hiasl

[Completed] RCA Tablet Hard-brick help

I recently bricked my RCA tablet while modifying the boot file in the device's system folder. It was stuck in a bootloop so I followed the directions in another forum to use SP Flash tool and flash it to reinstall the stock rom. While following those instructions to the T, it seems that my device will now no longer boot, won't charge, and is not recognized by my computer (all the symptoms of a hard-brick as I am told). I followed a brief fix explained by a self-help forum within hovatek to use the SP Flash tool to only flash the preloader file just to try and get the device to boot again, but not even that worked. I would like to know what else there is I can do to fix it or if there's no other option but to send it back to the factory. I am using a RCT6773W22 Tablet w/ V38-V1.8.0
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
Try following what you find in the thread linked below, maybe it will help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/stock-rom-twrp-root-oc-uv-rca-7-voyager-t3087075
If that doesn't help, try posting your issue in the forum linked below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
The experts there may be able to help. Good luck.
Thank you, the first link you gave me was actually the first thread that I followed to fix my tablet when it was still soft-bricked. Which then led to it becoming hard-bricked. I shall try and repost in the second link you gave me when I get the chance.

[Completed] Tablet stuck on EFI Shell. USB ports disabled.

Hello. I'll try to explain my problem because I really need some help.
A few days ago, I was normally using my Tablet ECS TR10RS1 IntelĀ®.... I turned it off, went to sleep and the next day when I was going to use it again, the OS didn't start, so I tried and tried until I found a forum where they led me to restore a backup file because the original firmware/rom wasn't still available.... publicly. I tried that, but in the process, I accessed the EFI Shell... That wasn't trouble at all, I just plugged the keyboard and typed "exit", and then it let me to the BIOS... And that's when my real problem began: I restored the factory setting default... and it involves "disabling USB ports".... Now, AGAIN, I'm stuck on EFI Shell. But this time, I can not type "exit" since the keyboard is not recognized by the Tablet.
Then I pressed Vol UP + Power ON and I get access to another menu "DNX".... And that's what brings me here to your forum:
I was briefly reading that one of your members managed to flash the BIOS via DNX, so I was wondering if you guys could help me do that to my tablet because I'm not planning to have a really expensive paper holder.
Thanks in advance.
Jinky.
