Headphone volume mod - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have a mod to increase headphone volume, both wired and bluetooth? I've tried to find the "mixer_paths" file and also the "audio/codec" file using Root Explorer, but to no avail. I can't be the only one who wants more volume from their music!!!

Hi, did you sort out this issue?. I also have the same problem
o has lower volume than music player
I wish also the volume was louder on both earphones and loudspeaker.
I use aftermarket Sony earphones and they have always made music sound better and louder on other devices but this device seems to just be too low. Its a shame I would love it to be increased its about the only negative I find with this device.

Hi Simona , yes as you say the problem is that the Radio volume sound much less than the music player.
Did you find any solution to this problem?.
Thanks,
Franklin

Guys you can try this...at your own risk of course Back up first the audio file. : ------>

Using the headset or the earpiece? I'm talking of using the headset. The output of the 3.5mm jack is far too low.
I found a solution, btw. I deleted the /system/etc/audio/codec folder and tadaaa - output appears at least twice as loud, both during calls and when listening to music. Previously, I had to set my car's stereo to volume setting 25 (I usually use 15 when listening to the radio) to be able to hear something on the autobahn, now I only need to set it to 12-15.
So there definitely was an issue with output on the headphone jack, and for my device it is now solved.

Still happy with that solution, encountering no issues at all and DTS audio also still works a charm, makes the headphone output much richer, especially in the lower frequencies.

So you deleted only the 'codec" folder not the all thing? This is important.
The problem is that I can't find this folder under system folder.
This is what i have : \system\media\Pre-loaded\Pictures. Only this
I don't havethat /audio/codec folder.
Ups. Double post

Indeed. The folder is in the system partition, which can only be accessed with root.

Equalizers Is There One That Does What I Want?

I have an LG Access LGL31L and in Europe I think its called an LG F90, it is on Android 4.4.2
My main issue is when on speaker phone I have to turn the volume up but the speaker buzzes (plastic vibrations) and the only way to cure it is to drop the low frequencies, but this phone (like many others) has no audio effects.
Is there an equalizer that is of very good quality with more than 5 bands that is really a system wide EQ?
I know there are some music players with good EQ's but I am not familiar with any system wide EQ's that are any good.
Looking for an EQ similar to what jetAudio Music Player, Poweramp or Onkyo HF Player have.
It must work during speaker phone usage.
Thanks
using an cyanogen 11 equaliser named DSL is great.
you must use it

Hoping Moto x pure volume rockers work

As the title says I really hope the volume rockers works on this phone because they didn't work on the 2014 moto x which was a big disappointment for those that use non Bluetooth headsets.
Do you mean volume rockers from the inline controls on wired headphones?

Wired headphones.
Sent from my XT1096 using Tapatalk
Wouldn't that depend on the headphones and not the phone?
I have a Galaxy S 5 right now, and my samsung headphone rocker works just fine. But when I used my skullcandy headphones the rockers didn't work.
It is the headphones. I have some headphones that work and others dont with my phone.

Headphone wirings arent all the same. There are still standards to it. Just like if you plugged in an Apple Earpods it does not work for example on Sony handsets but works on Samsung and Motorola. So basically its all because your headphone wirings does not match the one designed for Moto. So make sure to test and double check before purchasing

No bluetooth audio after pie update

Hi, I just updated to pie unfortunately ive got a bit of an issue...
Indeed, I cannot get bluetooth audio in any form (Ive tried my bt recepter using aptx as well as an old bt speaker using sbc)
Connexion is ok and I can adjust volume using the built in buttons on the side of the phone but got no sound comming out ...
Ive wiped cache after the update and Im rooted with magisk (using V4A but i also tried with it disabled as well)
Also wiped memory of the bluetooth system app.
Thanks
Can you try disabling bluetooth scanning?
Go To Setting, search for Bluetooth Scanning and turn it off.
Try connecting to your devices after that. Also worth checking if you can see your connected device, try clicking on the device name and see if options like 'Media Audio' and 'Phine Calls' are s witched on.
Try these report back.
ok,
- Bluetooth scanning was already off, tried to turn it on then off again
- Media audio, phone calls were on, tried to play with the switch as well
- Media volume in sound settings is maxed out
- Do not disturb mode is off
- I get connecting/disconnecting sounds when I connect to the bt speaker but no media audio
