I have always used ES File Explorer on my Android devices, and have never had a problem, until a few weeks ago. Now, if I try to access my PC from one of my Androids I get "Error, cannot find the server". I have rescanned from esfileexplorer, and re-edited the server info. I have checked and rechecked the static ip address, the username and password, I have entered the address as 192.168... and as smb://192.168..., it always come up as "Error, cannot find the server". At first you would think that it is something on the PC end, that something has changed, but no that is not correct. If I use "X-plore" or "Explorer" using the same IP, username and password they connect just fine, it is only ES File Explorer that does not work! I have also uninstalled and reinstalled ES, with no change in results. This occurs on all four of my android devices.
I don't think that I have overlooked anything...
Any suggestions?
Fixed: (For Now) I unshared the drive on my PC, logged out, logged back in and re shared the drive, and it is working again...
I am having the same exact problem. I tried restarting the server, changing the account password, uninstalling ES. I found that it will connect as anonymous but you cannot explore anything except public folders.....frustrating. It only started about 2 weeks ago for me.
I am using the Galaxy S6 edge on Tmobile and Windows 10. Like I said, everything worked fine until a few weeks ago. I leave the server on at all times as I use it to stream to my tv. The ONLY thing that has changed is that we did have a power outage a few weeks ago.
I have been through all of the security settings, Firewall settings, and even added a user account to see if that might be a workaround - all to no avail. Unlike others that I have seen in my googling, I cannot connect with any file explorer.

I absolutely love that Dutty's Task Manager works on the Leo, and it has brightened my day.
However, since installing my Twitter client won't connect. I've heard others have this problem too.
I'm on a dutch (0413) HD2, running the stock ROM (1.43.404.1 [70124] NLD), Manila v2.5.19202525.0
I've checked with only GPRS and with HSDPA active, and in both circumstances the Twiitter-app not only can't register, it doesn't even make the phone connect to data (the taskbar does not show a connection being made) so it's not my internetconnection that's at fault, the Twitter app doesn't even try to connect to the 'net anymore.
Anyone with a good idea what might be the cause of this?
I had a similar problem yesterday and I never even installed the Task manager. I had simply logged out of my Twitter account (don't remember why I did that) and couldn't log in again. It said my password or account name were wrong (they weren't).
Try logging into a different Twitter account (create a new one if you need to) and then into your own again, that worked for me.

See, mine just tells me the network is unavailable... without ever trying to connect.
If I turn off the dataconnection before trying a Twitter update, it never reconnects when it says it's updating... and then tells me the network is unavailable.
In other words, the Twitter app doesn't know how to find the internet connection anymore.

did you ever find a solution to this?
i have the same problem but with google map
i cant login
it say login in ....... and nothing happen
i try different version but no lack
I also have the same problem, but mine started to happen after I installed Comm Manager Pro. Can someone confirm that logging into a different account helps? In my case, it doesnt say the login or password is incorrect and it doesn't argue about the internet connection. It just doesn't update and doesnt show any tweets on the list
To me two accounts helped. (Comm manager and task manager installed).
However I still see as a bug that Peep, Location/Weather does not update correctly. Hope new rom 2.x will fix it.

Please help! A while ago, i was synchronizing my gmail when wp7 asked me to ipdate and reinput my password. But each time i type in the right password, it says that the password is incorrect! Tried deleteting the account on my phone and putting it back again, still the same. On the browser and also on the desktop, i can log on normally using the same password. Please help
That sounds really strange. I've never had any issues with my gmail accounts.
It sounds like a typo, but since you've tried it several times that may not be the case.
Are you sure you didn't mistype the email address instead of the password?
I know that with the software keyboard, I sometimes hit the key next to the one I want to hit. But I'm sure you already tried typing the password slowly and looking at each letter as you type it.
Yes i'm 100% sure i got them all correct. Tried changing and rechanging the password but still nothing. Also, i tried on my wife's iphone, and it worked perfectly. On the wp7, nothing
Is your Server listed as m.google.com?
Also, did you make sure to check "Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection?
Yes and yes, m.google.com and SSL is checked. Even tried turning my phone off but still nothing
Are you actually using a @gmail.com account, or a corporate account through Google?
i'm using a .gmail.com account. it was working before, but now, nada.
Sounds like a bug.
I heard of someone who experienced something similar. They were able to solve it by connecting to a WiFi network and then setting up their gmail account.
I'm not sure why that solved it for them, but maybe it could help you too.
And it just did. I was connected to 3G when it happened. Connected to my home wifi and it finally accepted my password. Again, i connected to 3G just to confirm it and well ut works now. Thanks for all the help guys. Will drop the wp7 guys an email about this
I just ran into the same issue.
I had changed my gmail password via web interface. then the phone asked for the new password but wouldn't accept it.
I ended up deleting the account on the phone, changing the password at gmail (again) to something different, then readded the account to the phone. In that time period though, I logged onto wifi in order to sync faster.
Would have been nice to have seen this thread earlier...
Gmail on Android persistence challenge credentials bug fix
I found this to be a bug with Gmail account log in failures on Andriod when using 2-step verification. It persistently challenges you for credentials although you have successfully logged into your Google account on another machine via a web browser.
This is the fix I found:
Step 1:
Log into your gmail account on another machine using a web browser.
Go to account settings > 2-step verification > authorising sites > application specific password
Step 2:
generate a password called gmail -android but do not click done.
Step 3:
go to device enter your gmail - andriod application specific password and you will get challenged a further 2-3 times enter the same password (you may have to also enter the CAPTCHA (a security image with distorted letters)).
Step 4:
When you are no longer challenged, try to sync with gmail if you do not get a sign-in error on your device then this has worked and be sure to click done in your your google account settings via your browser on the other machine you used.
Hope this helps to those of you who are suffering from this infuriating Google 2-step verification bug.

I had countless issues with my Gmail account on WM6.x - same as you describe. Would not accept my credentials.
The steps described above solved it for me (having to reset using that captcha thing) but it would keep on re-occuring. Not seen it so far in WP7 though. *touch wood*
Hi everyone,
A couple days ago I lost connectivity to facebook via the app and the via browser. The app reports this error I attempt to log in.
"Sorry logon failed... ( connect to /69.63.181.46:443 timed out [org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutException])"
I also cannot connect to facebook via the browser, BUT! I can ping www.facebook.com from a terminal and even resolve the name using nslookup (again from the terminal).
The logcat does not display much except for one instance of that app error dialogue from an apache process and some attempts to connect to the android crash reporting url at facebook.com
The only thing that coincided with this loss in connectivity was my prepaid credit running out. Not sure how that would contribute to the problem, but it is the only meaningful thing that occurred around the time i lost the connectivity.
I am running CM7.1 on a HTC Desire. I have tried unin/re-installing the app, but this feels like some issue to do with Android.
Inexplicably, this problem just 'went away' late yesterday. I have no idea why (nothing changed, I had given up on it pending any return here), but meh....it works now.
refresh the device
I've seen a few threads here related to wifi, but they don't address the issue I'm having (if I've overlooked an obvious answer, I apologize and would appreciate being pointed in the right direction).
About a month ago I noticed that I could no longer access any web resources over wifi. I can see all available networks, I can connect successfully (and get an IP address), but that's it. This is not limited to a single access point; this is ANY access point.
The worst part is, once in a while, it'll work for a few minutes, then stop (work = access internet via play store, chrome, facebook ... whatever).
I tried using Wifi Fixer as it felt like something configuration-related, but it still doesn't work.
I ended up rooting my phone, wiping it and installing Cyanogenmod. Still no wifi. I wiped that, factory reset and reinstalled stock ... same issue.
I checked that I had a /persist folder, and the file linked in another post already existed (so I didn't overwrite it).
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Hopefully I'm posting this in an ok section. I'm not sure what the issue is, and I'm trying to figure out if this is a software, hardware, provider, or website issue. I am beginning to suspect a software issue though.
I have a stock HTC M8, and as of about 2 weeks ago, I'm having issues logging in to one particular website: http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ , but ONLY when connected through my wireless provider. The main page loads just fine, but as soon as I hit the sign in button to try to get to the signin page, it hangs for a while, then I get the message "internal error - server connection terminated" .
Here's the thing though: If I try to sign in to the page while connected to a Wifi network, it works just fine, and will continue to work properly even if I turn wifi off, until such time as the page automatically ends my session and I have to log in again. It's just that initial log in that won't work if connected to a wireless network. Also, I can't log out either unless on a wifi connection.
Here's what I tried already:
- Tried to log in using my wife's S4 (also stock rom). No good.
- Tried Chrome and Firefox browsers. Same problem.
- Contacted the website support. They say my wireless connection is too slow. Speedtest says 80Mbps down, 30Mbps up, 31ms ping. Ummm... I'm going to say this isn't the issue.
- Contacted my wireless provider (Telus). They say they haven't made any changes the last couple of weeks.
The only changes I've made recently is that I updated Android System Webview. I can't even get a handle on what the heck this app is for (Typical review: "It changed my life! My acne disappeared, and I won the lottery!")
Any ideas? I'm at a loss here....
In chrome you should check on the requeat desktop page and give it a try
Sent from my SM-G355H using XDA Free mobile app
Sadly, I've tried that as well. No go on any browser.
That's why I figured maybe it was something HTC screwed up with a recent update.
Can you access that login with any other method on your htc
Nope. WiFi only. Every other attempt to reach the login page fails. Browser doesn't matter, desktop view is no good, manual or auto login is also useless.
It simply won't load the login page.
I noticed on my desktop that it goes from whatever page you click the login button from, to a log in page, and then back to your original page once you enter your information. It's that transition to and from that login page that seems to be where the issue lies.
I must be in the website you do not need to worry as your droid is safe
Sorry, but you lost me there...
It could be thatbi lost but i dont know coz at somd times i have same problem anf it goea away by itself so i think its a site problem
I thought that originally as well, but they claim they haven't changed anything and blame my ISP, my ISP claims they haven't changed anything and blames the site...
This is why I'm wondering if it maybe has something to do with android web view or the native browser interfering with the whole system since it started about the same time as I downloaded the updates.
You wouldn't by chance know where I could find an apk for the HTC browser 2 versions ago would you? That way I could remove all updates then install that and at least verify or eliminate a possible cause.
Yes i can tell you where is the befault internet brousef app present on your device.
Download ans install es file manager.
Open it. At the top you will see sd card tap that. A mwnu will open. In that menu the first option is / device select that.
In that search for system folder. Inside that you will find many folders but inside folder app and priv_app there are syatem apk
Your brouser app will be inaide one of them.
Try searching goos lucl
