Hi everyone,
A couple days ago I lost connectivity to facebook via the app and the via browser. The app reports this error I attempt to log in.
"Sorry logon failed... ( connect to /69.63.181.46:443 timed out [org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutException])"
I also cannot connect to facebook via the browser, BUT! I can ping www.facebook.com from a terminal and even resolve the name using nslookup (again from the terminal).
The logcat does not display much except for one instance of that app error dialogue from an apache process and some attempts to connect to the android crash reporting url at facebook.com
The only thing that coincided with this loss in connectivity was my prepaid credit running out. Not sure how that would contribute to the problem, but it is the only meaningful thing that occurred around the time i lost the connectivity.
I am running CM7.1 on a HTC Desire. I have tried unin/re-installing the app, but this feels like some issue to do with Android.
Inexplicably, this problem just 'went away' late yesterday. I have no idea why (nothing changed, I had given up on it pending any return here), but meh....it works now.

I bought Touchtwit a while back, and it worked great for me for a little while. Then Twitter upgraded their authentication to OAuth, and it stopped working, like most other Twitter apps. Now the developers have supposedly fixed it, and many other people online say that theirs works great now, with the new version, but I still can't get mine to work. I just did a fresh install on my phone because it kept crashing, and just installed the new TouchTwit. Now when I log in, it takes me to a page online that I have to allow the connection and then copy and paste the code. When I pastethe code in the box and press "Save", the following error message pops up:
#login #failed
The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.
What can I do to fix this?
By the time you read this you probably already solved it but if you install the 1.8 version it should work.
This post is regarding the Xfinity Mobile app: https://market.android.com/details?id=net.comcast.ottclient
My system log shows <userName>[email protected]</userName> and <password>MYPASSWORD</password> on a line that starts with "D/HTTPManager". I read the log using aLogcat (app available in the market). Open aLogcat, press menu and filter for "password". After I clear my log (using aLogcat) that line reappears even when I haven't used the Xfinity app. I don't use my comcast credentials in any other app.
To try and resolve this I cleared data and cache for the Xfinity app, then cleared the system log in aLogcat, and restarted the phone for good measure. I opened the Xfinity app, logged in without checking "remember me" and unfortunately my username and password immediately reappeared in the system log.
I posted this issue here: http://forums.comcast.net/t5/Mobile-Apps-and-Web/Password-revealed-in-android-system-log/td-p/872295. A Comcast employee responded to say they will investigate this issue and fix it within a few weeks. In the mean time, you may want to uninstall the Xfinity Mobile app and change your Comcast password, or at least do not share your system log with anyone (in bug reports for example) if you have Xfinity Mobile installed.
This may not be the only app that exposes sensitive information in the system log, but this is the only password I have found exposed.
I have a Motorola Droid running stock Android 2.2.
UPDATE - As squiddy20 pointed out, Comcast has updated their app to 2.0.2. They include instructions to clear the app data as part of the upgrade, but that may be unrelated to this issue. In any case, I cleared the app data and installed the update, and my credentials no longer show up in the log. As far as I can tell, they have completely resolved this issue. If the problem persists for anyone else, be sure to post that here and on the Comcast forum.
Wow Comcast.
Thanks for the heads up
I checked this out for myself and the only way I could get it to show up was by logging out and then back in. I then did a reboot, let it sit for well over 5 minutes after it was fully booted, and then tried it and still no entry under "password". I dont get any of the sporadic, random popups you seem to have gotten. Oddly though, I have it set to not login automatically, yet after the reboot, it took me right to my email messages without me actually typing in my login info. That in itself is room for concern, let alone the possibility that login info is contained in the logcat in plain text.
Samsung Moment 2.1 running TiX 1.6 rom.
Interesting I to have the same issue squiddy20. Very concerning not a good thing Comcast
I was not able to see my password
I use an EVO with 2.3 and checked the same on my logs after logging in .. and only saw my username the password was nowhere to be found. I guess it would only happen when you first try to login.

Click to collapse
Now that I have unchecked "remember me" my credentials only show up in my log when I log out and back in. Not sporadic any more.
Check your Xfinity Mobile -> Settings -> Log Out setting. If it is set to "Never", then you wouldn't have to log in again after a reboot. If it is set to "On Exit" then you should have to log in again after exiting the app or after a reboot... but that may be buggy.
Thanks for the tip, but I honestly don't access my email through the app very much. To me, less things logged into and running in the background, means more memory for other things and slightly more battery life.
Also slightly less security problems!
Well, they've updated the app and I assume they've fixed the logcat problem (haven't checked for myself yet). They do have a note: "This Update will require you to log in to the application" plus the usual updates, improvements, and fixes.
Edit: just ran 2 checks with aLogcat and can confirm that the username and password info does not show up when searching for keyword "password". On a slight side note, I've noticed that hitting the home button on my Samsung Moment exits the app, but doesn't sign out. While hitting the back button from the main screen exits the app AND signs out. Settings also seem to be staying the same, even after reboots. Mine would reset occasionally, turning notifications on and other things.
I have had some concerns as well. I have lost most of my channels in the TV listings area. It goes from 2-29 and then 75-99 but that is it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times, cleared data in applications, etc. As I reinstall the app, it is going right into my system without asking for a password which I find a bit alarming.
I assume that the program has reverted to a selection that is not the full digital programming which shows up when you first do an initial install. I cannot find a way to get back to that area to reset my configuration and add all my channels back. I have emailed Comcast and those idiots responded that they do not have an app that works with Android yet, only iPads and iPhones. Quite comical.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried all of the methods mentioned above and when I log in using username and password, and filter alogcat only my username appears in the log. Also tried brief and long settings in alogcat preferences.
Edit: This is using the 2.0.2 version.
Hi Squiddy ,
Pressing the backbutton will exit the app and pressing the home screen actually puts the app in the background so that at later point of time we can launch the app from the page where we left .
I dont think this is an Issue.
Hi Dawgman25,
There is a settings for the program area where you can change the zipcode of yours and select the proper digital option.
After logging in tap on the settings on the lower right corner.
There will be an option program area under TV Listings.
There you can enter your zipcode and give the correct Headend (Digital) option
I think the forums.comcast.net will respond quicker and properly .
you can also directly send mail to [email protected] to get lightning response !!
I tried this and he responded immediately
I swear this issue has to be server-side because I can't find any reason for the phone to behave this way.
XT1034
Android 4.4.2
System version 174.44.1
Stock + Rooted + Bootloader Unlocked
This issue happened BEFORE root & bootloader unlock as well. It even happened on Android 4.3 when I first took the phone out of the box. Please refer to screenshots below to show that weird things are happening.
In the stock mail app, no matter how many times I plug in variations of my credentials and our server, I always receive Can't Connect To Server as my error message.
I actually have 2 choices of ways to format my username. I've tried them both.
(1) long-domain.com\username
(2) domain\username
As can be seen below, my Active Directory record shows that I have ActiveSync features enabled for my account. I shouldn't have a problem with this.
HOWEVER, the server itself is acknowledging a successful connection because my phone shows up in the device list under my account. It's just that the phone seems to not like whatever response it's seeing from the server.
I've tried 3rd party apps. Touchdown works. Nine does not. I'd rather not continue to use Touchdown because its interface is hideous and I don't want to spend $20 on it. I can't be the only person who has had Exchange/ActiveSync issues on my Moto G, right?
We are sorry about causing inconvenience in using Nine. We first would like to review your logs for us to verify the details.
Please send the logs to [email protected]
Thanks,

Hopefully I'm posting this in an ok section. I'm not sure what the issue is, and I'm trying to figure out if this is a software, hardware, provider, or website issue. I am beginning to suspect a software issue though.
I have a stock HTC M8, and as of about 2 weeks ago, I'm having issues logging in to one particular website: http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ , but ONLY when connected through my wireless provider. The main page loads just fine, but as soon as I hit the sign in button to try to get to the signin page, it hangs for a while, then I get the message "internal error - server connection terminated" .
Here's the thing though: If I try to sign in to the page while connected to a Wifi network, it works just fine, and will continue to work properly even if I turn wifi off, until such time as the page automatically ends my session and I have to log in again. It's just that initial log in that won't work if connected to a wireless network. Also, I can't log out either unless on a wifi connection.
Here's what I tried already:
- Tried to log in using my wife's S4 (also stock rom). No good.
- Tried Chrome and Firefox browsers. Same problem.
- Contacted the website support. They say my wireless connection is too slow. Speedtest says 80Mbps down, 30Mbps up, 31ms ping. Ummm... I'm going to say this isn't the issue.
- Contacted my wireless provider (Telus). They say they haven't made any changes the last couple of weeks.
The only changes I've made recently is that I updated Android System Webview. I can't even get a handle on what the heck this app is for (Typical review: "It changed my life! My acne disappeared, and I won the lottery!")
Any ideas? I'm at a loss here....
In chrome you should check on the requeat desktop page and give it a try
Sent from my SM-G355H using XDA Free mobile app
Sadly, I've tried that as well. No go on any browser.
That's why I figured maybe it was something HTC screwed up with a recent update.
Can you access that login with any other method on your htc
Nope. WiFi only. Every other attempt to reach the login page fails. Browser doesn't matter, desktop view is no good, manual or auto login is also useless.
It simply won't load the login page.
I noticed on my desktop that it goes from whatever page you click the login button from, to a log in page, and then back to your original page once you enter your information. It's that transition to and from that login page that seems to be where the issue lies.
I must be in the website you do not need to worry as your droid is safe
Sorry, but you lost me there...
It could be thatbi lost but i dont know coz at somd times i have same problem anf it goea away by itself so i think its a site problem
I thought that originally as well, but they claim they haven't changed anything and blame my ISP, my ISP claims they haven't changed anything and blames the site...
This is why I'm wondering if it maybe has something to do with android web view or the native browser interfering with the whole system since it started about the same time as I downloaded the updates.
You wouldn't by chance know where I could find an apk for the HTC browser 2 versions ago would you? That way I could remove all updates then install that and at least verify or eliminate a possible cause.
Yes i can tell you where is the befault internet brousef app present on your device.
Download ans install es file manager.
Open it. At the top you will see sd card tap that. A mwnu will open. In that menu the first option is / device select that.
In that search for system folder. Inside that you will find many folders but inside folder app and priv_app there are syatem apk
Your brouser app will be inaide one of them.
Try searching goos lucl
So, I'm running an old Nexus 6P
Android 8.1.0
Stock Rom, Rooted (Magisk)
A few months ago, I noticed some apps were no longer logged in. I tried logging in and authentication failed (mostly silently)
Twitter: account login gives message "cannot create account"
Pocketcasts: login appears to work, but actually fails silently
Dropbox: "Unknown error, please contact Dropbox customer support."
Apps that continue to work: Facebook, LINE, Instagram, Mega,
By trying Tweetings, I am able to get a semi-useful error message from Twitter: "401: Authentication credentials (https://dev.twitter.com/auth/docs) were missing or incorrect. Ensure that you have set valid consumer key/secret, access token/secret, and the system clock is in sync."
My guess is that there's something wrong with how my phone deals with Oauth, since it's broken on multiple apps.
Things I've tried:
uninstalling and reinstalling the apps
upgrading to the final version of the stock ROM for the Nexus 6p (I was a year behind)
checking my clock settings to make sure time zone is correct and that network time is on
Things I'd rather avoid:
factory reset (it takes me a long-ass time to get my phone set up the way I want it after that, and it will be especially bad if it then doesn't work)
Any ideas? My even older Nexus 6 (also rooted) has no problems like this at all, so it does seem to be some kind of issue on the phone.
Thanks in advance for anyone able and willing to help me troubleshoot this, it's been driving me nuts for ages.
