Anyone else Notice this? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

So when using the front facing camera im noticing two things:
1. The picture doesnt seem to be focused on my face (beauty face off)
2. The top 2/3 of the phone is getting pretty damn hot to the touch
3. Battery is being drained when the top two occur^ (probably the heat)
Is this normal? I wanna return before my 14 day period if not.
Also, is anyone else getting constant crashes from snapchat and excessive heat?

#1 Battery

1) Speaker phone doesn't work sometimes. You press the button to enable it and there's a minor lag, when it does enable and you try to speak the other person can't hear you and their voice continues to come out the ear speaker not the large speakers. Its almost like it mutes you. Again, this happen ONLY when you press the button and there's a lag that this bug happens. Its not constant either, sometimes the speaker phone works fine.
2) Random reboots of the phone.
3) Try turning the phone off and sometimes it sticks n the T-mobile Goodbye screen.
4) Phone LCD screen bleeds on edges.

Great Idea! The only one I have:
1) LCD ''bleeding'' on top left and right corners of the screen. Really Annoying!
2) Now just a couple of days ago my phone started rebooting itself randomly! I had no issues for the first 4 days after buying the phone. What is going on here?
1) battery drain
2) reception
3) cell standby
4) lcd screen bleed
sent from my G2X with no regrets
1) Battery! (seems like a quite popular problem regardless of what android device were talking about.)
2) Very minor bleeding, mostly on the bottom right corner, not near enough to make me cry about it.
3) Is that really considered 4G? ._.
4) No custom rom. :|
Sent from my rooted G2X
1) Data disconnects are infuriating never had so many "Message was not sent" notifications on a device
2) LCD bleeding
3) No HDMI cable
4) Back cover - Not really an issue but a gripe I feel like everytime I take it off its gonna break, so cheap
1) headphone reboots, and or doesnt recognize the headphones
2) Random reboots of the phone.
3) Black Screen Lock
4) Phone LCD screen bleeds on top two edges
5) Battery life is pretty bad, unless I use juicedefender
6) data 4G/wifi change issue
7) reboots at least once a day
8) navigation loss, or phone freeze (requires a battery pull)
1) Cell Standby - battery hogging.
2) No Gingerbread (yet)
removed missread
1) I have checked 10 devices so far and all of them had backlight bleed, some worst than others. Several of them had brown stains in the screen when on a white background and 1 was entirely tinted yellow.
2) First one rebooted itself 3 times an hour seemingly at random.
3) 2nd unit couldn't lock GPS and when it did it was miles off.
4) earpiece sounds digitized and staticy compared to my nexus one when on phone calls.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
1) phone freezes during charging (must do a battery pull to reset)
2) random reboots
3)LCD backlight bleed in top corners
4)battery life issues
1) Occasional Reboot (Only happened Twice)
That's it surprisingly my battery lasts 20 to 25 hours and no led bleeding.
1. Random reboots. (I just got my 3rd reboot a minute ago)
1) Wired headset icon appears in the status bar when a headset is not connected. This is completely random too. Happened on a call once and no sound came out of earpiece.
2) Data connection\ cell reception blows. I never thought i would say this but my Vibrant would blow the G2X out of the water in cell reception.
3) LCD bleeding. Not a huge gripe but we shouldn't have to deal with this on a $550 device.
4) Battery life. While mine is not as bad as others, I really thought the dual cores in this phone would increase battery life over a single core device.
1. lcd bleed
2. few random reboots will using apps
3. speakers sound saturated
haven't had enough time to play around with a lot of other things....
1. Cell reception (my first sidekick had better reception)
2. Battery drainage
3. Extremely quiet speaker (how come I'm hearing from others that sound is great?)
4. LCD corner bleeding
I'm lucky I haven't had a single random reboot. Other than the above this phone is top notch, has so much potential. Which is why I'm sticking with it, hoping things will get fixed in the near future.
1) Wifi/data just dies, only way to fix is to reboot. Very annoying.

1. Wifi/Network handoff
I noticed that after a restart and even though the phone is displaying wifi, it will still try to use the network for data and after about 5 minutes, it works as normal. I suspect the Tmobile myaccount app doing it, but not sure. I think it also affects every app on the phone that uses data. If I open any app during the initial 5 minutes such as XDA or market, it won't load. After the 5 minutes, those apps that I opened in the 5 minute window will act like wifi never activated, I would have to clear cache and force close to get it to work again. Something is wonky with the wifi/network hand off. LG/T-mobile doesn't seem like they tested this phone very thoroughly.
I hope CM7 will fix the programming screw ups of LG.

Screen causing dizziness, eye-strain, etc.?

I've never experienced a SAMOLED display and I love it but since day 1 of having the GS5 if I look at the screen even just for a few minutes my eyes hurt and I am always feeling dizzy with a pressure feeling behind my eyes and occasional headaches. I'm constantly adjusting the brightness to try and help but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. If the display is below 40(ish)% brightness I can see flickering and it seems to strain my eyes worse. Walking around I feel very lightheaded pretty much all day off and on. It's pretty severe and I don't know if I should return the phone or not. Its truly affecting my life and I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing any similar symptoms or if it's just in my head, but I haven't been able to function normally since getting this phone (as crazy as it sounds). I only have a day or 2 left to return the phone and I need to make up my mind before it's too late. If it's not the phone causing the problems then it's odd that this has all started right around when I got the phone. I have been using 'Cinema' mode to try and help as well. Thanks for any info/advice.

Go to a store and look at a demo one and see if you see the same.
It's possible your phone is defective.

do you usually get headaches from watching 3d movies, etc?

"Chattering" and heat normal?

Hey people,
since two weeks now I'm an owner of an Honor 6 and so far I find it quite attractive! However, I've noticed two things that are kinda irritating for me. I'm not entirely sure what to do about it - whether I should get used to it or whether that might be a reason to send it in? Can you guys help me out?
1) The phone makes a "chattering" noise when I touch the backside with a little more energy. After googling and testing I found out it's the autofocus of the camera. However, not all people seem to have this, why is that? Doesn't the phone take damage over time if the camera lense is so loose?
2) The phone gets quite warm. I've noticed it in 3 situations already:
- when I have the phone in my pocket without any apps open (gets warm, not hot)
- when I use the GPS, not too long (gets very warm)
- when I have a longer WhatsApp call (gets very warm)
btw. the battery is just fine, so no unusually quick uncharging.
Unfortunately, I'm quite an insecure person, so I'd be really happy to get some advice from you guys: what to do? Send it in or is that still in the range of "normal"?
Cheers, Leo

Camera issue (overheating) Pixel 2

I noticed huge overheating while using camera. Seems like not doing too much photo, but phone become terribly hot!
After making around 30 photo in HDR+ portrate mode, camera started lagging and phone overheated too much. Camera didn't stopped. I am not sure it is OK. I know if record 4k video for some 15 min it definitely cause overheat. But here... With 30 photos...
Does somebody else have same issue?
Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I have had camera problems too. Yesterday I took many HDR+ photos and it got to the point it was un-usable. When the phone cooled, all good again. Next time I may try to turn off HDR+. But I really like HDR+.
OP, you find out more on this? I switched from a note 8 to the Pixel 2 XL and it's been nothing but headaches with the camera. The burst mode is slow, the phone overheats and starts to become unresponsive, and the video starts lagging. The phone gets so hot, the whole phone about freezes. You could literally burn yourself to the back of the phone. It happens esp using video recording with or without a case.
I'm about ready to switch back to the note 8.
Still have the issue(
I heard that the problem may be because of photo are uploading at the same time to Google photos and that is why causing overheat. But turning WiFi and mobile data off didn't give any positive result for me(
And seems like camera itself causing overheating not the wifi module.

I've tried in safe mode. Again with WiFi and mobile data off. Still the same. Terrible overheat(

I had this problem too, but after reset it solved, seems my phone doesn't heat up from the camera

Overheating while using camera!

When I take some pictures or have a video call, the phone warms up so fast. Is it a normal thing for pixel 3?
Yes, the theory is the all glass back is more insulating than the old metal backs of the P1 and P2 series, meaning that you will feel more heat on the device as it is slower to release it to the air than metal. This is normal and nothing for you to worry about. The phone will shut off automatically to protect itself if it overheats.
Same experience here. Phone also slows down to a crawl and apps start stuttering.. is this phone thermally compromised somehow? It reminds me of the 810 and Nexus 5X days.. at double the price

This sounds more like a combination of the heat and the memory management issues that users are facing. If I have music playing and open the camera, Spotify closes. If I take a photo and then try to go do something else while it's processing the photo(s) it stutters for a few seconds.
Android Auto crashes itself without doing anything, but that's been happening for a few months and did so on my Pixel 2 XL, too.

Android Auto seems to be a resource hog in general. My Pixel 2 would close AA if my screen turned off for more than 1 min.
My pixel 3 routinely displays the overheat message and slows down to a crawl after ten to fifteen minutes of a video call. The first time it even made a weird hissing sound. Have a replacement arriving for a different issue and hoping for better thermals.

did your replacement fix this issue?

It definitely runs cooler than the first one. The overheating was specifically in 3rd party apps such as LINE and Skype. The latest system update seems to have addressed this. The phone now runs much cooler during video calls in those apps. I'm still happy I got rid of the first one as it generally ran very hot compared to this replacement!
