Had the phone on day 1, hour 1 the 20th and have had not 1 odd issue. Everyone here seems to hate their device, I'm coming from a vibrant which was cool too but this is way better....
How come y'all having so many issues and I haven't had 1... Anyone else have no issues like me?

I got the phone yesterday too and so far I don't have an issue. Came from Vibrant as well. I do see a little bleeding on top of the screen, but this is not an issue for me.

My first phone had a lot of bleeding, switched it out for another and it barely has any. That's the only problem I've really run into.
My first unit had the restart problem but I replaced it at the tmo store and this new one is working fine and is almost up to the two day uptime since its initial boot.

I got my phone last night and only issue I have is the screen bleed but it don't bug me either. So far really nice phone.

I also got my phone on the 20th and everything have been running perfect. This phone is just amazing. The only thing I miss about my droid Incredible was the MIUI ROM.
I've had one reboot, but 2-1/2 days since then without any problems. I was a bit concerned about battery life for the first couple of days, but I've been off-charger for about 7 hours now with light usage and the battery is still at 83%, which is fine. Otherwise, no problems other than minor software issues (kinetic scrolling parameters, Qik has a version incompatibility with iPhone, I can't add applications to Car Home).
This tends to happen a lot. The people who are happy are content and don't usually post about it. Conversely, those who have issues, or think they have issues, end up posting about them, so you basically just end up with a bunch of negative discussions.
This is my 4th Android phone (G1, Nexus One, Epic 4G, and now the G2X), and by far the best one I've ever owned, ever.
I've had mine since the 20th and so far have had no problems at all. I activated it in the store and had a slight concern when it seemed to freeze up for a few minutes after it asked about synching my apps. However, I waited a few minutes and apparently it was indexing everything, because once it came back to normal I checked my apps and everything was there. Both the T-Mo rep and I were surprised to see all the apps back as well as my contacts, emails, and texts. Gotta love that Google cloud!
My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is that I can't tell which end is up when I pick it up. I came from a Nexus One and that trackball was a huge clue for where the top of the phone was. This phone is so dark with its new black gel case that I usually pick it up upside down and struggle to find the power button. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Glad to see all my apps working with no hiccups, and I was fortunate not to get one with any screen bleed or unexpected restarts. Hope this keeps up.
i thought i had the wifi/4g problem but it was a mistake on my part. had the phone little over 24 hours and not a problem thus far
Most Happy people wont go to xda to create a thread and tell people how perfect and great their phone is.
Xda is clearly not the place for that. Im one of them. I have no issues with my phone, it has been great, fast and reliable.
Im just lurking around the G2X forums waiting for development updates.

Only a small amount of screen bleed here, and for some reason I can't get it to connect to hspa only umts. Other than that great. Sucks though my vibe got hspa.

my data connection sometimes locks up and seems slower than my vibrants connections. but i'm sure newer basebands/radios will come out and hopefully fix all that. a tiny bit of bleeding on top corner but nothing noticeable...i'm loving it....wish it had 768 ram but it has enough, haven't ran into many problem in that area, i have almost 300 apps and a multitask alot so i'm hopping this one doesn't kill my adw ex in the backround..i have it on persistent but it can still kill it if it wants....fingers crossed that's never an issue. so far love the phone....now waiting on the cable for the HDMI to come in the mail, and screen protectors.
One day 1, I had a couple random reboots. Days 2 and 3 have so far been completely error free. I have very little LCD bleed, only a tiny bit in the top corners that I can barely notice. Standby battery life has improved immensely as well. Down to 3-4% battery per hour which is very good on a stock ROM/kernel.
I'm totally satisfied.
I really like the phone and am keeping it but there's no question it has issues. Everyone uses their phone differently which is why we are having different experiences. I rely on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth heavily and LG's implementation of both is quirky causing erratic behavior. T-Mobile really screwed up the data management settings with their My Account app allowing the phone to use native data when set to Wi-Fi only. You're experiencing that whether you realize it or not.
I was in a T-Mobile store and they allowed me to play around with the configuration of their demo unit. I could replicate almost all the strangeness I experienced on my phone. Someone who uses the phone differently may never see the issues I'm having. Either software updates from LG or a replacement ROM will cure most of the problems that have been posted so in the end the phone will still be a good choice.

Mine is fantastic, I dont seem to have any screen bleed or reboots but ive noticed it seems like it lags sometime coming from the lock-screen but doesn't affect anything. All we need now are some custom roms.....
I see people on the forums posting all these issues . I never had any . I use my g2x everyday for school . The battery life is pretty good too i was able to get 70% still even through usage in school. I 1st had a nexus one it was a great phone but it had little memory for apps even when i had a sd card . I personally think the g2x is a great phone. It has plenty of memory space the screen isn't that bad compared to some devices. Although it didn't come with a sd card or earphones which is pretty bootleg to me but i have the phone and its great. So whats up with all these problems?
Mines perfect too but it is the 4th one. It's a shame it takes 3 returns to get a perfect phone.

Well, obviously some people have genuine issues, but more than anything it's new phone syndrome. Everyone is looking over their phones, testing them, playing with them. Realistically, if you stare at anything long enough, you can find a flaw, and when someone points a minor, barely noticeable flaw they discovered on their phone out to someone else, they either see the same flaw and freak out about it too, or imagine it.

While I do agree with what you stated I know in my case it is not just cosmetics it is a phone that is not functional and erratic. I am to receive a third one hopefully by Thursday. So far the first was unacceptable and the second was absolutely unusable. It is a shame as I really do like a lot of things about this phone.
Well i guess it is pretty normal, but i really just don't understand why you would point out a problem of your new phone that you paid your hard earned money for.

So, if you bought a new car and it had issues you would just keep quiet?
I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but what you just said makes no sense.
People are pointing out there issues to see if others are having the same problem and possibly find a solution to the problem.
It also helps people who have not yet bought the phone to see what kind of issues it is having to determine if they still want to get it or wait until they are resolved.
8 Hours in after a 100% with at least 3 or so plus hours now with Blue tooth on and sitting at 35% now listening to music still and going to try and kill it before I'm off at 9. Let alone im twittering and using the 4g net to look at some things from twitter.
I'm not saying to keep quiet or anything but i see a ton of problems and yet i have no issues what so ever.
I just exchanged for the 2nd time today, and I am now on my 3rd g2x. The first one had light bleeding, and rebooted over 10 time the first day.
2nd one had the light bleed on a black screen, and a brown stain across the bottom of the screen when on a white background, and 3 dead pixels. The brown stain was very noticable, and anyone I showed the phone said something before I pointed it out. Worst, the gps couldn't lock my location to save its life. One day I kept trying for 40 minutes and the g2x never locked the location, even after factory resets and several reboots. I had to get on WIFI to make it work. Today it would find a location, but it was almost a mile away from me. It continued doing this throughout the day as I went to other locations. So I returned it.
Just opened up my 3rd one. I'm told they just got a new shipment today, and it's out of that shipment. My hopes are high! I turn on the phone, I tell myself this is the one. This one is going to have a display that doesn't bleed. Wouldn't you know i'm greeted to backlight bleed. But this one is worst than the pictures on the forums, and by far worst than the first 2 phones.
I'm beside myself. The phone runs so smooth, and I really want a dual core stock android phone. But between the reboots, the bleeding screen, the dead pixels, the gps that doesn't work, I think it's time to throw in the hat.
I'm trying one more time, but this time i'm going to pay the restock fee, and go to a different store. If this one is bunk, that's it, i'm done. I'm waiting for the next "super phone". I read a lot about the nexus one having major issues when I got it (ordered the day it came out), but I never had any. Maybe this is just a luck of the draw thing, and i'm exceptionally unlucky this time. But it seems a lot of other people on these forums are having the same issues.

I'm having a problem with the external sd card on my phone. Its locked up, not locked, like password, but locked as in it says its a read only filesystem, and no matter what I do I can't edit the files or the permissions. can some one please give me some ideas on what I can do?
Im ecstatic that I finally made the switch to Tmo last week, just for this phone. Ive been with ATT, and their Android lineup, which imo, Captivate is the only one worth hanging on to.
Ive been watching Tmo for the last 3 years get the G1, N1, Nexus S, and now the G2x. Had enuff, and left ATT last week. Got out of one ETF, but still ended up with $345 ETFs on other 2 lines. And I dont regret it one bit so far. Even went on a Craigslist selling spree of all my ATT Androids except my Cappy (loved that phone).

I agree that some people are just nit picking their phone, but that's ok - they spent a lot of hard-earned cash on this phone and they should get one that acceptable to them.
My first 3 had major issues:
1st one had the brown "stain" across the bottom of the screen and along the entire right side.
2nd one had reception, wifi and data connectivity issues.
3rd one started FC ing every time I touched the Android to set up the phone and if I skipped initial setup so I could connect to wifi. If I did get it set up, then it was just wonky - random reboots, lockups that required a battery pull, a couple of factory resets because I got stuck in the "checking system" bootloop. !Oy vey!
My 4th g2x is acceptable. Minor lcd bleeding, but I only notice it on the splash screen and the boot and power off animations. Can't see it when playing games or watching a movie in a dark room, so I'm ok with it.
As someone said earlier, its a shame it takes so many "attempts" to get an acceptable phone. But, to T-Mo's credit, at least they are doing what they can to make it right. They've been good to me about the exchanges and never really hassled me about any of them.
Mine is fine.
LCD backlight breeding is minimal and it's not enough to bother me, but ogg vorbis tag problem is more important.
Minimal backlight bleeding. Everything else is great.
Mines fine. One reset once... hasn't happened again and its been quite a while... love this phone

After all ur exchanges, did u get a feeling that this might be an hardware issue? (I know lcd bleeding is but.. all the other issues). Then i think it is ideal to wait out for an update from t mo or google or some custom dev for fixing all these issues right? I know when u have an option to switch , we go for it but just chkng if it is becaus of hardware that we are bound to do that...

I personally think that the screen is great, my girlfriend has the Samsung Droid Charge and although its a bit sharper I think the display on the G2x is nicer than that AMOLED on the Samsung Droid Charge.
I can't remember if this happened with the build I was using before (month 2) -- I think perhaps one or two times, but I'm not 100% sure. However, more recently it has been happening quite a lot. Sometimes the phone will just simply not turn the screen on. There's not even any backlighting (or in this case in other words the black level is below the minimum that it seems to be when the screen is on since it's LED.) Most of the time I don't think it's responding at all, but this latest time I did get haptic feedback from what should be the lock screen, so I'm not entirely sure if I was maybe just missing the lock before. I think the issue has been happening more frequently now than before though (well, it has only been since the 14th or so I guess, but I'm pretty sure the issue wasn't happening much at first) I'm wondering if it's more likely something I've changed. Also, this last time I did notice later that day that the battery was shockingly low for such a short trip out. I think it was in the 70-80 range -- normally it's around 92+ after that length of time.
To be honest, I do keep a lot of things from running in the background and freeze a lot of apps. I try not to get anything essential, but sometimes it's hard to tell what truly is. I've mostly frozen obviously useless things like the live wallpaper stuff though. The only thing even remotely related that I could think of is the face unlock which I froze since it was running even though I don't use it (I have the plain slide to unlock set and do not want face unlock.) I can't think of anything else I might have messed with that even remotely could have to do with this though... My Nexus 7 also running CM 10 stable doesn't seem to have this issue.
I notice that it takes 3 to 4 secs for the lock screen or home screen to rotate. Is it normal? How long does it take for yours? If it is in an app, rotation is pretty much "normal", similar to my Nexus 7 2013 or my Nexus 5. I have the latest OTA update and then hard reset the tablet already.
Also, I can hear whining noise from the tablet when the screen is flickering...similar to like non-SSD hard drive seeking for data. Do I have a lemon? When I plugged it into the charger last night, the whining noise was very obvious!

Is usually noticeable when under load from what I've read, something taxing memory perhaps.
Some live with it, others have returned theirs for that. Judgment call I'd say. Go read Nvidia forums and see if you are Ok or not.
Keep in mind, there's a lot of negative Nancy's there, so go there with an open mind, also not trying take anything away from XDA. Just there is relevant info there too.

Yea the coil whine is ridiculous on some models. OP, you can always request an advanced RMA from NVIDIA if it's too annoying for you. I've done 2 RMA's so far and NVIDIA has been great both times.
You didn't go through the store you purchased from to get the replacement? Did nvidia ship the new unit out right away?
Since updating to 5.01 I notice the screen rotation for some reason is a little slower...not sure why exactly and is not a big deal but certainly for me was something with going from 5.0 to 5.01.
Otherwise my Sheild has been amazing, zero complaints
Just checked mine and I don't have this issue--well, not the way you describe it at least. It takes about a second to rotate but it's definitely not 3 to 4.
My tablet is still pretty light, though, since I really use it only for games. It doesn't have even close to as many apps as I do on my phone.
Sorry to clarify mine does not take 3-4 seconds to rotate, but there is a noticeable delay. Not an issue really at all but noticeable.
I've noticed a lot of people complaining about screen lag recently, where everythings just dull and slow (not so much touch issues)- and unfortunately im one off them people!
My phone is the newer branch (november) and im starting to have a slow screen ever since oxygen! i've gone stock 11s n its seem to followed me!
but i really think its heat related, it will be fine for the most part, once it starts getting warm (recently its been getting hotter then normal) the screen goes dull.

my screen doesnt press random things, the phone is just dull to type on and stuff but only when its hot/warm, and when i say hot, i mean hot..
but im not doing anything different to what i used to and it used to be okay, but then again........weathers getting hotter....

tried stock 11s too but only lasted a few hours

Ps. NEVER had issues BEFORE oxygen. oxygen was NOT on my phone for longer than a day due to the horrible keyboard issues, but the phone was really hot during oxygen......... thanks anyway, :good:
I have the same problem. It seems to happen when my phone has been warm-hot for 15-20 minutes. No ghost touches, but scrolling is really laggy, and sometimes it doesn't register a tap on a link or app. It seems to go away if I let my phone cool down. I've looked everywhere online, and I've seen a few people mention similar problems, but most of the time it's about the ghost touch thing. I really hope it's not a hardware issue. I can't go without a phone for a month and a half for the RMA. People seem to have a lot of issues with RMAs. I'm surprised there aren't more people having this issue.
Also, I'm not on oxygen. I'm having the issue on Euphoria 5.0.2.
I started having the exact same issue two weeks ago, and I did not even try oxygen os. I also bought the phone in november. I tried opening the phone and cleaning the connector but it didn't help at all... now I'm having the issue all the time, not only when the phone is hot and it feels like I have a $30 phone
I really don't know what to do since I opened the phone,so no RMA possible. I bought a Moto E and I'm gonna have to use it until I fix the issue. I dont even know if it's software or hardware, that's a really strange issue.
Edit : the touch screen just worked fine for 2 minutes, then became laggy again
