Hello,
Is there a way to have the option call recorder directly from the phone app?
So when I call or receive the call I have the option to start recording?
Thank you in advance for your help.
I use a program called "Automatic Call Recorder" by "Appliqato"
Doesn't need root and have used it since the S4 days.

If you don't mind answering, does it record via bluetooth, and does it use line in and out for regular (non bluetooth) to record or speaker?

There is a call recorder from BoldBeast that I have been watching closely.
http://www.boldbeast.com/
http://www.boldbeast.com/forum/topic1182-galaxy-s7-call-recorder.html
I am not endorsing the app and I am not associated with this app or the developer in any way and I have not tried it yet.
However, the developer claims that it can record individual calls, but I am not aware of how it integrates into the phone or dialer. I have been looking for a good, reliable, call recorder myself that offers full and clear recording options, the ability to record to SD card, and a good UI and phone integration. I used Call Recorder from Skvalex for years (rooted S4), but I'm not sure if it will work completely with an unrooted S7 or not. That's why I'm looking around. I want to make sure whatever I install works as advertised. I don't mind paying for a Pro version if it just works.
Another app Developer claims this works: Amazing Audio MP3 Recorder
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stereomatch.mp3.audio.recorder
Again, I have not tried it and can not endorse it.
If you try any of these, please report back with a full review and let everyone know what works well and what maybe doesn't.
Good luck.

It records both sides of the audio call with out any issues (I have my audio source set to "mic") and also records correctly when I use my bluetooth headset, but you have to untick the Bluetooth option in settings (reverse logic)
It will automatically record incoming and outgoing calls, which is useful
I only use the free version, although really should buy the pro version to support the developer

Thanks for the info. I guess I just need to give it a try.
Hello,
Thank you wootty2000 the app work fine.
I went ahead and installed BoldBeast call recorder and so far, it's working flawless. It's works with Bluetooth connections also.
So, we know there are at least 2 call recorders that seem to work fine.

What settings are you using. I have tried a couple different settings and every time I press record I completely lose audio in the call and have to hang up.

I have it set to automatically record all calls and have not had any issues with it doing so... incoming and outgoing. The actual "settings" can be found in the "forum" link I included in the first post I made in this thread.

I just changed my settings to what you posted in the forum link. Now i just need to wait for a call to test it out. Thanks.

It worked perfectly on bluetooth. Both sides loud and clear. Thank you very much. Now to buy the premium version.
I use to have a rooted device and the recorder is always included as bake in. I miss those days.
I tried the ones mentioned earlier in this thread and they all worked... sort of. The audio they record is extremely low and lots of static/popping. I have to put the speaker up to my ear to hear the audio from the other person. My voice is much louder, but still not that great.

I have not experienced that with BoldBeast. Do you have the setting set correctly?
I have the same problem as 96cobra, I've used Automatic Call Recorder Pro flawlessly on my S5 for 2 years. I recently upgraded to the S7 and now it will only record my voice clearly, the other caller is completely distorted and crackly.
Also, it causes ALL audio on my phone to have a crackling sound. If I uninstall it, the audio distortion goes away.
Does anyone know of a systemwide equalizer or sound control app that I might be able to use to correct this issue?
change youre settings
Wow, what a helpful reply! Thanks

I've tried it with my SM-G930W8 without any issue. I put the audio source setting set to "mic" just like wootty (quoted below) and it's fine...

I've also tried the boldbeast one and its also pretty neat. I've used the configs written on the page scott posted (http://www.boldbeast.com/forum/topic1182-galaxy-s7-call-recorder.html) and it worked like a charm. But automatic recording is not free
Thanks mathiems, I just tried boldbeast and it appears to work so far.
It just sucks because I was invested in and liked Automatic Call Recorder Pro for the past two years.
Anyone tested "Call Recorder" by skvalex https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder ? Does it work without Root on S7 ? It works fine on my S4 with Root.

having a poor memory, I have become accustomed on my Treo to being able to record a caller if they are trying to give me info that I need later (with their knowledge). The AT&T tilt has blocked access to incoming voice for 3rd party recorders to use. Can anyone develop a fix?
there are some apps out there that do record incoming calls Vito audio notes is one of them also just google search and try out demo of different apps. many have said it can be done but i use vito audio notes all the time and it works great
I haven't kept up on the topic, but if I remember correctly there were a few threads about this (use the search) and I'm pretty sure the conclusion was that it was impossible to get access to the mic during a call.

One of you is not telling the truth.
Looking for hack
The AT&T tilt has blocked access to incoming voice for 3rd party recorders to use. I have tried all the recording software, none of them record the incoming voice. One of the s/w vendors even says that the hardware for incoming voice is not accessable for the TILT. I was hoping that someone might know how to hack the phone to make it work.
Any help would be great. And I have seen that alot of the users would be interested in this.
Have you tried Vito Audio notes?

Yes, and it doesn't record the other party either.
I don't mean to get into the middle of this... but they should all work if you enable the speaker phone... maybe not crystal clear, but it should record...

Yes, this is the only known solution. It is not very the clearest, but get's the job done. This is my LARGEST complaint with the TILT coming from the old Sony T616 a long time ago.
I can record while using the headset and speakerphone (tested with VITO audio notes) but not with just the phone (it records my voice but not the caller).
I guess this is a hardware issue and is probably hard to fix. I guess you have to make a virtual "audio cable" where you can set the phone to use the speaker then route the signal back (somehow)???

so you made sure to wipe your caches after installing it and it still gives a blank screen?
It's working perfect for me. You have to install UC Kernel in order it to work.

Not sure about the i9003, but I can confirm via my HTC EVO 3D, that this ap works great. Easy to use and records calls rather well. You do need to use the speaker phone as much as possible while recording just like any other call recorder, but it does work well.
It does not record calls on i9003..IDK why!
No app does it infact.
You need to reverse engineer and tweak the .so files in /system/lib to get that working.

I also tried total recall but no luck.. It only record my side and with so much noise....
What Samsung has changed in this set even apks used to work in galaxy S are not working here...
Me failed too
What is the solution ?
Try
"Record mic and call"
Also, suresh's call recorder mod is needed for it to work, without speakers on.
Also, "Phone Recorder" by "Blue Tornado" works.
Hi,
i need a call recorder for kpq as well.
I have updated from Froyo to KPQ just to have my phone function crashed by this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380788
Now, everything is fine, but I am looking for other good call recorders for gingerbread (these ones that record the same what I hear [clear voice of person I am calling to]).
Using stock with the SGS4G I can record directly from the line and get 2-way call recording which is legal in my state. Nice to be able to go over my business calls when I am driving and don't have a pc or pen handy. I installed a ics rom and now I lost call recording with any program in the market or a custom one I have. I heard it is a rom/kernel issue. Does anyone know of a working rom with call recording enabled? Thanks
I remember MIUI having that function... that seemed to be the only one though.
Or using Google Voice to do it... but that's a feature of GV, and works regardless of ROM/phone type.

I am not interested in using google voice. Wonder why none of the roms enable it. I don't need a record button on the call screen just it enable to be able to use a 3rd party app.
I guess I will just try all the roms and see if any work. I been told it depends on the kernel if they enabled it or not.
I assume you mean a line recorder rather than a microphone recorder.
It needs a kernel feature we do not have and never had. It will not work on any of our ROMs cross versions. For microphone recording apps refer to the Google Play.

Before i had a droid 3, it wasnt possible to record incoming and outgoing calls. I am owning a Photon Q 4g LTE now, and i was wondering if it works with this device or not?
I have Google Voice, which allows me to record incoming calls.
If you want to record any calls, I'd guess you'd need some sort of an app. There are a few... have you tried any of them?
This one I saw on the front page of xda-devs not too long ago.
There's a bunch on the Play Store as well.
There is also a module for Xposed Framework that allows you to record calls.

Indeed, there are a lot of recorders like that, mut some phones like the droid 3 dont support it. The S3 does support.
I have a Photon Q 4G now, and i was wondering if this phone supports it or not.. If you guyz have this phone, i would appreciate if you could install that app called "" in call recorder "" than go to settings of that app -call recorder settings-Audio Source, and select PHONE LINE.
now make phone call, if it works than i know enough..

Well I have this application, and when I have audio source set to PhoneLine only first couple of seconds is recorded correctly, then recorded voice becomes all squeaky and hardly understandable, but no impact on call quiality. When set to Microphone the other party does not hear me at all. I got a response from the author about my issue, he suggested to use Microphone and higher Gain Level, but I haven't tried it yet. When I do I'll post my results.
Unfortunately no help...
Might be a little non-trivial to set up however using Google-Voice adds the functionality to record calls to this phone..
It is a little tricky to get it working correctly with Sprint in general but well worth it! You can record, then access everything online including texting and calling (using your phones number and plan) from the web..
I know some people may not like using google for things like that but it just works so good...

I have recently bought the OnePlus One from Amazon India. I want to have call recording on my phone. I tried many call recording software and most are able to record the calls absolutely fine both ways but with one major issue. In most of the recorded calls the voice of the other person get distorted if they speak a little louder or if they have a bassy voice, whereas my voice is recorded absolutely fine in very high quality. Is it a hardware or a software issue??? Also I don't hear the distortion during the call at all, its only in recording?

The reason is the the majority of the call recorders records the calls from MIC, so you need to switch to Loud speaker to record other party voice.
If you are rooted then try the Total Recall PRO app which records the calls directly from the line.
Try this, works perfect on my OPO

Eventhough the source is set to Voice they all record from MIC only unless you have a Purchased version of the App. In Total Recall you will get the 30 day trail which will give you the difference between other call recording apps and it. Are you rooted??

In the Purchased applications we have an Option like Root recording which will install a patch to Kernel, if you are rooted, which will record the calls from Phone line.
I advise you to reach Automatic call recorder customer service and report the issue. They might have a solution for your issue

The call recording depends on complete Kernel Support, Galaxy series has good kernel support for Call recording but for OnePlus, Cm11S you need to root and then patch the kernel to support the Call recording.

Call recording is done fine without root but with distortion in the callers voice and not mine as if the volume recorded for the other party is way too high. DO you mean to say that rooting and patching the kernel will normalize the volume levels for the caller???

The distortions in recording are because the recording tool is recording the voice from Mic rather than call line. To get the call line recording the Kernel has to support it.
So you 100% sure its not a hardware issue with my OPO and I need not return it?
