Recorder access to incoming voice - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

having a poor memory, I have become accustomed on my Treo to being able to record a caller if they are trying to give me info that I need later (with their knowledge). The AT&T tilt has blocked access to incoming voice for 3rd party recorders to use. Can anyone develop a fix?

there are some apps out there that do record incoming calls Vito audio notes is one of them also just google search and try out demo of different apps. many have said it can be done but i use vito audio notes all the time and it works great

I haven't kept up on the topic, but if I remember correctly there were a few threads about this (use the search) and I'm pretty sure the conclusion was that it was impossible to get access to the mic during a call.

One of you is not telling the truth.

Looking for hack
The AT&T tilt has blocked access to incoming voice for 3rd party recorders to use. I have tried all the recording software, none of them record the incoming voice. One of the s/w vendors even says that the hardware for incoming voice is not accessable for the TILT. I was hoping that someone might know how to hack the phone to make it work.
Any help would be great. And I have seen that alot of the users would be interested in this.

Have you tried Vito Audio notes?

Yes, and it doesn't record the other party either.

I don't mean to get into the middle of this... but they should all work if you enable the speaker phone... maybe not crystal clear, but it should record...

Yes, this is the only known solution. It is not very the clearest, but get's the job done. This is my LARGEST complaint with the TILT coming from the old Sony T616 a long time ago.

I can record while using the headset and speakerphone (tested with VITO audio notes) but not with just the phone (it records my voice but not the caller).
I guess this is a hardware issue and is probably hard to fix. I guess you have to make a virtual "audio cable" where you can set the phone to use the speaker then route the signal back (somehow)???

Resco AudioRecorder and Vito Audio Notes will do what you want to do, if your device supports the feature.
On my HTC Wizard the only way to record both sides of the conversation is to turn the speaker-phone on.
The Vito programmers have included a function in Audio Notes that turns on the speaker-phone automatically when you answer a call. I would assume that they did this because they found no other way around the problem on some devices.
Hope this helps.

OMG use search ffs theres a thread as long as your arm (perhaps even longer) where the slickest programmers in the know from XDA dev try everything (and i mean everything) to get this to work then outline the reasons why it wont.

hey buddy, thank u so much for lettin' me know about Vito Audio Notes, it works perfectly fine with my phone, though it needs the speakerphone to be on, while recording. But Something is always better than Nothing. I can compromise on that. And unlike Nokia, there are no more continuous annoyin' beeps at the background, while recording. Thanks again, mate.

Phone call recording will not work on Palm treo 700w and 750v
Phone call PVR
Phone call PVR is the personal voice recorder mobile application that provides real time phone call recording using Automatic or Manual capture modes. It allows you to record your mobile phone conversations, either by recording all phone calls automatically, or by recording the next call you make.
Note:- Due to hardware limitation, when using LivePVR for phone call recording, the call must be made in speaker mode on some Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices for LivePVR to record the voice at theother end. Otherwise, the voice of the party at the other end may not be clear in the recorded file. Please check the trial version before making a purchase if this is not acceptable to you.

mVoice disappoints too
I was hoping that mVoice will provide a solution but it disappointed me.
http://www.motionapps.com/product/mvoice/index.jsp
Here is an extract from mVoice manual:
"For Treo devices direct phone call recording is not available because of the hardware limitations of Treo devices. However phone calls can be recorded on Treo 750/700w having the following in mind:
− If you are using a headset you will be able to record only your voice - sound from the other side of a call cannot reach mVoice since Treo directs it to the ear speaker.
− If you are not using a headset, sound from both participants of the phone call will be recorded, but to make it usable you should turn on the "Speaker Phone" option after answering the call."
Record calls with Wizard without speaker phone
I can record calls getting both sides of the conversation without having to be in speaker phone mode. using my Wizard. Button 4, just hold it down and it will record as long as you hold the button down. I have that button (4) assigned to Record.

I use WM Sound Recorder to record my HTC Touch Pro phone conversation. It could record outgoing and incoming calls automatically. maybe you could have atry.
In short
Call recording and answering machine softwares are available , but needs speaker phone to be on.
This is hardware limitation with HTC but works with some other windows mobile devices like O2.
If works with HTC please let us all know.
Recording for mobile phone users
While this thread is old, a Google search for the topic finds it, so I'll comment. I've always found a voice recorder useful, for general non-phone, landline, and mobile phone use (particularly for recording otherwise undocumented customer (dis)services promises). A Nokia 9500 phone with Psiloc Extended Recorder software gave me most of what I wanted when out and about, but landline recording was problematical. Windows Mobile is more difficult.
But I've found a solution which is pretty much perfect for me. It sounds theoretically awful, like recording music with a microphone in front of the radio, but works extremely well, with both sides of the conversation recording at similar sound levels and without extraneous noise. After buying a "cheap" Chinese recorder which plugged into the landline connection, that ticked the right boxes and worked as specified, but didn't do the job well in practice, I got the right equipment: a tiny voice recorder (95x37x10mm, 47g) and a microphone that sits in your ear, underneath the phone speaker or a hands-free (but not in-ear) headset. Olympus does lots of suitable recorders; I found the WS-210S 2nd-hand & cheap. The unique bit is the Olympus telephone pickup TP-7. It will record with the pickup from any phone you use (eg payphone), and of course from its microphone. The lowest-quality audio (138 hours in 512k! - don't go overboard for massive memory) is 100% fine for understandable speech, voice-activated recording, and low microphone sensitivity for phone or close dictation, high for general conversation. Makes small (60kB/min) time-stamped WMA recordings with useless file names which I move and rename ASAP to a computer into which I have USB-plugged the recorder.
This is so much more versatile than mobile-only software, for about 37 GBP (but no need to buy new version when I change phone) and a small gadget and cable to carry, that I have happily given up the complications of software. I use the mobile phone (and other people's phones) without a headset, and the landline with a Plantronics over-ear headset.
HTH, pol08
PS problems with Chinese voice recorder: needed fiddly settings every time used, didn't start in right mode; voice-activated recording didn't work with compression, and uncompressed file was huge .WAV; compressed file format was non-standard .ACT - could play only with Windows software supplied, but no editing to trim silences; no timestamp.
Since there are recent comments on this thread....
Thus typing-in....ACR call recorded has worked for me without the speaker mode also..
It works smoothly...

Vito Audio Notes "Touch", doesn't actually record the call from the phone, it can be set to auto activate the speaker phone which leads to a sccessfull recording, how ever if you turn off the speakerphone option, your back to the issue of only one sideof the call being recorded.
Sorry if this shoots down the "live voice or not" expectations.
guys, do read my related articles in the wiki instead of spreading false info...
Sorry, but I'm not spreading false info...
With Vito Audio Notes Touch, when I Listen to a recorded call, I can hear both the voices, even if do not use the function of auto activate the speaker phone
If you are sure that Vito can't record all the voices, I have to think that the volume of my Eten X800 is so loud that it can be recorded from my microphone.
In this case, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding

It's puirely dependent on the actual phone model, NOT the software. That is, something that works on, say, an s310 or an Advantage, won't work on the Kaiser, the Wizard or the Universal.
See http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Audio and call recording, answering machines ; in there, I've explained this all.

Call recording

Can U do call recording on touch pro? nearly all HTC phones cannot record calls, even with third party software. I remember that when I changed my ROM on my Jasjar from a phone dealer, Call Recording worked but speaker phone stopped. Are there any registry settings?
I'm curious to know this as well. None of my PPC phones were able to do this but my OLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDD Nextel i930 phone was able to and it was based off of the old Windows Mobile CE platform, so I don't see why the Raphael can't handle the task...
Maybe because call recording is illegal in many countries...
Try this:
Resco Audio Recorder
It can record all Your calls automatically.
It can do. But it depends on the hardware whether or not it records both sides of the call. This was not the case with the tytn ii. And unfortunately I dont hold out hope for the raph.
Thats why I keep my old SE phone.
The "illegal" argument is pretty thin, its 100% legal if you inform the person you are talking with that you are recording.
This is a useful tool for some people, and its just silly that HTC refuse to implement this feature.
I use VITO Audionotes on my kaiser right now and the calll recording works pretty well, especially on speaker phone.
In Sweden the law says that if one of the callers is aware that the call is recorded, then it's legal. If none of the callers know, then it is illegal.
" if one of the callers is aware that the call is recorded, then it's legal. If none of the callers know, then it is illegal."
?
sounds odd should that not be if both callers know it's legal
but if one dont it's illegal ?
if none of them know then who's doing the recording?
apart from the operators and secret service ?

Record incoming and outgoing calls

Before i had a droid 3, it wasnt possible to record incoming and outgoing calls. I am owning a Photon Q 4g LTE now, and i was wondering if it works with this device or not?
I have Google Voice, which allows me to record incoming calls.
If you want to record any calls, I'd guess you'd need some sort of an app. There are a few... have you tried any of them?
This one I saw on the front page of xda-devs not too long ago.
There's a bunch on the Play Store as well.
There is also a module for Xposed Framework that allows you to record calls.

Indeed, there are a lot of recorders like that, mut some phones like the droid 3 dont support it. The S3 does support.

Well I have this application, and when I have audio source set to PhoneLine only first couple of seconds is recorded correctly, then recorded voice becomes all squeaky and hardly understandable, but no impact on call quiality. When set to Microphone the other party does not hear me at all. I got a response from the author about my issue, he suggested to use Microphone and higher Gain Level, but I haven't tried it yet. When I do I'll post my results.
Unfortunately no help...
Might be a little non-trivial to set up however using Google-Voice adds the functionality to record calls to this phone..
It is a little tricky to get it working correctly with Sprint in general but well worth it! You can record, then access everything online including texting and calling (using your phones number and plan) from the web..
I know some people may not like using google for things like that but it just works so good...

Hello,
Is there a way to have the option call recorder directly from the phone app?
So when I call or receive the call I have the option to start recording?
Thank you in advance for your help.

There is a call recorder from BoldBeast that I have been watching closely.
http://www.boldbeast.com/
http://www.boldbeast.com/forum/topic1182-galaxy-s7-call-recorder.html
I am not endorsing the app and I am not associated with this app or the developer in any way and I have not tried it yet.
However, the developer claims that it can record individual calls, but I am not aware of how it integrates into the phone or dialer. I have been looking for a good, reliable, call recorder myself that offers full and clear recording options, the ability to record to SD card, and a good UI and phone integration. I used Call Recorder from Skvalex for years (rooted S4), but I'm not sure if it will work completely with an unrooted S7 or not. That's why I'm looking around. I want to make sure whatever I install works as advertised. I don't mind paying for a Pro version if it just works.
Another app Developer claims this works: Amazing Audio MP3 Recorder
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stereomatch.mp3.audio.recorder
Again, I have not tried it and can not endorse it.
If you try any of these, please report back with a full review and let everyone know what works well and what maybe doesn't.
Good luck.

It records both sides of the audio call with out any issues (I have my audio source set to "mic") and also records correctly when I use my bluetooth headset, but you have to untick the Bluetooth option in settings (reverse logic)
It will automatically record incoming and outgoing calls, which is useful
I only use the free version, although really should buy the pro version to support the developer

It worked perfectly on bluetooth. Both sides loud and clear. Thank you very much. Now to buy the premium version.
I use to have a rooted device and the recorder is always included as bake in. I miss those days.
I tried the ones mentioned earlier in this thread and they all worked... sort of. The audio they record is extremely low and lots of static/popping. I have to put the speaker up to my ear to hear the audio from the other person. My voice is much louder, but still not that great.

I have the same problem as 96cobra, I've used Automatic Call Recorder Pro flawlessly on my S5 for 2 years. I recently upgraded to the S7 and now it will only record my voice clearly, the other caller is completely distorted and crackly.
Also, it causes ALL audio on my phone to have a crackling sound. If I uninstall it, the audio distortion goes away.
Does anyone know of a systemwide equalizer or sound control app that I might be able to use to correct this issue?
