For the most expensive top of the range phone available this is unacceptable. How can a budget phone (moto g) outperform like this? Hope this can be fixed with an update, though it's more likely to be a hardware issue.

Assuming Moto G has WiFi 'n' that is 2.4GHz which provides long range than WiFi 'AC' 5Ghz in S7

S7 has 'n' as well though. It's not that it can't see the other routers, it just goes out of range sooner. Probably an antenna design compromise.

If you have connected to 5Ghz network it's using AC. If not then there seems to be a problem

Hi guys! I'm very glad with the upgrade in camera I've got, however some minor performance glitches and, lastly, wifi speed have been bothering me.
Watch this simple video I've took comparing both Nexus 4 (2 and a half years old) and my brand new Moto X Play wifi performance. Note that both phones were right beside the router. Some meters away from the router, Moto X Play can even score worse (sometimes lower than 1 Mbps - no, I'm not kidding).
Please, tell me this WiFi speed is something I can fix.
Wonder if that can even be fixed via software. That's insanely different.
Could someone do a similar test? It would be good to know whether it's only my device or it's every Moto X Play.

I'm using Opera Max on both phones. Now that you said I've just disabled it and there was no increase on WiFi speed...
perfect
I've found out some interesting stuff: WiFi goes full speed WHEN I TURN OFF BLUETOOTH.
Temporary workaround: live Bluetooth off, despite having a in-car bluetooth device.
I haven't been able to recreate any issues with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth conflicting somehow. Wi-Fi speed stays constant regardless of whether the Bluetooth is on or off. I'm using the European 16GB single-SIM variant.

Actually, regardless of which server it is connected, WiFi speed goes up to the band maximum when I turn off bluetooth.
No probs here. With and without bluetooth, the MPX maxes out my 120 MBit/s cable internet download speed.
I am currently having a weak connection when connecting bt devices. My Gear S2 disconnects when I walk into another room and bt speakers cut out when my hand is placed on back of the phone.
My Bluetooth range is as expected with my Gear S2.

I think my S2 has about 10ft more range now compared to when I was using it with my S6 plus. But using a Bluetooth speaker has been a lot worse. I can only go 5ft away from my speaker before it cuts in and out with phone in hand and 10ft when I lay my phone down.
I've found that my range is much greater than with my last phone(Moto X Pure) but it takes longer to connect to my car. I also noticed the S8 doesn't display artist and song info on my car which is kind of disappointing.
My gear S2 is disconnecting more often on my s8+ than on my S7 and iPhone, seems to disconnect at 10 feet. Still get good range with my Bluetooth speaker. My gear S2 got an update today that had Bluetooth connectivity as an issue, but I notice no improvement
My S8+ looses the BT connection with Gear S3 at half the range I had when using with S7 Edge.

Not having any issues with BT, my Gear Fit 2 never loses connection anywhere in the house and my phone can be laying on the kitchen table and the car loses connection about 50' - 60' down the driveway.
OMG....
Android N doesn't support bluetooth 5 so it uses lower version. Also unless your other device is bluetooth 5, it will still be lower. It uses BT4 and range is what it should be.

So I have a brand new Note Plus that in two locations will connect to wifi, but I am experiencing significant packet loss (30-70%) if I ping from my phone to the router. Both locations use a Cambium E410 Wireless Access Point. I have taken it to 2 other places and experience no wireless issues.. I was trying to see if it was a 2.4 or 5Ghz issue potentially, but I can't see where in this version of android to force the Note to use 5Ghz vs 2.4ghz. Also trying to determine what other troubleshooting I could perform...

Is the router wireless too? Then switch off the access point and try to connect to the router directly and check. For the best speeds, every wireless access point should be connected to the router with an Ethernet cable. Put all the above - both wireless access points and the router - all on the same ssid and password but different channels so they don't step on each other (which might also be the problem). Then, your devices will automatically connect to the one with the strongest signal and not even know or care about it. You will have to set the channels in use rather than leaving the devices on "auto". You can use "WiFi Analyzer" and "WiFi Tool" - both free downloads on the play store. Don't hide the ssid's - unless it is all working flawlessly - later .

Yes you are right, note 9 the range is better than note 10 plus, this is what disappointed me most.
The rest is ok, I had read note 10 only catch the signal is strong, if its weak it doesn't show in WiFi scanning.
Hope they can fix this.

Do you live in a larger City? No problems with my op6 here i live, somewhat spread 4g.
Concerned if i need to deliver it in, or if it can be fixed with an sw update.
No. I live on the edge of a large town.
My S21 on T-Mobile has been a damned disaster. Can't hold a 5G signal to save its life, and I have 4 other 5G phones next to it locked onto 5G, getting 4x faster speed tests. I'm hoping the Flip performs better.
I believe the S21 has the same modem as the Flip 3.

Me too!!! I'm finding that I have no connection or I am roaming in places that I had coverage on my S9. My wife's iPhone SE was staying on Spectrum while I was roaming. Thinking about sending it back.
Yes i am going to deliver it in, cant check bank app when in stores. Only have edge coverage where i usually have 4g.
From few mounths I have problems with stability cellular in my phone.- Exynos Europe.

I agree with snap in fold, Exynos is problematic but previous I had few samsung phones with exynos high and mid (Note 5, A8, A5, Note 9, N20U) and I have first time similar problems a lot of time with cellular like in S22U.
So after that I supposed hardware defect in my device. Only thing what can I do is sent to service for replace motherboard or happily all device.
Services in my country are problematic and usually first flash soft via odin then sent back but I must try.

Is your phone exynos? Sadly it have weaker Modem than snapdragon fold..
I found many references to antenna problems in the web for this phone. I think that probably it's a well known problem; probably a HW failure in the antenna. I would send it to repair.
I send it to repair yesterday but i dont know if they found the problem or they just send it back and say that the phone is okay

They exynos Modem is weak... Nothing New sadly... Especially in buildings you can see a difference vs other phones with better Modem like the fold with snapdragon.... I have both s22u exynos (my girlfriend is using it) and s22u snapdragon (mine) both with Telekom and especially in large buildings you See the difference. Also the Modem struggles with poor Signal... More drain also. In wlan both phones are the same...

Exactly. Now my S22U use girlfiriend and 2 weeks ago in city centre my fold 2 ( my best device in basic function like GSM connection comapre to previous Exynos devices N5>N9>A5 2017, A8 2018- only Note 20U was good but battery life was too bad, even 2 year note 9 had better results) fast connect to data transfer and S22U have problem to load website - same carrier. Maybe only sometimes see similar issue in her S22U but she can irritating.
I am interesting S23 series in this cause like cellular connection and stability.

The last direct SD/Exy comparison I did myself was with two Note 10, it was frequency dependent. +- 3dB on one and +-3dB on the other. Therefore I started wondering why it's that extreme on _Grizzly_s device.
In addition he says his Note 20 was fine regarding signal quality, the S22u not (I assume both Exynos). If I check dBm values measured in the Weka lab, I see:
N20U TX
GSM
20,4 25,4
LTE
17,2 18,9 17,6
N20U RX
GSM
-98 -105
LTE
-95 -96 -93
S22U TX
GSM
21,6 25,4
LTE
17,2 20,0 18,5
S22U RX
GSM
-100 -107
LTE
-95 -95 -92
Therefore my assumption would be that his S22U has a defect.
