It caught my attention that all the other variants are 64 GB models and mine's a 32 GB model. It would make sense to lockout people in order to limit the capacity in a cheap way (software wise) and thus being able to comply to strange deal they made in order to ship them with 32 GB.
Whatever the reason, I'm looking forward for their official statement.

If you're right and we do not get neither root nor Marshmallow, I will sell the phone (though I like it a lot) and never buy anything from LG again.
But don't worry, Spain's LG Twitter account has confirmed Marshmallow is coming for the devices (H960A) "soon". Dunno when "soon" is, but at least they confirmed we'll get the upgrade.
"soon" is PR Newspeak for "we don't know".
That's just non-sense. You talk like every other variant has root support.
I do have the International version, it does has 64GB and it's unrootable.

So your bootloader along with some other variants is nonresponsive? What's this I heard that we need a TOT file in order to be able to root this device? And what are the chances it'll be released?
In the Netherlands only the 32 GB version is available.

I really love this device aswell. So much so that I decided to keep it and not let it be refunded. I like to think in terms of all the capacity it has even right now and when root becomes available. This device will be unrivalled when root comes out

I haven't tried anything with the bootloader yet because I'm not really too experienced with this stuff and I won't do anything before there is a common method for my variant. So far, noone rooted 960 as far as I know.
We do have only the 64 version in Turkey BTW
now im confused with these variant
It's pure speculation. You can get SoC with 64 or 32 GB when buying from manufacturers. This is disabled via hardware on the chip.

So does that mean we wont be able to unlock bootloader or root the phone at all?
This means nothing as noone know. All written here is just some speculation based on a dream or what ever.
Soo, will this phone be rootable? Should I buy it, or go for the nexus 6P or something? I don't want to be limited by LG's software.
If you don't want to be limited, you should get a nexus or one of those cyanogenmod phones. I personally stopped installing mods on my phones and changed priority to a good camera and storage.
Android is good enough now days. Since I was disappointed with nexus after having 4 devices as they always lacked superior quality here and there, I don't miss that anymore.
I'm only missing 2 mods. Viper4android & xprivacy.
My nexus 5 sounds superior compared to the V10.
I hope it stays at speculation. My refund period has expired, so yeah.
Guys this could be true
Someone just flashed his 64gb h960 with kdz for 32gb phone and got 32gb storage. He flashed another 64gb kdz and got his storage back
OMG I thought this is bullsh...t but this could be true
need phone h960a test rooted with File tot
@vrnsr do you understand how images work? If I create an image of a 32gb sd card and put it on a 64gb sd card, I only get 32gb until I expand it. So it's not ab big deal that "someone" only has 32gb after installing the 32gb image on a 64gb phone.

i should mention that i have already purchased my Xoom, so no further replies are needed. thanks to all who have and helped with my decision to buy a Xoom. i love it!!
that is the question...
ok, so the Nexus 7 just came out with JB and now the Xoom is scheduled to get it as an OTA as well, so should i get a Xoom (this one on Amazon http://amzn.to/LG6XAm) or the Nexus?
also how can i tell if im getting a US Xoom and not an Asian or UK one?
well, if you want a small screen, get the nexus. if you want a bigger screen, get the xoom.
well yeah that goes without saying. i think i would be happy with either one really. we have a kindle fire as well, so im leaning towards the xoom
there is also the new chromebook to consider
but back to the xoom, i keep seeing asian models and uk models and canadian models, how do i know im getting a us model and does it really matter?

Not sure if that matters. If you are in the US and you are ordering off Amazon, you should be getting the US one. I ordered mine refurbished from Amazon a few months ago and I have to say, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I think that the Xoom is still the best android tablet there is. The nexus is also going to be awesome so it really comes down to what you prefer in screen size.

i saw a couple of refurbed ones as well, remember who you ordered it from? and thanks for your reply, and with the xoom upgradeable to jelly bean, thats a plus too, that means it isn't irrelevant yet
Picked up mine from Tiger Direct a few months ago, not sure if they have any left now. Was a US version, spent the first 20 minutes rolling through also of the updates to be from Honeycomb to ICS 4.0.4. Amazing tablet, glad it's on the hook for JB.

I would definitely go for the Xoom if you want a larger screen. Just can't beat the screen size.
Wow.. everyone keeps talking about screen size..I could care less about that.
How about
ONLY 16 GIGS OF MEMORY!1
WTTTFFFFF
Seriously.. With todays programs/pictures/videos how they think 16 gb is enough is beyond me..
No expandable memory, for obvious reasons, MAJOR MAJOR FAIL!
Cloud or not, when I go away for business/vacation my tablet is what I bring, I load it with movies, apps, business files and so on.
16 gigs is a few movies these days, not including apps, or even jellybean itself.
So disappointing what google did, it's something Apple would do

i think you are referring to the new Nexus7 and the reason they have only 8 or 16 is to compete with the kindle fire which only has 8. so if you look at it that way and can get twice as much as the Fire for 50 bucks more, i would get that and probably will, but im leaning towards the Xoom anyway...do i really need a quad core processor?

Honestly, I'm on an 18 hour car ride right now with my Nexus S 4G in between my legs tethered to my WiFi Xoom switching between games, videos, Reddit, Tapatalk 2, and twitter, and dual core feels snappy smooth! I doubt most people need dual core, much less quad core... My NS4G is speedy on a single core 1GHZ hummingbird processor. Also, I think the quad core is at 1.3 GHZ and Xooms are set at 1.2 GHZ and can be overclocked even if necessary. The 0.1GHZ doesn't feel much different on my friend's TF Prime. I think the spec really is dead and quad core is but a buzz word. Decide based off everything else before you make something you prolly won't even use a determining factor. Either choice is great and both are easily hackable, so go with whatever you want more! At the end of the day, back camera, double the space, a bigger screen, Motorola durability (although ASUS is good as well), the full tablet UI (not the 7's ugly half phone half tablet UI), and the fact that it has a microSD slot make it a winner to me. Good luck deciding!

Search the Xoom forum for the how-to to flash US firmware onto your Xoom. It is the wifi model, right? If you have stock US firmware, you can get upcoming OTA. Actually, our devs will get you a better, more functional JB version in no time, so why bother with US firmware anyway.

Simply put, the Xoom 2 does not, I repeat, does not have a microSD card slot and thus does not support it. At all.
The Xoom 2 is an abomination that no one should buy.

yeah the Xoom does have a microsd slot but you will need to upgrade it. my wifi was of the Asian persuasion so i had to get the US wifi firmware from the motodev site. once that was installed and i did all the OTA updates, the microsd slot works. actually i think it works when you hit HC 3.2
dont really know much about the Xoom2 or the Xyboard, but you can fond those specs on the motorola site
as for my Xoom, i have Codename Android 3.3.1 (JB) on it and I love it

I recently had to send in my Xoom to Motorola for some hardware work, got it back wiped and on 4.0.1. Its been a long time since I have been on honeycomb, but I figured since I had a 100% wiped device, I'd flash my old stock images of 3.0 just to remind myself of how bad it was.
Reflecting back, honeycomb should have never been released to the public. It was terrible and definitely a beta product.
To my main point though, I went ahead and flashed an older recovery that only supported internal sdcard, after reflecting on how bad 3.0 was, planning to move a backup from my sdcard to the internal memory and then restore the backup. And then I was reminded...Android 3.0, the first iteration of Honeycomb, didn't support the sdcard yet. I ended up manually taking OTA update so I could get sdcard support, transfer the backup and then restore it (have since flashed TWRP).
Anyway, while I love my Xoom, its deployment last year was horribly rushed and it shows. The Xoom was plagued by a poor display (not IPS), no sdcard support on launch, beta level software, horrid marketing and silly prices.
And thats the end of my rant concerning the Xoom's history. I'm glad we have such an awesome community to support this thing; to be honest, if it wasn't a GED, I don't think we'd be so lucky.

For the price $400 .. it's not worth for Xoom - almost 2 years old device and may not receive future updates.
I recommend you to buy N7 or if you want bigger screen , find a refurbished Xoom on ebay (about $250 , I'm using one and everything goes fine.) or maybe Asus Transformer 1st gen.

maybe you should have read through this thread first. i already purchased a Xoom ($360 on amazon and well worth it), installed the U.S. wifi firmware from MotoDev which allowed me to get all the OTA updates to Jelly Bean, unlocked the bootloader, flashed a recovery and now am running custom JB roms

I was about a day away from upgrading my AT&T Samsung GS3 to the LG G3 until I heard whispers of the updated Prime being released for the US at the Berlin IFA show. Anyone else hear anything else more substantial about it? Honestly this phone has everything i need, honestly a phone with more power right now is a bit overkill cause i don't think there is an app in which you need all of this processing power but if you haven't upgraded yet and you can wait until it comes out then more power to you cause i can tell you that this phone is awesome and with more speed it will feel better if not the same, but a newer phone might also mean that the bootloader unlock will take longer to achieve and root to cause they might fix everything that was good to exploit right now we are looking close to bootloader unlock or at least there is solid progress, but it's your pick man get an awesome phone at a discount or get the same phone with a bit more power at a later date at a more expensive price

I disagree with some of these statements.
First you have to ask yourself, what will you get out of a new device which your not getting in your current one?
Now that you've answered this, browse the phones that meet these prerequisites.
Read reviews, see which one has better res., faster processor, whatever meets YOUR needs, not necessarily the markets.
Look at the manufacturors' credentials to get a feel for how well they provide things like updates, support, etc.
Once you've made a decision, go for it. I came from the S4 to this since I bricked it... but typically I will wait a processor generation(1-2 years). Went from having a single core, to dual core, quad core, but f*ed up my phone, so I got a beefed up quad that was appeasing.
WHAT ARE YOUR NEEDS is my main point, sometimes there is never enough processing power for someone who has 5 email accounts, all of the common social networking apps && a high-process running launcher. It all depends on what you do with your device, but 3-6 months after the release of the first generation processor of it's kind is my rule of thumb...
My personal opinion & 2 cents worth. If I knew there was a prime coming out in two weeks from the day I was about to get this phone, I would hold out as well lol
Lol well i just bought the phone and im not up for renewal until 2 years again so i have to stick with this amazing LG G3 regardless .

Personally, I think you made a sound choice. From what I've been able to gather, the only difference in the Prime version, if it is even made available in the US, is that it will have an 805 processor. It was designed for the markets that use the cat6 lte band, which the US doesn't have. The 805 is supposed to have a better and more efficient graphics processor, but that doesn't mean a whole lot to me be a use I don't do much gaming. You might see a slight bump in performance and battery life, but we're probably still months away from seeing it in the states. By that time, the G4 will already be close, as well as devices with the 810 (I saw an article about it on DL today). I'm perfectly happy with the G3, and once the bootloader is unlocked (which appears to be soon, according to posts in the Bounty threads), I will be entertained for several months until we see the next gen devices.

Agreed. Don't get caught up in semi generational devices. You don't get your $'s worth, your off meaningful product cycles, and frankly creating a satisfaction hole you will never fill.
As soon as this boot loader is unlocked. I'm selling my M8 GPE and sticking with this until next year when my "Next Plan" with the carrier is finished.

There is no reason for LG to release it in the US. When it was released LG said they have no plans to have it outside of Korea. I think it should come to the US but I don't think it will. I have one coming from Korea in a few days which is what you should do if you want one. Also if you order it from Korea you get a spare battery, battery charger and headphones with the phone.
Out of Box SW from new Verizon online purchases? (128gb)
I’ve done an extensive amount of searching, both here and elsewhere, I was hoping to be able to figure this out without a new thread but here goes …
I am interested in getting a 128gb S6, I am also interested in rooting. Obviously In order to root the build it needs to be OC3/OE2 out of the box. I’ve gone to a couple Verizon stores as part of my fact finding and for the 32/64gb versions they appear to all be about out of the OE2 (I found one for 64 but was not in a position to get it). Also per Verizon the 128gb version is delivery order only.
My question is for those here who have a 128gb version. Given that the out of box SW is dependent on when it was sent to Verizon, I’m interested to hear when folks bought / received theirs and what the SW was. My hope is that the 128gb trim has been slow selling and they have a lot of back-stock or Never ordered more units from Samsung. That hope is based on the idea that the level obviously sold poorly enough that Samsung declined to offer the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ with 128gb. Basically I’m trying to figure out what my chances at OE2 are if I order one.
Sorry for the long post and thank you.
-JasonVaritekMVP
Not sure how this is going to help you. You have no way of knowing until you get the unit. Anyone's past experience getting a 128gb is what they got when they got it. The longer you wait, the higher chance it will be updated.
Just go to the store and tell them that you want one with only those versions of software. The firmware version is on the box. Buying online will be hard and unpredictable.

I was in your same position a few weeks ago. I got a brand new 128gb thru Verizon's website praying it would be on OE2 but to my amazement it was only on OC3! I was so happy, lol.
I think your luck is good because the 128gb model is the least popular and most likely all the 128gb models are just sitting on shelves in some warehouse so in order for them to be updated an employee would have to go thru each one, one by one and download and install the OTA's, correct? So yeah, I think that would take a while and they would just let the customer do the OTA.
But like the other guy said the longer you wait the worse your chances are....
Btw for what it's worth mine got shipped from Memphis.

That is indeed my hope. And I place the order Wednesday, (Family plan, I don't get to make unilateral decisions on the account)
Also just for clarity I have inquired to the stores about 64gb, looks like at this point it's pretty much OF1 or late.

Ok guys when i watched the czech republich LG official website i was happy because this was meaning something is moving in the Europe after Korea and USA but........
when i've seen the description of the smartphone i felt so upset because.... NO 64 GB version for us.... only 32 GB (not mentioned the 64 GB version at all).
For the love of god....i hope this will be only a bad mistake....

Nah, it says 4GB RAM on the website, and im 99.9% the 32GB is a typo, maybe its the same 64GB after all
I'm hoping it's a typo as well, but I'm starting to doubt that. I've also seen it posted on the emirates website:

Any news of the exact date of launch of the V10 in europe? Will it launch in all countries?
It's listed in LG Turkey webpage as the model LGH960TR ; having 64GB + 4GB so no surprises here.
Though the launch price is currently over Note 5; meaning most people won't buy it over Note5 because it's a much more popular and well known product.
Ugh, I hate when they make those changes. I doubt the storage cost them that much.
any ideas on when exactly this phone will be available in these countries?
Pretty much fed up with Samsung not bringing the birenote 5 to Europe and now again LG seem to be following same trend. Can't work out why
Wondering if it will be possible to unlock that phone. If yes, I will definitively purchase it.
It's 32 gb version and so far it seems like there is no way to unlock the phone.
any root available for h960a yet guys ?
i got the phone :/ can't go on like this..
Nice to see more H960 users. Hope to see developers. I miss root and twrp options so bad. Such a good device but no developers
Some one did mention about having a 32GB version of the V10 in another forum, I though that only 64GB version was the only one available, 64GB against 32GB does make a difference, to LG it's only a few cents differences in cost, not sure why they made this decision.
Nope, there is only 32GB version, they will never sell in CZ 64GB version officially.
It is really a pity, but I guess it is due to the costs. Even with this config, it is beating all top models.

I have a 32gb lgh960a

here we are
i've got my H960a since a week, italian version, 32gb with 4gb ram.
The official answer from LG about the 32gb is that's a matter of overall cost... the official price in italy is crazy (749€) with a 64gb version it would have been higher.
I've added easily a 64gb extra with a class10 micro sd.
I confirm that no root is available so far... the bootloader seems to be locked
Do you have carrier version? Or bought without contract?

I waited and researched my options, before finally pulling the plug and settled with the unlocked 64GB SD version that's available in the US. I bouhgt my device on Apr 1st, didn't even realize that their window to initiate RMA is only 15 days.
Chatted with a live chat agent, and didn't offer any other way to help me to exchange to the larger storage options as I'm out of my 15 day window.
I want to see if anyone else has encountered this situation with Samsung direct...I've read in the past bout how terrible their customer service is, so not really putting much hope on this one.
Or open to any other suggestion as well.
TLR: Bought 64GB on Apr 1st from Samsung.com, now they announce the larger storage options but I'm out of the return period.
Your going to need to sell it, as much as I hated to say that.
But I am with you, I never really need 128G but if its available I always get it because it increases the resale value. Now that they got 128 / 256GB I am sure the resale of the current 64GB's just hit the floor.
Wow that's kind of messed up for those who actually buy these devices and have to recoup the costs when they upgrade later
One of the reasons I went with Exynos was for the 128. I'd almost consider selling it for the SD variant now just for the better radio support in the u.s.

Unfortunately yeah. I even called the sales line, they won't budge at all. And they kept like..."you know you can also upgrade the storage through microsd to up to 400GB..." And I told them..yeah I could, but wouldn't you rather me spending that $195 on you instead?
Plus, these people have no clue on the speed difference between UFS 2.1 and microsd.

Yeah, I've seen a collective outrage around reddit and article comments, maybe if enough people send them some rage phone call they might do something about it.

you know this was the deciding point that made me go for the 64GB SD variant since I was reading about the poor signal quality and what not.
I originally was gonna go for the G9650 SD HK/Chinese version to get the larger storage.

I'm using Cricket, and my signal strength is fine, but I can't help but feel like my data would be faster on a SD variant.
Is wanting a bigger storage option just solely for the higher resale value after? I would understand the outrage if there was no expandable storage but in this case there is expandable storage.

that's one of the reasons I purchased the G965F from CLOVE UK - it came with 128 GB and was available back when it was originally released.

That is true, but internal storage is lightning fast compared to external storage

nope, I just need bigger storage since I have a lot of apps and files even with my 200GB microsd. Constantly moving pics/videos to the Microsd gets real old real fast.
and as mentioned before, having UFS 2.1 speed is not the same with microSD. Especially if you're recording 4K videos, you need a U3 speed card for that. Even sandisk 400GB is only U1, god knows how much their new extreme U3 version card is gonna cost.

For me, yes. The better speced the phone the better resale value. I keep my phones on average 2 or 3 months as a daily driver so maximizing my return is essential!

If they had said that to me I would have pointed the irony in the statement...
So your telling me th einternal storage is not that big of a deal so I should use an SD card? Yet, its a big enough deal to you make a phone with larger capcity... Things that make you go hmmmmm...

I read somewhere on XDA that not all devices are 2.1!TRUE STORY! If I can find it again I will post here but some are only UFS 2.0 depending on the EMMCS / DRAM MFG.
True Story!

Strange, I just quoted myself...
Anyways... Yes, It appears this is the case for a few different devices including the Note 8 and the S8+ as well as I found some lesser known brands using this crap.
Does anyone know if the 256gb unlocked version will work on Sprint CDMA network?
Can't find any specs on it.
Thanks
