Out of Box SW from new Verizon online purchases? (128gb)
I’ve done an extensive amount of searching, both here and elsewhere, I was hoping to be able to figure this out without a new thread but here goes …
I am interested in getting a 128gb S6, I am also interested in rooting. Obviously In order to root the build it needs to be OC3/OE2 out of the box. I’ve gone to a couple Verizon stores as part of my fact finding and for the 32/64gb versions they appear to all be about out of the OE2 (I found one for 64 but was not in a position to get it). Also per Verizon the 128gb version is delivery order only.
My question is for those here who have a 128gb version. Given that the out of box SW is dependent on when it was sent to Verizon, I’m interested to hear when folks bought / received theirs and what the SW was. My hope is that the 128gb trim has been slow selling and they have a lot of back-stock or Never ordered more units from Samsung. That hope is based on the idea that the level obviously sold poorly enough that Samsung declined to offer the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ with 128gb. Basically I’m trying to figure out what my chances at OE2 are if I order one.
Sorry for the long post and thank you.

Not sure how this is going to help you. You have no way of knowing until you get the unit. Anyone's past experience getting a 128gb is what they got when they got it. The longer you wait, the higher chance it will be updated.
Just go to the store and tell them that you want one with only those versions of software. The firmware version is on the box. Buying online will be hard and unpredictable.

I was in your same position a few weeks ago. I got a brand new 128gb thru Verizon's website praying it would be on OE2 but to my amazement it was only on OC3! I was so happy, lol.
I think your luck is good because the 128gb model is the least popular and most likely all the 128gb models are just sitting on shelves in some warehouse so in order for them to be updated an employee would have to go thru each one, one by one and download and install the OTA's, correct? So yeah, I think that would take a while and they would just let the customer do the OTA.
But like the other guy said the longer you wait the worse your chances are....
Btw for what it's worth mine got shipped from Memphis.

Thank you for the testimonial.
That is indeed my hope. And I place the order Wednesday, (Family plan, I don't get to make unilateral decisions on the account)
Also just for clarity I have inquired to the stores about 64gb, looks like at this point it's pretty much OF1 or late.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

In case anyone else had a similar question to me about the firmware out of the box for a 128 gb s6 (gold). I got it in the mail today and it is OE2! I'm all rooted, titanium installed and blocking the OTA updates from harassing me
And they say there are no happy endings.

This might help.....http://www.samsung.com/us/peaceofmind/authorized_resellers.html
you might as well wait until the 15th and see what samsung as to say. Ordering from Negri and expasys, you wont have a direct warranty with samsung (they're not authorized resellers of samsungs product). its only two more days and i just read that in europe it will be available the next day, so hopefully its the same for the EMERICA!

Best Buy has wi-fi models on hand
I walked into my local Best Buy looking to get a TF Prime Infinity until I saw at least 10 white and black Note 10.1 wi-fi sitting in their tablet cabinet. I asked and employee about it but after numerous scans in their system, it wouldn't come up with a price so they couldn't sell it to me. I even asked about preordering but they couldn't find it in the system either. They said to check back this Sunday. Lets just say the thought of running out store with it crossed my mind....

Not finding anything on Amazon. Still in limbo about purchasing one but come tomorrow I don't know if I'll be able to resist!
Best Buy is about to have both the 16GB and 32GB WiFi model. Check HERE.
I made up my mind to buy an n8000. Now I am searching hi and low for a 64gb model. Do you know where they are avail?
I tried Negri electronics and it says not available and the 32gb is now $150 more than the 16gb and on back order.
I tend to run out of memory on my devices and the 64gb option was very attractive for that reason.
thanks, rojen

negrielectronics com /catalogsearch/result/?q=samsung+galaxy+note+10.1+32GB - $646.50 backordered
ah, but I see it is the n8010, not the n8000.
But Here is one I believe in 32GB: m-electronicsdeal com /new-samsung-galaxy-note-101-inch-n8000-3g-32gb-tablet-287-p.asp
Pls be aware that the specs do not match the add. The top says 32gb, the details say 16. The details also say 1gb ram, and 3mp rear camera. Either the top specs are off or the bottom. I wrote their customer service.
i wrote Samsung and asked what countries they sold the n8000 in with higher gigs. No reply yet.
The 64gb versions are like the Loch Ness monster, everyone's heard about it, a few have seen it but there's no real evidence it exists.....
The best I could find was the 32gb version of the N8000 in JB Hifi in Australia... They were selling for $800 at the time(October 12) but I got 2 for me and 1 for my brother... Haven't really seen them since.....
And yes, be careful, I found a lot of 32gb Note 10.1's on Ebay from good stores to find that they're selling 16gb versions with a 16gb sd card... Cheating to my way of thinking...

Okay, to be honest, I am not sure it helps either. Seller has no certificates showing protection or safety. South Africa ? (No offense to S. Africans but I used to get all kinds of scam stuff from there.) - and has only been in existence for 2 months. Price is not too bad tho. There is a map of seller's location on the web site. It corresponds to a kiosk called Wang Thai (sounds like a restaurant) - close to a big statue. I sent them an email anyway and my security on Firefox popped up that it thought this site was a scam. - no warm fuzzies here -
Samsung got back to me. They recommended trying the UK. Been trying without much success. They also said warranty is only local, not international like a notebook. Something seriously wrong with an international company selling stuff all over the world, but only having local warranties. But all the *phones* are that way - including the non-phone tablets. This has caused me serious headaches in the past - yet here I go again, lol.
Samsung also said the number of GB's is built right on the motherboard - so no upgrade without swapping motherboards - and it could only be done in the country where you bought it in any event.
I can get a 64GB ipad - but I have been a long Samsung fan and want this. My wife has the Note and loves it. Sooner or later I will find it - I hope. r

Blame the various Governments for this, not Samsung.
One of my friend is gonna return from the US for vacation on december 31st and I was hoping to get a nexus 5 via him.
So my question is when will be nexus 5 be available again?I know that its a silly question but I think you can predict the availability of the next stock by the pattern of the nexus 4 stock last year.
moreover im hearing alot of defects in nexus 5.do majority of the nexus 5 has this issue or its just a few unlucky ones?im saying this because i cant RMA it if it does have any defects.
your help is appreciated.
I think it would be difficult to predict stocking levels, even trying to base it on the Nexus 4. From what's been showing up on the order pages, I'd guess more stock will be coming mid- to late-November.
As far as defects go, remember that most people come to forums and complain. Far fewer come to say that everything's great. So issues that are really pretty isolated seem like they're much more widespread. That's no guarantee of getting a perfect unit, of course, but then again there's no consumer electronics device being sold today where you can likely get such a guarantee. They all have issues.

No. The article means that if you want to purchase a black N5 16 GB from the Play Store, you can't right now because its sold out. Previously, the Play store would allow you to purchase this particular variant of the phone but it would say that it wouldn't ship until anywhere from 2-5 weeks later. Now, it won't let you purchase that model at all because its still out of stock and Google presumably doesn't have an accurate estimate of when they will be receiving more stock. They will eventually have stock but they just don't know when. So that's what the article is referring to, that the phone has flip flopped between being available for purchase with a 2-5 week shipping delay vs not being able to be purchased at all (its current status). Please keep in mind that this only applies to the black 16 GB version. Other colors/configurations are available for purchase from the Play store but with delayed shipping several weeks later.

There's not trade in selection for a google pixel 6 pro... Waiting on chat to see what's up there.
Edit: What's a good place to sell it? I'd like to get close to what I paid for it.
Edit 2: Verizon will give me $1000 for trade in. Same as what I paid. I'd prefer an unlocked phone, but that may be the best deal I can get.

Probably, but I'd rather have it come out monthly on my VZW account. Plus I don't want a lot of the accessories anyhow.
I managed to pre-order before the presentation was over un the UK. There was a queue system on each checkout step lol I pre-ordered the S22 Ultra 512GB in Graphite. Trading in my wife's P40 Pro, and at least in the UK you get the Buds Pro as a gift for pre-ordering.
after 8 frickin hours of trying off and on, I was able to get one pre-ordered here in the States, green unlocked 512gb, wanted the red one but the green was my next choice and was able to get that ordered, so that`s what I got lol, I was curious so I tried a preorder again and there site is still having issues at 4 am in the states WTF samsung.
My wife was trying all day yesterday. she finally got a checkout button and she checked out and it removed the watch from her cart without letting her make changes and she lost her 250 samsung credit. She is so mad. she has benn trying to call them since midnight est time. I am not even sure she slept.
I placed an "upgrade programme" order last night ok ... website in uk seemed bugged and only allowed burgendy colour
But cancelled the order for now instead anyway -- waiting until we get some real performance metrics from the device ... "leaked" figured / testing have been all over the place so nothing trusted yet.
Need to see things like stress tests etc on Exynos before i commit again.
Just preordered mine, Burgundy 256GB, got a $100 discount and trade in value for my iphone 13 pro max of $900
What do you guys think, will there be any law suits againts Samsung where they where promising a flagship and we received maybe 500€ worth of a phone. With all the problems going around like bad network signal, freezing when getting a call, bad GPS signal, camera is far from their promises. I can't belive that a phone can be this different from SD version, which i would not think for a 1300€ phone. I am affraid that many of these faults are hardware related and we will never get the phone it was promised, and will be just a shadow to SD version.
Im starting to believe that GOS issues were intruduced just so Exynos variant would not feel so much different to SD versions, so the must have reduces SD performance so i would compare more to Exsynos version.
If i could return the phone this instance i would, or at least if Samsung would give us option to swap it with SD version.
Dunno... I believe that many of the current issues can and will be fixed via updates and presently many tests indicate that the Exynos indeed isn't all that bad in most categories.
I am in fact most curious about reception quality aka modem, not sure if this is really fixable via software. Most tests so far indicate that the Snapdragon modem indeed is quite a bit ahead of the Exynos....
I have Exynos version (12/256) since day one, never experienced major problems with it, but starting with AVC6, the phone sometimes freezes and reboots for incoming calls, before I even answer. I don't like it.
So... I should not have ordered one today?

Sound like a plan.
Don't understand why anyone would purchase the Exynos device. It's not like Exynos has a good track record, it's been problematic for many years. Yeah, some users haven't had any issues but let's be honest, you're rolling the dice on a very expensive smartphone. Even if your carrier can't provision all their call features for the most part you'll lose carrier aggression and 5G. More than happy to sacrifice those features for a problem free device. Class Action Lawsuit? Good luck with that, you might get a check at some point down the road for $20. The only people making out on that front are the lawyers!

Yes, I'm aware of that. You still have the warranty but it has to be sent to the retailer for repair. I've had a number of devices purchased from Hong Kong, Snapdragon variants which never needed any type of repair so that hasn't been a concern, I would buy another again without hesitation.

I'm buying Exynos, because only it's available here in Europe, and I get it with insurance from my carrier, so repairs won't bankrupt me .

Thanks for the advice. I wonder why we can't get the snapdragon manufactured in TSMC found now. It stinks. I guess if I make it until July, I will probably just hold out for the P7P and roll the dice with that one.

Its better. But read all the woes about 8 gen 1. Its made by Samsung lol. That's why it has problems also. Samsung are just average at making soc's.
Should get my dimensity redmi k50 pro soon. Looking forward to that than I ever did the s22 ultra. Was never excited about it. I had no faith lol. Unfortunately it turned out to be true. I'm sure they'll get it right one of these years

Be sure to get a good pair of gloves so your hands don't fry when the K50 Pro exceeds120 degrees fahrenheit. And while you're at it don't forget to buy a couple cans of Raid Aeresol since it's MIUI 13 skin is jam packed with hundreds of bugs!
I ordered an exynos version this week, several weeks delayed, I hope that by the time it is in my hands these issues will be resolved.
Exynos 12/256 here.
Never had any problems.

What's even funnier is when a cheap, half baked, Chinese device is compared to an actual topshelf flagship.
