[Q] where are the 64gb models - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I made up my mind to buy an n8000. Now I am searching hi and low for a 64gb model. Do you know where they are avail?
I tried Negri electronics and it says not available and the 32gb is now $150 more than the 16gb and on back order.
I tend to run out of memory on my devices and the 64gb option was very attractive for that reason.
thanks, rojen

There's a 32GB N-8000? I didn't think it existed. Do you have a link for it?

ah, but I see it is the n8010, not the n8000.
But Here is one I believe in 32GB: m-electronicsdeal com /new-samsung-galaxy-note-101-inch-n8000-3g-32gb-tablet-287-p.asp
Pls be aware that the specs do not match the add. The top says 32gb, the details say 16. The details also say 1gb ram, and 3mp rear camera. Either the top specs are off or the bottom. I wrote their customer service.
i wrote Samsung and asked what countries they sold the n8000 in with higher gigs. No reply yet.

The 64gb versions are like the Loch Ness monster, everyone's heard about it, a few have seen it but there's no real evidence it exists.....
The best I could find was the 32gb version of the N8000 in JB Hifi in Australia... They were selling for $800 at the time(October 12) but I got 2 for me and 1 for my brother... Haven't really seen them since.....
And yes, be careful, I found a lot of 32gb Note 10.1's on Ebay from good stores to find that they're selling 16gb versions with a 16gb sd card... Cheating to my way of thinking...

This might help not for sure:

Okay, to be honest, I am not sure it helps either. Seller has no certificates showing protection or safety. South Africa ? (No offense to S. Africans but I used to get all kinds of scam stuff from there.) - and has only been in existence for 2 months. Price is not too bad tho. There is a map of seller's location on the web site. It corresponds to a kiosk called Wang Thai (sounds like a restaurant) - close to a big statue. I sent them an email anyway and my security on Firefox popped up that it thought this site was a scam. - no warm fuzzies here -
Samsung got back to me. They recommended trying the UK. Been trying without much success. They also said warranty is only local, not international like a notebook. Something seriously wrong with an international company selling stuff all over the world, but only having local warranties. But all the *phones* are that way - including the non-phone tablets. This has caused me serious headaches in the past - yet here I go again, lol.
Samsung also said the number of GB's is built right on the motherboard - so no upgrade without swapping motherboards - and it could only be done in the country where you bought it in any event.
I can get a 64GB ipad - but I have been a long Samsung fan and want this. My wife has the Note and loves it. Sooner or later I will find it - I hope. r

Why Branded Memory Cards?

In the market, there are available some non-branded or say chinese memory cards which are cheaper than the branded ones.
So, is it safe for the device to use such cards?
Have you heard this brand - Butterfly (is this any brand or just chinese)
Thanks
Simple answer - marketing. All of them come from the same hole anyway. You can't find a decent product these days anymore. Everything is changing according to the dumb needs of consumer, not the smart engineer. Look what has happened to the cars for example...
never heard about it, and frankly, wouldn't try it. the price range of branded cards vs. unbranded cards is so minimal... it hardly makes any difference.
sometimes, unbranded cards have less memory than stated, they tend to get screwed up... and so forth.
Some folks have reported problems flashing ROMs from cheaper memory cards, and even from some brand ones. SanDisk seem the most likley ones to work from what I've read so far - but then again a cheap one may work fine for you...
Just my 2p's worth
Dave
My own experience? files in cheaper memory cards tend to get corrupted easily (take note that sometimes they are marketed under a well known brand but we tend to refer to them as Class A). It has happened to me twice losing important data. I would recommend that you buy branded memory cards instead of those cheaper unbranded ones to protect your data. Believe me, the extra cost is worth it.
the problem is, that in unbranded cards, the wafer used for flash memory isn't exactly made of quality materials. transistors or capacitors which hold the information have to be stable in order to keep the data secure. leaks... are common when the substances suck
yip, the price difference between branded and un branded is just not worth the hassle. It only becomes a problem when your card refuses to work and you need to restore a backup or something similar yeah? FK it and spend another 2 or 3 pounds in my opinion
ps Dave is right in that my card that had some problems stopped me flashing my polaris... bunged a new good card and voila....
btw, buying an unbranded card might have you buy 2 cards.. unbranded.. and then branded. so follow timmy.
as they say... smart people learn from other's mistakes.
apparently timmy's not so bright. I think it's because the blood supply to his brain is somewhat slow
(or maybe it's just me being jealous cause timmy's already got his HD after the polaris and i'm still with a diamond)

SeanDisk? That's why it was a bad card.
Seriously though, I've heard of lots of fakes.. Wrong capacity (ie: 1G not 4G), very slow, then the harder to immediately see problems of not being a robust card or lasting very long.
Personally a few bucks difference, it's worth it to buy a card you can trust.

[Q] SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC - Amazon Reduced Price?

Hi
Ive had my HTC Sensation (XE Beats) for about a month now - and absolutely love it. I've dropped my iPod and now use my phone as my mobile music player (the soundstage is great, and I use PowerAMP who's EQ is just superb!)... my iPod was a 30GB Video (from 2005?) - but I'm currently using the bundled MicroSD card which is 16GB (but only 11gb of that is available to use )...
I have looked at 32gb cards, and have read all the problems about getting fakes which are more like 3.2gb. But I've seen 64gb cards are now "available". And this is more attractive seeing as I was looking to buy a 64gb iPod touch anyway.
I put available in quotes there because... well they aren't exactly readily available (from UK stockists)... and even when they are - the delivery/dispatch dates are extremely vague - like that of Amazon.
Amazon are currently selling the SanDisk 64GB Mobile Ultra SDXC card for £99.99 - a good £65 off the RRP. IMO i think this is a reasonable price for such a new technology.
But the thing is... how can they sell these cards at such a low price? When even the smaller, less known brands such as Komputerbay are selling for more/a similar price?
And why the 1-2 month dispatch estimate? Only until a few weeks back the listing was 'Out of stock'....
How legit do you think this is? There are no reviews so I can't tell if you'd even get a card.... let alone how long you'd have to wait.
(Side note... it'd be great if you could post links to other stockists selling these hi-capacity cards!)

Well I sold off an iPad mini 64GB LTE that I got through a rewards program, thought I could live with it, but the screen is, well CRAP. So I sold it and those funds will pay for my GN10.1 tablet.
I have been holding out for a new phone for a while, okay a few weeks since I returned my GS4 (still have funds in the GS4 bounty to help others out) and as for the GG, yeah its a novelty, a pricey one at that, but I have 14 days to play with it and if I don't like it I return it to Verizon and get a full refund, no harm, no foul, no issues.
BUT, if I do like it I got it and off to the races I go.

It's funny that no one mentioned apps2sd during their reviews, but then again no one ever mentions usable storage space either, go figure and they call themselves reviewers.
I do suspect apps2sd will be on the GN3, its on the GS4 and that will only serve to add value and benefits for Samsung. I just wish it could move app data as well for the large games.

Not a super fan of best bu y but the final price that I pay will be the same as Att sells it for or amazon. 799 is just the estimate. Card gets charged when I pick up phone. I confirmed this with manager. Good looking out. So about the 4.2.2 thing.II'm sure it just an error on best buy side but I thought it was worthy of a post.

Verizon Galaxy S6 128GB- Out f Box SW From New Online Purchases?

Out of Box SW from new Verizon online purchases? (128gb)
I’ve done an extensive amount of searching, both here and elsewhere, I was hoping to be able to figure this out without a new thread but here goes …
I am interested in getting a 128gb S6, I am also interested in rooting. Obviously In order to root the build it needs to be OC3/OE2 out of the box. I’ve gone to a couple Verizon stores as part of my fact finding and for the 32/64gb versions they appear to all be about out of the OE2 (I found one for 64 but was not in a position to get it). Also per Verizon the 128gb version is delivery order only.
My question is for those here who have a 128gb version. Given that the out of box SW is dependent on when it was sent to Verizon, I’m interested to hear when folks bought / received theirs and what the SW was. My hope is that the 128gb trim has been slow selling and they have a lot of back-stock or Never ordered more units from Samsung. That hope is based on the idea that the level obviously sold poorly enough that Samsung declined to offer the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ with 128gb. Basically I’m trying to figure out what my chances at OE2 are if I order one.
Sorry for the long post and thank you.
-JasonVaritekMVP
Not sure how this is going to help you. You have no way of knowing until you get the unit. Anyone's past experience getting a 128gb is what they got when they got it. The longer you wait, the higher chance it will be updated.
Just go to the store and tell them that you want one with only those versions of software. The firmware version is on the box. Buying online will be hard and unpredictable.

I was in your same position a few weeks ago. I got a brand new 128gb thru Verizon's website praying it would be on OE2 but to my amazement it was only on OC3! I was so happy, lol.
I think your luck is good because the 128gb model is the least popular and most likely all the 128gb models are just sitting on shelves in some warehouse so in order for them to be updated an employee would have to go thru each one, one by one and download and install the OTA's, correct? So yeah, I think that would take a while and they would just let the customer do the OTA.
But like the other guy said the longer you wait the worse your chances are....
Btw for what it's worth mine got shipped from Memphis.

That is indeed my hope. And I place the order Wednesday, (Family plan, I don't get to make unilateral decisions on the account)
Also just for clarity I have inquired to the stores about 64gb, looks like at this point it's pretty much OF1 or late.

In case anyone else had a similar question to me about the firmware out of the box for a 128 gb s6 (gold). I got it in the mail today and it is OE2! I'm all rooted, titanium installed and blocking the OTA updates from harassing me

China Roms
Lets assume the links online from Giztop, Geekbuying, etc... are currently for Chinese Roms Only.
Do Global roms typically support different network bands than Chinese Roms?
I want to buy the Nubia ASAP, sites say it will ship in 20 days or so...Im comfortable rooting and installing google play services etc..
But im worried about network compatibility. The Chinese version supports the network bands I will be using..but would a global rom typically support more bands so I can travel and still use it anywhere....

I couldn't wait.. I ordered the 8gb model on giztop..
From what research I've done today It seems having the chinese rom on most fones is actually better.
Apparently there is more access to updates. I don't see any differences in things like network compatibility across the different rom versions.. Also discovered certain websites selling china fones often put their own modded version of the chinese roms onto the fone and label them as global roms, since some fones were never meant for other countries anyway.
Im comfortable with rooting if necessary to install google play services etc.. But I don't think I'll have to root this to do that.
Anyways.. Can't wait to get it... I was on the fence with the magic 2 & mix 3 until I saw this one a few days ago. Im definitely going to have the coolest fone around lol!
Be careful with china roms. In oppo, there are 2 china versions, regular and with t versions. Those are aside from international version. So 3 versions total. Only regular china roms get updates/upgrades.
Can't wait to get this phone too. Hopefully developers make custom roms tha will make both screens work even smoother than stock os.

It really comes down to the bands listed on the box. For Canada, you need LTE band 4 and 7 for it to work with the major 3. I think I going to order from Giztop too because Aliexpress is being a b|tch and keep asking me to send in photo of my credit card to verify after I switched cards.

Just a heads up, Visa Fraud dept called me a few hours after my payment to Giztop. All good, they seem to have anything from China flagged.
Also, my credit & debit cards would not work on Geekbuying, but they have a lower price than giztop by about $20.

Needless scrutiny on the credit card company side. I used my HSBC card so they know that I'm not sheltered assuming I only buy within North America. Had to cancel my Capital One Costco card recently because they were being stupid and prevented a $1USD authorization "for my protection". That was the card linked to Aliexpress account and now I got a new can of worms of "need verification" bull crap I have to deal with. Since I ordered from Giztop, I think I may just delete the Aliexpress account. Life's too short to be hassled by companies who are only out to protect themselves by storing my information on their servers and making me prove that I am who I am.
Can't wait to get the phone. Pretty sure the 2nd screen is a gimmick but still cool none the less.

Oh For sure the 2nd screen is a gimmick. It only has a 720p resolution. I dont take selfies ever unless with a group of friends or something, I think it will be cool to get the quality from the rear camera and see what you're doing, but then view the quality on the main screen.
I was set on a full screen phone and really like this design...i think it will look pretty fancy. I love the idea of having the back screen showing a clock, notifications, or that little fish thing they're advertising.
When do you think it will actually ship though? Giztop site has said "shipping in 7-10 days" all week, which leads me to believe they dont have an accurate date.

I'm thinking it should ship for next week since it was released this week in the Chinese market. I always wanted a truly bezeless phone and still rocking the original Mi Mix but Xiaomi really dropped the ball hard since then. If the Nubia X wasn't announced, I would have gotten the Nubia z18 since it doesn't have any side bezels.
Any idea about google play services support? If it comes with it or it's possible to get it I might get myself an early Christmas present

https://www.geekbuying.com/item/Nubia-X-6-26-Inch-8GB-128GB-Smartphone-Gray-408074.html
Additional Features:4G, WIFI, GPS, Bluetooth,Gesture Sensing,Smart Wake, Ebook, Email,Messaging, wallpapers, calendar, calculator, clock, camera, tethering & portable hotspot, Touch ID, Google Play Store, fast charge,Type-C, etc
I dont know why, but GeekBuying shows Google Play Store under Additional Features.
I am expecting this phone to come without Google services, but it seems quite simple to install yourself...just like downloading any other APK's.
Im slightly worried it may need to be rooted to install google..with this being brand new not sure if ill figure out how to root this one..
but if you look around theres a lot of videos on other Nubia phones not requiring root for this.
So im hoping Everything will go smoothly.
Apparently unlocking the bootloader of the Nubia phones is quite simple, only one command through CMD and that's it, bit like oneplus unlocking which is neat I hope there will be TWRP support soon enough(the Z18 isn't listed on the TWRP site even though it's already released).

Also, someone mentioned liaow. Is it a trustworthy website and reliable? If the customer service is as good as someone mentioned here earlier I might just order it from them, works out about €70 more than the other site(either giztop or geekbuying, cant remember which now).
