I'm wondering if I have to flash a specific Kernel before flashing custom roms ( CM specifically ). My device is P3110 running stock 4.1.2 . Any help will be much appreciated, thanks guys.
Edit: Does flashing the CM Rom zip file flash the newest CM kernel or should I flash it manually?

You never want to flash a kernel before flashing a rom because the rom will over write the kernel when it installs its own. If you want a custom kernel flash it right after flashing the rom.
All roms come with their own kernel.
Sent from your phone. You should be careful where you leave that thing.
Thanks

That's exactly what I needed to know, I have another android device ( Xperia mini pro ) and every time I need to install a custom rom, I have to flash its kernel first. Here it seems like flashing the rom via recovery also flashes the kernel. Thanks for the help appreciated.

The CM zip file has everything it needs. You just need to have a recovery ROM to be able to install CM from recovery. Additionally, you might want to reset various things from recovery before installing CM. Notice that if you reset the internal sdcard you will lose all your data (which might or might not be what you want).

I didnt find a .zip stock kernel for stock LRX210 and I want to know how to go back to kernel. I can flash .img but if its going to erase my data I would prefer a .zip to flash in recovery, thanks!

I've been using Temasek's UNOFFICIAL Build, for his last 3 build updates with TYR kernel. I decided I wanted to try out AK, or Render Kernel with Tamasek. Flashed new UKM update from AK, flashed new kernel. Restarted the phone and it constantly reboots on One+ logo. Never loads boot animation. Decided to fully wipe the phone, including system and reflash Tamesek. Then tried flashing AK. Same problem. Tried full wiping again and flashing a different rom and AK kernel or Render kernel and same issue. Reflashed TYR kernel and it works perfectly fine.
I have no idea what's going on. But, I don't want to be stuck using only 1 kernel. Any ideas?

Better ask your question in AK or Temasek thread
A friend of mine is having touch issues with his opo! It's unresponsive sometimes! He is on stock unrooted 05q. Will flashing a custom kernel help?
If yes please suggest a good one

I tried this, I now tried 3 different roms. SlimSaber unnofficial, Robbie's CM12, and Euphoria and all of them do now allow me to flash AK kernel or any other kernel. I think something borked on one of TYR's kernel flashes. May I should reset the phone completely. Is there an option to do this with ODIN that someone can point me into?

Right, just wiped/restored my phone to stock/factory all the way back to CM11S30R. Unlocked bootloader, rerooted, upgraded firmware and reflashed Euphoria and still can't flash AK without bootloopingon the ONE+ logo. I then clean wiped, and flashed Euphoria and same issue. I am at a loss, I have no idea what else to do.

No need to flash back to 30R
I'd flash the 05Q stock using fastboot
That comes with latest modem etc
Then if you'd like flash custom rom in recovery
Unlock bootloader?? Did you lock it after unlocking it?
What version of recovery are you using?

I am using TWRP 2.8.5.1.. I just figured I'd redo everything from scratch. Nothing is working. I can only flash TYR with all the roms I've tried, where it successfully boots. I'm also flashing UKM 3.8.1.

Just flash it. Don't do any wipes. You never lose data flashing a kernel.
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
Am fairly sure that in the flash instructions of your chosen kernel it says to "dirty flash ROM" before flashing g kernel. Dirty flash won't or rather shouldn't wipe data. I've done it in past with no problems. Follow OP instructions and you'll be just fine and keep all your data.
Is it okay to flash a custom kernel on stock?

So long as its a compatible one yes its fine. Look in the dev. Sections and look at op of some kernels. Will tell you what they work on and how to flash. As your on stock ROM remember to make a backup and find and download stock kernel as if you want to change between kernels you'll need to flash the stock version before you flash new kernel.
Good luck.
