Custom watch face - Wear OS General

Please let me know if I'm in the wrong section.
] I'm looking for someone who wants to develop a custom watch face for me. I have a moto 360 v2, but I am disappointed by the options available on google play. I have certain features that I want in a watch face, and while I can find all of them individually in different faces, I have yet to find all of them together. I don't actually care what the watch looks like, so long as I can get all the features I want in one face. I am obviously willing to pay a reasonable price for this service.
Features I am looking for :
Semi - circles around the watch face showing calendar events. I'd like to see multiple, overlapping calendars using Google calendar colours. I currently have bought several faces with semi circles displaying calendar events, but none of them show more than one event at a time and none of them show more than one colour, I frequently have overlapping events, and I want to see them at a glance and I want to see them in their proper colours.
4 dials around a digital time in the centre.
I'd like very very slender clock hands showing analog time, but I need to be able to see precise digital time at a glance. I'd like the digital time to be tap-able, so that tapping it brings up my agenda app.
The top dial should display the day and date, and when tapped, bring up any random app of choice (I want shazzam)
The left dial should show the current temperature and when tapped, bring up the next week's forecast.
The right dial should show steps taken, and when tapped open up google fit.
The bottom dial should show both the watch and phone battery status, and when tapped open up settings.
If this sounds like a viable watch face to you and you have the skills to create it, please contact me.
Thank you very much
Kyla

Watchmaker Premium is a fine program that I have been using to create my own watch faces.
It is easy to use and does the job properly, and most definitely worth the $3.99
I am not in any way affiliated with it's creators, just a happy user
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.watchFrenzy.premium

I used watchmaker free, and was too limited, is the premium one capable of giving me what I described?

List your favorite Gear 2 Apps, and why! :)

wanted to start a list of favorite gear apps. i have found several that are pretty awesome and would like to share my list and experiences. i invite all to do likewise! :good:
* Battery Gear : very simple app, just shows phone battery as a single icon. i like it, havent tried other similar apps however.
* Flesky messenger: amazing; turns the watch into nearly a full blown phone! keyboard is very intuitive.
* LaunchGear : neat app that can launch phone apps from the gear. its free, you populate the list of the apps you want to be able to launch. very easy operation and interface
* wrist list : what it sounds like; a shopping list for the gear. add items to the phone, its on the gear. app is ok, you can only add or delete; doesnt seem like you can make a "constant" list and add what you need from the main list to your current shopping list
Flashlight ++ : app is fine. just picks a color (of your choice) and makes the screen that color.
* car finder for gear: neat app. set a waypoint in a parking lot, when you look for your car you get a tiny submarine style radar with a car icon indicating the direction and a distance to the waypoint. fairly accurate.
i have a pile of others, but i have not tested many of them, and some are basic or games, like tick tack toe, fairly self explanatory there. lol.
so what do you have and why! what makes that app cool or lame!
Instant Settings - its free. you can change the settings on your phone from your watch. can leave the phone in my pocket more.
Smart IR Remote Lite - free - multi media remote for your watch. better then Watch on. more buttons. havent played with it too much, but so far so good.
Wrist List is kinda cool. You use your phone to make a grocery list and you can delete things off the list on your watch as you buy them. Also has an account sync feature, allowing other people in your family or house to add or remove things with their phones even with no watch. I bought the Toggles app because it has the wifi-hotspot toggle that the stock settings app didnt have. The Get Up! Alarm app is nice when you have to get up and are worried about waking up your significant other, It vibrates to wake you up and gives you the option to swipe down, walk, or run, in order to turn the alarm off.
JusWrite
Was looking for a Note/list app, but which can handle longer texts. This one is the best. The only 2 problems it has, is not be able to check items from the watch. And second no formatting of text possible through the main app. New lines are not handled correctly. But ALL apps does this wrong, while the solution is simple. Just add
and a new line break is added. Add and the text become bold.
AppLauncher
Quick, and sorting apps to launch on the phone. Use this for Tasker.
Wearable Widget
Any widget from the phone on your watch.
Multi Watch
Popular.
Alarm
Multiple alarms locally.
Navigation Clock
Integrated with Google Maps Navigation on my watch. Just miss a vibration when a turn comes up.
Flesky messenger.. Nothing needed to add

Gear Watchface Designer - What watchfaces have you or are you creating?

This thread is for designers to share their watchfaces created with the Gear Watchface Designer. Below are images of my first attempt with GWD called GlowingSportWatch.

First Attempt
I would post the very simple combination analogue/digital watch face that I'm currently using but I'm new here and can't post image links. Oh well.
I'm now working on a black watch face with spotlights that act as the hour and minute hands revealing the watch face as it goes. Probably works better in my head than in reality but it'll be different if nothing else.
If I can find the right images somewhere I might also try a background with a picture of the earth that rotates in sync with the time, or maybe one where you see the sun rise and set followed by the moon doing the same. So many possibilities...
Are these available for download?
My First Attempt with GearWatchDesigner
Here is a screen shot of my first attempt with using Gear Watch Designer. Just trying multiple features at the same time. Also fun to finally have control over the sequence of layers and the ability to stack graphic layers in-between other layers.
The design incorporates
6 Digital clock items:
Hour, Minute, Second stacked on left side. Day, Month, Date stacked on right side
5 Analog clock items
the three outside comets are analog hands for hour, minute, second as they move around the face.
And there are two other graphics of twinkling stars that move, one clockwise and the other counter-clockwise as "Second Hands" (counter-clockwise movement is really cool)
Plus two complications: Steps count at the top, and a Battery level graphic at the bottom.
As a newbie, I cannot post a link to the picture, but you should be able to decipher this.

I really don't see the theme here, you got an image of the visible universe in the background in a realistic style, but then you have those abstract streaks on the edges as clock hands, what are they supposed to be? why are they hanging around at the moment of the big bang? And then you have the minimalist numbers in the center, which again, thematically clash with the background. Plus you have the step count up there, which doesn't make sense for a space themed watch face, I mean who counts steps in space? The same can be said of the battery meter, it's usually only there for like utility themed watch faces because usually there's no reason to be worrying about the battery, unless you want a utility look to it.

Oops, sorry I failed to explain the reason for this. Not intended for anyone to actually use. Just a demo of the multiple capabilities of this as watch face design software. I am participating on a Google Community board about all things associated with Gear S and Gear S2, including watch faces. A lot of discussion about different development tools including Mr. Time Maker and Photo Watch Pro. Discussion about what these have, and what they don't offer.
Gear Watch Designer has most of the features people have asked for. So I put together this watch face to demo the ability to use digital, analog, animation, and complications.
Reminds me of the days when I put together plastic model cars from kits and the package included a sheet of decals which had flames, stripes, numbers, and other things. I once thought I was supposed to use all the decals, and I covered that car. LOL, what a mess!

I have avoided Error 78 by not using the command line "sbd install..." command. Instead I use the Run On Device command to install on my watch from the GWD software.
This is the one I made, It's both digital and analog, I intended it to be just for private use but if you guys like it I can try and upload it to the appstore.
Two so far. Just started last night

I spent some hours today creating a smart-replica of me beloved tradiciinal watch. I am not going to publish in it the store because of problably copyright infringements...

Hi all,
I'm a player of Ingress and I've made a watchFace themed on resistance color.
For those how knows Ingress, the resonators disappears with battery drain.
The portal is a shortcut to batterie status and the day send you ton the calendar.
What do you think about?
Here's a few I've done with both live and ambient modes. As you can see, I've managed a fairly dynamic ambient mode with several. I won't be uploading these to the store as they do not contain enough original content (the first one is a direct copy of Clay: Epoch which is just not available in the Gear store for me otherwise I would buy it). The second is taken from watchawear (called Opulence) and reconfigured for the Gear S2. A couple are more original, but even the logo I'm using wasn't mine (from Partickss at freekpik).
One thing I am struggling with is creating action buttons. I can create them and edit them by adding a battery complication and deleting images and using the action button to do something different (for example on most of mine, tapping the date triggers my schedule), but can't figure out how to do it by just converting an image to an action button. Any idea?
My new Watchface for Gear S2, i'm waiting to post on SamsungGearApps Store:

My Latest Watch Face and Problem
My latest project is running into a bit of a problem. As you can see from my testing screen shot, the text is all rotated. It appears that there is a bug with rotated text that is tied to data synchronization (heart rate, battery level, steps taken). I can rotate this text, build the project and test the project. However when I load to my watch, these three fields are no longer rotated. Also, if I quit GWD and later return to this project, these fields show no rotation.
Yes, I am saving my project. Yes, I am testing my project. Yes, the build is using the updated and saved project with the fields rotated. Just does not stick. However, the rotation of digital clock fields works just fine.
I have reported this problem on the Samsung designer forum.
What it should look like:
What appears on my watch:
faze Rotator
My first watch face (you can get it in the Samsung Gear Store for free)

Gear Watch Designer - Cool!!

Just tried this and, while there are some tricks, it works pretty good. I know have a watch face with just about everything I want on it that looks like I want it to look. Took some experimentation but that was fun. If you know what you want and can't find it anywhere else, give this a try. And I still haven't figured out all it can do. Working on that.
Just designed a watch face that shows an analog between 0500 and 1000 then a digital for the night. Day shows battery %, day/date, and steps. Lots of fun!
AND!! Here's Here's how I got the Layer effect - two watchfaces for different times of the day - using GWD. Tricky but not hard:
- Select a Background from the menu on the left. It appears in the work area.
- Select the one entry you have under Timeline in the bottom left of the space showing your Backgrounds. Then go to Properties in the upper right and rename it Layer 1. Not necessary but I found this easier to work with. Everything you put on this layer will appear above this label.
- Select what components you want on this layer. I wanted a Night and Day face so I use Layer 1 as my night and put a digital face on it. Add complications as needed. They will all appear above the Layer 1 label on your Timeline block on the lower left. When done you will select the time frame they will NOT be visible. For me that's from 6 am to 10 pm.
- To highlight the chosen INVISIBLE times, select a start time from the light grey area on right. Say I want my digital watch to NOT show from 6 am - 10 pm (time shows in the scale on top of the grey area). - -- Put your cursor over the 6am block on any of the visible lines and hold the left button on your mouse down. Scroll around to select the time you want Layer 1 to be invisible. They will appear in green when selected. Now hold the right button down over one of the green squares and select Remove from the menu. This is tricky because the program doesn't always work right. You may need to try several times to get it the way you want it. Play with it. This will Remove that time frame from when this particular face will be visible. You can move the veritcle line on the Timeline around to make your face viable. Now start your second layer.
- Select another Background and label it Layer 2. It will appear over Layer 1 and hide what you have place on there but there will be a white outline for the items you've put on layer one, so keep that in mind. - Now put your desired items on this face as you did Layer 1. I chose an analog face.
- Once you've done that select the time this face will be INVISIBLE as you did Layer 1. I wanted this to be invisible during the times Layer 1 WAS visible so I selected 10 pm - 6 am and Removed that.
Another thing you can do is use the same background for each layer. Simply do NOT select the Layer 1 label on the timeline and it will appear all the time. Only the components will change.
- When this is done test it using the Run button on the task bar at the top of the screen. This brings up a test area that shows your face. Under Condition there is a sliding time adjustment so you can see what appears as what times. Use this to make sure everything shows when it should according to time.
- Satisfied? The build your face using the Build button on the task bar (2 down from Run), save, and you are good to go.
The program will ask you if you want to Save or get a certificate and such. I you don't want to put it on the Market don't worry about it. You can now load directly from the program to your watch. Or you can upload it to the Market to sell or share.
Enjoy! Any questions just give me a shout.

Great idea! While it's mostly pretty intuitive I did struggle on some of the things I wanted to do.
I once made a cool complicated animation, with many objects appearing and disappearing during the different time periods and battery levels.
But it was so big, that editing it was going extra slow....
I guess, for more complicated watch faces, GWD is not enough. For some crazy animated, complicated watch faces the native app is better.

No idea. It's my first time doing any of this. All I wanted was a couple of useful watch faces and I got that. I think anything more complicated will have to wait a bit in my case.

What I'd like!

I don't use my watch for everything. For example, navigation. Just alot easier to pull my phone out and look. Same with photos. Screens too small anyway. But I'd LOVE to see S-Health put up a real weight lifting or rowing widget! Something that will accurately count reps instead of just time your effort. Thats nothing! I can already time it! What I would use is a rep counter!
Or how about something like Google Reminders? Something where I can set a reminder separate from my calendar by voice from my watch. Pebble has a couple apps that do that! If Pebble can why can't my S2? I have S-Voice but, frankly, that doesn't do the job.
Anyone else have a wish list?
Maybe the next update will help. According to this thread it will add the following (translated from the Turkish; I don't know what "sauce desires" are either):
1. Running, Walking, Biking Repetition detection: Squat, Move, Shuttle, X-shaped bounce Speed ??coaching Running Snooze tutorial: Stay tuned up for 2 hours.
2. Upgraded Gear software Increased activity detection: Exercise bike, Rowing machine, Dynamic training Automatic pause and resume Improved rotating bezel interface Incoming call, Alarm, Scheduler and Program control
3. Added new messaging options Handwritten Text recognition (supports Korean, English, Chinese) Record and send voicemail Create picture message banner More emoji
4. optimized widget Lar Multi-user widget Weather widget Includes life index information Scoreboard and Mirrors widget Added 3rd party widget support
5. Added position-tracking feature for sauce desires
6. New preloaded clock from Gear S3
7. Support new applications: Reminder and Six-Barometer (Download from Galaxy Apps)
8. Support new game applications including Monster Vampire (Download from Galaxy Apps)

Quick Tiles have been developed and have just gone live in 0.12.alpha.
Voice activation is a different story. There is Google Now and Google Assistant to take advantage of. First one can only use their commands ("set an alarm" etc but not really anything related to our app. No "turn on the lights".) The latter has actions that make sense but it is only in a conversation. (Turn on the light, do you want to turn on the light?, What room? Living-room, etc.). It is quicker to buy a button and get it even installed. So, we need a better alternative like Google Assistant Direct Actions. This is not available without signup (yes, I did signup but no response yet). This is for home automation and suits me fine. It is just the wait until Google's response.
wow 7,50 €lol...hell na
i rather use 4 free apps, that do exactly the same ...even so u might have one or two feature ...i wouldn't recommend anybody to buy this DLC app haha
I bought the app to support the developer, all the upcoming features sound like a dream come true to me. I also like the slick look of the graphics, so thanks a lot and keep up to good work. To anybody else reading this, go ahead and buy this app, it's nice and handy and the upcoming features are even more awesome. Just skip a lunch and starbucks, cheap bastards.
Please, widgets!
I just bought the app, and I'm excited about the features, but I am curious about the quick tiles. When I tap on a tile, it just sends me into the configuration screen without toggling the settings of my lights at all. How do I use these to quickly change the settings of my lights? What am I missing?
I have also noticed that my lights will remain stuck on an effect, even if I have tried to change the bulb status via another method (Alexa, or the button on the back of the Hue Go, for examples).

Thank you for your positive response. At the moment I am working on bug fixes mainly. I expect that most errors have been dealt with for now. Next features I am working on are the schedules, rules, sensors. These should come through in one of the next releases. Some parts are quite far by now. Main issue is lack of time due to school! Soon it is holidays again and frees up time.
For those who have reported "unknown lights" in the section "all lights", I never knew how many lights Hue Essentials would pick up. I have a hard time finding those lights myself in shops and on the internet. Bought some of those IKEA, Osram, etc, for testing, but must say that Hue lights from Philips are best of them all. Just too bad the Hue lights are so expensive. IKEA lights could do with a real improvement...
Many people joined the translation program through the app. Really wonderful to see all those languages coming through! Thanks for all your support!

Have you configured the tile in those settings? If so, it could be a bug that needs to be fixed. Let me know the details of your tile action and type of device.
If you start the effect through Hue Essentials and try to stop it through another method, like Alexa, it will not stop. Effects are played locally and not running on the bridge. Note that this may change in the future releases of the app. You need to stop the effect through the buttons in the app/notification.

Yes, I get the message. Widgets are on the wishlist (I do not know if this is the same as Santa's list but perhaps we get it before Christmas). For now I first need to complete another request; IKEA TRADFRI Gateway will be integrated as another bridge in one of the next releases.
Is there also a functionallity to add custom actions to the hue dimmers for every button, a bit the same as iconnecthue voor ios?

We love iConnectHue as that developer has shown what Hue can do! Surely, we still need to work on the sensors (smart controls). Our idea is to create extra functionality. There is just a bit too much on the wish-list. First, I am adding IKEA gateway to one of the next releases. Next is scenes and more effects, maybe we will have a look at entertainment at the same time. Widgets are on the list.
Room/Group Colours?
Maybe I'm missing something but I see that I can apply the same brightness level, scenes, and effects to all the lights in a room but I can't see how to set all lights in a room to the same colour without going into each individual light setting...?
Thanks!

So I need to purchase "mehrere Brücken" for tradfri? I've already purchased premium.

Good point. Applying the same colour to a group will be added!

The IKEA Trådfri is still under development and not released yet. I think it takes a few more weeks. Still sorting out some bugs
Once it is included in Hue Essentials:
It depends on what you want. If you only want to use the Trådfri gateway, you can just delete your old bridge and then scan for the gateway. If you want to use Trådfri and Hue at the same time, then you would need multiple bridges.
