Possiblity of adding Quick tiles support and voice?

Quick Tiles have been developed and have just gone live in 0.12.alpha.
Voice activation is a different story. There is Google Now and Google Assistant to take advantage of. First one can only use their commands ("set an alarm" etc but not really anything related to our app. No "turn on the lights".) The latter has actions that make sense but it is only in a conversation. (Turn on the light, do you want to turn on the light?, What room? Living-room, etc.). It is quicker to buy a button and get it even installed. So, we need a better alternative like Google Assistant Direct Actions. This is not available without signup (yes, I did signup but no response yet). This is for home automation and suits me fine. It is just the wait until Google's response.

wow 7,50 €lol...hell na
i rather use 4 free apps, that do exactly the same ...even so u might have one or two feature ...i wouldn't recommend anybody to buy this DLC app haha

I bought the app to support the developer, all the upcoming features sound like a dream come true to me. I also like the slick look of the graphics, so thanks a lot and keep up to good work. To anybody else reading this, go ahead and buy this app, it's nice and handy and the upcoming features are even more awesome. Just skip a lunch and starbucks, cheap bastards.

Please, widgets!

I just bought the app, and I'm excited about the features, but I am curious about the quick tiles. When I tap on a tile, it just sends me into the configuration screen without toggling the settings of my lights at all. How do I use these to quickly change the settings of my lights? What am I missing?
I have also noticed that my lights will remain stuck on an effect, even if I have tried to change the bulb status via another method (Alexa, or the button on the back of the Hue Go, for examples).

Thank you for your positive response. At the moment I am working on bug fixes mainly. I expect that most errors have been dealt with for now. Next features I am working on are the schedules, rules, sensors. These should come through in one of the next releases. Some parts are quite far by now. Main issue is lack of time due to school! Soon it is holidays again and frees up time.
For those who have reported "unknown lights" in the section "all lights", I never knew how many lights Hue Essentials would pick up. I have a hard time finding those lights myself in shops and on the internet. Bought some of those IKEA, Osram, etc, for testing, but must say that Hue lights from Philips are best of them all. Just too bad the Hue lights are so expensive. IKEA lights could do with a real improvement...
Many people joined the translation program through the app. Really wonderful to see all those languages coming through! Thanks for all your support!

Have you configured the tile in those settings? If so, it could be a bug that needs to be fixed. Let me know the details of your tile action and type of device.
If you start the effect through Hue Essentials and try to stop it through another method, like Alexa, it will not stop. Effects are played locally and not running on the bridge. Note that this may change in the future releases of the app. You need to stop the effect through the buttons in the app/notification.

what we need is a very good and comfortable home screen widget. didnt find any good out there.

Yes, I get the message. Widgets are on the wishlist (I do not know if this is the same as Santa's list but perhaps we get it before Christmas). For now I first need to complete another request; IKEA TRADFRI Gateway will be integrated as another bridge in one of the next releases.

Is there also a functionallity to add custom actions to the hue dimmers for every button, a bit the same as iconnecthue voor ios?

We love iConnectHue as that developer has shown what Hue can do! Surely, we still need to work on the sensors (smart controls). Our idea is to create extra functionality. There is just a bit too much on the wish-list. First, I am adding IKEA gateway to one of the next releases. Next is scenes and more effects, maybe we will have a look at entertainment at the same time. Widgets are on the list.

Room/Group Colours?
Maybe I'm missing something but I see that I can apply the same brightness level, scenes, and effects to all the lights in a room but I can't see how to set all lights in a room to the same colour without going into each individual light setting...?
Thanks!

The IKEA Trådfri is still under development and not released yet. I think it takes a few more weeks. Still sorting out some bugs
Once it is included in Hue Essentials:
It depends on what you want. If you only want to use the Trådfri gateway, you can just delete your old bridge and then scan for the gateway. If you want to use Trådfri and Hue at the same time, then you would need multiple bridges.

[UTIL][Version 1.1 Beta]TouchWatch (Touch designed timer application)[ONLINE]

Hi,
I want to contribute my first application written in VS2005 VB.NET Compact Framework.
.NET Compact Framework must be installed on your device. Application needs around 700kb of memory.
This is a simple timer application with four configurable countdown timers. Set an description and a time (hh:mm:ss) and stop/start/reset timer with your fingers only. No need to use the stylus pen.
Touch the timer ones will start it. Touch it twice will stop it. Tap&Hold the timer will reset it. Needs no more explanation. The app is self explaining.
You can change the background image
You can change the audio wave notification file
You will get an vibrating response from your device on start/stop/reset timer
If a timer is running your device will not enter standby/sleep until all running timers count zero (configurable). If you want to use a long timer be aware of battery usage. Be sure that your backlight switches off after some time. If your device switch off for any reason, you will not be notified that a timer count zero. The application isn't able to switch your device on.
Settings are stored in registry "HKLM\Software\M_G\TouchWatch" and all configurable from the application.
THIS IS A BETA RELEASE FOR TESTING...QVGA ONLY...NO LANDSCAPE MODE...
Installation: Just copy the .cab to your device and execute it. You will find an icon in the start menu.
Version history:
v1.1b: -edit timer window now opens with buttons instead with the menu.
-added vibrate response features
v1.0b: first release (beta)
TODO:
Add stopwatch functionality
Use gestures to reset and edit timer
D-Pad support (maybe)
Landscape support (maybe)
Source code
You will find the source code of the project as attachment. You are allowed to enhance this or use this as example or whatever.
Support me with a donation for future developments
Thank you!
New version is released!
Check out the version 2 of Touchwatch here:

Have fun.
GREAT
nice to hear that its ur 1st application.....any ways i will test it and let u know further....thanks in advance
hello,
nice app! can i make a suggestion ?
it would be great if you could add d-pad control! since then we could use this app on non-touchscreen devices (smartphones) also.
thank you in advance!
Hi lopez1_de
Very nice program, been looking for something like this, but havn't found anything quite as nice as this.
Keep up the good work
Flemming
That is exactly what I was looking for for workouts in the gym.
Good work, lopez1_de!!!
Suggestions:
- Typo in options menu: should be "off", not "of"
- Some feedback when you start a timer would be nice, so you don't have to watch the seconds in order to see if it's running. Maybe a short vibrate or the timer's panel flashing.
- Maybe a left-right sweep across a timre's panel yould open that timer's configuration screen?
Thanks for that program.
Cheers,
nc
Good application, but I wish to have it without new .NET! .NET is slow and use my memory very much!
thanks
Thank you all for suggestions and ideas. Nice to hear that you like it. I will try to implement the following things into the next version:
Feedback on start/stop/reset
Config button for each timer
bye
EDIT: In the moment I have no ideas how to implement d-pad control.
Please test the new version 1.1b of TouchWatch.
Have a nice day... (it's sunny in germany)

Yes, I know about it. But I'm only a hobby programmer. I'm not able to write C code.
But the speed of the timer on my Elf is perfect. The only little problem is that the application uses ~840kb of memory while running.
V1.1 is near perfection in my mind. Wonderful little app.
I've been searching for these exact features for a while now.
Thanks a lot!

Hi, I tried your app, thanks very much: very usefull!!!!
Excellent work.
This is now the prgogram i use when I time the breaks in between sets when i work out.
On my screen everything except the timers' digits and the icon for the timers' configs is black.
I'm pretty sure it's due to my extensive Wm6 customization, though, so it's not a bug. I guess your program uses wm5/6s BaseHue color derivation to paint itself?
Would you mind sharing your source code? Maybe I can help cut down on memory usage?
I have no experience programming C#, though, but I have done quite a lot of Java, and I recently got hold of Visual Studio 2005 Pro to start mobile development.
Ignore the transparent top bar, that is also due to my customization.
Cheers,
nc

Hi.
PDA customizing. A never ending story...
To paint the graphics I had to override the OnPaint event. The lines and timer text are drawn correct. The bitmap should be visible also. Maybe you have selected an incorrect path to the file or maybe you selected another image format than .BMP.
The code is very basic. No big problem to code something like this for a hobby programmer. I use a variable which holds the seconds...then there is a timer control which ticks every second and increment the variable. Then convert the seconds to a time string and display it on the screen. Now capture OnClick events and get the X,Y coords of the stylus to check where the user clicked at. Then I used OpenNetCF for the vibrate features. Thats it.
Nice program, would be even nicer if you could ad a stopwatch functionality also. So not just a countdown but also a count-up?
Keep up the good work!
Great app. Great for boiling eggs and what not..

Suggestions
Dan, thanks for starting the thread! Responsive Devs always get Donations
So, I was blown away to find InvisiBright. I've been using the Curvefish widget (just like, oh, everybody) and a year ago I thought it was hands-down the best. Not any more.
I was searching for something that might be integrated into the Notification Bar. Basically, just pull down the Notification Bar and there's the exact same things from the Curvefish widget; preset levels, toggle for AutoBrightness, and/or a slider.
Your app is a lot better than that. I stumbled across it from your DroidForums post.
Long Press Search should be a much more common feature, for tons of apps. Especially since it's just an option, easily changed, and SOO easy to code!
Good idea including it, and a pretty good Pro upgrade. Lite still works great, Pro is just a bit better.
Here are my suggestions, may or may not be good ideas, or even possible;
Semi-transparent (with user adjustable alpha) overlay on the (right) slider side, when changing the brightness level; then you can tell which part of the screen is Adjust, and which is Confirm
Sliding level indicator, (e.g. 3-px yellow line?) to go along with the Toast of percentage (user selected option, just like the "Show percentage" option)
Preset levels, preferably user-set; possibly snap the slider to the presets. Or maybe Far Right = Slider, Middle = Preset buttons, left = confirm
Shorter Toast duration after left-touching to set the level
Confirmation that the level has been set (but this might be addressed by the disappearing of the semi-transparent slider)
Vertical/horizontal slider option
Toggle for Auto Brightness EDIT: maybe "- Quick toggle back to auto-brightness with menu key" addresses this already... I haven't tried that Pro feature yet...

(All my info is in my sig)
By the way, you are in close competition with Brightness Rocker. It's a pretty clever alternate-use of the otherwise single purpose Vol Up/Down buttons. But you responded faster than Nikhil, and went to XDA, even! And you don't have the conflict with actually changing the Volume in order to adjust brightness. Maybe you could figure out how to intercept the Vol Up/Down keys as a different trigger, since some of us have Long Press Search mapped to Camera, Screenshot, QR Scan, etc.
Thanks again for showing interest in my app! Here's what I think:

These are all great ideas. They all slightly threaten the "invisibleness" of the overlay, but I don't see why they can't be options.

Does the XDA version hinge on only members having access to links posted? I'll consider this since I'd love to see the pro version gaining traction (whether or not I get the buck). Also, I'll try to open source it in about 1 month when the semester starts and my free time becomes non-existent
!!!
Wow! Correct answers on every single point!
A lot of XDA devs attach their .apk to a forum thread. I'm pretty sure you have to be a registered Member to download the file. Obviously, that's free and easy, but it's enough barrier that it keeps most of the riffraff out. Right off the top of my head, SetCPU is released like this, you could ask coolbho3000 about how well it works.
If/when you do Open Source it, you'll also need to have a slightly higher level for people to contribute, a $4 Donate app or something.
I can't promise that always works, but some of us will pay for good Devs to do good work.
Awesome app, works great on OG Droid running latest CM7.
Touch screen to launch...?
Other idea (I'm just throwing them out there, this one might be a lot of work)
SwipePad activates from a touch in a particular part of the screen (corner, side, etc.)
https://market.android.com/details?id=mobi.conduction.swipepad.android
Maybe InvisiBright could activate the same way; an option to press and hold for a second in the lower right to launch InvisiBright. In that case, some kind of visible feedback would be more necessary.
It might end up pretty similar to the popular SGS style bar
examples:
Port the Samsung Galaxy S notification bar brightness slider

Android Hidden Shortcut: Quickly Adjust Screen Brightness From Notification Bar (Galaxy S specifically, with video)
http://techx64.com/android-hidden-shortcut-quickly-adjust-screen-brightness-from-notification-bar/
I'm not trying to corrupt the "Invisi" nature of this fantastic app, I swear!
Notification Bar
I just noticed that you haven't overridden the Notification Bar when sliding the brightness. If my finger reaches the top of the screen and then slides back down, it will catch and pull down the Notif Bar, rather than lowering the brightness.
Not sure what the best way to address that would be...

There's a setting to adjust the buffers for touch mode. You can make the 100 percent spot far from the notification bar to avoid this issue (and your swipe will change the brightness slightly faster to compensate) . I remember adding these because I couldnt figure out how to override the notification bar without hiding it. I'll add it to my list and give it another go. Let me know if the buffers help.

I use swipepad and think the concept is great. I'll look into how it can be added, but for now you should be able to get a very similar effect with swipepad. Just grab the widget add-on and throw the InvisiBright pro widget onto your pad. I've never tried this, but I don't see why it wouldn't work....

BTW, can I change the key of making it start? Perhaps short tap on search button? Because the Google voice search is common feature for me rather then the Google search which I never use..

This maybe usefull for devices with a strange acting displays (ex. my Nexus some time) or devices with a small border.
BUT whats the benefit for my Transformer?
I mean i got a HUGE frame to hold it in tab only mode, and dock for watching movies and text stuff.

Thats something youll have to find for yourself...
Anything to report?
I have some suggestions.
It would be nice if it could switch between landscape and portrait mode. Because my bars are too small in portrait mode.
I had some problems with cropping the size of the blocked area. You might want to improve the area where you have to touch or give an indicator what exactly the user has to do.
I like the idea. However it would be cooler if would be intelligent like the XOOM 2. Which can tell the difference between a finger and the palm. Especially because I have all my icons on the side of the screen.
I already have something like it on the to do list!
How is it coming along? I find cant live without this app now

It's great when you have a 10 month old baby watching Elmo's World in the car who likes to grab the screen every 3 seconds and keep backing out of DICE player!
Thanks, enjoy! And keep the suggestions coming.
A new release is imminent!
1.0.2.8
New configuration interface
Split shake and notification controls
Fixed many minor bugs from the logs
1.1.3.5
Improved shake sensitivity
Added toast toggles
Reworked UI to be quicker
The only thing that drives me crazy is the system tray when I'm using an app or playing a game. I keep hitting that and the menu overlaps any controls I'm using on screen.
I think the system tray menu should be a long press to open. I'm hardly wanting to open it up often anyway.

[APP][2.2+]Assistive Zoom - One finger zoom control in any browser (ROOT) test needed

NOTE: This App is ROOT required
First time on Android device. This App allows you to send pinch to zoom in/out event on any window with JUST ONE FINGER. So when you are only one hand free, and want to zoom in a web page, Assistive Zoom can help you big time. Just hold on the floating zoom button of Assistive Zoom and move up/down to control the scale factor. This App works in any pinch to zoom enabled window or App.
Since this is my first release and due the the fragmentation of Android system, I am not sure it works on all kind of platforms. I have tested on my 2.2, 4.0, 4,1, 4.2 devices without a problem. So please help to test if it works on your device. If you experience any problem, please let me know. Also, any suggestion is welcome.
[Features]
☆ Works in any pinch to zoom enabled window
☆ Floating trigger button can be disabled/enabled at anytime
☆ Control scale ration at finest level
☆ 3 styles of trigger icon to choose from
☆ Customizable triggering and zooming options
☆ Works from Froyo (2.2) to latest Jelly Bean (4.2)

FAQ
(1) Why it doesn't work?
Ans: This App requires root to function properly. If you are greeted by message your device is not rooted upon launching the App first time, then you probably have an unrooted device.
(2) Why webpage scales unexpectedly?
Ans: Please enable alternative pinch action
(3) Why some text on a webpage is automatically selected after scale is finished?
Ans: Please disable alternative pinch action
Amazing. Never thought it was possible. Good job. It really comes in handy when i neesnit.
convenient. I think Button Savior can also have this button.
Very convenient! Although, I suggest that the icon for the zoom could look a bit more minimal and nice looking. Other than that, it's very good!

I will add more zoom button styles in later release. If you want minimal design, there is a style called Hilo in trigger icon style. Also, you can set lower transparency value in auto dim transparency setting to make zoom button even less obstructive looking.
Great app! but one question
is there any way to change position of zoom button vertically?
nice app....really handy

hi,
currently u cant move vertically. I am still finding a good way to do it. The problem is if zoom button is not centered vertically, user will get unequal distance in either vertical direction to triggernzoom action.

good to know no failed case for now. looks like my 2.2 to 4.2 handling is good.

If this is the main concern, then you will have same problem if you want to integrate this function in Button Savior.
Hi, new user to the forum and expecting my first tablet, Sony Xperia Tablet Z on Thursday.
I stumbled across this forum and thread while searching for Android apps that might be able to zoom in/out with one finger. I am a high level quadriplegic and use a capacitive mouthstick made by griffin for touchscreens since I cannot use my arms/hands/fingers. I am looking forward to seeing this app progress to the point that I can use it. Being new to tablets, I am not going to be comfortable rooting a brand new device that I have much to learn about, but maybe after a few weeks I'll be ready to experiment and help test this app.
I am just excited to see that someone is trying to develop such an app, so kudos to jerryfan2000!

yes, this feature would poses some challenges to me on Button Savior if I want to make it as easy and simple to use as it is right now on Assistive Zoom. So far, the best solution I figure out is to show a separate zoom button at middle of screen upon tapping on Zoom Button on Button Savior. So that would require user to press 2 times compared to 1 touch to zoom on Assistive Zoom.

It is glad to know it has potential to help you. Rooting is not as harsnor dangerous as you think. You still need to manually grant root permission to any App that requests root. And you can also unroot at any time if you need to send your device back for repair.

Welcome.
I think this would be great for use with mice or the S-pen, but I have 2 suggestions that would improve on it.
1: allow (homescreen) shortcuts to enable, disable, and toggle the service so it's easy to automate it with apps like tasker and GMD S-pen control.
2: undo dimming upon "mouse over"/hover for supported devices like a mouse, or Samsung airview(Note 2/8, S4)
this would make the icon easier to find if it's set to hide completely.
edit:I noticed a small problem that makes this app useless in some apps.
in opera mobile classic it only switches between zoomed out and standard(double tap) zoom states, nothing in between.
and in the image viewer built into FX File Explorer you can only switch between zoomed in completely, and zoomed out completely.
I just started testing the pro version, and find it to be a great app. It's particularly useful to me when operating my Note II with one hand.
My first suggestion is to enable faster zoom speeds.
Tis is a really great idea. I tried it for five minutes and then bought the Pro version.
Well done and very many thanks for a great app!

Hi,
Both suggestions are good Idea. I will take them. I don't have s pen device but I can try mouse over with my nexus 7. I am not sure is it possible to detect mouse over in Android but I will try.
For problem with opera and image view, you can try testing again with alternative pinch fix on or off. I will also try it on my phone. But if you have discontinuous zoom problem, alternative pinch action toggle is always the first to try.
mouse-over is definitely possible on android, many websites rely on this for their menu and those websites work fine in opera mobile classic if I use a stylus or mouse.
Photoshop touch, and many Samsung apps support it through airview.
and the xtralogic remote desktop app can track the mouse cursor so the remote cursor follows the android cursor.
and I did test the different zoom methods, but there was no difference.
particularly in FX it's annoying, because it's zoom levels are so far apart and it doesn't have double-tap zoom.
Nice app!!
This is a great app - I've been looking for something like this! Works well for my GSII on Android 4.1.2. I just saw that the Pro version allows to control whether or not the zoom is shown per app, so I'm going to have to give that a try. Ideally I'd just like to have the assistive zoom for a few apps: Chrome, Evernote, etc. ...
thanks!

[Q] App/Panel ideas for the Edge screen?

I'm not a developer or programmer (although I could learn how to, but by the time I figured out how to create a program, the Note Edge 3 would be released), but being an end user of the phone and with first hand experience, I can always comes up with ideas that may improve the functionality and accessibility of the device. Below are some of the ideas on different panels/apps that I think can greatly improve the functionality of the Edge screen.
Music Control - This definitely needs to happen. It would be amazing to be able to control your music app (play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, etc.) while using your phone for other tasks without having to open up the music app.
Multi-Window Functions - Why can't we use the edge screen as the multi-windows toolbar? Instead of having to hold the back button for the toolbar to appear, we can just drag the apps from the Edge screen and start multi-windows.
Task List - Tasks on the Edge screen where we can tap it to mark it as complete and a new task will show up. This could also be a shopping list and will most definitely be useful for Black Friday.
Bubble Level - There's a ruler...why can't there be a bubble level too?
Battery Bar - I know there's a battery bar at the top of the screen, but it would be nice to have a larger battery bar that's actually color coded based on the percentage of life left. And it could also displays percentage of battery life as well as remaining usage time.
Fantasy Score Updates - I play Fantasy Football and Basketball and would love to see updates on my Fantasy scores without having to open up the Fantasy apps.
What do you think of some of the ideas? Do you have any ideas you would like to share? Hopefully a developer/programmer will read this thread and create some of the highly requested/useful panels/apps for the Edge screen.
There is a thread with a list going. My company will be building a suite of apps that accomplishes many of these items.

Do you have a link to the thread by any chance? And what's the name of your company so that I may follow the progress of the suite? Thank you in advance.
When I first saw the edge, the first thing I thought of was my fantasy team lol. Fantasy points would be amazing. Yahoo already has a sports ticker, I'm unsure if Yahoo has any api that will allow other apps to pull points, but that would be so amazing.
I like the idea of a bubble level too. Seems like a no-brainer now that you mentioned it.
I'd like to see web browsers take advantage of the edge and place navigation buttons there so you wont have to hit menu->forward or menu->reload or menu->load desktop site anymore.
I'm also interested in being linked to that other thread with edge app ideas as well, please
ok dudes, let me get some of this work off my plate tonight and tomorrow, I'll probably make an official post or something for this. I responded to a few people in different threads so I went quickly and copied them here to give you guys something to ponder on, and add suggestions. This is a aggregation of things requested.
Ultimately the goal is to make apps that make it productive for business, and then make a few extra general apps. I was thinking a suite of 4-6 depending on the complexity to build.... which given how I design, the apps are usually complex to build. But with the limited space and functions of what we are making, these may not be to bad on time.
Some of these apps may exist, but I won't have my phone til Monday to see what comes preloaded. If I feel there is a lack of functionality, like in the messaging widget I'll build a better mousetrap.
WIDGETS
1. A rss feed type panel where user could add their own feeds.
2. A To Do list (integrates with outlook... so it can pull my data from there)
3. Messaging alert and reader. -- (so you can switch between sms/email/etc and use your finger to swipe left/right like a ticker to read the messages.. and maybe swipe up and down to cycle messages... still in thought)
4. Level tool
5. Music controls while using the phone
6. Twitter timeline
7. A converter tool.
8. Ir favorite channel edge panel
9. swipe or knock to turn screen on
feel free to add on!
Thanks for the reply.
So the Edge has an IR Blaster? If that's the case, I'd go further than just a favorite channels bar and add Volume up/down/mute as well as power too.

Yes, both the Note 4 and Note Edge come with the IR Blaster. It has been confirmed by many Tech and phones sites.

You and me both! The first time I saw it presented at CES 2013, I said to myself that it would be neat to see Fantasy updates on that side of the screen while at the bar or pub. lol.
And yes, I would love to have all the browsers navigation bar on Edge, it would make web browsing so much better and more efficient.
@jribbe101
Thanks for listening to the community feedback on creating apps for the Edge, I greatly appreciate it and I'm sure I'm not the only one! I look forward to supporting your company in the near future and am excited to experience your apps firsthand.
no problemo. Speaking of a fantasy widget... I am currently working on something that would probably blow y'alls minds, lol. I'm designing the UI now, and will have a running beta for March Madness and TNT (cable channel). So maybe I will integrate it with the edge... A small easter egg for our "limited" community

Its great to see you're giving user suggestions serious consideration. Can't wait see some of these ideas come alive. These apps potentially makes the edge seriously useful.
Good luck!

I agree, all these reviews talking about it being a gimmick.. I can actually see some good use for that screen in my daily business scenarios that would make small things more efficient. So, maybe we can make them eat those words @[email protected]!
Which forum should I post my thread on? General or Q&A? I'm going to start the new thread with this username and want to make sure it's under the right area. It will be a starter thread to aggregate ideas to pick which apps should be made.
Yes it has an IR blaster and comes with Smart Remote app (the same thing that was on the note 3 just renamed and themed a bit)
I was the one asking for frav Ch. IR. I think it would be cool to just swap over and tap the top 5 ch you watch.
There could also be one for vol up and down or even channel.
For those that arent use to the power button on top. You can get a screen off/power off app from the market and short cut it to the edge.
So far there isnt much i can think of for apps for the edge. Most of the stuff i can think of would have to be updated via the main app.
i.e.
facebook status scrolling,
ebay ending soon count down
TV guide reminders
I would love to be able to put any app that I have in the drawer to the edge screen instead of just the basic ones. Then you can put any of your favorite apps or most used apps in edge screen for easy access, or more sports ticker options for sports scores, yahoos one basic doesnt have any NCCA college football options.
Probably not the right thread but it's Q&A so I thought I would give it a shot , problem is I can't get the side panel to turn on without turning on the whole screen , I've read and read , your supposed to just activate it by running your finger or thumb up and down the side panel , but no matter what I do I can't get it to work without turning on the whole screen , am I missing something , I couldn't even get the night clock to work as it is supposed to , now to be fair I haven't had the phone for even 24 hrs yet , but have set everything up and messed around with it for a few hrs ...? Stumped ....any help or suggestion's would be greatly appreciated , I'm beginning to think I got a lemon , Thank's in advance ....

I don't have a Note Edge yet for reference, but I recall reading somewhere that you can "wake" the Edge panel by swiping your finger right and then left on it. Then once you wake it, you can use your thumb to swipe up and down to look at the different panels.
I do not believe that the edge panel turns on with the main screen still off.

Yes, it does. With the screen off, swipe back and forth on the sharpest part of the curve. That's the most sensitive part of the edge display. That will turn on the clock/notifications/weather (wait a bit, and it'll start scrolling to show your notifications). To access your panels, slide left or right on the edge as you would when the screen is on. once again the sharpest part of the curve is most sensitive.

I can confirmed that this works. Just put your thumb on the edge screen with your thumb covering the whole side of the edge, and slide/drag it up and down.
