The phone is stuck in a boot loop at the LG screen, and makes the annoying boot sound every few seconds.
I have tried to start in Safe Mode by holding down POWER and VOLUME DOWN until the LG screen hits, then releasing POWER and pressing POWER again. Instead of starting in Safe Mode, the Factory Reset option comes up. I have tried the factory reset but it does fix anything - the phone still is stuck in a boot loop.
Lastly, when I plug it into my computer via USB, my computer does not recognize anything (using both Mac OS X and Windows). I have tried installing the LG drivers from the LG support website on Windows, but they do not recognize the phone when plugged in.
How can I completely wipe everything and start from a fresh installation?
Thanks in advance
Does anyone have any idea on how to proceed yet? From my understanding, the phone is soft bricked since it is stuck in a boot loop. Starting in Recovery Mode (Power+Volume Down) doesn't work, instead the option for a Factory Reset pops up. Doing the Factory Reset does nothing. Should I try rooting the phone? Or should I try using the LG Flash Tool?
You need to return to stock LG firmware using LG flashtool
turn off your phone and connect your usb cable while you hold the volume up button to enter download mode
Hi jax256,
thanks for your reply. Would you happen to know of a reliable source where I can find the stock LG firmware?

Hello,
My phone is stuck on LG logo and keeps blinking its key lights and then turning on and gets to the LG logo and does the same again and again, I can turn it on in emergency mode, so I tried to do a recovery, but all softwares don't detect it, except one time it was detected but not anymore.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you installed a custom recovery? If not, you should be able to do a factory reset. Power off the device. Press and hold both volume keys and the Power button for 10 seconds. This only works with factory recovery.

I did before, and I did root my hone and installed custom rom, but still my phone won't boot except into logo loop or recovery mode, Android Flash recovery detected the phone once, I selected by mistake reboot phone into normal mode, the software went unresponsive, I unplugged my phone and replugged it and now no software would detect it.

Sounds like LGMDP or KDZ are about the only things that you can try at this point. With the phone booting to the LG Logo, it's not a permanent brick yet. I would try LGMDP before KDZ as KDZ has been known to brick devices. It's bricked two for me.

Something has changed the way the devices are identified since ICS came out. Have you tried using either of those programs with the device boot-looping on the LG Logo? That will be about the only way the device is detected. You may get lucky enough to have LGMDP detect it. The only other option I know of is to visit a local cell shop that has JTAG equipment.
Uninstall all lg drivers, reinstall the latest drivers and try again after disabling lg modem from control panel-devices

The device is boot-looping on the LG logo. There's not much of a chance of any drivers getting installed or at least the necessary ones.
Hey my Lg ms345 wont boot up.stuck at Lg logo screen or on the battery charging screen. I cant do any resets or modes.
Hey,
I'm trying to root my T-Mobile LG G2 with stock 4.4.2, but the it just refuses to enter download mode. I've tried the standard method of entering download mode (powering down the phone, holding down the volume button, plugging in the USB cable from my computer), but only the LG logo appears on screen, then the battery percentage appears on screen, and then the phone begins to charge. I've tried using different USB cables and different PCs, but nothing seems to work.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong here? Any extra steps that need to be taken?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try holding up and power and let go of power when the logo shows then push the and hold power again.

Do you mean hold power and volume up, plug phone in, let go of power and keep holding volume up, and then hold power and volume up again? I tried that, and the LG logo splashes on screen, disappears, splashes again, and then the screen goes black and the LED notification light blinks red. It doesn't pulse, like when it's charging, but it blinks a steady beat. It stops blinking and the phone boots up when I let go of the power and volume up buttons...

I'm having the same problem with my LG G2, I can't get into download mode. I've tried holding the power up button and plugging in a USB cable but my phone shows the LG logo and then starts charging the battery, I'm on stock rom, 4.4.2, no custom recovery. Is there a fix for this?
I had a similar problem with my T-Mobile LG G2 where I was rooted and accepted an OTA. It broke root and I couldn't get IOroot or Stumproot to work. Went to flash a downgrade and found the phone wouldn't go into download mode. It was NOT bricked. I finally tried playing around with the LG Mobile Support Tool (B2CAppSetup.exe). Of course it detected that my phone already had the latest firmware from T-Mobile, but then I clicked Options>Upgrade Recovery.
It downloaded for a while then I noticed it had put my phone into download mode (it said "Rooted" in red letters at the bottom). Then it flashed the same firmware over and I immediately tested, it entered download mode right away. But I didn't end up needing that as Stumproot was able to brute force it now after the recovery flash.
Anyway, I couldn't find an answer anywhere else. Most results also have a bricked phone, but that wasn't my issue. This solved my problem and maybe it could work for others.

Hello,
My Nexus 5 is locked, stock 4.4.4 and I never attempted to root or anything.
I ended a call and it got stuck, so I hard turned it off by holding the power button. Since that it wont boot, no matter what I do.
It doesn't respond to holding just the power button, and I managed a couple of times to get into fastboot, but whatever option I chose there it just turned back off. Now I can't get it into fastboot. When it was in fastboot, it was recognized as "Android", and now isn't recognized at all (because it's turned off). It also doesn't respond to charging.
I am desperate, please help me!
Thanks.

Is it charged?
Just plug in the charger for sometime and try to turn it on..
If above fails, you need to get into fastboot and first take backup of your sdcard using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51694433
If there is no important data on your sdcard, get into stock recovery and factory reset your device from there.
If you can't get into fastboot mode and nothing is accessible, contact Google if you purchased your device from play store or else LG!

The device is charged, it was 90% when it happened. I can't backup it because it isn't recognized as adb device in the cmd.
I managed to get to the fastboot menu again, but if I choose the recovery mode option it just turns off. Is there another way to force reset it to factory settings?

Are the drivers properly installed on your PC?
Had you enabled USB Debugging? (If you remember then good)
If your device is not recognized, then you can't troubleshoot it. If it's recognized, then you can either use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
Or get into recovery any how and factory reset.
Just plug in your charger and try again
If above fails, you need to connect Google and RMA your device.
Just took the Lollipop OTA update from stock 4.4.2. Upon completion my phone rebooted and is stuck on the LG boot logo. I tried entering download mode (holding volume up button and plugging phone into computer) but my phone doesn't enter it. Attempting to power off the phone doesn't work either, since the phone just powers off for a second and turns back on to the boot logo. I tried factory reset (power + volume down) and after proceeding with the reset the phone is still stuck on boot logo. What should I do?

You can power off if you hold power button longer. wait till logo appears, and still hold, till it gone away second time, and hold even a little longer.
Turns off but still stuck at logo when turned on

After i flashed the Lollipop firmware, it looked like the phone got stuck with LG logo but i gave it good 5 to 6 minutes and all was fine. The phone just needed to breathe a little.
.... actually i think it was my fault.
I run a stock german t-mobile s7 wich was recently updated to OREO
I managed to install adhell 3 which worked fine as an adblocker. One nasty T-mobile app kept draining my battery so i decided to enable the app-disabler on the home screen of adhell3. Unfortunately this seemed to have disabled all apps , including all system apps. Now i am stuck in a bootloop.
Can anyone give me some guidance how to resurrect my phone?
I am in vacations right now.... and i would really appreciated having a working smartphone again...
Thank you in advance...

Because you can't go into recovery mode when you stuck in a bootloop, following option should help: flash your stock recovery, TWRP recovery or any other recovery for your device you want via Odin. After Odin is done and after the screen goes off you have to imadiately press volume down, power and home button. Now you are in recovery mode and you can factory reset your device. If you don't have a PC near you, you have to wait until you battery is empty, charge it and then you can go into recovery mode and do a factory reset.
Thanks for the answer!
On my device i could somehow mange to enter the factory reset from the odin screen. But i have no clue what i actually did? Do i have to reinstall oreo now? If my google backup is older than the error i produced i guess it is save to reset the device from there no?

At first, I have to correct myself. I meant volume up, not volume down for recovery mode.
Factory reset from Odin screen? What do you mean? What did you do? And if you did a factory reset and can start and use your phone normally again, everything should be okay. I can't answer your last question because I have no idea.

You will have to wait until your battery discharge fully after that you can enter in recovery mode by pressing volume up, home button and power keys simultaneously. I have gone through this too.
