Can anyone bring back the camera quality settings from kitkat in lollipop?Because it's far better than lollipop .182
Sorry don't agree there not since the updated 18.6.A.0.182 firmware was released. I've seen some pretty good images taken with the updated camera files.
I accept. It's good. But I little disappointed after I compared with kitkat camera. Pixels are pretty

4.4.1 dropped for N5 and it came with huge camera improvements including HDR and HDR+ modes. According to the N5 threads the new camera works on CM11 (for us AOSPers) but I tried it and I get FFC reboot and main camera is really laggy. Is it portable? Will this camera update be able to be included in other AOSP roms? Or is it and update specifically for the N5?

Look for the stock Android camera.
I'm using the FV-5 camera (non-free). Gives you control over sharpening/post processing options and also a "raw" mode (png).
Did sony tweak the camera on kitkat? Or is it still so terribad?
To answer my own question, sony did in fact improve the camera quality with kitkat. Though it's still not quite good. In the past it had lots of sharpening artifacts, now it does not have those. However, the edges are now fuzzy instead of being slightly unsharp...
I need some photo samples taken by Xperia M2 in full-size after KitKat upgrade.
Thank you.
After kitkat upgrade the pictures a cleaner, they don't have that black dot's any more, that was the first thing i checked after upgrade
BUT still the pictures are far from great.
ll upload some pic's when i get home.

Here is a picture with kitkat.
Hi,
How would you compare camera in Mi4c vs Galaxy s4 ? Is there any one who moved from s4 to Mi4c ? I have browsed all pages with pictures and comparison tools however cannot find real user experience. I am currently using sgs4 and camera is enough for me, however with new phone I would like to get a bit more Will I get it with Mi4C ?
Thanks
If I were in your place, I'd wait for mi5. S4 ain't a bad device
The only thing i liked about the S4 was the screen. The camera takes blurry shots 4/5 times and it lagged to no end. The Mi4c is worlds above it.
I had i9505 2 months ago I sold It and bought mi4c I think mi4c has a better camera as compared to s4 and if we talk about features of camera mi4c has awesome manual mode which s4 lacks
I agree with ermacwins. You should wait a little for mi5
hey, as far as camera is concerned the mi4c is miles ahead of the s4 (and it should be, actually, it's a flagship two years ahead !) i wasn't a sg4 owner but i have used it a lot and i'm also a previous xperia z owner (both share the same imx135 sensor) and i can safely suggest the mi4c as a camera update over the sg4. however if you are very interested in night photography mi4/mi note will suit you better (and of course mi5).
mi4c's imx258 is way ahead of s4, IMO the worst thing about mi4c's camera is the MIUI camera app itself - you've got plenty of options, but in worse light conditions it ruins 9 of 10 taken photos - a much simpler google camera takes much better pictures as it uses better exposure parameters and doesn't try to wipe out the higher ISO noise along with all the detail left
and yes, wait for the mi5 to appear - the mi4c price will drop making it even better buy
Hi, I come from a family of S4 owners but used a LG G2 instead.
The Mi4C takes much better pictures than the S4 (main reason being its fast PDAF focus). The processing is mature, it capures much more light in the same conditions as well and shutter lag is much less. Like the other people here, I advise you to wait for the Mi 5 release, but here are some pictures I took with my Mi 4c:

I remember reading your comments on the xda portal camera related on cm roms. If you havent tried cm13, try it now because it has a new snapdragon camera and it rivals the miui stock camera.

actually the miui app has proper manual controls and the g. camera has not. but yes, in auto mode your night shots come out both blurry and full of noise. (who makes the software? the camera picks 1/12 s.s. and 3000 iso ! tons of noise and shake too ! )

I'm on Team Superluminal's CM13. I'll definitely look into it. The stock camera of CM13 is horrible, it doesn't even support PDAF. At the moment I have to restore a MiUI build when I know I'm going to spend the day taking pictures, and revert back to CM13 afterwards. Thank you for letting me know, camera quality is the one thing that bugs me on AOSP.

Are you on the latest build because it was added with the ROM. I'm on a older build and had to flash the camera. There was some flickering but apparently fixed.
I've been testing the two on my S7 but I just can't really figure out which one's faster or better. I've noticed some great features on Nougat but opening and closing apps tend to be slow on Nougat whilst on Marshmallow, it handles it well. There are a few minor lags on Nougat that I don't really see on Marshmallow. I don't know, what are your thoughts? I just think Marshmallow is a little bit quicker in terms of performance rather than Nougat.
p.s Does the battery life get affected?
For me nougat is best but.... don't forget it is a recent realese.... isn't a refined version like marshmallow!

I actually flashed back to MM today after running Nougat since the first beta > Final & first update
I'd been looking through some photos I took running MM vs ones I'd taken with Nougat and thought the MM looked way better
Went out today with MM and took a load of photos, and tbh now I can't see any difference betweeen MM and N in terms of photo quality (Haven't tried low light / night shots yet)
In terms of the OS itself, it seems a small but noticeable step backwards in terms of overall experience, little things like fingerprint unlock not being as reliable or quick with MM
The UI seems to take that little bit longer to respond with MM too, a slight hesitation after opening say the Play Store before it opens, where with Nougat it is pretty much instant
Only very small things, but together they make Nougat the better experience, and if low light/night shots with MM don't seem any better than N, I`ll be flashing back to Nougat soon
Few more things to try out, but for me at least, Nougat is the better choice
Nougat is coming along nicely but MM is still my go to. Xposed is too convenient to lose, and camera quality varies on the Nougat ROMs.
Front camera of my Honor 6x has gone Amazing to Irritating after the nougat. Colour production in outer/natural lighting is fine but sucks in indoor and artificial lighting. It crazy brightens your face with really bad colour reproduction and overly exposed results. It has been an issue for many users and a thread was also raised on the Honor Community but got closed later. The last update BLN-L22C675B340 which said
about fixes like camera improvements and some optimizations. It did nothing good to the camera. Although, Ram management got better.
Does anybody know about how to fix this issue?
P.S: Front camera was awesome in marshmallow.
Rear Camera is good anyway.
Sadly, artificial light makes this camera bleed... on natural light everything is fine, but in my house for example, the camera works very blurry and without a focus, photos comes out kinda bad. Actually, stock camera apk on stock EMUI is the best that you can find around, since that at least it's synched with kernel sources... Third-party camera apps could never reach same results. Maybe try to write directly to Huawei CS (customer support) including your actual build number, in way that if they should read about this, they could provide a correction patch or at least make it better in next update released for your build.
